A lot of members on the site have already expressed their dislike of the four thread limit rule, and I have to rather agree with them. It can be rather stifling, especially if one is going through the process of upgrading their character. It holds people back from doing socials for fear of having their already so limited slots taken up, and when someone has all four of their threads locked while waiting for approval, it can get bothersome.
While I'm not suggesting outright removal of the thread limit, could we possibly lift it? Raise the thread limit from only four IC threads to either six or even eight. Possibly active members could be rewarded with a larger thread limit for their continued activity and work on the site?
I'm all ears for any suggestions or criticisms on my "suggestion" and thank you for reading through it. If there's anything anyone believes I had forgotten, please inform me!

i gotta agree with you. not that i'm usually full on the thread count limit, but i'm not too fond of the four count limit. of course, what im even less fond of is the two job count limit. i believe it was created as motivation so that ppl would actually finish jobs, but... its only motivation for the person who has all slots taken up. and if it fails... well... then someone might be stuck with two job slots being filled bc the person has yet to reply.

I could definitely consider lifting it completely or at least raising the cap. If I raise the cap, I'll probably remove the job restrictions.

In a way, I agree but part of me feels like with a cap set, it'll encourage people to finish their threads rather than like... leave them sitting there forever. Which is their choice, of course. It also makes it easier to keep track of how many threads you're participating in. The only reason I say that's important is because you MUST leave ALL active threads before traveling to a new country. If you were able to create infinite threads-- it might be harder to remember which threads you have left to exit if you have a lot active at once.

Part of me also feels like if the cap was completely lifted, people may bite off more than they can chew or be less motivated to finish a thread since they can just open up another one. But that's just my take on it.

A thread limit is most certainly needed to ensure that everything is neat, tidy, and easier. For all the reasons you stated above is why we do need a limit to the amount of IC threads one's character can participate within. But the problem with it is that it's too low of a number for many different people.

While I wouldn't go as far as to completely lifting the cap, I would suggest raising the cap by at least two or three. Possibly even four if you think that would be wise. But, when you mention job restrictions, what exactly are you referring to?

You're only allowed to have 2 active jobs at one time. I'd rather up it to 3 or 4 or just completely remove it and allow the overall thread limit to act as the job caps. For people like me, who do nothing but jobs and training, that leaves one thread that we don't ever use (since we're only allowed to have one training thread open, no?)
