Hohotaro the Hero II

Quest:

After the last wolf falls down Hohotaro picks up each one to carry them back to the tribe. It's a waste hunting an animal and not making use of it. Hohotaro thinks it would be disrespectful to the natural flow of things. He went back to where he left Khaleel and he helped the kid back down from the tree.

"Wow Brother Hoho! You were as amazing as I imagined! The way you block the wolf's face and push it aside! Whoom woosh woosh!" Khaleel acts out Hohotaro's fight with the wolf.

"Hehe You haven't seen nothing yet! Those wolves are easy, wait till you see my fight with a dragon!" Hohotaro smiles and winks at Khaleel as they head back to the village.

Hohotaro and Khaleel gave the wolves they hunted to the animal farmer and received the payment for the hunt. Hohotaro then asked Khaleel what's the next mark would be?

"The man just said it's a screeching horror, he said they are flying creatures big enough to snatch children so they are a threat." Khaleel looks through his note.

"Ugh... flying." Hohotaro put his hand on his forehead. "Maybe we could skip this one no?" Hohotaro looks at Khaleel but the kid stares back at Hohotaro with an expression full of expectation. "Right right... But you should stay back this time. Flyers are a tough bunch and you can't hide from them enough. I'm serious about this, stay at the village for now." With this Hohotaro leaves for the location of the screecher's nest.

Hohotaro continues on towards the Screechers nest alone. From his experience with the crows he knows this task would be difficult. He doesn't want Khaleel to be in danger and most of all, he doesn't want Khaleel to see him uncool! It would be really uncool if Khaleel sees hohotaro not able to reach the pesky little birds.

As much as he doesn't care about bad things other people say to him, he want those close to him to praise him and view him as the best or as a hero. Hohotaro unsheathes his sword and determined to end this hunt as fast as he can.

"Ow!" Hohotaro jerks his head around to find where the voice was coming from. From the bushes just within ten meters of him he saw Khaleel stumbling through the vines. Hohotaro placed his palms on his face and thinks. "Khaleel why the fuck are you here!"

Hohotao heads towards Khaleel as fast as he can but...

"Screeeeeeeeee" Hohotaro looked up and there was a black bird streaking down the sky, he saw where the bird is going and it's heading straight for Khaleel.

"Khaleel look out!" Hohotaro shouted as he rush over to where Khaleel is but his Imuchakk legs failed him. He was too late the bird already got hold of Khaleel and starting to drag him towards the sky.

Hohotaro grit his teeth in annoyance as the bird tries to fly away. Because of Khaleel's struggling the bird is not able to fly away as fast. Hohotaro jumps towards a tree and another then towards the bird delivering a kick towards the bird. The bird covers itself with its wing and Hohotaro noticed that it's almost as hard as steel and the bird is not harmed at all. Unperturbed Hohotaro used his other foot trying to kick the bird again, this time Hohotaro reached his target and the bird came falling down.

Hohotaro covers Khaleel with his arms and protects him as they roll on the ground. Hohotaro received minor cuts and bruises all over his body because of the rough landing but he managed to prevent any harm to come to Khaleel.

Abilities:

"What are you doing here!?" Hohotaro asked Khaleel in frustration. "I told you to specifically stay away. It's just for this hunt why can't you... Ugh!" Hohotaro raised his hand.

"I'm sorry...." Khaleel held his head down as he realized how bad Hohotaro was injured because of him.

Hohotaro puts his hand on Khaleel's head "It's ok."

"Screeeeeeeee" three more birds come flying down towards Hohotaro and Khaleel. The birds formed a circle hovering above Hohotaro and Khaleel.

"Stay close to me." Hohotaro backs towards a large tree keeping Khaleel in between him and the tree. Hohotaro thinks that at least this way he won't be attack directly on his back and he can protect Khaleel more effectively.

"What are we going to do?" Khaleel is stiffling a cry as he was clutching Hohotaro's back.

"We're going to wait for what they are going to do. If they attack me I'll fight back, but if they decided to back down it's good too since we can regroup." Hohotaro relays his plans to Khaleel probably forgetting that he is talking to a little boy. "Khaleel try to stay close to the tree, and whatever you do try to stay between me and the tree got it?"

Khaleel nods as he tries his best to flatten himself against the trunk of the tree.

Hohotaro stares intently at the circling shadows above him then suddenly in one loud screech all three of the birds comes swooping down towards Hohotaro.

"Here they come." Hohotaro readies himself for the attack.

Hohotaro readies himself keeping in mind to stay in front of Khaleel. The three birds come almost simultaneously. Hohotaro swats the first approaching bird aside with the use of his Hook Sworddeflecting it's claw. The second one also tries to hit Hohotaro with it's claws but he stopped the attack by crossing the hook sword in front of him. The third one went passed Hohotaro's guard and scratches his arm with it's claws, Hohotaro manages to grab hold of the last bird and drives his knee towards it.

Hohotaro examines his wound and it was bleeding profusely. He have no time to bandage the wound up because the birds are already preparing for their second wave of attack.

Ability:

The bird lets out a paralyzing screech and when it hits Hohotaro it seems that his arms became immobilized. Hohotaro forced his arms to move by trying to do his dual slash ability. His arms started moving again and just in time because the birds are just coming in for another claw attack.

Hohotaro parried the first claw attack and he blocked the second claw attack. He then grabs the second bird and forcefully pulled out its wings as it try to escape. There is one more left, Hohotaro's arm is still bleeding and he is losing so much stamina.

Khaleel just keeps hugging the tree and try not to move trusting that Hohotaro would protect him even if the horrifying sounds happening around him just make him want to run away.

Ability:

The hook sword from Hohotaro's hand fell along with the continuous dripping of his blood. He already lost all his strength on his bleeding arm. Hohotaro wipes his head and decided to just drop the other one to the side. Hohotaro has a plan, it might not be the best plan but it might be his only way out of this predicament. Hohotaro raises his less injured arm in front of him and glares straight at the bird waiting for it to attack.

The Screeching bird comes down for another claw attack, Hohotaro grits his teeth. The claw tears through Hohotaro's arm but he bears it all. Despite of the pain Hohotaro grabs hold of the bird's claw right after the attack to stop the bird from flying away. With all his might Hohotaro slams the bird towards the ground and stomp on it's face making it explode into paste.

As the last of the Screeching bird falls Hohotaro lets out a sigh of relief. The wounds of his left arm is starting to close, the bleeding is starting to slow down. He tries to bandage his right arm, unfortunately there is no cloth readily available for him. Hohotaro's vision is becoming blurry, the loss of blood is just too much for him. Hohotaro collapses by the side of the tree.

He felt some tugging on his right arm. "Wake up brother Hoho."

Hohotaro sees in his groggy state Khaleel. The kid is bandaging up Hohotaro's bleeding arm. Khaleel has ripped his clothes to be used as bandages for Hohotaro's wound.

"I'm sorry... I'm sorry..." Khaleel utter these words over and over as he continues wrapping up Hohotaro's arm clumsily. Khaleel's snot and tears runs down through his cheeks and drips towards Hohotaro's arm.

"Hey hey hey..." Hohotaro smiles weakly and pats Khaleel's head. "If you keep getting your snot and tears on my wound it would get worse! haha" despite being weak Hohotaro still desperately tries to lighten up the mood. "Besides... " Hohotaro tries to sit up. "I'm perfectly fine! Didn't you see how I kicked those bird's butt?" despite all the pain Hohotaro is experiencing he endures it all just to make a tough guy impression on Khaleel.

What Hohotaro was trying to do resonates directly to Khaleel and the kid understood even without being said what Hohotaro meant. Khaleel nods and wipes his tears and mucus and nods at Hohotaro with a look of determination as he finished bandaging Hohotaro's wounds.
