Zadi & Lagi vs. The Midway! [Lagi]

"Oh man...Syma...I can't believe she got hurt this badly. Don't worry my friend...I'll save you as soon as we can make it out of here. Just keep...umm, still and relax? Don't think you can do much else. Sorry, had to make a light joke. I can't focus otherwise..."

Zadi, Lagi, and Zygus all made it to the next room and were resting a little. Syma, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. She perished saving Zadi from only a few light bullet things that those hellish cherubs had fired off in anger and rage. However, Zadi was now permanently angrier than any other Dungeon Beast that could possibly go against him or Lagi or anyone or thing else that Zadi cared about. At this point, Zadi wouldn't care if he died from Magoi exhaustion. However, he did have to care if he wanted to revive Syma. Due to her great length, Zadi had to wrap her around his whole body, not as protection, but more as a lucky charm. Attacks would go through her and hit Zadi head on, but the point was to keep her body safe for her soul to be able to return to its lifeless body.

"Alright, resting is over, sorry, but we gotta get going now. Can't help Syma if we are still in this god-forsaken pit."

However, his mood was spoiled when he realized that he would have to fly in order to get to the end of the room. Zadi had turned around and saw nothing but the sky around the wall and door behind him and several floating buildings all around an endless looking sky! Zadi found a pebble close-by and decided to throw it to see if he could jump the distance. But more so to his surprise, there were invisible structures. Even more so however, Zadi Medmar just grunted and activated his flight spell. Zadi started to fly forward at 7 m/s, making sure that Zygus would be easily able to follow behind.

"Flying seems like the best choice here Lagi. Get on Zygus and let's move up...to the highest building..."

“Im sorry about your pet..” Lagi would say quietly as he would hop on Zygus and continue on by following along on Zygus. “His natural speed is about the same as you, so I’ll stay about two meters behind you for some safe distance. Maybe his hearing can pick up something?” Lagi would say this as he flew two meters from behind Zadi, following steadily and making sure there was enough room for Ariel movement. If they weren’t spaced out enough, they could be picked off at once. But if they were too far away, then they would be strategically separated and killed. “I’ll find a way to heal your friend, I promise. “Lagi hated himself deep down inside, he was nothing without Zygus. He could only wonder how Zadi felt.

Zygus base speed is 7 m/s, spread two meters apart from Zadi and following behind steadily.

The Enemy:

As the two men entered the Midway two sets of golden eyes had already locked on them. The eyes belonged to some of Vassago’s most trusted and skilled archers. The two females took a silent flight staying a bit away from the group, hiding among the clouds so that they could not be seen. There was only two men but a beast with them as well, a metal bird. The boys decided that the best way through this area was to take flight, what fools. Still hidden in the clouds and now only about 15 meters from the intruders each archer readied her bow. Golden light filled where the area that the arrow would be. The women without saying a word would fire off their arrows at the men who’s backs were turned to them.

Archer’s[A] arrow would be aimed for the metallic bird while her sister’s, archer [B], would be aimed at the man flying with just a staff. The two women were about 2 meters apart from each other. Being 15 meters away from their targets and their arrows moving at a speed of 15 meters per second it would take only 1 second to reach their targets. The arrows being made of pure light would make no sound as they sailed through the sky and the women being masked by the clouds would be hidden to these men. How they would fair against their assassin style attacks was yet to be seen but if they wanted to get to their master’s chambers they would have to figure out something quick.

(OOC: As it turns out, the new Item Durability System was implemented and Jael was nice enough to let my beast Syma be the first to experience this new system...so she's NOT dead! However, if you think I'm lying, then ask Jael about a ruling on whether my beast is still alive or not after the cherubs attacked.)

Zadi was flying at 7 m/s so that Zygus could stay behind without getting too exhausted. Zadi was sill saddened by the fact that Syma was dead...or so he thought! He hadn't thought about the possibility of Syma either playing dead, sleeping, or just temporarily unconscious! I know, stupid Zadi. But hey, Syma isn't dead. That pretty much is the only thing that matters for my next point to be made. Syma woke up and and started to slither around Zadi in an attempt to get to a good point at which to poke out from underneath Zadi's pink kimono. Zadi felt this happening and couldn't help but stop and scream...

"SYMAAAAAA!!! LAGI! I WAS WRONG! SHE'S STILL ALIVE!!!"

Zadi started to spin around while hugging the now poked out Syma. Syma happy to see her companion Zadi so happy. After all, it was a bit like a mutual relationship. If one was happy, the other was happy, too! However, when Zadi stopped spinning, eyes closed while he was crying and spinning, Syma was facing behind Zadi who was again facing the same direction that he had been facing before he found out that Syma was dead a few moments ago. Syma, being a snake, has a heightened sense of smell while also possessing infrared-vision, which is a type of vision that allows snakes to hunt their prey by heat rather than shapes. The clouds gave off little to no heat, making them light blue and just plain blue in color. However, Syma not only saw blue from the clouds...she say a bright red! These bright red colors were moving through the clouds at relatively fast speeds. They started to sow down and stop. Though Syma had great smell, she couldn't distinguish what kind of smell she was smelling. Sweet? Bitter? Clouds didn't' have a smell to them, so these smell must have been something other than clouds! Immediately having realized that the bright red could be something dangerous, Syma rattled her top head scales in an attempt to warn both Zygus, Lagi, and Zadi.

Zadi was happy that Syma was alive. He stopped hugging her after she started making a rattling sound. Danger!? Zadi turned around say two bright things glowing in the sky. More cherubs!? The brightness got brighter, probably indicating that the two things were getting closer. Zadi moved out of the way and noticed that they looked like arrows before he was blinded due to the sheer brightness of the passing arrows, one that had headed for Zygus and Lagi. Zadi dodged his arrow with a mid-air sidestep at 10 m/s. Zadi blinked a little to regain his sight and looked back to where the arrows were fired. Zadi knew it couldn't be anything good so he gathered all the particulates around himself within a 30 meter radius, most of which were making the clouds visible to begin with, since clouds are seen due to all the particulates within them. The clouds seemed to become transparent in the process, making it clear that the enemy was a pair of angelic looking archers. Without warning as to what Zadi would do next, he created his Ball spell from the particulates extremely quickly, less than half a second, and fired it off at both archers, the first one being the closest one to Zadi, archer{B}. The Ball moved at its maximum speed of 20 m/s, the distance being 15 meters from the closest archer. It would take less than a second to reach the archer. The second target of Zadi's was archer{A}, also very close to archer{B}. Altogether, it would still take less than a second to reach the two archers, and if lucky enough, kill them within that same second! No matter how many arrows would be fired, Zadi would both dodge and guide his Ball spell out of also getting hit. If the Ball spell got up "too close" while a light was shining from the archer's bows, Zadi would adjust accordingly before the arrow was even released. Even if the archers moved, Zadi would not let up with his Ball spell's speed and also get close by 10 m/s so as to stay within range of his Ball spell, but NOT let up on the Ball's speed of 20 m/s.

Lagi was very happy at the fact that Syma was alive. He was also very relieved, how the heck was he supposed to bring the dead back to life anyway? That would have only meant that he took up the job as a necromancer, but Lagi was underqualified in that aspect. However, that moment of happiness was only short-lived. Syma started to make a rattling sound, and it only meant one thing. For the snakes of her caliber that use an indication of warning, it would mean plenty of things. Being from the El Nagi clan, the best tamers of Reim would have to study the psychology of most animals in order to learn the effective ways to tame them. Granted, Lagi’s specialty was the avian family, but he had a general concept of the reptilians as well. The sound that Syma making served as a forewarning of territorial enclosure, she picked up on something that she wasn’t too fond of. Looking behind Zadi as well, it was probably heading straight for them.

There wasn’t any time for talking; Lagi only had to bet on the fact that it wasn’t another cherub attack, they’re attacks moved like they homed in, and it would prove to be troublesome. “Skrt!” Lagi did a small heel kick with his right heel as soon as he heard the sound that Zygus made, an indication for Zygus to perform an emergency evasive maneuver. Zygus awareness level was also changed from passive to a more battle orientated mood, and it was due to the fact that the contraction of the bow string that the angels used with their bows wasn’t as silent as the arrows themselves. Zygus wasn’t much of a stupid bird either, his previous battles with the Reim slave traders made him all too familiar with that kind of sound and what it meant. Due to these two factors of Zadi’s pet and the calibration of the bow string beforehand, Zygus already acknowledged the fact that they were in danger and was ready to move. The heel kick was prompt due to how closely Lagi rode on Zygus, and it was followed by the immediate motion of Zygus jerking quickly to that direction as soon as the heel began to touch that side of his body.

Within that one second of the bow’s calibration, which made Zygus make a sound in response to it and prompt Lagi to do a heel kick, it was that one second that was used to fare against the deadly assault of the angels. Already moving at the max speed of 7 m/s, and factoring the target of the arrow, which was flying towards Zygus’s lower back, Zygus managed to barely dodge the arrow with the right jerk dodge without loss of max speed. It would either result in a light skim or a dodge, but either way, Lagi was already formulating a counter attack. In this day and age, wooden bows were impractical. In such a place as this dungeon, the angelic bow would have to have some metallic design of the sort to support such a holy appearance. It was a risky bet, but lagi was going for it based off of a simple hypothesis, in conjunction with a counterattack as well.
Zadi’s magic cleared up the clouds, making the angel’s seeable. Zygus completes the right U-turn in an upward motion, bringing the differential range between Zygus and the angels by 8. * 7 m/s Max 1 second upward subtracted by the 15 meters= 8* Zygus fires off 10 metallic feathers that is 9 meters in length and 4 meters in width. The blades move at the speed of 15 M/S, and was fired off in the form of a split barrage spread. Five of them went towards Angel (A) angel, and five of them went towards Angel (B). However, an attack wasn’t the only purpose of the chosen technique. The metallic feathers contained particles that gave off an attracting quality towards C metals or lower, used in a more unique way. If the feathers didn’t hit them ,the attracting quality of the feathers would disarm their bows, having the bows of the angels be attracted to the metal feathers and fly off into a random direction at 15 m/s if they did dodge. Ontop of that, this would be unexpected to the angels as well, not knowing full well of Zygus’s species and capabilities.

A rattling noise filled the sky as the arrows were being launched. The women could not help but notice that there was a snake wrapped around the boy who was just flying on his own. The damn beast had given away their presence. The moment they realized that they were no longer in a good position, being too close to their targets they flapped their wings and pushed back clearing 10 meters just as the clouds in the area started to be sucked up by the man that was now 25 meters away. A mass of the clouds built up in a small ball right before his staff, as he launched the attack the woman pushed back even further clearing another 15 meters before the ball reached their previous location. (25 meters away from you and your attack moving at a speed of 20 m/s would take a full second and some change to reach them allowing them to get another 15 meters away by the time that the ball would have reached where they once were and safely out of its range). They had pushed up slightly as they drew back and were now about 5 meters above the boy with the staff and roughly 40 meters away, give a few feet.

Now that they were safe from him they noticed the bird boy had also dodged their attack, a pity that both their enemies were slightly intelligent. He was braver than the other having flown closer to the angles, while the staff wielder was 40 meters away this one was only 33 meters away (they have moved a total of 25 meters this post and started out 15 meters away from you two and based on you making yourself only 8 meters away from their first location 8+25=33 safely clearing your attacks range as well) The boy’s bird had shot a multitude of metal feathers at their location but the two had been too fast to be hit by these feathers. The two beauties had just made these foolish boys waste some of their energy while getting a decent distance from them, something that all good archers knew was essential to have.

Smiles crossed both their faces as they flapped their wings at the boys, the girls gave each other a small glance to make sure that her sister was there. They were about to start their counter attack one these foolish humans, the just hoped that they would not die so quickly good prey was hard to come by in this dungeon it seemed. Archer [A] Flapped her wings and flew higher up into the sky as she did this she approached the boys, mainly the one on the bird flying since he was the closest one. She got 5 meters closer to the boy making the distance between the two now only 27 meters. In her bow she notched another arrow and took aim at the bird that he was riding on, if she could kill the bird then the rider would fall to his death it was as simple as that. The arrow let lose flying at a speed of 15 m/s it would take nearly 2 seconds to get to it’s target but both rider and mount would be blinded by the light that it was emitting meaning they would not be able to see the next volley should we send out at them. She took off trailing behind her arrow by about 2 meters hiding in its blinding light so that her targets would not be able to see her. After clearing the next 15 meters she pulled her bow string back causing three arrows to form, in one fluid motion the arrows would shoot off, one aiming directly above the boy by 1 meter, the other two also 1 meter away from him on both sides. He could only go one direction if he wanted to escape unscathed and that was down, she was trying to force his hand, if she knew the direction her prey would go she could easily pick him off in mid flight, but first she had to see what he would try.

Now Archer [B] had watched her sister choose her prey so she knew that it must be her luck to fight the magician. She flew in a straight course heading towards the man who was still 40 meters away from her. She cleared 9 meters in less than a second, she too had flow up instead of a straight path when retreating earlier so she was also above where his location was and that blasted ball of his. She took note that she would need to get rid of that pesky thing so as she was flying those 9 meters she had noticed two arrows, one after the other and shot them at the ball hoping to either knock it away or get rid of it indefinitely. Being less than 10 meters away from the ball her arrows would reach it in no time at all, it was a small target but lucky for her she had impeccable aim. The arrows would be blinding to look upon so it would be hard for the man to judge their exact location as well as her since she was flying closely behind it. When she got to that 9 meter mark she continued to press forward hoping that the ball was gone. She pressed on until she was about 20 meters away from the man, taking nearly 1.5 seconds to get to, though a bit less than that time. When she got to the halfway mark three arrows were already notched in her bow and ready to take aim at the man and his snake. All three arrows were let lose all aiming at vital areas, head, heart, and stomach. All three would like the ones before be blinding making it hard to tell there was three of them coming let alone their exact targets. Hopefully both sisters would kill their targets quick and be done with the matter.

It seems as though the angels anticipated Zadi’s and Lagi’s attacks, so Syma stopped rattling. The Ball spell was floating at 30 meters from Zadi, not moving anywhere for the time being. The angels were each 40 meters away. They smiled and glanced at each other, giving Zadi the chance to move up 10 meters closer to the Ball spell at 10 m/s without getting noticed, since a proper "glance" takes between 1 and 2 seconds. After they glanced at each other, Angel{A} moved in, closer towards Lagi. She did some stuff and is now 20 meters away from Lagi and, give a foot or so, 20 meters from Zadi as well. Angel{B} was watching all this take place, so Zadi would take this opportunity that Angel{A} had given him, hitting her in the back with his Ball spell. Unfortunately though, Angel{A} had already fired a volley of arrows at Lagi, so Zadi would only be able to hit her afterwards. Now, the Ball, being 30 meters away from Zadi and Angel{A} being 20 meters from Zadi, the Ball spell is 10 meters vertically from Angel{A} and 2 meters horizontally. The Ball is traveling at Angel{A} from behind her making no sound at 20 m/s, right for her back, which would either kill or fatally injure her.

Angel{B} was approaching the Ball while Zadi attacked Angel{A}. She quickly shot off two arrows, but the Ball was moving so quickly in one direction that both arrows missed. However, after having successfully attack Angel{A}, Zadi instantly changed the force and direction of the Ball spell towards the now closer Angel, Angel{B}, something like…right where the Ball was, if not a couple meters away. The Ball, moving at 20 m/s, would hit Angel{B} in her head within WAY less than a second. Not enough time to react.

Both the hitting of Angel{A} and the hitting of Angel{B} would take about a little less than 1 second because it took a little over half a second to hit Angel{A} and less than half a second to hit Angel{B}, all of which was the Ball starveling at full speed, 20 m/s. Angel{A}’s plans were not interrupted and only the part of Angel{B}’s plan to hit the Ball and move passed it were interrupted. So, both Angels wouldn’t be the wiser and figure out what was happening since whatever was being planned happened. So no changing plans, cause that would be complete bull…is what Zadi was thinking after attacking the two Angels with his Ball spell.

After the attack missed, Zygus started to flap even faster, around the speed of 25 m/s. The force of his wings started to pick up intensity and speed. It gave off the illusion that the bird was starting to panic, due to the fact he missed his attack. Maybe this was the reasons why the angels looked at each other for a quick glance to confirm that their strategy was working, an action that involves the turning the head from their opponents to look at each other, and back. This action would be about two seconds; two seconds that was long enough for Zygus to pick up on his wing speed and gather current; this was also synchronized with the discreet sliding of Zygus’s feathers on his back, already detached from his body but not falling off fully. The arrow let lose flying at a speed of 15 m/s it would take nearly 2 seconds to get to its target but both rider and mount would be blinded by the light. This is true, however the strategy that was being emitted at the time wasn’t based off of evasive maneuvers, they were somewhat standing their ground in a sense. They couldn’t see, so it wasn’t in their best interest to move recklessly, this was the only option that was available, and it seemed like the smartest. Besides the two seconds that the angels took to glance at each other, there was also the calculation of the time that it would take for the angels attack to arrive, which was another two seconds. For that one second of attack arrival, Zygus’s efforts would result in the creation a massive tornado that spreads out about 30 meters from where the technique is launched. The actual size of the tornado is 15 meters in scale. Within the contents of the tornado, there are metallic shimmer shards that are 9 meters in length and 4 meters in width. The tornado can pull in those with c rank strength or lower to none within that meter range, where they will be sucked in and take damage periodically. The wind moves at the speed of 25/m's, and those sucked in would be spinning around at 25 m/s.

Now for the actual clash of the light c rank arrow moving at 15 m/s, it would be in the face of shimmer shards that are 9 meters in length and 4 meters in width, with a 25 m/s rotation speed, 10 m/s faster than the arrow. It would give one of the shimmer shards within the contents of the tornado to clash with the c rank arrow, in which each shimmer shard has the capabilities of B rank power. The light didn’t matter at this point; you didn’t need to see to flap your wings. With the angel A following behind that arrow and covering 15 meters from the 27 meters that they were apart, she would be sucked in at 25 m/s due to being well within the 30 meter coverage, as well as not contain any strength tiers whatsoever. The rapid spinning and damage from the b rank shimmer shards were definitely something to factor in, considering the original plan of Holstering three arrows and firing would take about two seconds. However, with the needless action of looking at her partner instead of keeping her eye on the prize, she wasted valuable seconds, seconds that Zygus took advantage of.

Okay after discussing this with the admins we have come to two conclussions. The first of which is Zadi ignoring the blinding effect of the arrows will have no idea where to move his ball spell so it is now destroyed, you will get the 15 magoi back to your pool. You also will be taking 2 c rank in direct damage since you also ignored the 3 arrows that were flying right at you, you may chose where they will hit you at though.

As for Lagi you will need to redo your post. We have discussed this at great length and are no longer allowing you to use your beast super hearing nor its ability to be immune to blinding effects. These abilities would have needed to be listed in the creation of the creature. You can just edit your old post for this. Note though that you will be blinded as will your pet so think smart. This non ability without it being listed in the pets page goes the same thing for Zadi's snake. If you two wish to discuss this judgement further you may contact the admins since they are the ones that have came out with this ruling.

Note: It has been 48 hours since Lagi has posted and it's been the Dungeon Beast's turn. Therefore whatever attacks the contestants launched out have automatically hit the targeted beasts no matter what.

As Angle[B]'s arrows flew at the man on the bird a tornado of wind and metal seemed to appear. The tornado would knock the two arrows that were originally headed for the man away. As the remaining three headed towards him and the tornado they would give enough damage to it to stop it spreading further than just a few meters past the boy. Thanks to B’s first two arrows only 1 arrow was needed for the force to fully shatter it leaving 2 more arrows flying right at the boy’s stomach, they were so close to him that it would be extremely difficult to even dodge the attack let alone to even try to counter. Little did the flying woman know but a pesky little attack was heading right at her direction slamming into her causing her to start to break apart into the ruhk that had been molded to create her, her arrows still stayed true though.

Now as for angle A her attacks seemed to miss the ball but had found their way to the man’s body, all five flew into his body, 1 in each arm, 1 in each leg, and 1 in the chest. A good deal of damage in total but each area was only a small bit of damage. Before she had time to revel in her small victory the same attack that killed her sister did her did and she too broke away into ruhk leaving the boys flying in the air alone.

[Zadi is in near critical condition taking a total of an Alpha and C tier in damage along with the damage he took in the first part he will need medical help asap or collapse within the next 3 post. You all may roll to see if you can go to the next area or stay here now]
