The Midway
Claiming Power: Midway [Tai/Zadi] Gem_spark_mines_bridge_by_rusty001-d2y5ltv
After climbing the long and twisting staircase one will discover a massive mine. Gold, gems, silver, copper, and any other precious metal or gems that one could think of will be being mined below by the servants of Bifrons. The players will walk in between massive corridors and narrow mining routes. If they are unlucky some of these works might cross their path and give them a challenge. They will need to walk about 300 meters to get to the core of the dungeon where Bifrons lays.

Tai stood there as both Zadi and him were going down the stairs on there way through this dungeon. Tai had a feeling that there was soon to be much unexpected things to happen and because of that it caused him to be very cautious of his surrounding as he always looked back at Zadi and sideways, and sometimes below himself just to make sure stuff wasn't following.

They would pass twenty steps by now and then Taihele would hear creaking and groaning as the sounds of shifting stones occurred. The steps behind them would begin to turn red hot and become molten before melting away until they were nothing but a thick slag clinging to the edge of the dungeon wall. Taihele eyes opened wide as he began to leap from step to step as if it was hop scotch.

"I knew something was going to happen! This goddamn' dungeon real tricky.." He said with a serious face.

As Tai would reach the end of the steps which a huge leap. Expecting Zadi to make it so they could continue on through the dungeon with more caution expecting stuff like what had just happened with the melting steps.

As he continued through the dungeon, he found himself in a massive mine. Gold, gems, silver, copper, and any other precious metal or gems. Tai couldn't believe such a magnificent sight, as he would then examine the whole area.

Tai moved on taking his attention away from the precious riches which was around him. He walked in between massive corridors and narrow mining routes."This place could get real confusing sometimes..Zadi you seem quite relaxed my friend.." He said looking behind at Zadi. Tai had really scoped out everything and even his partner movements.

When Tai first went into a dungeon he was quite lost and blinded by all it's beauty, so why wasn't Zadi acting like that?

Zadi followed behind Tai who seemed to know what to and what not to do. He knew not to touch anything until the very end and even go INTO danger rather than out of it. Well, the more obvious danger. Things like "hop-scotch rocks" and narrow passages. If the two of them went the seemingly "easier" path, then things could get ugly...like, scarlet red ugly. All the same, Zadi did the same "smart stuff" that Tai was doing for he too had experience with dungeons. But as fate would have it, Tai would only ever find out about Zadi's experiences in dire situations. If destiny were to force Zadi to use Vassago's power, then by all means destiny...RAIN DOWN THE HEAT!!! Erhm, anyway...

"Hahaha! Yeah, crazy stuff. Only ever heard that dungeons were this strange. Never thought one would have a bit of a community within its mazes."

"But I might as well gather some rukh in case some crazier...stuff...happens..."

Abilities:

The conversation between the King Vessel and the hopeful dungeon capturer would be cut short by a roar. 30m away from them, a pair of large fire elemental dragons would appear. The beasts seemingly had melted their way through the earth and emerged from a molten tunnel with a large explosion of flame and magma accompanying their appearance. The creatures noticed Tai and Zadi but did not begin moving towards them and instead appeared to be guarding the path up ahead. The fire dragons were about 3m thick in girth and their bodies were an impressive 15m long. While their heads watched the challengers, their bodies went to work using their tails to melt portions of the cavern wall seemingly to look for more minerals to be mined.

There Tai was as he communicated with Zadi walking through the midway of the dungeon with ease. They were both very calm & collected having no trouble with this dungeon. Tai heard the words Rukh come out of Zadi mouth. Tai didn't really know what exactly they were, and so he took the opportunity to figure out what exactly was Rukh..

"Hey Zadi, If you don't m---" he said as he was interrupted by a massive roar. Tai would look directly down about thirty meters as he would spot two. The fire dragons were about 3m thick in girth and their bodies were an impressive 15m long. He couldn't exactly tell, but it was just a estimate.

He looked at Zadi and gave the man a smirk."Keke...Let's go Mr Zadi." He said with a positive attitude. He was war ready, not only was it against dungeon creatures, but this was a great way to test his new found abilities.

He would begin joggin' a zig zag towards the two elemental dragons. He wasn't going to give them any chance to stop him from what he truly desired and that was the to conquer this dungeon. If Zadi could, Tai would leave the other dragon for him.

After being in jog phase he would instantly fall into sprinting, and timing his leap Tai would hold his spear infusing his Magoi into the spear with ease. He would hold it tightly coming down to attempt to slash down on the head of the fire dragon. "TAKE THIS YOU BASTARD!" He knew he was speaking to a dragon but still, it was the only way he would be fully pumped.

He just hoped that the gods and past imuchakks were watching over him seeing his incredible progress towards success. This is where Tai had no choice but to give it his all or slavery would never come to it's end.

(OOC: Italics means that Zadi is thinking to himself in his head)

It seems as though Tai and Zadi had dragged some attention towards themselves with the appearance of two serpent-like creatures. They looked rather molten and ferocious! Tai charged on ahead more towards the serpent on the right meaning Zadi would take the one on the left. However, Zadi would stay out of the way a little. Close combat is probably not the greatest of ideas until the serpents get physically weaker or just plain slower. Stayed where he was in order to have good "leveraged range" on the left serpent. The left one is Zadi's target, pretty much "alone" so to speak. Zadi had already gathered enough Rukh for his highest ranking spell. Being 30 meters away was perfect for Zadi's Kthyr Alyzr spell. He created a single ball with A-tier force (20 lasers grouped together) and fired off the grand laser in the direction of the left serpent at 25 m/s. The laser would reach the chest area of the serpent, point Zadi was aiming, in 1.12 seconds. It could end up dealing A-rank damage...as far as Zadi knew. Obviously if the laser missed but was still within range of the target, Zadi would direction the laser accordingly. Zadi just need to wait and see what would happen while keeping his dungeon-buddy within his peripheral vision.

The sluggish movements of the Imuchakk were as if Tai were moving in slow motion in comparison to the swift Fire Elemental. The beast watched his approach patiently waiting until he was 15m away to swipe its tail through the air unleashing a Blaze Whip which would burn through the air at 15m/s giving the Imuchakk a mere second to dodge. This attack would come long before he was within range of the beast making it unlikely that he would still make use of his magoi manipulation feat. The arc of flames was long but not very wide making it possible to avoid if Tai dodged to one side or the other, but this would halt his advance for a few precious seconds.

The other Fire Elemental was preparing to follow up it's counterparts attack with one of it own, however the distant magician performed a spell the Beast didn't see coming until it was too late. There was not enough time to dodge the incoming beam of strength and light magic as it pierced through the air towards its target. The beam would crash into the magma body of the beast only to have the heat absorbed from the light. Unfortunately for the Fire Elemental, this spell also possessed strength magic. The damage was cut in half but it was still effective and obliterated the fire dragon's mid section. The beast fell to the ground lifeless as its body began to dissolve leaving a cooling line of slag where its body landed.

((Because the Fire Elemental attacked before Tai entered range, he may decide to change his actions leading up to his first attack so his ability was not used yet, or he may use the ability to counter the incoming fire arc. It is up to him whether or not he wants to save the magoi or make use of it.))

There Tai was as he ran in a zig zag towards the two fire elemental dragons, it was obvious they were strong and from the looks of it very dangerous.

He didn't really want to take any chances, but while he held his spear about to leap to take flight off the ground from his left he noticed the monster swayed it's tail with fire whipping it.

"Oh damn that was close..I better watch out.." He said wiping the sweat which he exaggerated since sweat wasn't even on his forehead.

Then he would wiggle from almost jumping catching his balance. Tai placed his heel onto the ground and decided with no hesitation he continued on towards the beast by foot, and by now he was at a decent distance. Tai concentrated his Magoi into his spear with ease. He took his spear placing it to his side which the elemental dragon was on.

He leaned over as if he was moving, and in with no time moving at a full burst of fifteen m/s towards the beast. Tai would pass the beast as if nothing happened, but an attempted slash to the side of the beast would appear which was doubled the damage because of his Magoi manipulation technique equipped.

"You're finished.." He said not knowing the true outcome, but still decided to predict what would be of the elemental dragon.

As it would seem to Zadi, the left serpent was defeated by means of Zadi's laser technique. However, as Zadi had predicted, close combat against molten creatures was and still seems to be something rather risky. However, Tai seemed to know his way and was able to do a trick or two, Zadi couldn't tell, in order to dodge some risky business. Even more so however, Zadi knew that remaining serpent would fight harder to keep guard over the dungeon now that its partner was slain so abruptly...kind of surprising to be honest. The serpents must have limited vision or something. But just in case, Zadi didn't take vision into account with the remaining creature in case it ended up having the greatest vision of all beings in the known world. Zadi would start walking with his hands in his sleeves, Syma wrapped around both the Gawking Heron staff and Zadi's arm, and Zadi taking hold of the golden fan in case he had to come into the fray once more. His pace was rather quick for a walk being 1.5 m/s. Zadi wouldn't run due to his confidence in Tai's strength...and his magoi reserves. He just used a whopping 16% of his magoi on that one serpent. From his other dungeon experiences, reserves are what count in the end...

The final fire elemental was now aware of it's fallen comrade and became enraged letting out a roar as it's fiery whip reached Tai only for the Imuchakk to barely dodge it. The Fire Elemental glared at the challenger and snarled as it watched him perform a leap forwards. There was little time for the beast to do anything, but using its powers of Flight the dragon was able to gain a short burst of speed at 20m/s allowing it to ascend upwards out of reach of the Imuchakk's attack. As Tai ceased his movements the flaming beast formed a circle with its body and released a Ring of Fire downwards at 20m/s to surround Tai on all sides with a 10m high wall of B-tier flames. The Imuchakk was in no danger of being burned unless he tried to escape the walls of flame before they faded, but he was also trapped there for the time being(2 posts).

With this combatant's movements likely sealed, the Fire Elemental turned it's attention to the cursed magician which had killed its kin. The beast flew towards Zadi at 15m/s letting our an earth shaking cry as it opened its mouth and unleashed a Breath of Flames upon him. The attack would come from 15m away and move at a speed of 20m/s. The 3m diameter cone would threaten to wash Zadi in flames and while his borg could negate the initial damage, it would not hold long enough to stop it all considering just how long the dragon could keep the stream of fire up.

There Tai was as he felt like he had the elemental dragon now. In his mind he was thinking if Zadi could do it, so could he, but once leaning over to attack the beast he rethought his statement. He would notice as the dragon would've took flight and left a wall of fire which was spread out around Tai.

It was really tall and gave Tai not one crack he could possibly get out of. He would stand there with the intense flames burning which was never ending. The beast didn't even bother to play around with Tai and decided that it would go take it's chances with Zadi.

It got Tai aggravated that Zadi was able to kill one, but Tai couldn't. This happened in Gusion, with his partner defeating the monsters which was Tai's responsibility. For the timing while he was in this circle of fire the only thing he could do was hope & pray that Zadi would take down the elemental dragon.

Even if Tai didn't get the kill, the feeling of knowing his comrade is safe & sound was the best feelings for Tai. As he just stood in the center while intense flames surrounded him.

As it would seem to Zadi, the remaining serpent was able to out maneuver Tai unbelievable speed and agility. It was hard to imagine such speed for a physical body motion seeing as Zadi had only ever experienced a speed of 15 m/s using his Djinn Equip. However, not only did the serpent dodge an attack but it also trapped Tai in a circle of flames and rage! Zadi already felt the terrible vibe from the remaining serpent as it seemed to start blowing something that Zadi only recognized as a "chance" to use his borg. Not really something he would actually want to use but it might as well be used now. The cone of flames hit Zadi's borg defense, keeping them at bay for the time being. Zadi knew that if this torrent of flames was a sustained type of technique then his borg would be incinerated in a short while so Zadi used his borg defense as a distraction to tell the Rukh to gather sand, dust, and other particulates underneath the serpents head which was only 15 meters away from Zadi. The Rukh did their job and Zadi's Ball technique was created, crashing upwards at a speed of 20 m/s from 15 meters underneath the serpent's head, specifically the soft spot between his chin, lower jaw, and throat (underneath the area where a human's tongue would be)...if that was a "soft spot" like a human's...if not then Zadi would be out of luck and incinerated only moments after failing to take down the serpent...shame...

The Fire Elemental's flames would continue to be released in a stream even as the magician's borg formed and eventually shattered. Because he did not make any efforts to actually move away from the Breath of Flames, Zadi and his pet which was present around his neck would both take B-tier fire damage in the form of 2nd degree burns as clothes and flesh ignited. The wounds would be severe, however the sacrifice was not in vain. Before the borg fully gave way to the torrent of inferno Zadi's Ball spell formed and slammed into the dragon's lower jaw forcing it's maw shut. The residual flames left over were what had washed over Zadi, but no more would come after the Fire Elemental's jaws were forcefully shut. The impact of the ball had been enough to jar the beast's skull effectively enough to defeat it, however forcing the mouth closed only made its death all the more exciting to watch.

The flames built up in it's body and increased in pressure until an internal explosion wracked the Fire Elemental's body. The heat did no real damage to it's magma flesh, but the force tore it's entire body apart causing the beast to explode in a brilliant display of light and fire. It's flesh then fell to the stone floor as smouldering chunks of molten rock that were quickly cooling into obsidian. With the elemental's death, the fire ring around Tai would slowly fade away leaving only a charred circle on the ground as evidence that it were ever there in the first place.

[You may now roll the Go Dice. Zadi and his beast have both taken B-tier damage and will continue to take B-tier burn damage once per turn for two turns unless the flames are put out.]

Tai stood there in the intense red burning flames which surrounded him. They were so hot he began to sweat in the extreme hot fire. For some reason he wondered what really lurked beyond the dungeon, he had drifted from the situation. Really just thinking about it made his mouth drool.

As the temperature around Tai would chance in minutes and he would return back to scene. The fire circle or whatever it was leaving him unable to move had vanished. He noticed that his comrade Zadi was covered in flames and so was his pet.

With no hesitation, Tai sprinted straight to his comrade and gripped his spear very tightly. With a slight 360 degree turn sideways slashing down his spear while his foot would also come down. It would cause a B tier wind gust to snuff the flames off his comrade.

He would stay close to grab Zadi just incase he would drop. "Stay strong Zadi...We're almost done my friend." He said.

Zadi fought harder than Tai, and right now he couldn't have that. If he was going to conquer this dungeon he would have to protect his comrade no matter what. The next monster they saw would not lay a hand on Zadi if so Tai would feel very upset.

After successfully defeating the serpent, the borg broke (even though it could theoretically last for one post of B-tier damage) causing Zadi and Syma to be burned by the remaining flames. The Ball spell hit, but disappeared due to Zadi's injuries which were still persisting. However, Zadi had dealt with worse wounds...but not burns specifically. All the same, after Tai came to the rescue, he helped Zadi and Syma with a gush of wind so that the flames wouldn't keep burning. Unfortunately for Zadi, his staff had been burned to a crisp. All that was left of the Gawking Heron staff were the ashes that were once the wood of the staff...shame. However, all was not lost. He wouldn't be able to use magic for a while, but he could at least use his Djinn Equip. The fire was strong, but not enough to burn the specific region where his Metal Vessel was hiding. Zadi slowly got up and tried not to move too suddenly as his skin might end up breaking apart from being so dry. He was bleeding from where he was burned, but not enough to end his life anytime soon. Syma was doing better as she was smaller and mostly covered by Zadi when the flames struck. Tai and Zadi then continued onwards in hopes of reaching the end soon...
