Without even realizing it, without a single inkling of how she had wandered there, she found herself in a familiar place. As she walked she brushed her hands across the intricate engravings that covered the stone walls of the temple, knowing more and more with every passing second that she was once again brought back to her place of upbringing. A mere glance at each series of carvings was all that was needed to know the entire story of each wall of carvings, one telling the creation tale of their earth while another told of the rising of the temples lesser god Alonne. Though despite that she was in a familiar place there would be little to no relief in its presence around her as to all of her knowledge she had left that place long ago.
"Come closer little one." At the very sound of the voices first syllable she already knew the creature that had uttered it, and every fiber of her being told her to find a way to leave the wretched place she had found herself in. Though whenever she had attempted to turn around her the voice would ring again inside of her head, like a small creature clawing at the inside of her skull, and find herself again without even realizing it wandering deeper and deeper into the temple to a place she knew all too well.
As she helplessly walked closer towards that room she could see dark shadows dancing and creeping across the walls towards the room from the corner of her eyes. The walking ensued until she finally found herself at a impasse. In front of her was a locked wooden door that lead to the one place she both knew the most, and the one place that she had hoped to never return to. "You are almost there little one, just one more step." The voice spoke again, and this time it felt far more familiar that its previous words, as if the same event had transpired a number of times beyond counting. Knowing that the voice wanted her to just open the door. As if she had little choice she found herself reaching for the door's handle and slowly opening it. With every creak and noise the door made as it was opening she could feel every breath of the dark aura leaking out and pulling her in. When the door was finally opened she could see and feel nothing but the darkness dancing around in peaceful bliss around its caller. The last thing she could see was the iconic smile of of her once teacher and the unforgettable feeling that she was helpless to take control of the darkness around her.
"Oi Priestess" Once again back in the world of reality, Mel slowly opened her eyes to see the world around her. Just as she had expected to see she was once again back in the confines of the open top carriage, hearing the familiar sounds of horse hooves clanging against the rough stone roads below them and the sound of wood creaking as it was pulled across the hot desert roads. "We're almost to Dahshur." she heard the same voice again as she looked towards the front of the carriage to see the driver looking back at her with his scruffy face, putting her friendly smile and face on. "My thanks driver, How kind of you to wake me up so I could see this incandescent sight from afar."
Mel rolled back her hood to release her long blonde hair and to finally take a good look at her destination. At the very reaches of her eye sight she could see the large city and the heavy waves of the ocean that it laid against. Though even with the knowledge that her trip to the city was almost over she could not shake the feeling that the dream had given her as it had the numerous times she had already had it. The helpless feeling of being unable to control herself around that woman was nothing but the most disheartening experience for her. The very remembrance of the dream sent a chill down her spine that contradicted the hot desert air around her and almost made her forget of the very reasons why she decided to journey to Dahshur. With all she knew it may of just been unconscious reasoning to get as far away from her old home as possible; Alonne temple, the place where she both grew up and was taught by that woman. That woman had both taught her everything that she knew, and showed her just how much pull she had on her student even across the vast distances she had put between them. This was the very notion that spurred Mel to push the distances between them further and further, both in physical distance and in sheer power. With the knowledge that the next destination of her aimless journey was in sight she snuffed out that lingering feeling and waited for the carriage to reach the edges of the city.
