Realization [Private w/ Ani | Training]

After parting ways with the Imuchakk, Ani. Rima found herself in a state of drowsiness, as per usual. Two days from now, the two would meet up again at the local market. ‘I wonder what she wanted to do, maybe I shouldn’t meet back up with her..' the girl thought to herself, trying to take action the way Diana would have wanted her to. After wasting a bit of time and not fully deciding on what to do, Rima decided to go ahead and prepare her bed for the night. Her normal bedtime preparation didn’t take much effort at all.

First, she would find a nice shade-tree. Second, she would pull out a wool blanket she had stowed away in her bag. Then last but not least, she would take off her traveling bag and place it somewhere nearby, covering it with a little brush so it didn’t get stolen during her slumber.

Just before snuggling up with her blanket, the magician would sit her hat down on the ground next to where she planned on sleeping. She originally planned on reading a bit before bed, but that whole ordeal with Ani had taken it out of her. Though, she didn’t really do much. She had a lot planned out for the following morning, as it was going to be her first time training in almost an entire month. After analyzing her recent clumsiness, she knew it was time to get serious. If she was ever going to avenge her brother’s death, she had to be much stronger.

The sun would rise much earlier than Rima had hoped for, beams of light stinging her closed eyes. It was time for her to wake up, as she had promised herself. Crawling out from her warm blanket, the magician would begin slithering up the tree she had slept by. “Damn, morning already?” she muttered to herself, wiping the crust in her eyes away. This had also smeared the makeup she had forgotten to take off before sleeping that night, making her look quite foolish for the time. However, it didn’t matter much since she would begin walking over towards the nearby pond. She’d splash the freezing water directly into her face, and take a nice white cloth she had brought along to wipe the residue away.

Stretching out her limbs to pop them, Rima was just about ready for training. All she had to do now, was to get properly dressed and get something to snack on. After about ten minutes of fumbling with her traveling bag, she had finally picked out some older clothing to wear. She’d immediately strip down and put them on, feeling slightly uncomfortable due to the clothing being quite ugly and worn. It was a simple black dress, one that had been used for her training purposes for about a year now. It wasn’t exactly in good shape, but it worked. Slipping her feet back into her geta, the purple-haired girl was finally ready to get her serious face on. She’d watch as Set crawled out of her hat on the ground, waddling nearby the assorted fruit she had laid out for the both of them.

Despite her knowing more about life magic in general, she often relied on heavy usage of heat magic instead. What exactly did she need? She wanted to create a new spell, but was unsure of the kind of commands to tell the rukh. Speaking to the rukh was second nature to her now, though they typically didn’t have very nice things to say back. Considering the rukh around her were considered tainted, and seemingly filled with grief and anger. She could remember being a child, the rukh she used to speak to were pure as driven snow. Though, that changed after that horrible incident.

She knew better than to get lost in this train of thought, though. She’d be questioning herself all day, if she kept it up. Instead, she would get right into it the heart of training. She thought back, to all the spells she had used previously. What could she do, to become stronger. After pondering that question for a moment, that’s when the answer hit her in the face. A combo. She needed some kind of ability she could combine together, creating some form of huge chain reaction. Tapping her chin in thought, she would try to take the situation by its logic. Combining two abilities would be powerful, but what exactly could she do. She had recently dabbled into learning to command the water, but could she do anything with that?

The magic to create life, to control water, and to control heat. In what order could she use those, to create something massive and powerful. Perhaps she could create some kind of heated steam bomb, though she didn’t entirely like the concept. Instead, she would try it in a different manner. “How about, this!” she would yell, waving her Headless Caster directly in front of her. The commands she had given the rukh weren’t complicated at all, instead it was as basic as one could get when controlling the red rukh. She’d watch at the furious swarms of black rukh around her amassed into a single clump around her wand, as they slowly faded into entirely different color, the color red.

“Combustion!” she’d yell out, as a strong force of hot air shot from the tip of her magic catalyst. It would continue going straight, stopping in its tracks as it came into contact with a tree. The result being; the bark of the tree had been slightly singed. The spell wasn’t incredibly powerful, but she had an idea for what it could be used for. It wasn’t much, but she still had plenty of time left in the day.

♫ Rima couldn’t help but look up at the fading sun in the distance, admiring it as she always seemed to do. It was absolutely stunning, the type of view she wished she could have shared with her late-big brother. The magician would let out an exhausted sigh, resting her chin in the palm of her hand. She had been trying to meditate for most of the day, concentrating on the small body of water that was laid out before her. Her goal here today was to master controlling this water, making it her own as she did with heat.

Manipulating the water itself was an easy enough task. What had been giving her the most trouble was when she tried throwing a bit of life into the mix. She was trying to replicate a form of magic Faris had shown her during their training way back when. Noir had used it against her as wel, at one point in their training together. The magic she was going for was to create a slimy-type substance, something that could both amplify her offense and defense immensely. It was clear to her that this form of magic was merely the combination of both life and water magic, but to what degree? The most she was capable of doing so far, was to create a thick layer of moss within the water. This frustrated her ever so slightly, but she knew she'd get it down soon enough.

The girl's concentration would be focused upon this one task for about half an hour more, until finally, results began to surface. It wasn't long after her first successful attempt, the intelligent girl had finally managed to create exactly what she had been training for.

♫ “Oho.~” The magician would say in amusement, watching a newly formed gelatinous orb float past her face via being controlled by her wand. The girl had done it. It took a little while, but she was finally capable of creating the correct substance. However, just to make sure of this, Rima would see just how potent the explosive properties to it actually was. By maneuvering the slime orb to about five-feet away from her, she would follow up with her newly created spell. “Combustion!” she would shout, waving her Headless Caster in the direction of the orb. Upon chanting this incantation, a blast of heat energy would fire from the tip of her wand at full speed.

As soon as the two forces collided, the slime sphere would immediately begin to react to the heatwave. A small explosion would be triggered from the spark of heat, burning away every drop of the gel in the process. She had finally reached the right balance of life and water magic, replicating the powerful composite magic known as “Slime Magic”. Upon seeing her success, Rima couldn’t help but jump in joy. However, her task of creating a useful spell with this magic was not over just yet.

“By combining water and life...comes forth slime.” Rima would whisper under her breath, moving the gelatinous ball of slime away from her. It was still hard to keep in one shape while controlling it, but she was slowly getting the hang of it.

Upon moving it around for a good five minutes without breaking form, the girl would finally release the spell and let it drop to the ground. Letting out a deep-breathed sigh, the girl would sit down on a nearby rock. “Okay, I think I’ve figured out the rukh formula for slime...but what should I do with it? It’s highly combustible, so I can make good use of that along with my heat magic. However, I still need to think of a unique way to actually use it in battle.” She knew that the answer to that question lay within water magic itself, as in the different subtypes of water she could manipulate to her advantage. However, that was a lot easier said than done. Afterall, she had just learned how to perform water magic just today.

She felt like turning slime into a more ice-like substance might have been a bit counterproductive for what she was trying to accomplish. She wanted something that would be absolutely devastating against her enemies. She could always create a layer of slime on the ground, slowing anyone who walked over it. However, the explosive properties of such a spell wouldn’t be that fantastic. That’s when it hit her, sliming a large area was indeed the correct way to go about it. Instead of pure slime though, she could create a blanket of slimey mist. The only issue being she didn’t exactly know how to turn water into mist or a fog yet.

The concept of making water into mist didn’t seem very hard to her. It might take her a couple of tries, but she felt like she would be able to get it down pretty quickly. All she really needed to do was separate a bunch of water particles. Then, influence the bacteria within those droplets in order to create slime. She felt quite confident in her ability to master this.

--Timeskip:One Hour--

In less than a single hour, Rima had actually managed to completely master the concept of changing water into mist. Not only that, she also could easily cause the bacteria to alter that mist into slime. Now, she was only tasked with one more thing to do. She wanted to make the ability a bit more convenient. In order to do that, she had to try making the mist into a compact sphere. If she was able to do that, she could launch the mist away from her, making sure she isn’t hit by her own spell.

“I think I’ll call this spell…’Sticky Situation’.” Rima said to herself, giggling at the dumb name. Upon focusing her wand at the nearby lake, the magician would release the gaseous sphere of slime about 15-meters away from where she was standing. As it reached its destination, the sphere began to unfold and turn into a 5x5 blanket of slime-like mist. If anyone were to traverse such a thick blanket of slime, it would begin to build up on their body, slowing them down quite a bit. Along with that, if she intended to fight said person seriously, she could ignite the mist and create a large-scale explosion.
