Opponent-Rufi:

The roar of the most famous wonder in Reim rang deafeningly through the white haired youth's head. Why was he here? How did he even end up inside this amazingly large arena? The truth of the matter was that, he found himself coming willingly. Frankly, the many remarks about the young man's doings have reached far and wide throughout the reaches of Reim. The only adventure that he had yet to cross was the coliseum. At first it was mere curiosity. He would take his seat amongst the hundreds of blood-lusting spectators. From the very beginning, it was made potently apparent that this coliseum was far from similar to the duel ring. For starters, the duel ring was comprised of fellow warriors, warriors with a code of honor. The atmosphere was very intense yes, but there was respect and support amongst the fighters. But here, here there was no such thing. Blood. They only wanted blood. They wanted to see the glory of blood, the glory of death. The killing to these people, it was just a show, and form of entertainment to amuse themselves.

It was a clever ploy really. It didn't take a genius for him to figure out the significance of this coliseum. "It's a way to occupy the masses." Of course, the coliseum itself must have brought in quite the revenue as well, and knowing a city-state, revenue was a good thing.

Now, the invitation to participate didn't surprise Yushin in the slightest bit. In fact, he had expected it, and once it came he accepted the offer appreciatively. The Sangju man did have his honor, but he knew that his life of nobility was behind him. Yet, this did not mean that he had tossed aside his values. At his core, he was a hwarang, and with this title came responsibilities. If he could spread the spirit of his people to these foreigners, Yushin would not mind to get his hands slightly dirty.

Lean, very lean. His opponent no doubt was the quick type, but this was of no hindrance to him. Yushin in his own right was fast, and when it came to speed, he wouldn't allow himself to lose. By the posture of his opponent, Yushin deduced that the fight was manageable.

The fight began, and this 'Rufi' made the first move by lunging a Forward Cleave. By noticing the prior movement of Rufi's joints, Yushin deftly avoided the attack. Immediately after doing so, he realized that his previous assessment was slightly off. There was deadly power behind that attack. he took great notice once more at his opponents posture and came to another conclusion. Ah, the defensive type. He decided to test his hypothesis.

Closing the gap between he and his opponent, Yushin dashed forward and gave a lunge of his own. Rufi, who had anticipated this attack, prepared his steadfast hold to counteract this lunge. Yushin's opponent took his shield and raised it to counter the white haired man's attack. Hypothesis comfirmed.

It was a feint, and a clever one at that. Yushin's blade never even touch Rufi's shield, rather last minute he swerved his geom and his body to meet Rufi head on. He sent another slash to the torso. With a hurried reaction, Rufi countered the blade with his shield, using it as a sliding board to fend off the attack.

With nothing more than a smile, Yushin took advantage of the situation. The block was an overhead one, therefore, his opponent was temporarily blinded. Slithering to the shield side of his opponent, he sent two cross blades at the foe and aimed for the shield arm. With a grunt, Rufi had no choice but to let go of his shield as his arm was now injured.

"Now it's my turn. I'll play your game. Yushin raised his right hand and slashed with his geom. Rufi, even though disabled, was a trained fighter and instinctively he went to parry the sword with his free hand. Too bad it was another feint. At the last moment, Yushin feinted and followed rather with a sneaky hwando behind the shadow of the geom, it was a little brother strategy. With no time to react, Rufy took the full blunt of the hwando and fell to his knees, clearly shaken. Without allowing time to retaliate, Yushin dealt a scalding slash accompanied quickly by a snap of his leg. Fallen, the opponent was left with no strength to continue. With nowhere to run, Yushin took his geom and placed the ice hold blade up to the neck of his opponent. The crowd screamed and yelled for him to finish off Rufi, the man who had fought so valiantly for their entertainment. His eyes drifted not towards the crowd, but to the man's, and withdrawing his geom, he took Rufi's hand and helped him to his feet.

Another roar, but this time, one of disappointment, and half of approval. He had gotten their attention, one way or another.

He didn't wave, he didn't cheer triumphantly, rather, he only bowed not to the crowd, but to his fallen foe. "I'll be back, and I'll show these people, the beauty of life." Then he left, and that was that.
