Not all raw materials can be found on site at Portsmouth. Some must be brought in from other cities over the roads. Unfortunately, many bandit groups have found this to be great pickings. While the army supports the caravans by patrolling the roads, they cannot be everywhere at once. You are hired, alongside other guards, by one such caravan to help provide protection. During the night, as the caravan makes camp, the bandits attack! There are many of them, but you have guards with you as well. It looks like things will be okay if you handle at least 3 of the opponents...

Clack. Clack. Clack.
The sounds of the horse's footsteps passed through the night, a crimson haired man wearing white robes covering his body laid in the rear of the convo. His leather sandal-like shoes could be heard walking down the road behind the horses. Around his neck was a bright golden necklace, it wasn't much but enough to draw attention, all the while on his left arm he wore a shield, it was brown and made of mostly leather and wood. It had a special thing about it which allowed a sword to slide into a groove in the center of the shield. Something like this was is not often seen with warrior's gear. Still, Knuckles wore it proudly, as he was able to draw his sword incredibly fast from it and took up less room on his person.
The group of travelers he was paid to protect turned back to him and the other guard that was walking on the side of him. "It's getting late, convo captain said we calling it a night. We'll be stopping soon up ahead. You guards can make your plans for the watch and what not once we stop. " Looking up he could see the man was right, nightfall was soon going to be upon them, and if they didn't set camp up while there was some sunlight left, it would take longer and be more confusing for the guard details. After a few more minutes of walking, they had come to a halt, Knuckles waited for the convo to make its circle and tie the horse up to the trees before he moved forward from the road. The vantage points for an attack on them were not looking so good in their favor. They were open on each side, and from above but Knuckles would address these concerns with the rest of the guards once they were setting up fire watch.
About an hour or so later, the camp had finally been set up and the other four guards and himself made a circle. "So it's one guard per hour than, the post will be a stationary bird's eye view from the top of the heights wagon. Wake the other guy up a few minutes before your shifted ends so he can wake up a bit. " Knuckles was put in charge due to his renown in the Coliseum. They knew his skills or rather what he displayed in the battles there so most of them had no issues with it. Other members were retired military veterans who were doing this for the easy money. However, it looked better if something happened and Knuckles was in charge so they said nothing. With everyone on the same page one of the Vets took the first watch, they were no stranger to how this worked, either the first middle or last shift was the best, and honestly, the middle was just okay because you could fuck off and no one would know.
The first two watches went off with no problems, feeling a shaking sensation in his body Knux woke up seeing it was time for his watch. Nodding his head, he slowly rose p from the waist and grabbed his gear. Once he was fully dressed and ready to take over he waved over to the watchmen letting him know to go to bed. Unlike the others, Knuckles would leap into the tree branches to perform his watch, he could see a lot better from up there and with the light of the fire, he would be able to notice movements in the surrounding areas better. Things were getting boring though, he was sort of upset that nothing happened, he was informed that this was a hot route for bandits and that he was almost certain to see some action. Of course, as soon as his watch was coming to an end he saw something from the corner of his eye. About seven dark shaped figures were moving around the campsite. A smile was worn on his face, to make it even better it seemed they had no idea he was in the treetops. Waiting a few more minutes he saw them move towards the cargo he was escorting. He needed to act before they start to kill people with his group, and so he slowly climbed down the tree, using his acrobatics to ensure he did so with minimum effort and movement.
Now that he was flat-footed on the ground once more, he moved over to one his fellow guards, placing a hand over his mouth in case of a scream Knuckles gave him a firm shake. The Guards eyes popped open as his body began to worm around, seeing it was Knuckles his breathing began to calm as he reached for Knux's hand. Knuckles lifted his other hand's index finger to his mouth motioning the shh motion. He gave Knux a nod showing he understood. "Wake the other up carefully and quietly, we're being robbed." He whispered very low to the man, after doing said action Knuckles drew his blade from his shield and crawled around the camp. He came upon one of the seven bandits, he looked like a newbie to this kind of thing. While the bandit was digging around in a bag, Knux snuck up and slide his sword cross his throat allowing the blood to pour out, and kill the man with little to no noise.
By this time he hoped at least two more guards were up, all was going smoothly until one of the traders woke up to go take a piss. Right over him was the bandit leader, and as the trader screamed from shock, he was put down. The entire camp was now put on high alert. Panic soon spread throughout the campsite, and Knuckles had much work to do. Leaping onto a cart only 2 meters away, he searched in the direction of the scream. Right away he saw a man exiting a tent with a short sword covered in a crimson liquid, he was willing to bet it wasn't wine. Hopping down from the cart, he began to run until he was at full speed and tackled the man. The two hit the ground and rolled to the outskirt of the campsite.
Both men scurried to their feet trying to beat the other there, reaching their feet at the same time they starred at one another for a few seconds,3 meters apart from one another they both began to move clockwise around the area they were in. Knuckles broke the dance leaping forward with a full strength push from his legs off the ground propelling him forward further than a human's leap. The Bandit rolled out fo the way of the leap offsetting Knuckles, he attempted his gut slash, aiming to slice Knuckles open in the midsection, however, Knuckles used his sword to block to skilled slice. The two locked eyes once again as it was clear whoever was losing was going to die, the intent was heavy in the air. Meanwhile the other guards were handling up on the other bandit, however, one of the men was out number two to one. Knuckles needed to hurry and end this, and so he made his choice with his actions. Running in a straight line at the leade bandit, he attempted to draw out another attack, with a smile the bandit used his skilled stab he named Gutting stab aiming once more for the gut and midsection of Knuckles' body. A foolish attempt as Knuckles parried the attack with his blade off setting the attack to the left and opening up the bandit. THis allowed Knuckles to perform a back swing with his blade as he motioned to bring his sword back to the center of his body, the bronze short sword slashed a triangle cut into the chest of the man opening up his chest to heavy wounds. His body fell to its knee where Knuckles would swing his arm out and twist his wrist a bit before lobbing the head from the body, blood splattered across his robes and arm.
Taking a moment to scan the battle field he saw on the guards had been slain, the one who was out numbered. Snarling Knuckles invested extra stamina than normal to quickly cover 9 meters across the battle field, once doing so he took in a deep breath before letting out a roar of great power freezing one of the bandits in its place from the devasting pain to its ears before it fell over unconscious.
At this point the other guards had finished with their fights and were able to take down the last bandit after everything was said and done, they wrapped the dead guard up in white sheets to be taken back to town, along with trader who had been killed. Everyone else was for the most part okay, and payment was coming for those who had survived. As for the corpse of the bandit they were stripped of their belongings and burned before setting off for the town in the morning. Knuckles had lost someone he was in charge of for the first time today, and it was going to stay with him for a while, whether he wanted it to or not.
