The morning mist had been rolling through the mountains. The sound of the ocean crashing was still within earshot. A lone figure walked down a curvy stone path in the middle of the thick wilderness. The stars and moon attempted to shine through the mist but they could only penetrate slightly. The silent night was filled with only the small sounds of insects chirping and moving about. These forest were full with strange and exotic animals, most were active in the day time but there was few that liked the cloak of the night to do their hunting. The lone figure walking through the area wore nothing but a white robe covering a simple pair of shorts and shirt and on his feet were a pair of worn and dirty sandals. In his right hand was a stick, well a staff to be correct, but for the time being he was using it as a walking stick. An air of magic and power surrounded the boy. He moved silently and quickly through the night the only light he had been using was that of the stars and the moon and that was scarce as it was.
Noah’s steps echoed in the night, his feet were getting cold from the morning dew brushing on his exposed feet. His current route was said to be towards the capital city at least that was what the villagers of the town several miles back had told him. He had started his journey as the sun was dipping behind the mountains, the Jade Mountains. A place of wonder and mystery, many men have wrote about these tall peaks in their stories, artiest had painted them in every season and in every way that the sun shone on them, they were as much a part of the Zou Empire as the desert was to Heliohapt. He had always wanted to come to these massive beauties, more so in the daylight than night but beggars could not always be choosers. A small smile had crossed his face, he was more at ease here than ever in Heliohapt, being surrounded by the lush plants and slumbering animals was something that Noah was meant to be around at all times, not greedy, ignorant, fat, loud, and rude humans. He did not enjoy humans but tolerated them, they had never done anything to harm him other than kill his mother, that memory still haunted him.
He had fled the hot desert due to the fact that he had killed a rather annoying human, not that he was evil or bad to the world or the flow of life but he was rather rude to Noah and showed those below him no respect at all. That was his flaw, thinking that Noah was beneath him. Though it still drained him to use such big scale attacks in quick succession he was strong, stronger than most. He knew that if push came to shove that he could his own in a fight, maybe not long but he would not allow any enemy of any strength go away unscathed. The man was walking slowly through the mist careful to listen for any nocturnal hunters that might be watching him, he was rather certain that none were around but you never could be to careful. He had heard myths of dragons and other strange beast lurking in these mountains but none of them have been spotted since the last great magi walked this earth and that was, well that was sometime ago.
