The nomadic magi had found himself in the vibrant country of Merridia. He was excited to come here due to the fact that is was a brand new country. New country meant that there was so much more to experience. However, he would gather new experiences after completing the task at hand.

This was not his first time here, not even his first time with this task. Last time that he was here he had risen the dungeon of Vine, and here he was doing it once again. He was not sure why he was raising another dungeon in Merridia, maybe it was the pull of fate, the will of the dungeon itself or just his pension to explore.

He would choose a spot in the forest that seemed to make up a mjority of the country and would make sure the area was isolated from humans. Once done the Magi would begin to raise the dungeon.

He would focus on the area and the image of a tower in his mind. He could feel something fantastical and heroic about this tower he was raising. He was not sure what to excpect when the tower with the crescent moon raised from the ground.

Standing before him was a marvelous structure with a pair of massive doors that were painted of some far off land that the magi did not recognized. Oh how wonderful it would be to see such a landscape.

A few days later the leader of Merridia would be informed of the rising of a new dungeon. This is something that only a few of her people who were in the vicinity knew about. Although the Empress would know all too well that this secrecy would not last long.

The painted doors of Amy awaits her.

"A Dungeon... Merrze would say her brow and face chiseled into a determined sandstone expression. Bloody bright stars stared from her gaze with a passion she had not felt in a long time. Her blood was rushing with the gold of Prometheus, a heart rate strong enough it could be heard by beasts or those with sharp hearing.

The last time the Empress of Meridia had set foot in a dungeon was in Ronove. There she had failed to help Endolf win a djinn. She could never redeem that chance for him, but she missed him so. Her old lover was reflected well in the actions of their daughter, even if Menat looked like neither of them really with bark skin. The mixed emotions did not cloud the excitement she felt, it surely did stir all sorts of emotions.

"Is Everyone ready?" she'd ask, turning to face her son and guard. She didn't really need the guard, or she didn't believe she did yet this man had a unique tale. From what she had heard, he deserved a chance to see a dungeon in completion. He had the potential makings of a leader himself, from the way her guards observed his fighting he was surely strong.

"We need to enter quickly, if there's a chance or a delay there could be a chance we'll be separated. The danger a dungeon holds is always of varying degrees, we could be safe or wolves could come to rip you apart. From previous experience, always be nice to talking animal folk, especially the bears." Merrze would say with a jaunty tone while assuring her gear was fine. She wore her mantle, and sword by her side with a cestus on her hip. She wasn't a fan of being reliant on magic items but she kept her amulet around her neck, with the giant's fist with the cestus.

Merr would look up with a sad expression "Sorry you can't come Ery, there's not enough room." The whale would let out a sad bellow but it understood, Merzan would sit on the beast above. The third child of Merrze would wave and say "See ya Momma, hope your magic doesn't fall you, Merlin!" He stuck his tongue out teasing him, as the now 8-year-old twins would say "BRING BACK SOUVENEIRS!"

It would make Mer chuckle as they gave their goodbyes, and with it, they would ride back to the castle to go check on the younger siblings. The great lioness would march forward, approaching the gate waiting for the two of her companions to touch it along with her. "Oh be careful, from what I remember the ride will make you a little dizzy.

He was surprised his mother had gone through the effort of inviting him along to a dungeon, but after the discussions with Merrze and Menat, he should have seen it. The issue rested in his heart as he had not even half the strength of his sister. She had only gotten stronger since, maybe this would lead to some sort of growth for Merlin. Worry weighed heavy on his brow enough to make the face he made nearly stick. No, now was not the time for anxiety. He would have protection from his mother, and their guard. Maybe it was wrong to rely on them, yet he could only grow from the experience.

"No use being stuck in my head... He would mutter moving forward. He gripped his snake chain tight while treading forward with his mother. Some reassurance would calm his mind as Merzan and the twins gave their farewell. While they'd be enjoying life in the palace he'd be seeing the true danger, or apparently talking animals. It did sound like each dungeon was a world of mystery from the tales he had heard.

"Thanks for coming along" Merlin would say back at Jason "I know one always has their own interest, still having more competent folks makes me feel at ease. Though I'm sure Mama will be able to handle most things."

Those words could have been for their guest but they were more for him. He had truly only seen the power of her djinn, she saw how strong one could be. That only worried him about what dangers could await. It was also the last bit of chance for some family bonding before the young magician would head out for the land of Magnostadt to study, and train with his father.

"Yes, let's see what beholds us in this dream world." Merlin had said, gathering up his courage to touch the gate along with Merrze.

Many questions can arise from reading this story but one could truly think of ANYTHING that could be more unusual than Jason's appearance. There he was with the other Meridian guards, with his snake armor wrapped around him and a hidden blade on his back. It was held in a heavy sheathe, something that could contain the intense darkness inside.

How does one deal with loss? In other words, what does one do when they feel weak?

Leaving the Asmoday in defeat hurt Jason's pride and spirit. Not only was he a loser of the tournament, but he never received the training he deserved. It seemed that the training was a labeled as a "mistake" from the other dungeon participants, seen as indefinite torture to one's spirit. Still, Jason felt like he needed that much torture for the awful loss he experienced. None of his attacks worked on Zuzu. He was weak. Useless. Pitiful.

But Meridia had an answer. Jason ran from Reim. He needed a break and a new scenery. What he found away was Merlin and the guards. His strength was recognized, even if the Fanalis couldn't recognize it himself. He is now a helper of the Queen, though its unsure if he will stay that way or return to Reim as a soldier.

He knows of Meridia's Queen and the strength the entire family holds. Could he learn more about himself from them? Jason doesn't know the answer to that question, but the desperation for strength compels him.

The Fanalis nods to Merlin with his armor donned on him. With no blatant hesitation, he touches the gate in silence. Would this dungeon also end up in failure? Maybe he is the bad luck charm the world hates.
