Personality: Jingyi is an individual who, at her core, is a hard worker. She dedicates herself to her aspirations, and she won’t let anyone or anything hold her back from accomplishing them. It’s cruel to say, but she’s not scared of fighting others in order to achieve her goal and she won’t hold herself back if her dreams are in danger of being crushed. It’s in this sense that someone can say that she’s word-driven, but others can spin it as a taste for more power. Both aren’t entirely wrong, but they’re not entirely right. Jingyi does want some weight behind her name to throw around, and she certainly wants to be a well-known soldier respected for her prowess in combat. And unfortunately for the red-haired warrior, her time spent fighting and training hasn’t only furthered her capabilities, but it’s groomed her ego. While Jingyi is very confident in herself, she tends to be arrogant and egotistical about it. One part that certainly does not help Jingyi with her arrogant and egotistical side is the fact that she’s an adrenaline junkie who enjoys the thrill of a fight. It doesn’t matter if it’s a mock brawl between allies or a full-blown fight between her and another enemy. However, Jingyi still has a heart and will draw a line between fighting for a cause and fighting to kill.

Other than that, Jingyi is actually quite the nice person to those she calls her allies. Sure, she’s stubborn enough to the point it draws tears, and she is a bit too fearless for her own good, but the woman tries to do her best to help those around her. Jingyi is actually known for being rather zealous, though she doesn’t try to be overbearing. She just wants to come off as an energetic person (something she is), and become a person that others would want to be friends with.

While Jingyi is known for her work ethic due to her strive to take every action she can take to reach her goals (be them short term or long term), that isn’t to say that she is a patient woman. She’s hasty and rushes more than she should, which often results in mistakes that calls for Jingyi to redo her work. But, she doesn’t mind and usually goes back to fix her problems. Though, she still struggles with improving her hurried nature.

When there isn’t something big enough to bough her down (an occurrence that doesn’t happen often), Jingyi is almost always wearing a grand smile on her face. She’s extremely optimistic and hopeful, and it’s hard for someone to say that she’s not naturally charismatic and affable. She can also be mistaken for being silly or goofy, and while Jingyi tries to make others around her happy, she isn't necessarily the jokester in a group. But, these traits go hand in hand with her naivety and too-trusting personality. It’s not that hard for a “friend” to take advantage or trick Jingyi as long as she doesn’t suspect them of standing in the way of her goals. It certainly doesn’t help that she lacks some foresight and prefers to believe in others, that people will do the good thing despite any situation they’re in. Another trait that makes it easy to manipulate Jingyi is the fact that she has blonde-levels of airhead moments. She forgets to think or use her brain before her mouth, which can put herself in trouble.

One final thing to say about Jingyi is that, due to a rather secluded childhood, she’s rather ignorant of the outside world. She tends to be naturally biased against certain things, especially those that are liberal and oppose the conservative lifestyle of her clan. But, Jingyi does try to learn about new subjects and she keeps an open mind to new ideas. She tries to use her natural curiosity and benevolence to help others stay unaware of the fact that she’s quite ignorant and biased.
Likes & Dislikes:
Likes: Jingyi enjoys the feeling of being curled up in a warm blanket while it’s cold out. It just feels so comfortable to the woman, and it makes her feel relaxed. She also likes it when someone plays with her hair, including brushing her hair. It feels so nice to Jingyi to have a brush running through her hair, or for a pair of hands to run through them (though it doesn’t feel as nice when it’s her own hands).
Jingyi also enjoys being the center of good attention. For people to recognize her and her abilities since she had worked hard to gain respect and to become stronger. Though, even if she would never admit it, she would like more attention from the guys.
Dislikes: On the other hand, Jingyi absolutely hates it when she’s talking when someone else butts in and cuts her off. It’s a pet peeve of the woman, and despite the fact it never fails to irritate her, she manages to hold her tongue when it does happen. Another thing that tends to annoy the warrior is humidity. It always made her feel icky, from sweating too much or the way her hair puffs up.
Another thing that tends to annoy the soldier is when someone mistakes her for a Fanalis, which tends to happen often due to her appearance. It's understandable sure, but she doesn't want to be mistaken for a Fanalis, she wants to be known as a warrior.
Aspirations & Fears:
Aspirations: Jingyi wishes to have the military career her father never could achieve; her father, one of the most respected figures in her early life if not the most, had his leg wounded during the war. The wound led to his dismissal from the navy along with an early retirement. While Cheng, Jingyi's father, was still able to sail on peaceful waters, it was a devastating loss to him. And so, Jingyi took her desire to please her father along with her interest in the sword arts to start training. Her father, of course, indulged her, excited that at least one child of his wanted to follow in his footsteps, though her mother was less accepting but nevertheless supportive of her daughter's choice. In order to achieve her aspirations of climbing the ranks, Jingyi plans to continue to train herself to become stronger and gain recognition for her skills. She even considered trying her hand at throwing her weight at a dungeon after she builds herself up. Her end goal is to become a general of Kou, for surely that would impress her father and even the military clan.
Phobias/fears: Jingyi was a young child when her fear of open water had set in. Her father, a man who was a sailor in the navy during the Kou Empire's bloodier days, had always enjoyed sailing and had wanted to share that love with his children. And so, Cheng took her siblings and her to their small boat, taking every precaution. He did his best to drill rules into their small heads to make sure that they behaved, but it didn't quite make it through Jingyi's skull.
Their boat rocked in the water, and it was easy to hear the excited squeals of children as Cheng's children ran about the boat. The day was a cool one, but the breeze was a sure added bonus. All little piggies were listening to their papa's rules, all but one small piglet. Ignoring her father's rule of to never lean over the railing, Jingyi did just that as she reached out her hand to feel the sea's spraying water. It was at that moment that the boat was hit by an exceptionally large wave which knocked the poor child out of the ship and into the water. With a scream, Jingyi hit the water, her father's comforting advice as to not panic in the water long forgotten as the girl failed her limbs. Despite her attempts to fight the water, Jingyi continued to sink. It was only due to her luck that her father managed to leap into the water and drag her out before the poor child drowned.
Ever since then Jingyi refused to board a boat or go swimming in anything bigger than a small pond. If confronted with the prospect of having to go anywhere near a large body of water, it's unlikely that the usually brave girl would buckle up and deal with it. She just can't, the irrational fear of falling into the water, of sinking farther and farther away from the surface wouldn't let her. Instead, she would instead run away.

Appearance:
Jingyi is a woman of average height and long hair that reaches past her hips. A fringe covers most of her forehead while long bangs frame her face and hide her ears. Despite not being of Fanalis descent, she has bright scarlet hair and striking red eyes that often gets her mistaken for one. When it comes to her hairstyles, the girl has several that falls in line with military regulations. Her go to style is when her hair is tied off about halfway through before being braided down her back. When her hair isn't worn in such a way, Jingyi will either keep her hair up in a ponytail or in a single, long braid. She has a rather athletic body, toned and muscled from years of training and exercising. She’s not exactly lanky or buff, but Jingyi is certainly far from petite.


Armor:




Most often, Jingyi will dress in Bright Armor befitting her rank in Gao’s military. First, she wears a dull maroon colored Tangzhuang that has been padded slightly. Over it is her layer of armor that is made up by a combination of Mirror Armor, Mountain Armor, and Lamellar Armor. Her torso is protected by Mirror Armor, with a silver plate (the “mirror”) set center that protects her heart, surrounded by interlocking iron pieces that is traditional Mountain scale armor. Over the chest plate is a light golden cloth brigandine that covers half of the silver disc, with a red cord tied around it. Mountain armor is also used in her mirrored pauldron and thigh faulds. At the “top” and “bottom” of the pauldrons and thigh plates are golden beast heads fashioned after a lion dog, with the head at the top and its jaw at the bottom. Her vambraces and shin guards are made from lamellar plate armors, with the finishing touch being her a pair of military boots. The boots are protected by greaves along, and the toes of her boots are decorated with the face of a lion dog. Rivets along with red cords, silk threads, and elaborate tassels tie her armor together and allows it to be easily removed. Her armor is brown in color, with golden interlocking pieces in the mountain armor. The armor’s accents are blue in color, matching the blue waist cushion she wears. The cushions are held in place by her leather brown belt, with the snarling head of a lion dog used as the golden belt “buckle”. Along the belt are notches for Jingyi’s pouches and weapon sheaths. The final piece is a helmet that Jingyi rarely wears. It’s painted golden in color with elaborate cheek guards that had been stylized into the form of jutting gilded wings. The cheek guards reach down to her shoulders, protecting her neck. On the front of the helmet is the face of a lion dog, and out the extending out the top of the helmet is a red plume.

Jingyi has a rather open body language; it’s easy to read her through her movements. She tends to act on instinct, and her body language can be rather simple and straight forwards, as she is with her words. Her emotions are clearly displayed from her body language, from sadness to pure excitement. If she’s about to cry, it’s easy to see her face scrunch up as her eyebrows furrow before the dams open.

Background Information:
History: Jingyi is the eldest daughter of a former Navy sailor of Kou who is also the son of the head of the Hou Clan, a rather obscure military family that has served Kou through all of its generations. The clan has stayed hidden throughout most of its existence, nestled away in a small village in the small peninsula on the gulf of Kou that’s hidden by forests and mountains. Children of the clan often found careers that supported their country’s military, producing anything from soldiers, assassins, and beast tamers to even war beast breeders and blacksmiths.

Jingyi’s mother, Xinyi, is from her own military family, but it’s even less known that the Hou’s. She used to practice her way around making weapons as a smith, but now she is simply an excellent housewife and mother. Jingyi’s father is a man by the name of Cheng, a man who had served under Kou’s navy as a sailor. Other members of Jingyi’s family include her two older brothers, twins by the name of Guiying and Jianhong.

Growing up, it wasn't uncommon that Cheng, with Xinyi's permission, would take their children on small sailing incidents. The young girl idolized her father, and would often beg him to tell her stories of the different things he had experienced over his lifetime. Cheng was happy that at least one child showed signs of wanting to follow in his footsteps, and the girl's desire to learn how to sail like a true sailor and how to wield a sword properly often made the man chuckle.

And soon the time came when Xinyi finally agreed to let Jinyi accompany her father and brothers on their seasonal sailing trips. Though, unfortunately for the young girl, it wouldn't be a pleasant trip for her. Jinyi, much too eager about the forthcoming trip, hadn't listened to her father's rules and warnings. This lead to her incident, one where she leaned far too much over the rails of her father's simple sailing boat when a wave knocked against the ship and sent her tumbling into the water. Her brother was quick to notice, and it wasn't long before Cheng jumped in and rescued his daughter from a watery grave. But, the accident forever colored her view of sailing with fear; an irrational fear that if she ever went close to open water she could once more fall in, though she would drown this time. However, the girl was still excited to follow her father down a military path, instead choosing to head down one as a soldier of the Kou Empire's army.

Her childhood was otherwise mundane for the daughter of a military family; her days were spent either outside in the sun with a wooden sword or inside helping her mother with different chores. Occasionally, Xinyi would take her down to Cheng’s smith to show her some techniques when the girl had worn her down enough. It was once Jingyi was ten that her parents finally agreed that it would be safe for her to properly learn how to wield a blade. At fifteen, Jingyi got her first sword: Fujin, a blade handed down in the Hou Clan and forged by her forefather. It wasn’t long from that point in Jingyi’s life did she finally leave her village to the capitol. From there she found her way into a recruitment office for her empire’s military and officially became a Kou soldier. After then, Jingyi began to jump from town to town that held a military base, doing the odd jobs to earn money while working as a soldier.

Role-Play Sample: Jinyi jumped back, narrowly avoiding the slash of a long sword, her feet skidding across the wet grass. Her knuckles turned white as the warrior tightened her grip on her sword, her usually friendly eyes narrowed in caution as she eyed the jeering bandit in front of her.

"What's wrong, sweetie? Do you actually know how to use that sword or is it just a pretty decoration?" The man taunted, a malicious smirk on his face as Jinyi felt her face redden. Deciding that she wouldn't dignify him with an answer, she simply lunged forwards, her sword extending in a quick jab at his torso. Her opponent just managed to nimbly jump backward as he raised his own weapon as he continued to shout insults at her.

The woman simply shook her head, clearing her head of the words before raising her sword once more.  She practiced her skills for so long; she already could taste her first milestone of her mission and she wasn't about to let some thief snatch it out of her hands. With a grunt, she sidestepped another slash sent her way before bringing her own sword down in a downward arc. Jinyi didn't stop when she heard a cry of pain but instead continued. She quickly brought her sword up, knocking aside a weak jab before kicking her leg out and knocking the bandit down.

The man easily toppled over with a grunt, and Jinyi watched quietly as he hissed quietly to himself. After she caught her breath, the woman swung her sword in front of the bandit's face, causing him to pale as he stared down the cool metal. "I'll give you this one chance to run away, alright?"

Appearance: Dullahan, like all Ferrum Carpa, is a type of goat. His massive horns that curl around his ears, if stretched out, are 58 cm, with the shorter set of horns on his head tapering off at 5 cm. All of his horns are a metallic silverish-iron color. Like all Ferrum Capra, he has several horns lining his sides. They differ in size, with the one starting by his shoulder 5cm and the largest on his hip 20cm. Dullahan was bred to be larger than most Ferrum Carpa, so he stands at a height of a small horse (200 cm) with a rather wide body of about 65 cm. His body is covered in soft, white wool, though it doesn't cover his dark-brown face. The tips of his tail are black, along with the insides of his ears.

[b]Appearance:[/b] Dullahan, like all Ferrum Carpa, is a type of goat. His massive horns that curl around his ears, if stretched out, are 58 cm, with the shorter set of horns on his head tapering off at 5 cm. All of his horns are a metallic silverish-iron color. Like all Ferrum Capra, he has several horns lining his sides. They differ in size, with the one starting by his shoulder 5cm and the largest on his hip 20cm. Dullahan was bred to be larger than most Ferrum Carpa, so he stands at a height of a small horse (200 cm) with a rather wide body of about 65 cm. His body is covered in soft, white wool, though it doesn't cover his dark-brown face. The tips of his tail are black, along with the insides of his ears.
