Job:

Cyrus continued his journey across the war-torn lands of Kou hoping to find his sister and get out of this hell that was this civil war. Being from such a peaceful county he couldn’t see the point of all this violence. Walking through the plains and seeing all the slowly rotting bodies, broken arrows and armour everywhere was quite disconcerting. He couldn’t even look at the sun that was rising in the east. Bathed in a glorious hue of gold and orange, Cyrus stopped, coming to the realization that he had been walking for a whole day without rest. The landscape that he knew as a child had become tainted, blending into one morass of blood and sorrow. The young man reflected back on the village that he helped a few days previous; the looks of desperation and futility haunted him. There wasn’t much he could do though, he wasn’t a magician like his brother who could maybe help them grow food or provide them with water, he wasn’t like his sister who could protect them by fighting or being a good diplomat to negotiate with the relevant people to get something done. The autumn air kicked up the smell of blood, a sickeningly sweet smell that offended Cyrus’s body to the very core. Walking faster Cyrus saw smoke in the distance upon further inspection he saw a tiny village walking closer to the houses he saw a sad scene, people maimed and injured children crying because they are severely hurt. “What’s wrong here?” Cyrus asked with concern.
“Well, the doctors aren’t seeing us because they are overworked with the soldiers!” one woman said. “These soldiers have destroyed our homes taken our men and ended our livelihoods, yet despite this they are still first priority for the doctors and its simply not fair! The doctors are too tired to treat the injuries that we have because they’re too busy bandaging soldiers little scrapes.”
“I understand” Cyrus looked down at his feet trying to thinking up a solution. Walking to the hospital, Cyrus was still at a loss for what to do.  He could see the soldiers as he and a few of the villagers made it to the hospital. It was an undeniably sorry sight. Three soldiers were lying in beds at the far end of the dirty nondescript room each with rather simple injuries something that could be most likely easily fixed by one self but certainly not needed to be seen by a medical professional. Cyrus was torn. He wanted to stay neutral, if he sided with the peasants he might be wrapped up even more with this conflict because he would but out to the soldiers’ good graces, but he couldn’t just leave the peasants to fight and die on their own.

Not wanting to seem too indecisive, Cyrus made his decision, the peasants needed to be helped. Although the soldiers were important, he guessed they shouldn’t come at the expense of the people that they are ostensibly trying to protect. Cautiously, Cyrus walked up to one of the doctors. “Excuse me sir, I understand that there are peasants that need tending too. Many have serious wounds that need to be treated right away or else they will get infected.” The doctor replied, "of course that is what’s going to happen but we’ve been so tied up with the soldiers, that we simply don’t have time for the other patients we have to eat and sleep too you know.” this was a difficult situation, but he would have to try to negotiate with the servicemen. Their wounds were not a grievous as some of the peasants and therefore could be shoved off for more serious patients. Perhaps he could teach them some basic first aid since he had learned so much during his days on the islands south of Balbadd. Finding a serviceman wasn’t that difficult but convincing them to give up their very good treatment at the hands of Harutake Village was another matter by far. Naturally they said no.  Undeterred, Cyrus decided to go against his cardinal rule and he decided to fight for the peasants. Pulling out his scythe of wind, the Soseji, He had agreed to fight for the peasants to give them control of their doctors again and hopefully a way to fight back against oppressive forces that were hostile to neutral towns. Walking up to one of the medical pavilions, Cyrus calmly asked, “Will you not fight me for control of these medical pavilions” reading himself for the fight, he continued, “It should be a simple task, there are 3 of you and 1 of me. You all fight me and whoever wins will get control of at least one of these hospitals”
One of the soldiers laughed, “We are men of Kou trained in battle and honed our skills in this war. You could never beat us but if you have a death wish then I’m sure that we could humor you!” they surrounded him, drawing their swords Cyrus was quite prepared for this, imbuing his magoi into the scythe, Cyrus slashed lengthwise along the torsos’ of two of the three soldiers blowing them back with a gust of wind magic. Catching them off guard, Cyrus was ready to attack the guard with a turn style attack but before he could get it off he felt a sharp pain at the back of his head and stars were starting to form in front of his eyes. He turned around to see the third guard with a smirk on his face the blunt end of his sword sparkling with a ruby tint from Cyrus’s blood, “forgot about me did you?” wryly Cyrus said, ”of course not I’ve got something just for you” he then lifted up his scythe and did his Argentum slash finally remembering when he learned it right in Kou at the age of 11 or 12. But before he had time to reminisce after felling one of the guards the other were getting on their feet finally he wanted to end this quickly so sprinting up to the soldiers, Cyrus jabbed then turnstiled him with his scythe.  For the third guard he hooked him and told him calmly, “this is neural ground neither forces are welcome without explicit permission from these peasants or you’ll have to answer to me” shaking his head, the young man hobbled off. Going back to the village, Cyrus was greeted like a hero, something he felt that he didn’t deserve he was just doing what felt right to him. As much as they wanted him to stay a little longer to help out, he needed to keep moving to find his sister and perhaps create a neutral party to help out as many people as possible. That’s what he would do finally realizing that he could do some good in the world, Cyrus took off again, hoping to do more good in some of the other villages and neutral territory.
