Nero was now through with his second Coliseum battle; after having a close match with Rocky and his second match with Polliver, he felt that he was on a hot streak of sorts, having ended two hot streaks in his first two matches. He had been gaining a small amount of recognition on the streets, and he no longer felt as nervous when he entered the arena. Speaking of which, taking a jump to the present…
He stood, wearing the same baggy pants and bracers that he had worn in the past two battles, as well as his necklace- which, as before- still had no combative properties. He was facing an opponent this time who had less information concerning “win streaks” and kills, but was still known as a man with an aggressive and explosive fighting style. He was excited to learn more about this opponent, and he walked out to the ring with an air of confidence and enthusiasm. His face still bore the stoic expression which he so frequently wore, but there was a little bit of pep in his step. As usual the announcer blared out his introduction, welcoming everyone to the arena, and so on and so forth. This time, however, he introduced Nero’s opponent first.
ON YOUR LEFT… HAILING FROM MAGNOSTADT… THE EXPLOSIVE COMBATANT, THE FEROCIOUS FANALIS- HIS NAME… ZAI!
Another Fanalis, huh? No wonder. Like he constantly reminded himself, the Fanalis were a race specially designed to be fighters. That man’s reputation made sense now- explosive.
AND ON YOUR RIGHT… ON A HOT STREAK… HAILING FROM REIM… ANOTHER FANALIS, PRIMED TO FIGHT- HIS NAME… NERO REGIS!
He met Zai in the center of the arena. The opposing Fanalis wore dark garbs, and had long, red hair. No words needed to be exchanged; a battle between Fanalis, both unarmed, was about to ensue. Nero’s eyes met Zai’s, and a nervous excitement seemed to be shared. Nero knew that there was one strategy which he had not tried yet which might give him an edge in this sort of combat. The past two opponents whom he had fought always made sure to strike first, making an impression and gaining control over the battle. Nero believed that in order to tilt the match in his favor he would need to do something similar. He began to bend his knees slightly, preparing to leap upwards.
LET THE BATTLE…
The bend became slightly greater.
BEGIN!!!
As soon as the match started Nero bent down and leapt upwards, twisting his body in such a way that he would land a kick to Zai’s head- this was Nero’s Enzuigiri maneuver. However, he felt his foot getting slapped out of the way by Zai’s Bursting Parry. Zai then sidestepped, making his way towards Nero’s right side. Nero sensed there would soon be trouble; he took off, running, while Zai gave chase. They both sprinted at about the same speed, before Zai stopped. Nero stopped as well, 5 meters away from Zai. The two men faced each other and looked their opponent in the eye. Nero felt like something was coming; he began to shift into a more defensive stance, raising his arms. As soon as he began to do this, Zai burst forward, spinning his body in a corkscrew motion, aiming a Bursting Strike for Nero’s chest. Nero managed to get his guard up just on time, as he used his Exeo Minor ability to swat Zai’s hand downwards before he could be struck, directing the attack towards the ground. The earth at Nero’s feet shattered upon impact of the strike, creating a 5m crater. The impact knocked Nero away; he moved through the air and landed at the crater’s rim. Zai looked up at him; he was at the center of the crater. Nero, assuming there was an opening, leapt upwards and dove into the crater, aiming an axekick towards Zai. Zai dodged nimbly, and attempted a fist strike towards Nero, who blocked and jumped back. Another standoff. The crowd, excited by the speed and explosive power displayed during this bout, was going wild. Zai leapt out of the crater, and Nero followed him. Nero delivered two jabs, which Zai dodged, but then feinted and delivered a strike to the gut, which connected. Zai cried out in pain, and recoiled, before charging in once more. However, disgruntled, Zai made a mistake; he charged in, preparing to throw a running punch. As soon as his fist extended, once it became convenient, he took a diagonal step to the side, using his Flow Step ability, and ended up somewhat behind Zai. Zai turned, in a fury, and attempted to aim a strike at Nero’s head; however, Nero planted his feet on the ground, ducked to dodge the strike, wrapped his arms around Zai’s waist, lifted him up, and slammed him down on his spine, showcasing his Tower Crash ability. At this point, Zai stopped moving. Nero claimed the victory once again, adding another opponent to his list of victories.
OOC: Nero's Basic Strike = B-tier damage. Tower Crash = B-tier damage. B+B = A-tier damage, game over.

@TAG: SHORT NOTE
magoi | wordcount | stamina
WC: 830/800
STAMINA: 220/300
MAGOI: 50/50
- abilities used:
Enzuigiri
Tier: D
Class: Warrior
Type: Offensive
Range: Close / Short
Requirements/Drawbacks: Character squats somewhat, bending his knees and preparing himself to leap upwards.
Scaling: Hits (+10 Stamina to double amount of strikes.)
Sustain: N/A
Cool Down: 1 Post
Cost: 10 Stamina +10 per Hits Scaling
Description:
In a single quick maneuver, the character leaps upwards and maneuvers his body to aim a kick to the side or back of a target’s head, which deals D-tier damage, but factors in the racial Fanalis strength trait. This attack can be performed from in front or behind the target and takes place very quickly and at close range. The character can scale the amount of hits upward to turn this attack into a flurry of kicks instead of just one, doubling the amount of strikes for every 10 additional stamina expended.
Exeo Minor
Tier: D
Class: Warrior
Type: Defensive
Range: Close
Requirements/Drawbacks: Character has arms raised in a defensive position, ready to intercept a strike, with the left arm guarding the face and the right arm extended somewhat, guarding against an incoming strike. Character must have free hands.
Scaling: Damage: +10 Stamina for every additional tier parried.
Sustain: N/A
Cool Down: 1 Post
Cost: 30 (SCALED TO B)
Description:
Using bracers or his forearms, the character swats away an incoming melee attack at D-tier, be it unarmed or armed. He can expend extra stamina to block higher-tier attacks.
Tower Smash (Snap Spinebuster)
Tier: B
Class: Warrior
Type: Offensive
Range: Close / Short
Requirements/Drawbacks: Character and target must be facing each other. Character's feet are rooted into the ground providing a sturdy base, knees are bent slightly in case the character needs to leap.
Scaling: Range, +10 Stamina for every 3m travelled.
Sustain: N/A
Cool Down: 3 posts
Cost: 30 Stamina +10 for every 3m travelled.
Description:
The character grabs a forward-facing opponent around the waist before very quickly lifting them upwards and slamming them down onto the ground, dealing B-tier damage, which scales with the Fanalis racial bonuses. Because the main target of this maneuver is the opponent’s spine, full-body numbness may occur for a single post duration, which limits movement. Can be executed as a counter to an opponent who is running towards the character. If the target is not within close range of the character when the ability is used, extra stamina can be extended to dash 3m towards the target, with a cost of 10 stamina per extra 3m. In the event that an opponent is leaping towards the character, he can leap upwards, wrap his arms around that opponent’s waist, and slam them forward from the air to the ground.
Flow Step
Tier: D
Class: Warrior
Type: Defensive
Range: Close
Requirements/Drawbacks: Character is in a battle stance with his dominant leg slightly forward, preparing to dash a short distance and evade a maneuver.
Scaling: Distance (+10 Stamina for every additional 5m)
Sustain: N/A
Cool Down: 1 Post
Cost: 10 Stamina + 10 per each additional 3m travelled.
Description:
The character, in a bid to escape an oncoming attack, quickly steps in a direction either 1m sideways or diagonally, towards / around the opponent. If the character steps diagonally towards the opponent he can quickly locate himself right behind his target to chain this maneuver into a counter attack of his choosing. If the character needs to, he can expend +10 Stamina for any extra distance up to 3m.
- zai:
Enemy Name: Zai
Rank: B
Needed damage to take down: A-tier
Abilities: This rising favorite, another Fanalis warrior, moves at a base speed of 10m/s and 15m/s when sprinting. As a Fanalis, he fights with his bare hands and relies on muscle memory from past battle experience of the fights he has been in to get him through a match. Just recently arrived from Heliohapt three months ago, he has become known enough that people look forward to his show of brute strength.
Bursting Parry ~ Zai quickly slaps an attack out of the way from going towards him by aiming for the hand that holds the weapon or is delivering the attack while simultaneously side-stepping the attack. This defends against a single attack that would deal B-Tier damage.
Bursting Strike ~ Using his strength to his advantage, Zai delivers a corkscrew punch to his opponent. This punch delivers B-Tier damage, which spreads in a 5 meter area when it strikes a target. If hitting the ground, this would effectively destroy a portion of the ground with explosive force.
Flurry of Blows and Feints ~ Zai delivers 5-10 punches, each of which imparts D-Tier damage to a target struck. Some of these punches are used as feints, while others are meant to strike an opponent in places that would disorient them.
