Herbs Gatherer [Job/Solo]

The sun shone so bright it pierced to the room, disturbing the black haired girl deep sleep. Noir was having a late sleep last night because of the piles of book beside her bed, she has been reading it since it was her day off today and no classes or activities at all. Suddenly, someone knocked her door and she grunted, wondering why this certain person interrupted her in the morning just when she needs all the sleep. She quickly opened the door, didn’t care even though she was still in her pajama.

“Morning.”

She saw redhead and quickly slammed the door, but the certain redhead blocked the door with his hand.

“I’ll report you… this is female’s dorm…”

Noir glared to Rufus, but the redhead replied with smile as he handed over a piece of paper, assignment letter was written on it, it said that 1st Kodor student must have a partner and the partner can be from another Kodor if they wanted to. Noir sighed, she knew she couldn’t refuse since Rufus will go as far as abduct her to go with him.

They walked down from the cart, thanking the merchant for taking them to The Plains. Noir saw the scenery and become amazed by it, she never been here and the refreshing breeze made her relaxed.

“I will go to the hill for a while and we are done.” He said, making a happy face to Noir.

“So… why do I have to accompany you…”

“Hnn… just taking you for a walk. You know, I thought you might be bored. You can go rest at the farm area, so until then~.”

Then Rufus left before she can punch him on the face, she grunted and started heading to the farm, hoping to find a good place to sleep. But well, he might be right, since Noir have finished her books, she didn’t have any certain activity to kill time.

Suddenly, Noir heard a commotion and she saw a kid begging at some adults. But he was ignored and refused, one of them went as far as hitting him but she quickly blocked the hand, protecting the kid.

“You okay?”  Noir asked the kid, checking for any injuries, but the kid started to cry. Noir confused and take him to her arms, hugging him tightly to calm him. Then she asked for his name, which the kid replied as Philippe. He took Noir to his home, she realized that the crops seemed to be wilting and it seemed that the mother was ill; Noir assumed that Philippe was begging the adult to help him to treat his mom.

“I need to find a certain herbs, but I cannot leave my mom. Besides, my little sister cannot be left alone… So, can you help me to find it? It’s just over the hill, north from here.” He was about to cry when explaining this.

“What does the herbs’ looks like?”

Philippe quickly took out some papers and started drawing the shape and also the colors of the herbs, he showed an incredible talent in art for to be able to draw something so accurate and moreover, it looked very real.

Noir quickly headed for the hill while bringing the picture and began the search. While she could easily find the other herbs, the last herb was rather hard to find, she had been looking for a long time but she couldn’t seem to find it. But just when Noir climbed the hill, she found it, well Philippe did explain that one of the herbs was located on the top of the hill, she had forgotten about it.

After checking for the last time for the herbs that were needed, Noir headed back to the house bringing the herbs, the boy looked very happy when Noir delivered the herbs. Then the black haired girl remembered that she brought some food, so she decided to give it to them. She left the house and Rufus has already finished his needs as he was sitting in front of the house.

“Having fun?”

“I gave them the lunch…”

“Nah, no problem, I bring some food too. After this, let’s go back.” Rufus grinned while taking out some food, Noir responded with a little smile. They ate happily.
