Figuro still had not made time for training her and gave her a nudge toward another job. He was vague as to why he wanted her to do jobs instead of training her magical skills, but he was one of the more respected magicians in the area and so she would listen to him for now. Besides, she was itching to do some damage and to stretch her magical skills. Figuro had informed her of an issue with some slave traders and suggested she should take care of it. This job required a tiny bit of research, however. She needed to locate the slavers, and so she took to the streets. The area some of the people had been taken from was centered in a fairly small area and so she began scouting the area. As she wandered through the alleys, her eyes were sharp. It was dark, but there were plenty of stars out. She resisted the urge to stop and stargaze, remembering that she was supposed to be doing a job.
It took three days to find a hint of where the slavers might be taking people. Ariella was not able to confirm it until the fourth day when she noticed a man dragging someone down the street, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. Quietly, she followed him to a building, taking note of where she was and the building. Once the man had entered the building with the person, she sneaked closer, trying to peak through the boarded up windows. A crack in one of the windows showed a glimpse of what appeared to be a young girl on the floor, bound and gagged. Ariella growled in anger. Though slavery was a widely accepted practice in most parts of the world, she had some standards. Kidnapping was not on the list of acceptable methods.
