Minerva craned her neck to the side, the solid, repetitive crack of the dissipating ache in her neck leaving her body was the only sound that pushed it's way through the scorching air around her. She had paid for travel to Heliohapt, assuring Yushin that she would meet him there after attending to her own personal business. It took longer than she had hoped for, and she had ended up leaving a full day later than she had expected, but nonetheless she was winding her way through the desert with a simple caravan, having taken the extra precaution to afford them more water than they had originally intended they bring. They were certainly thankful for it. It had taken a single day of travel through the perilous terrain before they were halfway down on their original load, and with two days of travel left they would have had to turn back had it not been for Minerva's overly cautious attitude.
She walked along side the caravan most of the time, wrapped in a white garb to ward off the heat radiating not only from the air around her, but from the endless sea of sandy dunes that swallowed the horizon line with cascading hill after hill. She had taken to reading in the evening, the caravan camping at small waypoints established by travelers before them. The Heliohaptan history interested her greatly, and with the various rulers and structures that had been erected by the ancient cultures, she was eager to see what the city had to offer. Her cowl fell down around her shoulders, hair blowing at a tilt in the arid desert wind as she cast her gaze into the setting sun.
Tomorrow would hold a new experience for her. A new city, a new culture, and new acquaintances. She would greet the morning with an apprehension, and a mild headache from the particularly strong rum that one of the Balbaadi merchants had happened to bring along (although it was extremely delicious, tasting of cinnamon and some spices she couldn't quite place.) She smiled to herself as the skyline of the city crept over the horizon, the scent of freshwater near the city washing into her nose. It wasn't a scent she was aware of, but after the time she had spent in the desert it was certainly one that she would never take for granted. With a hopeful gaze, and the possibility of great things in her future, she stepped down from the caravan, resuming her walking towards the city alongside the caravan master.
