Quest:

Tiberius has passed the test with flying colors. The Senior smith and the detachment he traveled with inside the cave all praised his performance. This news reached the Legate and he decided to make Tiberius a permanent part of his staff. He appointed Tiberius as an apprentice smith for his legion.

"Welcome to the team." Quaerter Brutus pats Tiberius on his back. "As your first order of business we would like you to make as many swords as you can within a week."

At last Tiberius' long winded plan is starting to bear fruit. He finally managed to get some work for their shop. Probably not right now but eventually his reputation would spread across not only inside the capital but even all of Reim. Just thinking about it brings a smile to his face. This is the only way he is able to repay the kindness of the couple that took care of him for all those years.

But right now he have to do this on his own. If he let his foster father help him, he wouldn't be able to improve his own skills. So Tiberius buckled down and started crafting the orders.

He estimated that he can build at most 2 swords per day. The smithing technique he use is very time consuming. The folding of the tempered metal multiple times is a long process. He wants to make the swords faster but he doesn't want to compensate for the quality.

Tiberius almost forgot about Sara. All this time he's only using Sara as an assistant helping him with his crafting. Maybe Sara can also do some simple tempering like folding the metal and making layers. Tiberius tried teaching Sara by imputing the command in it to temper the sword blanks.

Tiberius finished encoding the commands into Sara and watch it work. So far so good, every step was replicated completely by Sara. There was some small misstep here and there but he immediately corrected it by changing a small portion of the command. After a while Sara is able to make the sword blanks autonomously he was even pleasantly surprised to see that the output speed of Sara is higher than when he was the one doing it.

With this Tiberius managed to triple his manufacturing speed, he was able to make 6 swords per day. The quality of the swords are comparable to what he made before if not even better. He continue on the job and at the end of the week he was able to make 40 swords ready to be delivered to the camp.

The quarter master was impressed with the result of the test. He expected Tiberius to make 10 swords in that time frame maybe a maximum of 15, that was the usual production speed of an apprentice. Tiberius goes way above and beyond his expectations but he couldn't show it openly in fear of being seen as having bias.

"Great job. I would like you to continue your work. Next time we're expecting a hundred swords as soon as possible." The quartermaster shows a hint of smile as he pats Tiberius on the shoulder and walked away.
