Zadi was going to meditate today. Meditate in order to hone his skills…and maybe even learn how to increase the speed of his Flight spell, Gravity Magic – Stage 1. Something along those lines. Anyway, Zadi went over to the plains and sat on a hill where he could see most of the large tower that he had seen on his caravan ride over to Magnostadt. It had been a relatively short time since then, but who knows? Maybe Zadi would try and investigate the tower. It was possible that there was some treasure! Or maybe just a bunch of dead things lying around everywhere. That tower was giving off a bit more of the ‘dead things lying around everywhere’ feeling rather than the ‘treasure!’ feeling. And besides, what did Zadi want with treasure? Well, he could get a permanent place for himself using enough Haung, hahaha! It was sad, but true. In order to live happily, at least for Zadi, you needed money, and that was getting harder and harder to come by day by day. Anyway, Zadi was going to meditate in front of the large tower…sort of in front. In view of the tower, but he didn’t know where the base was and if there was even a door to enter with…

It was and still is a mysteriously ominous tower that got the back hairs of Zadi’s neck to stand on end every time he looked at it. It really did scare him on the inside…but he won’t stop meditating just cause of an ominous and spooky place. No. In fact, that was the reason he was meditating there! He wanted to meditate in order to get a better feel for the Rukh around the tower…maybe even learning a thing or two about the tower itself in the process. At the same time though, Zadi would be training a few spells that would help him in getting stronger. Not physically, no, but mentally and magically. It wouldn’t raise hi Magoi level, but rather his general skill level in the use of the Strength and Gravity Magics. Technically though…Gravity Magic is a sub-type of Strength Magic…so Zadi was pretty much just training the same thing. However, the purposes were a bit different. Strength revolved around pure force and power while Gravity revolved around altering positions in space and even complete control over actions. Not sentient beings though. That would be crueler than what he did to Lorki…something that Zadi would never forget...though he has forgiven himself, hahaha!

That wasn’t something to laugh at…sorry. Sort of. It was pretty funny the way Zadi was remembering it. Anyway, Zadi closed his eyes…felt for his Gawking Heron staff…placed it across his legs after sitting crisscross-apple-sauce…if they even say that anymore…and made strange hand sings with both his hands. Zadi then looked deep into his mind and concentrated for any inkling of power that he could still muster…such as lost spells…creativity…and the courage to use such spells. The power that Zadi was yearning for was immense…and he might not be the same person after discovering what he could do with such techniques. It would be tough to even use them properly…but Zadi would have to try! Zadi started to lift himself off the ground in his still crisscross position, staff the same place, hands the same way still. It was like his meditation was causing him to float like a Buddhist monk. Well, it was rather by choice that he did this. He was using his Gravity Lift spell, Stage 1 to be specific. Well, it wasn’t like he had another stages to use…but maybe he really did? Zadi looked deep into his thoughts while to trying to match the Rukh around the tower with the Rukh of Strength Magic. They seemed to be…literally the opposite of any Rukh that Strength Magic used. Even Gravity was the opposite...

The Rukh around the tower were and still are very mysterious. Zadi just couldn’t pinpoint what it was that made the Rukh so polar to Strength Magic and even Gravity Magic…even though Gravity is a sub-type to Strength Magic. Anyway, Zadi focused harder on the tower, trying to look for clues as to why the Rukh were so different. All that Zadi could see…was light…Zadi didn’t know much about magic and their types…but there was something that seemed rather warming about this light. As if it was attracted to Zadi, much like the Rukh of Strength and Gravity. However not quite as strong as the connection that Zadi felt towards the Rukh of Strength. Zadi didn’t feel the need to investigate the tower further and just continued with his training in the Arts of Magic, specifically, Gravity Lift – Stage 1. He was going to try hard to get that spell to be stronger in some way. Perhaps lifting up more than himself? Maybe even that whole tower? Na!

Zadi almost got the hang of his flight spell training. He could feel the Rukh of Gravity doing their thing, lifting the gravity around Zadi in his favor. He was slowly able to sense the power of Strenght Magic and how it was connected to Gravity…it was…never mind. I’m not saying. You might know, but I also have a different opinion, hahaha! Let’s just say that Zadi knew how the Gravity Lift spell could be upped a stage form 1 to 2. It would really be way. All that Zadi had to do was think about the speed, direction, and magnitude of the spell, which means the size at which Zadi is able to use this spell…which would, as the last time, be only himself. Zadi focused and focused…and finally…after a few short minutes…he was able to fly faster and farther! Or so he theorizes. He just kept floating in the same spot so as not to disturb his training. He was still training a new string of spells that could end up being rather dangerous! Anyway, Zadi has upgraded his Stage 1 Lift spell to a Stage 2 lift spell…and he was quite happy about it~

Now that Zadi has trained his new Flight spell, it was time to move onto his next spell. And so, with all his might, Zadi meditated on what his next spell is destined to be according to the wishes of the Rukh and the Great Flow! Though Zadi doesn’t know that the Great Flow is, hahaha! He just knows about Rukh, Strength Magic, Gravity Magic even though it is still just a sub-type of Strength Magic, Water Magic, Fire Magic, and lastly…Lighting Magic. Lightning Magic reminded Zadi of his cruel treatment of Lorki back at Magnostadt…and it made him sick. Zadi just couldn’t believe that he did such a thing to a poor student that didn’t know any better. But the good thing about the beating and cruelty…was that Lokri and Cain learned their lessons fair and square, hahaha! Zadi just kept meditating, trying to keep the thoughts of the large and ominous tower out of his head. If he let even a sliver of that tower into his thoughts…it would disrupt any progress that Zadi was currently trying to attain...and he would have to start all over about. Now that isn’t any fun now is it? Yeah, it isn’t, so Zadi needed to figure out a way to think of a creative spell quickly before things would go bad in his head.

Zadi is still trying to get the thought of the tower out of his head, but he is failing. The tower seems to be seeping into his conscious and working its way into his permanent memory…the part that could replace another important part of his memory. Zadi had to open his eyes in order to see clearing…but were his eyes really open? Was he dreaming or just seeing things the way they really were? The tower seems to have messed with his eyesight, and Zadi began to rub his eyes vigorously in order to get the image…the image of a complete wasteland out of his eyesight. The image seemed to be so real! Was it a perfect illusion!? What does this tower do? What does it represent if anything!? Does it represent death? Turmoil? Wasted life? Maybe something as simple as…nothingness. Maybe the tower really does represent nothingness…hopefully not though. That would be depressing. Zadi would definitely want to enter though, hahaha! He really wanted to find out more about this tower and what kind of power it held within its great grandness!

Zadi wouldn’t try to get the image of the tower out of his head again. That was a bad idea. It was probably not trying to do anything funny either…other than the wasteland picture that seemed so real. All the same though, Zadi still has to train these special spells! Well, specifically one spell. It was something that he really wanted to try out for himself. He thought long and hard about what kind of spell he should use that would utilize both gravity and strength magic. It would be tough, but he would pull through eventually. And, yes…eventually, Zadi was able to picture a small black ball. Only picture, but it seemed too simple…yet destructive! It felt as though the image was real! Maybe that was the tower helping out Zadi realize his spell without actually having to use it? Who knows? Zadi doesn’t! He was just guessing and going along with it. It was a solid image, too. Zadi realized that his eyes were open while he was creating this ‘image’. Zadi reached for what seemed to be a black ball image…only and image…but it turns out…it was the spell that Zadi had been thinking of!

The image turned out to be more than just an image in front of Zadi…it was the actual spell that Zadi had thought of! Zadi must have accidentally created the spell without his knowing. It was strange how it was so simple…yet it felt so powerful. Zadi wanted to figure out everything about it…so he would dissect it using his Strength Magic and Gravity magic. Zadi closed his eyes…for sure this time…and concentrated on the Rukh of the ball. There were all sorts of Rukh being used to create this one ball. There were dust, sand, and other such particulates in the mixture of this ball. And the dust and whatnot wasn’t even being covered by the ball…rather…everything and around the ball was…the dust and sand and particulates! It was a condensed ball with the strength of a B-tier technique! But it was just dust and the like, right!? Thought it was a great way of using dust, sand, and particulates to their full potential. It was pretty friggin cool if you ask me! All that Zadi had to do was put it back together after having broken it apart so finely. Zadi concentrated on the dirt, dust, and other such things around him.

Eventually, Zadi was able to use Gravity Magic on the surrounding dirt, dust, sand, and the like. He lifted it up, let it settle in one place…and then strengthened the particulates into more solid forms. He then focused on the image of the ball that he so clearly dissected not too many moments ago. The dirt, dust, and sand all formed together, including other things that were particulates. It was tough, but eventually, Zadi was able to get a solid form going. Even more so, the power output of the ball was B-tier…that was just amazing. However, the ball that Zadi just now created…was a bit big. He thought that it would be best to condense the size into something fast yet equally as strong. Focusing some more, Zadi used more Strength Magic to increase the balls density while lowering the size down to a mere 5 inches in diameter. After only a short amount of time, Zadi finally got the hang of forming the ball and condensing and flying it through the air at certain speeds. However, like all spells that Zadi possessed in his small arsenal…there is a range limit to his new spell. Oh well, at least Zadi learned a new spell, hahaha!

The super condensed ball of dust and all sorts of other small matter was now trained and ready for use! It was pretty cool how such small particulates could come together to form such a power full ball of, well, power. Yeah, I couldn’t think of anything, just had to type what came to mind. Anyway, Zadi had upgraded one spell, which he was currently using the keep floating about half a mater off the ground, and another spell had been learned, a spherical ball of great power that could be controlled for a limited, but long enough time. Now that Zadi away halfway done with his meditation, it was time for him to get a little more serious. He needed to train without the tower interfering with his thoughts and making images that ended up being real. It was strange how the tower, so far away, was able to almost literally get into Zadi Medmar’s head…so easily, too. It was as if it was alive…or something was feeding magic through it. Illusions probably, but they seemed too real. Again, a mystery to Zadi Medmar the Black Magician of Strength and Gravity Magic. Zadi closed his eyes some more and concentrated on how much gravity was used on a particular object, specifically…himself.

Zadi already had an idea of what his next couple of spells either could be or would be. Hopefully would be. If it were could, then Zadi would have a harder time to mentally picture what he really wanted and would have to just keep reimagining uses for gravity magic and strength magic. That wasn’t necessarily fun either. Thinking sometimes hurts, hahaha! Anyway, Zadi closed his eyes, letting only the image of the tower stick to his mind, but not drain him of his thoughts. Zadi concentrated and found the Rukh that guided gravity all around him. Now that he had a vision of what he wanted to do, he thought long and hard about how he would accomplish this vision of Rukh dancing around him, keeping him both up yet also down. Gravity…strange thing to be able to control. Zadi focused on his own self, his won field of gravity. He thought long and hard, focusing on how the Rukh behaved when he was lifting himself up from the ground. The gravity field of his own device was letting him stay to the ground while also staying in the air.

Like two chains on Zadi, his Gravity Lift spell was pulling him up while the world’s gravity pulled him down. Zadi just couldn’t imagine the pain of it all if there were literal chains pulling at him with greater force than the two gravities. So, the Rukh behaved differently when gravity was lifted, so to speak, compared to when gravity was acting normal. The Rukh seemed to be both pulling and pushing rather than just pushing up on Zadi. Rather than making the complexity of gravity simpler and less complex, which is what simpler means…du…the Rukh were doing things the tough way, pulling both ways rather than just pushing. What was the force that was pulling down on Zadi? Was it really gravity? Mass? Pure strength? No. Well, yes, too. It was gravity, but from within Zadi, not just outside. So yeah, Zadi just figured out how gravity around him worked! Yay! Now he just had to utilize it in some way, shape, or form. Maybe he could just use the pulling down motion of the gravity against his opponents…specifically stronger opponents. Maybe both up and down? Or just up? Down? Yeah, for now, Zadi concentrated on ‘down’ rather than just up. A downward force that could pull at an opponent’s own gravity. Awesome!

Now that Zadi had a full and logical idea of how and why he would use this new spell once he figured it all out, all he had to do was actually learn how to use it without killing himself in the process, hahaha! Erhm…yeah, he could kill himself with this spell if he wasn’t careful. If you increase something’s gravity, it could get squashed. Alright, Zadi would concentrate of the ball of power that he created not too long ago. If he was correct about how this spell would work with the gravity of an object, it would low down the ball’s maximum speed to a human’s average speed of something like 3m/s. If not, then it would either destroy the ball or do nothing at all. Zadi focused on the gravity of the ball, other than the gravity holding it together, and increased the balls gravity! The ball suddenly dropped from half a meter down to, well, the ground. Zero meters. Ground zero, hahaha! Well, it seemed that it didn’t crush the ball nor did it do anything super scary or nonsensical. It literally just seemed to increase in…weight.

Yeah, so it seems that Zadi is able to technically increase the weight of an object or being and ground it with enough power. The ball was on the ground now, slowly moving at 3m/s. Well, it wasn’t necessarily a slow speed, but it was much slower than 20m/s. That was for sure! And Zadi was happy about that! He would be, theoretically, able to dominate even the strongest of persons! Maybe, that wasn’t the surest spell he’s had. Zadi didn’t know if the ball could still fly…nope. It would only slightly move from the ground and back down…however…when it did move down…it created a rather bold crater…does increasing the weight of an object increase the downward force of an object? Well…yes it does. It sure does and Zadi’s spell was proof, hahaha! Well, after a long period of meditating, it was time to rest, Zadi stopped floating and grounded himself, letting all the spells that he learned go away with the Rukh.

“Now about that tower…I have to tell Yaku about his…he would really want to know wouldn’t he?”

That’s right. Yaku would most likely want to know about such an ominous ‘thing’ as Zadi would like to dub it. It seemed alive. Though it was just a bunch of bricks, right?
