8 is B [Class Upgrade C->B]

Day 1
Eight had decided that he would take his training to the next level, but perhaps an animal that was hard to communicate with, so far away from being human was not the right path for him. So he had resolved himself to experimenting with his current insects to learn more about animals and then going to see Tsuki and Sharram to help decide what kind of animal would be best for him. They both had different perspectives on what made a good pet.

But first thing was first. he wanted to remove any attachments before proceeding forth with his new path

Day 2
Eight had gotten some time for himself to work on himself so he could better serve Ramses. It was quickly approved, but Eight was starting to no longer believe that. His ambitions were becoming bigger, his improving 'value' was on track to surpass Ramses.

He took 'infinity' with him into a private tent and he brought many small tools, his intention was now to dissect his beasts to see what made the insects work. He created small holes into the jar of beetle, then he held them with pliers over a fire, which forced them to gather away. He felt even less remorse for the insects since they were so ... faceless. Made it hard to relate to them.

With that, he put some green leafery over the fire, which started to burn and smoke up. This was a tip from Tsuki, using smoke to turn the beetles unconscious, making it much easier to 'experiment' on them. Training them to do what you wanted, especially in the fear of death was nearly impossible.

Eventually they stopped flapping their wings or clinging to the walls and fell to the bottom of the jar, extremely close to the fire. He stopped the flames and opened the jar, pouring the beetles over a stone slab table. He left about half in the jar, making sure they were restrained for the extent of his experimentation.

He knew a bit about the creatures and he wanted to peel them in layers. He put on a pair of magnifying glasses and got two scalpels. He pinned a single bug of the infinity swarm down and separated the body from a single wing. He would cut into the wing and flipped up a few more dials on his magnifying glasses to get a better look. The veins of the insects wings were intriguing and so was the exoskeleton of the beasts. He continued to the other wing and removing it completely, examining it up close.

He then started toying with it's structures. Fiddling with a tymbals, which when tapped made a loud noise, and depending on where it was hit, caused a different noise. Then he popped it, which lead to a percussionist bone which hit against it to create noises. then he was too curious and he pierced into it's stomach to see how the fluid inside them work.

The bioluminescent fluid popped causing light corrosive burns into the scalpels. They would explode on any real damage it seemed but this would be enough for him. He kept experimenting with them and destroyed them until there were no more.

Day 3
He would go to see Tsuki first. He seemed like a wise man, and he definitely had quite an impressive snake to seemingly waste on dying by Alexander's hand. As Alexander sought him out, he told him a few of his key lists on what he wanted out of a beast.
Alexander wanted something easy to train, something small, and something useful. Tsuki had known that Alexander had the swarm of bugs, but he also knew how hard it was to train insects.

"If you want something easy to train, you want something smart, like a mammal with a big appetite. Then you just find a small one, and usefulness... that depends on the tamer."

Tsuki would share tips and lists of animals that would fit into that description and a few of them seemed like interesting choices.

Day 4
Now he would go see Sharram and speak with him at length about the same things he spoke about with Tsuki. They had pretty similar opinions on the mater, which showed they were both of a high caliber in their craft, but Sharram had made a specific suggestion about rats. They were pretty easy to obtain and then if you liked how they turned out, you could look into specific breeds of the creature to train with and raise into your primary beast of choice, some of them were even known for going into swarms, and some people like to say quality over quantity, but quantity is a quality.

Day 4
Now that he had a specific recommendation, he decided it would be best to try them out. He went to seek out some rats but fortunately, Tsuki had caught wind of 8s talk with 1 and had a specific rat delivered to him with a hand wirtten note on beautiful stationary. He let it out and it was breathing heavily and looking all around. Which was explained in the letter, separation anxiety from being split from its pack. Throughout the day, Alexander would offer the rat some treats and observe it's behavior with minimal interactions to see what would happen, taking notes about the rat and how he felt about it.

Day 5

After reviewing his notes and writing more notes, he decided to spend the time training the rat. The rat would spend time looking at his gaze and looking at the food and paying attention in general. There was an instant connection, and the training went very well. As the training happened, the rat grew fond of him, listened and was calm when 8's hands handled him. Alexander would name him, but that would make the following actions even worse.

Alexander brought the same tools that he used on his beetle, the rat was still as naive as ever even when restrained with chains to its back, and then he began to vivisect the rat, and it finally panicked. His notes doubled in size as he went into the night with much more information about beasts.
