Job details:

Garret had just finished his work with Oroloham, and was settling back in Reim; Yua had yet to return from whatever mercenary work she was doing, so the blue magician found himself looking around for work in the local area from time to time.

On one aimless afternoon, Garret was walking around without a care in the world. He stopped near the side of the street to take a look at some clouds, relaxing at their sight. It was in this moment that unseen gears began to turn, and fate landed a scholar into his lap. Literally.

The blue magician fell backwards, and papers flew left and right as he heard a very feminine 'oomph.' Garret immediately assessed the situation, his peaceful respite having been interrupted. A chestnut haired woman, bespectacled, caught herself from falling directly onto Garret by bracing herself up with her hands and knees. It almost looked as if she was crawling over his lower half.

There was a look of terror upon her face.

"Oh... Oh nooooo!" Her sobbing was like that of a person who had just lost something dear to them. "My papers!.. Ah... Sorry, sorry." As if realizing the predicament she was in only after she lamented from the results of her fall to the ground, the woman apologized profusely.

"Ah, no, my apologies. I was standing in the street..." As Garret was apologizing himself, she immediately began focusing on picking up the papers. Ignoring him, the woman was running here and there to collect her papers before they were blown away in the wind.

Shaking his head, Garret decided to take a small bit of responsibility. He, too, collected the papers and had managed to gather a small stack before taking a better look at what it was he was holding.

Garret froze, his movements turned to ice. What... What is this? His thoughts were a haze as he tried to understand the material he was looking at. It was not a simple code; that much, he was certain. No, it looked to be something completely alien to him.

As if sensing his wonder, the woman looked his way. A sly smile appeared on her face as she continued to gather. Garret's curiosity was peaked, but for now he buried it.

The two finished shortly after, and Garret went to hand the papers over to the woman. "Interested in it, are you?" Her smile was broad, almost manic.

Taken aback, Garret retreated a step. "Ah, no, not exactly. Just surprised to see..-" Before he could speak further, he was interrupted.

"No, no. I can see it! You're curious, aren't you!?" She giggled at first, but that giggle could not be contained. Bursting into laughter, the stack of crinkled and mixed up papers threatened to fall again. "Ah, ah! No!" She caught herself before disaster struck once more.

Garret steadied them for her once more.

"I'm sorry... Just, when it comes to the research we obtained, I can't help myself. There's just... So much... Ah. We're looking for hands to sort out the papers. You say you aren't interested..." She turned, the stack of papers slightly interfering with her sight, and looked Garret from head to toe. "But I think you are. I know the look, and you look the type. No matter what you say about the papers, most people are interested in money. This job pays." She smiled again, smugly.

A smile twitched on Garret's face, which he subsequently forced to a more neutral position. Sighing, Garret shrugged. "You're right. Everyone needs to work. Show me what kind of work I'll be doing, and I'll say you've got an employee."

Garret sat at the desk, looking over the papers with an idle curiosity. A lot of it had been translated, marked, and placed down in several piles. Certain marks detailed what went together, and Garret found most of the time was spent paying attention to those marks more-so than anything else.

The work itself was boring, in his mind, but it was possibly one of the simplest things he had ever done. Garret worked with the group for a week in total before they were completed with the organization of the various papers.
