Spoiler:
The night was dark and cold the light coming from the sky barely illuminating the ground below. When the enough light would be able to pierce the cloudy bright sky the snowy landscape would sparkle. The light reflecting off the snow crystal making a rather beautiful sight. A giant stood guard outside of a village wrapped up in cloth to ward off the cold and a great sword clasped on his back, his posture rigid and sturdy making him seem as if he was made of the ice that surrounded the land his dark blue eyes peered out over.
Siririn felt the cold nipping at the spot on his arm where he had no covering allowing the faint glow from his markings provide the light he needed to see when the sky was covered. The cold was something he was used to and could deal with it in moderation, and he was thankful for the small light it provided. As he stood staring out into the tundra with the village at his back Siririn began to let his mind wander he had accepted the job for a five night guard outside of a village, the pay was decent and the job didn't seem that challenging but one of the reasons he took the guard was the fact that he would be protecting the entire village. He knew that he could have been a little lazier and seated himself behind the entrance closer to a source of warmth, but he did not want to possibly risk the safety of the village for his incompetence and he had no doubt there were other guards stationed nearby to the entrance if something had managed to get past him but he was determined not to let that happen.
As he stood thinking a movement in the shadows made him snap back to his guard and a low snarl echoed through the silent night, as the sound drew closer he was able to make out the shape of two wolves stalking towards him. Siri reached up and his hand tightened around Brinas hilt and he drew his blade.
As the beasts drew near Siririn noted that they looked rather thin and their fur eyes looked sunken back into their head and they held a sense of desperation in them. The wolves eyed him hungrily as they circled him and for a moment Siririn felt bad for them, they were willing to risk their lives to enter the village and obtain foo. Siririn hadn't been out that often in the tundra and had no way of knowing how the game fared but he guessed it was pretty bad if the villages were scraping all the small morsels they could from the land. As he watched the beasts circle he began to lose himself in thought and he missed a step and his stance slipped, the beasts had no hesitation and one charged him it fangs snapping at his legs. The giant had realized his mistake and did his best to correct it catching himself before he fell, managing to keep his leg ready to kick the beast as it brushed passed his leg scraping him with its claws before being pushed back before landing on the ground a few feet away. The wolves that were where it landed scattered back off into the night, three still remained but that was still a possibility of being a challenge. As he fixed his stance he readied his sword just in time for a second beast to spring towards him to which he promptly cut down with a slash of his sword. As the beast fell Siririn lunged forward swinging his sword towards the ones that still remained driving them back into the night . As they ran Sirirn sheathed his blade and returned to his spot he had no time to dispose of the bodies of the wolves and dawn was still far off.

Day 2:
The night had passed and the day spent and withered away, but as the sun sank in the evening sky the blue giant marched to his post his leg wrapped in a small makeshift bandage of cloth covering the scratch from the beasts he had encountered on the guard the previous night. He knew that if another altercation where to happen tonight his leg would still be usable but his mind would subconsciously favor his other due to the dull throbbing of the cut.As he walked Siririn tried his best to stop himself from limping or even showing any sign of the pain his leg felt, which in actuality was very minor to other scars he had acquired but the pain was still pain nonetheless. As he approached the entrance of the village he noted others that stood, most much older than he,talking in groups of three or standing solitary sharpening their weapons and preparing their armor not many looked upon him as he approached and even if they did they barely gazed upon him before returning to their tasks. SIririn sat down at the outskirts of the little group and sat Brina across his lap closing his eyes and exhaling. He could hear the mindless chatter and the sound of a spear being sharpened but quickly that melted into the background, his mind was trained on the sound that lay on the tundra in front of him. The tundra lay silent the wind the only noticeable movement Siririn could note and that was only because it made a soft whistle in his ear.
Siririn sat in his spot as minutes passed and the sun sank deeper into the horizon, he snapped out of his meditative state when a hand touched his shoulder",Come on boy its time for the night to begin." He looked at the man who bothered to rouse him from his state he was an older man but not to old he looked feeble, he stood at around 7'9 which a rather large build but he was still dwarfed by Siririn. The stranger held a spear in his left hand and had another on his back, "Is this your first night? I haven't seen you before." Siririn shook his head " I was hear last night I stood there" He gestured to the spot where he had stood watch the night before. The stranger looked upon him his eyes skimming over judging his take truth, "Very well, tonight you stand guard with us" the man gestured behind him and Siririn took notice of the man who stood a few feet behind him, the man was younger but not so young as Siririn an axe hung from the belt he wore and a dagger was gripped in his hand.
As the three stood the two began talking, Sirirn was close enough were he would catch a few words but far enough where it wasn't hard to tune them out. " I hear the boy has earned his name....very quick kill, I was told..brought great honor to his family"The older one was talking Siririn figured that he was talking about a child coming of age and killing a Rampaging Unicorn. hearing them talk reminded him of his own coming of age and how he had beaten the beast and claimed its horn, many congratulated him and yet it felt rather empty there was no one there that actually cared he remembered thinking, how he wanted to just walk away and keep walking until he could no more. the people had said he brought a great honor to his family but he would hate that, he killing of the beast had not brought his parents back yet it somehow gave them a way to be respected, he could not wrap his mind around it and it would always leave him hurt and lost inside his own thoughts. The only thing that would bring him back was the feeling of his blade in his hand, it was something that he was sure was real and when he would run his hand up the blade it would cut and he would bleed but that pain was what brought him back to the w the thoughts ran through his head he was unaware of how the time was passing him, before long the dawn had come and his mind was clouded with the thoughts of the lose he had suffered and he walked away from the guard in pain but once again but his leg troubled him no more.

Day 3:
The third day had come at last and Siririn was in no hurry to rush the entrance as he once had when he started the job. The nights activities the previous guard had left him with a empty feeling inside of him as he went to sleep and a feeling of grief when he awoke. As he walked slowly through the village he watched the sun go down slowly in the horizon hoping that by the time he got to the entrance the others would have dispersed and he would be able to stand guard by himself once more as he feared having to listen to something that would bring those memories back to him as he did not trust himself to stay calm if a situation arose that he did not expect that he would handle it well and feared what he would do. He thought about the time that he had snapped when he found the men that caused the lose of his parents and how his blade had stained the ground blood red..Siririn shuddered at the thought of how brutal he had been and how it haunted his every waking moment, always there waiting for a time when he let his guard down to spring out and destroy something he held dear. The dull pain returned to him thumping inside of his head, "Never..never again will I jeopardize them.."he clenched his fist his knuckles turning white when it hit him, Who would he  not jeopardize? he had no one other than the people in the village that surrounded him but he could not say that they cared for him greatly and probably could name very few of the people in the village. He let out a sigh the thumping moving from his head to his chest. His eyes were unblinking as they bore into the ground below him as he walked, "I'm close to the entrance" he thought and looked up ready to present his normal air of cold and silence but he was shocked..he had not walked that far from where he started. "No" he thought "Surely i had walked more than enough be at the entrance"  The thoughts and pain had deceived him and he realized that it clouded his thoughts and walked the rest of the way in complete silence thinking of nothing but his feet moving forward towards his goal.
As he feet carried him past the entrance and into the tundra, he stopped the entrance still in view as well as the people shuffling about guarding the inside of it which he presumed where the two he had met the night before. He turned his attention back to the tundra the stretched out before him he unsheathed his sword and got ready, he would not make the mistakes he had made the first day. His leg throbbed as he thought about it and the stupid misstep he had made even though it cost him no real damage he still cursed himself for it. Sirrin's ears caught the noise of the beast before he saw it, s great low growl echoing from deep within a great white beast that lumbered slowly towards him glowering through him with its dark eyes ready for a fight. Siririn did not give the beast time as he charged it his great sword swing towards it causing the beast to lurch backwards and lash out with its paws to which Sirirn parried expertly the blow glancing off his blade and turning the ears mighty claws away from him allowing for an opening to which he lunged forward and pierced the beast with his sword before slamming his fist into the the head of it hearing its neck snap before removing his sword from it and watching as it swung feebly before hitting the ground with a massive thud. Siririn let out a deep sigh and slid Brina back into its sheathe and watching the blood seep into the ground, his face emotionless and cold as ice."Who" he muttered softly.

Day 4:
Sirirn awoke the next day feeling slightly better, the thoughts he had the night before plaguing him less. His head was now filled of the thoughts on how he reacted, the slaughtering of the bear and the release of the thoughts he had kept buried inside his mind. The ability to think without the darkness brought on by those thoughts was refreshing, even though he knew it would not last long. He sat pondering, his actions were not brought out of nowhere but he was unable to hold them back, if instead the bear had been another guard who had  said something to him at the wrong moment and had lost his life because of it. Siririn knew it might have been different and he doubted he would have killed them but he could not know for sure and he did not want to risk taking the chance of harming someone.
Siririn stood pulling on his clothes and his little bit of armor, tomorrow was the last day of his night guard and he was awaiting the end of it. He was ready to go, go and do something where he can get rid of the darkness that had plagued him for all the years. He didn't know what exactly he wanted to do but he had to do something, anything. "I could go somewhere else, leave this place with all this pain and suffering behind. Forge ahead with happiness and good memories to rectify all I have done to push myself back into the darkness, keeping me from moving on and becoming greater for my family."His thoughts rushed through his head and for the first time in awhile he felt better, he picked up his sword and Brina gave him the familiar feeling of strength running through his body. He strapped the sword to his back and continued out the door.
The sun was dipping below the horizon as Siririn walked to the village entrance where he would begin his watch, his head filled with a sense of peace and tranquility for the first time since he started the job. He was looking forward to the night, he was filled with adrenaline and would use his time wisely to get in a little practice. He approached the gate and stood tall looking over the tundra with a new perspective as the sunlight slowly faded away and the torches brighten the inner ring of the village. Siririn walked out into the tundra the light and heat of the village to his back fading away. He found his spot at the edge of the darkness and drew his sword the light flashing off the blade, he took the tip and pushed it into the ground between his feet, causing the snow to whirl up around him whipping at his garments biting through to his skin. He pulled of his cloak and undid his wraps exposing his skin to the wind and snow, the mark on his arm glowing slightly in the darkness. Pulling his sword from the ground he walked into the night to take up his guard.

Day 5:

Siririn was ready for his final night out guarding the village, he had awoke earlier than he normally would've to hone his talents with his blade.  He arose happily that morning, prepared for the day ahead for the first time in quite a while. He dared not test himself and think back to the last morning he had awoke with a smile upon his face as he feared what nightmares he would have uncover. Instead he rose a satiated his hunger with a small serving of meat he had gotten at some point  during a recent job that he could not recall but,he ate it nonetheless and walked out into the the late afternoon a time he that had eluded him recently due to his late job time. Siririn had forgotten how the village bustled with people during the hours that the sun was still up, at least to his mind they seemed quite a large group to his socially separated mindset and it slightly intimidated him in a way that made him feel more like a frighted animal before a group of hunters that oddly disturbed him sending shudders through his body on the thought that only just recently he viewed the world in a way that was rather dark dismal setting. He dared not take his current state for granted as he knew he could slip back in an instant. His had reached back and gripped his sword hilt tightly before walking forward into the village looking for someplace where his blade could be used. Siririn had no inclination on the location of any place he could spar or train so he walked aimlessly checking everywhere his eyes wandered for something he could use to train whether it be a stick or wall but he had his hopes set on a sparing dummy. As he wandered he heard a commotion towards the front of the village and noticed people flooding towards it, with his curiosity got the best of him and he ventured after the group of to inspect what the clamor was about.
A semicircle of people had formed about a group of older Immuchak warriors, at least that is what the crowd seemed to hold them as, laughed and gloated. as Siririn came into earshot he heard one of the men speaking, "..and we would have brought back their hides but there was nothing left of them when we were done with 'em"the mans voice was deep for someone of his size, even though Siririn was used to dwarfing over men of his race, the man shouting was noticeably shorter than the others in his party. As Siririn stood he noted the men standing around him there were five of them in the small group. Most of the men were older than Siriirn but were still no match in size and something was off about there faces, where wisdom should be a sense of wickedness fell upon their faces in its stead. Siririn's eyes meet those of the one speaking and the world came crashing back to him, "Why the beasts were twice that one's size and we each took one on our own, so i do believe we are more 'an capable of taking on anything that could come our way here. Why I guess we could even prove it if this one wanted to step up and challenge us, but i fear the boy is in to much fear to even think about it after our tales." The man flashed a wicked smile that Siririn wanted to fix but restrained himself, he had no reason to fight theses men from the looks of it they were spreading lies and most likely had camped in the tundra somewhere filling their stomachs with drink and meat around a fire somewhere near claiming to be on a hunt. Siririn simply shook his head in reply" I fear only for the shame it would bring if those tales of yours are false." His statement raised a chuckle that made the men grow a shade of red, "Well then boy maybe your not as lost in the clouds as your height suggests but we all know how terrifying it must be to face those more experienced so no one holds you to blame so go, i'm sure you have some errand to run off and do." With that statement he turned back to the crowd and Siririn took this chance to walk off.
Later that night at his station he heard loudness in the usual silent night and then the noise of stumbling men. He turned toward the noise and saw the men from earlier stumbling around drunk and full of laughter as they swayed through the town. They approached the gate chuckling as they formed a sloppy line and a couple of them drew their weapons, mostly spears, and stood facing him muttering incomprehensibly. One finally spoke up and Siririn Noticed him as the man from earlier, "Well teach ya' not ..to mess with us" He pointed a swaying finger to one of the larger men with a spear" Show him.."The man stepped forward his spear barely holding in his hand as he thrust it lazily at Siririn who stepped out of the way, grabbing it on his way and sliding it from the mans grasp with little effort. The man stumbled forward and almost fell on his face expressing a moment of nausea before he readied his fists. " Ok, we can do this the hard way then." before he lurched forward swinging his fists in a manner that was no threat at all to Siririn, Who simply sidestepped it and let the man crash past him, "I would recommend you stop this will gain you nothing." The man steadied himself and the men around them cheered he saw a few more faces then when they had begun what could be barely called their fight. one of the strangers threw another spear towards the man but it missed and hit the ground a distance away, Siririn looked trough the crowd and saw the faces of a couple of his own that had took up the guard with him that night and motioned them to move towards the others. The one who he assumed to be the ring leader was muttering to a couple of others and gesturing toward the village houses and felt a worried for what they might have done but his thoughts were cut short when he caught the man charging toward him swinging. He Jumped out of the way coming up behind the man bringing his leg up under the man's and sweeping it out from under him causing him to hit the ground. Siririn back away uttering a warning to the man to stay down but he stood once more and charged this time Siririn met him, launching a feint punch at the mans face while smashing his foes leg with his heel. The man disoriented raised to block his face before screaming and falling clutching his leg which was sure to be broken. The men around quickly scattered but were met with the other guards that had formed around them and just as swiftly they were all contained and tied for the night so the would not cause trouble. The man that Siririn had wounded was properly taken care of and was asleep in the ground by his fellow companions. The group had doubled since the one that had been in the village earlier that day but most were either men way to young or way to old to have fought and the rest were blind with ale and were swaying were they sat. They thought of people like them made Siririn sick the original group had no doubt been trying to make money off of some job that had been announced in the small village and had lied to get the reward. When Siririn called  them out on it they had gotten it in their drunk heads to silence him and now they sat defeated and soon to be exposed  when dawn broke and that filled Siririn with a sense of pride before he walked off to resume his final guard.
