“No,” he said after he heard something move underneath the tile he had stepped on. “Heard something.” He narrowed his eyes, looking at the tiles. It wasn’t evident to Adrastos until Thyme had jumped down onto a sunken tile, triggering no trap like Noir had.

Why hadn’t he noticed earlier or attempted stepping on the sunken tile? Adrastos mentally cursed himself. “That will take too long, Noir. We don’t have that time. Thyme, try going across but only by using the sunken tiles. We’ll follow you once you get a little ahead. I think the sunken tiles aren’t trapped. We’ll use those since it seems a bit quicker.”

Once Thyme would go ahead, Adrastos would follow, making sure his foot only touched the sunken tiles if nothing happened to Thyme. If a trap was tripped by one of the sunken tiles, then they’d have to stop and reanalyze their predicament. Until then though, they’d keep stepping on the sunken tiles to get across and to the lever.

The small cat started to hop across the tiles using only the sunken tiles like the magician had suggested of the cat. He moved quickly across until he was at the end so the entire time journeying across he did not activate a single trap. It seemed as the magicians hunch had proved reliable. He sat at the other end and turned around giving a proud stance and very pleasing smile to the pair. The cat was glad that he was able to help the pair, he happily meowed at them since he was able to prove his usefulness to the pair.

"You were right after all! It seems the sunken tiles don't have traps linked to them, all you have to do is just walk across those to the lever and pull it then you should be good to continue on."

Now that they had found out how to move on the pair would be able to go onto the next room. If they made sure to walk across without touching the raised tiles then they would be able to pull the lever and enter the gate. As the cold temperature cloaked over them they would be relieved at the assistance of the act, it seemed that he had told the truth when he said he wanted to help them, though Thyme looked up to them and the strength that they seemed to possess, the small cat wished to be like them. He stared at the pair pondering what they would show him as they journeyed farther into the dungeon together with them, he wanted to watch them and see what traits they would show, after all his goal was to be helpful and it would indeed accomplish it.

After observing that it was safe to step on the sunken tiles, Noir followed Thyme, only stepping on the sunken tile after commanding Haku to follow too. It was getting colder there and Noir needed to be quick, so she quickened her pace a little bit but not too fast as she didn’t want to step on the wrong tiles. When she made it to the lever, the black haired girl poured all her strength to pull it and if it could open the gate, she would wait until all of her comrade arrived before nodding at them and entered the gate together. Noticing an intense stare from the cat, Noir reached out to give him a pet and then lift him up to give him a warm hug, “Good job, little Thyme. You did well, thank you.”

Haku let out a happy growl, grateful that they can finally move from the tiles. He would then increase his body temperature a little bit so his other comrade would feel warm if they stood beside him. He thanked his own natural traits to be able to control his own body temperature as he could easily adapt in any kind of weather to survive. The liger growled again to Thyme, as if saying that he really did a great job. To think that such a small kitten would be that brave to risk himself stepping on the tiles… But it was not only the liger who thought about that, Noir also thought about that as well. She was amused by the fact that this little kitten already being very helpful, despite of his strange ability to speak, but well, she had listened to how her liger speak so it was not really strange. It seemed that Thyme had this intelligence as well and that made the black haired girl wondered if Thyme would want to come with her after they done exploring the dungeon.

Noir would gaze at Adrastos as well as she stood close beside him, “Oh, thank you to you too, Neo. If you didn’t suggest that, then we still won’t be able to pull the lever.” Now that she pulled the lever and entered the gate, she wondered what else might be waiting for them…

"I didn't do much. I wish we had figured it out earlier so we wouldn't have wasted as much time as we did," Adrastos exclaimed. He was vexed by the idea that he had not even contemplated, or at least used common sense, to determine that the sunken tiles were not trapped and that he only managed to take a gamble when Thyme landed on a sunken tile himself. Was the man that cowardly to not risk his own life? Or was it just he was too blind to see the obvious as he laid in front of him, blatantly taunting and laughing at Adrastos' foolishness. "Thyme did most of the figuring out anyway. If it weren't for him-"

Adrastos decided to drop the subject. It didn't matter since they were by the lever, the one which Noir immediately pulled. Together, the group would find out what the lever was for and what would happen afterwards. Whatever came out, if anything, they would be ready.

The Magicians Path Into Dedication [Noir/Adrastos] - Page 2 Sand_and_ruins_by_blinck-d4i1ama

As the pair entered the gate the felt a strange sensation come over their bodies, it felt like they were moving through sound as they went through he portal. They would find it hard for them to breath as the moved through it as if they were sinking in quicksand, it didn't help that it was blinding them by covering their vision making it impossible to see each other. And the only sounds that could be heard were that of the shifting sands closing around them. Just as it would feel like they would be consumed by the sand their bodies would soon fall out of the sand landing on the other side of the gate, if they turned around they would notice that there was no door behind them and the only sign that they went through it was the sand that had entered their clothes.

The small black Cat had his body poking out of the sand as he had tumbled out getting himself stuck, as the cat pulled his head out and looked around the area his eyes and the magicians would be filled with he wonderous sight of the midway. As they looked forth they would see the end of the midway clearly, it appeared as if there was a building at the end which was most likely their destination. It was honestly the only way to go though, they were in a large canyon it appeared and the only way to go was forward, ahead of them was the rocky terrain and broken pillars lying across the canyon but no signs of any other structures that were there before.

The cat trotted forward and looked around trying to gather a feel for the area, but he then would wait for the pair to move forward in the area. The sun beat down on them as if it was high noon for as they looked around. It seemed to be a different time of day in this area which would seem strange to the pair, but they would once again be accompanied by the powerful and strong heat. There was virtually no wind blowing, but the area felt slightly humid making it uncomfortable for the pair.

"Alright guys you make sure to lead the way and I'll keep an eye out for anything. Though it would be safe to probably pay attention to whats going on but lets' go!"

The cat spoke in a cheery voice, he would wait for the pair before he would move on. If they wanted to rest he would rest with them, that cat assumed they probably wanted to keep moving though.

Once again Noir felt the weird sensation covering her body just like when she touched the gate, could it be having same mechanism with the entrance gate back there? She felt breathless for a while, as if she was being drowned into something unknown and something made her wanting to shut her eyes tight. The black haired girl felt it was easier to breath after a while and she slowly opened her eyes only to see a different area with a different…time? Strange… It was like they were warped into some other dimension.

“All of you… are you alright?” The female magician asked while patting her cloth, trying to clean herself from the sand. After checking their condition, Noir would look forward, noticing there was only one path through this midway to a building that stood firmly at the end of the path. She watched as the cat trotted forward and started to look around only to pause for a while to wait for the other to follow him. Noir looked at Adrastos and nodded towards him before motioning Haku to follow, she would approach Thyme and then with her wand, she would pour some magoi on it to cast small four water spheres. Each of the spheres would float to all of them only so they could drink it to hydrate themselves. “Please drink some so we can keep being hydrated.” She said to the others as she took some water into her mouth, letting out a relieved sigh as the coolness flowing on her throat. After all of them had drunk the water, they would continue to the building. Noir would reach to her wand, gripping it tightly so she could use it when the time had come. While walking towards the building, Noir gazed at her mentor, watching him a little bit with a question in her mind. “Neo...” She called his name softly, “May I ask why do you want to come with me to enter the dungeon?” Before letting Adrastos to answer, the black haired girl quickly waved her hands in panic. “U-uh, it’s not like I don’t want you to accompany me. I mean, I am very grateful that my mentor agreed to accompany me. But… I heard this is the place where you only had a little chance to get out and survive, so… ummm…” She scratched her head a little bit, couldn’t find the right word to ask and ended up sighing heavily. “Well, I am grateful to be able to fight beside a strong person like you…”

Once they went through the portal - the whole sensation was too much for Adrastos to really recall clearly - he could feel the sand flood the interior of his clothing and scratch against his skin. Sand even entered his mouth and nose and ears. That was the one cruel fact about sand: it got everywhere and no matter what you did, there was no easy way of getting all of it off.

Adrastos crawled to his feet, coughing, trying to get sand out of his lungs as well as get a decent amount of oxygen in. After a few minutes, he adjusted his clothing appropriately, only to find out that the crumpled up letter was missing. He spun, looking at the sand. Where did it go? He couldn't lose it, not now. If he didn't have that as reassurance to stay sane within the dungeon, while he was relishing his final moments with Noir, then what would be the point of it all?! Adrastos clenched his fists together in furious frustration. Damn it all.

However, out of the corner of his eye, he saw something white sticking out from the sand. Without missing a beat, he picked it up, looked at the letters scrawled onto the parchment, then stuffed it in his vest pocket. "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's just get going."

Adrastos looked around him as they walked forward. He noticed how the time had changed, and once again it was the middle of the day, but instead of a vast wasteland, there was a narrow passageway which they had to follow. Were they is some sort of crevice or canyon? The magician didn't have time to really think too much though because Noir spoke up.

"Why? I thought it would be fun. I've never been inside a dungeon before and only heard rumors of them when I was traveling. It's a challenge too, and I felt like I could obtain something valuable here, an object I would be unable to acquire anywhere else."

The group would find it wise that they had decided to stay hydrated in such a harsh climate, after all they were still in temperatures of extreme heat, unlike the last are though this place was a bit more humid. Staying hydrated was good after all they had no idea how much of a toll the heat could take on them so drinking water when their bodies told them to would prove useful for survival in the dangerous dungeon. Of course, there were other things that they would have to worry about when it came to surviving, like keeping an eye out for nay monsters that might attack them or to watch out for traps. The last area had some but it was uncertain what the midway would hold for the pair of magicians, atleast they had eachother to assist and keep watch for anything that they might come across.

As they found themselves strolling forward they would notice that the pillars that were strewn across the canyon seemd as if they all had been damaged or maybe even attack by something. They were not demolished but there were claw or maybe slash marks from a weapon, but nonetheless it seemed to be from something strong enough to cut into stone and not destroy it, so whatever had created such markings was something that was dangerous. in the area, strangely though Thyme had seemed like he was trying to ignore the markings as he walked forward, though deep down the little kitten was afraid of whatever was in here but he tried to keep a brave face so that he could try to prove useful to the pair.

As they trotted through the warm and dry area they would begin drawing closer to their goal but out of nowhere there was a set of loud screeches that seemed as if it was coming from a set of wild animals with killer intent. It was unsure which direction it was coming from but the pair would have to be prepared with whatever was coming their way. They would most likely need to prepare for combat since it was obvious that creatures would be coming their way, they would just have to make sure to prepare for anything since they weren't able to tell where they would be coming from at the moment. As they would prepare they would heard the loud animalistic noises getting louder with each second, resounding through the canyon with a monstrous echo.

It was surely hot there and the humidity made her hard to breathe a little, like it was taking her breath away. Maybe something cold would help her to feel better a little bit, so she flick her wrist, giving a little movement with her wand and create a little ice cube. Noir would let the ice cube to fall on her palm and then put the ice cube into her mouth, feeling the coldness melting on her tongue and made her feel better. The black haired girl would also keep an eye to her comrades, making sure that they stayed hydrated and gave them water in case they needed it.

The scene in front of her made her stop walking; she observed the damaged pillars around them and wondered about what was the cause behind it. The most logical reason was probably it was once damaged by a vicious creature, same like the area they were in before. She then saw Thyme who kept walking, seemed to not affected by the strange vibe that emitted by the damaged pillars. “Thyme.” Noir called the black kitten, “Stick with us, we don’t know for sure what will be waiting for us if you walk alone.” She would just hope that the black cat would listen and stick with them to avoid unwanted things before they continue to walk.

While walking together with her comrade, the female magician would then listen to what her mentor had to say. “I hope we can go to more adventures, Neo. It is always nice to learn new things from you and I get to know more about yourself too.” As soon as she finished talking, she could hear an alarming sound. “Haku, protect Thyme.” The black haired girl said as she stayed close to Adrastos. Knowing that she and the silver haired man had some history to fight alongside each other, so by working together she was sure that they could be overcome anything. She hoped so… Then the black haired girl looked at her mentor, nodding towards him and getting ready for anything that would come.

For a few moments, Adrastos was oblivious to the gashes carved into the stone pillars, but when he finally did notice them, his alertness was off the charts. Soon after, screeches sliced through the air and pierced his eardrums. Where they came from the blue magician couldn’t discern. All he knew was that whatever was coming toward them would not be friendly. Noir called to Thyme, telling the little kitten to not go any farther without them and for Haku to guard the small creature.

There was no place to take cover in the chasm, and since they were no longer in the wide open space of the previous area, they lacked the maneuverability they used to have. They had nowhere to retreat if things went south, leaving the escape to be death, unless, of course, they killed the beasts that approached.

Adrastos gripped his wand tightly within his right hand. He put his back to Noir’s, thinking it better to not leave any blind spots and for them to easily be able to protect each other. “Stay close. Watch each other’s backs.”

As the magicians prepared for what was to come the creatures that were hunting them had decided to make an appearance as they came swooping down from above. As they would look up towards where the piercing screams were coming from they would get a quick look at the beasts. They were like some weird mixture of a horse and a bird, it was a strange creature indeed but it seemed perfectly built for praying on creatures that were to dwell in the canyon, and to the large avian creatures these magicians were starting to look like a good afternoon snack. They circled in the air with piercing eyes keeping a look on the pair before they would soon begin to strike their targets.

The two Sand Howlers soon began to dive down towards the targets on the ground, zooming in at great speeds they would draw themselves as close as possible until they were 10 meters away from them. As they drew closer they opened up their beaks and let out a piercing caww to try and weaken the targets. The one on the right would then shoot forward of his partner afterward then would try to slam into the group with a spiraling slam to try and harm them. The other one behind him would then try to swoop up in an attempt to get above but would patiently wait for any incoming attacks that might come its' way.

The black haired girl had no time to check or admire on how interesting the incoming creatures were, so she tightened her grip on her wand, knowing that it was time for her to attack. The creatures were clearly hostile as they dived down to attack the magicians directly and, as soon as they were 15 meters away from them, Noir would use her Crystal Key that hanged around her neck and clash with any attacks that the creature used by casting Icy Finger of Death. The web of ice that was formed from water would be much faster than the beasts attack because it would travel in 20m/s, it would froze everything it touched in its path and hopefully it would deal a damage.

As soon as the creatures appeared and unleashed their ear-splitting attacks, Adrastos blocked the caww of one Sand Howler with his borg, and clashed with the incoming Sand Howler’s spiraling slam with Aqua Vipera Glacialis Morsus. The blue magician grinded his teeth together in annoyance, vexed by these bird-like monsters that dared to get in their path. Did these avians truly think they would go down easily? Were they just stupid? Regardless, there was no way he was letting these birds deter them from their goal. He swiftly cast Glacialis Lamnia, commanding the rukh to form a sword of ice which was sent at the Sand Howler that watched, almost as if it were waiting for an attack.

The female magician watched as her mentor managed to beat one of the idle Sand Howler (A) with his ice sword, the avian creature didn’t fight back to defend itself and received Adrastos attack as if it getting hit willingly. But her focus was still at the other creature; she knew it was her turn to attack the last remaining Sand Howler. With a determination in her golden eyes, the black haired girl lifted her wand towards the remaining enemy. Without hesitation she whispered to the rukh to produce water and formed a web of ice once again, it discharged again towards the Sand Howler (B) and froze it as soon as the web of ice touched the remaining flying creature. Noir was not sure about their intention, because it seemed that they were not as vicious as she thought before after she saw them coming towards them. But for now, if there would be no more enemy coming for them, Noir would keeping her comrade re-hydrated first while praising them, “We did a great job, it’s nicely done. Here, drink some water and let’s head forward.” She clearly understand that they should keep their guard up because they wouldn't know what kind of another harm that would come, so she mentioned to keep their guard up before drinking one of four water balls that she produced by using her magic.

The golden eyed girl closed her eyes for a second and inhaled air slowly before exhaling it as slow as how she inhaled the air, she gripped her wand tight in her hand and gaze forward. Her heart was beating fast, she was excited about all the things they encountered in the dungeon but like her mentor said; it was not a vacation so there was not time to playing around and explore the area. He was right, that also could lead them into their own mischief if she gave into her curiosity nature. She was grateful to have dependable companion by her side and she would try her best to take care of them. By keeping that in mind, Noir would keep moving forward until she got the knowledge she could get inside this dungeon, especially about what resides in the depths of the dungeon itself, no matter what.

Noir attacked the last creature, but Adrastos still did not loosen his posture. More of those creatures could appear, and there was no assurance that the Sand Howler Noir attacked was defeated. He took a drink from the water sphere Noir conjured, then looked around. They couldn’t stay here. Moving forward was the best option. “Come on. We can’t waste any more time just standing here. Let’s move farther into this place before more monsters attack us.”

Adrastos waved Noir and the others forward so that he could trail from behind. He had to remember that this wasn’t his quest, but Noir’s. She had to be the leader, she had to step up to the role that she wanted to be in. So far, Adrastos had tried to but suggestive instead of commanding, a task which was a bit difficult for the blue magician, yet not entirely impossible.

The flying creatures were soon killed by the icy attacks that had gone their way, freezing their bodies slightly and the force damaging them as they fell to the ground with a heavy thud. It was obvious they were done for, as the bodies sat there the small cat Thyme crawled towards the carcasses slightly swatting at them to verify if they were dead then looked up with a confirming smile ready to guide the pair farther into the midway waiting for their signal to continue through the dungeon.

"You guys really are strong, but I think stronger creatures are going to appear as we get farther into the dungeon so please make sure to be prepared. But I believe in the both of you, you're both really strong."

When they decided to move on they would see more of the environment, if they looked closely around some of the pillars and the area they would notice the bones of creatures that had been here before and some that seemed possibly human, there was a strange feeling resonating to them, it was almost ominous signalling that something was going to happen or they would be running into some sort of enemies soon but the question was where would they come from, would they be ambushed or maybe they would be laying in wait.

As they progressed forward the towering exit became clearer to them bu there was one last thing standing in their way it seemed. As they would get closer they would notice there were living creatures guarding the door. Stood strong and proud were two large lizards that were humanoid in shape each holding a sword in their right hands while it seemed there was a mound of dirt between them which slightly shifted as if there was something under there hiding preparing to attack when they got closer. It looked as if this would be the last trial of the room, but they had no idea what could be hiding there and how strong these monsters really were.

The black haired girl raised her eyebrow when she saw two large lizards that looked humanoid standing firmly in front of the gate, it was her first time to see such kind of creature except that feline-featured man that she met on the ship before. She wondered about the strange looking mound of dirt between the guards and it was slightly shifted as if something was hiding under the mound of dirt. Noir then took a step forward but didn’t continue to take another step, she felt something dangerous from the guards and also the mound of dirt. But if they didn’t try to do something, they wouldn’t be able to pass the exit; so perhaps she could at least try asking but keeping her guard up in case they showed some hostility towards them. “Excuse me…” Noir paused for a few second, wanting to see the reaction from the guards first. “Please let us exit through the door behind you.” If the creatures were not in a the mood of talking and immediately showing some hostility, the female magician would be ready to counter back as well as her liger who was now standing firmly in front of the girl, glaring at the humanoid lizard but was holding his own growl. “Neo.” She called firmly, “Let’s watch each other’s backs once again.”

Thankfully, the group could see the gate up ahead once they travelled farther inside the dungeon’s room, yet, in front of the very gate they needed to get to, stood two adversaries with something crawling around in the sand between them. Noir would try to talk to them, ask the but no creature, save for Thyme, within this hell hole had any intention on listening. That much should have been obvious. If they did listen, the blue magician would be beyond surprised. Combat would be the only way to get through. With a nod, Adrastos responded, “Naturally, Noir. I’m merely here to help you anyhow. The reptilian guards stared them down slightly gripping their swords strongly as the pair of magicians got closer, they let their tongues hang mouth wide open giving a strange and wicked smile. They gave ff a strange aura the looked with hungered eyes licking their lips as they stared down at the pray that had walked towards them, they were slightly surprised by how close they had gotten as the slightly chuckled, but for a moment they said nothing just staring at them as if trying to make them out and learn more about the people that stood before them, similar to how a hunter eyed a herd of animals deciding which to strike.

Each of the guards dashed forward with their swords drawing close to the magicians and ferociously used Deep Cleave as they got close aiming for their shoulders. As they would be preoccupied with the guards in front of them the mound of dirt shifted moving towards the liger and the small cat Thyme, revealing itself showing a large worm creature. It attempted to use Under pressure once it was close enough to capture the large feline, It would also attempt to bite the magicians beast in attempt to weaken it so it could soon have its' meal and help out it's companions with killing their prey of choice.

Hearing her mentor say what he said made the black haired girl tugged her lips to form a small unnoticeable smile, she was lucky to have Adrastos with her as he was one of the strongest people she ever known and it felt like they were unbeatable when they worked together. It had been a while since Noir felt that kind of excitement and now she was more than ready to hear the guards’ answer. The reply was not a friendly one as she had expected before since now the humanoid lizards had threatened to eat them, so she knew that the only way was to use force to let them permit the magicians to go through the exit.

“I apologize…” The female magician sent an icy glare towards the lizards and she got ready to attack, “…but we are not food.” Nothing was more exasperating other than being treated like weak prey. She would show them that she was not that low to be their food. When the lizard sent a deep cleave aimed to her shoulder, Noir would activate her borg to receive the attack as well as using the pressure from the clash to get 5 meters  between her and the Lizard Knight (A)[/b]. The black haired girl knew that she need to stay close with her comrade, so she dashed towards her liger.

Rawrrrr!!! Haku growled fiercely as another creature revealed itself from under the mound of dirt, he would then use Parry to block the attack. As the large worm attempted to bite him, Noir, who was close to Haku, immediately cast one small shard of electricity towards the large worm. After that, she would hold Thyme and mount Haku, commanding her liger to dash until they were 15 meters behind Adrastos. She would then say something to her mentor with a firm and merciless tone while looking forward, “Neo… finish it.”

Her eyes would find Thyme that was still in her arms, and she would say with a very calm tone, as if she assigned a lifetime request for the little feline. “Thyme… if something tries to harm you and Haku, I will make sure Haku  protects you, but… I hope you can protect him too. I hope you understand my plea.” It had a slight sad tone in her words, but the reason was very simple. The liger was the closest one to her, the one who was always beside her and probably, the only one who understood the black haired girl because he saw his own mother die in front of him. However, it was not just her liger that mattered to her at this moment, her mentor was also important and there was no way she would let anyone or anything to harm her dearest companion. The female magician then climbed down from her liger and got ready to attack if necessary.

“Maybe they were too afraid to get a close-up on your ugly faces. Even I’m regretting being this close. You reek,” sneered Adrastos as he tightly gripped Malevolent Shadow in his right hand. “I wouldn’t worry though; you’re about the be the ones on the menu, and I’ll be making sure it’s painful.” He eyed their opponents carefully. There wasn’t that much space between them, but when the Lizard Knight (B) attacked with its Deep Cleave, Adrastos, knowing he would receive some damage, cast Aqua Canno II  to clash against it while using the blow to stagger back 12m and place himself in front of his comrades. Immediately afterward, he cast Inner Darkness, a cloud of black mist that would be 10m in all directions, at the enemies.

Adrastos didn’t even look at his now injured shoulder. He could feel the blood trickling down his arm and dropping onto the sand below, sizzling against the heat. The wound wasn’t bad; the magician refused to let it become his downfall. There was too much at stake in this place, and too much he needed to do before dying. The corners of his lips twitched into a smirk. Like hell it would end here.

As the magician had taken the blow from the cleave it seemed aggravated that it had not been able to harm its' prey. It gave an angry stare at them before letting out a hiss. He looked at his friend who had also dealt with his fair share of trouble against his own magician, but he had been lucky enough to deal some damage to the man unlike him. The both looked at each other and were prepared to fight so they ran close to each other and would prepare to strike when the magician sent the field of shadow at them. They would both use Skittering slash to protect themselves which proved to work, one of the knights (A) ran in front of the other who used Knock Back to send him flying towards the silver haired magician and would try to slash him with a basic slash.

While the magician would be preoccupied with the Lizard that came his way, the burrowing worm was upset that his attack had been clashed with and was annoyed at the slight electrical damage he had taken from Noir's attacks, but he would continue his pursuit. As the shadowy field started to come his way used Gnarl to protect himself, it seems as if there was some trouble so he would have to rethink his approach so he then used Run Away to burrow deep within the ground. It would wait for the time to strike but at this moment they would not be able to find the creature and it had the advantage. As they were fighting it would slowly dig its way towards Noir and the creatures waiting for its' opportunity to perform a sneak attack.

Seeing the lizards manage to deal damage to her mentor was not something that she expected to happen. She saw how the blood dripped from Adrastos’ injured shoulder, and, at that moment, anger tried to take over her mind. Each drop of blood dripping to the sizzling sand drove Noir crazy, to think how she could let that happen: She was weak, and at that very moment, her irises changed from the usual golden color to a pair of rubies. They would pay for it, either she would be the one to crush them or her mentor would crush them by himself, either way was fine as long as they wouldn’t be the last one laughing. “Neo!” the black haired girl called. At the very least, she needed to know about his condition before she could make any decision whether to go assist him or not, since she needed to deal with the worm too. The Burrowing Death was now hiding within the ground and it could strike anytime and anywhere, so the female magician used her Flying Carpet. She would take Thyme with her while commanding Haku to aid Adrastos and give her mentor his own space by staying 5 meters behind him so he could attack at ease. Noir would soar through the sky until they reached around 15 meters from the ground. She was not patient and wanted to crush the enemies, but she tried to restrain herself for a little bit, knowing that rushing things could lead into reckless moves. Thus, the black haired girl observed the ground, trying to locate the worm’s whereabouts but would ask for Thyme’s help to look for it too, “Thyme, help me to see the worm. The moment you see it emerging from the sands, alarm me or at least back me up.”

If the worm suddenly struck up, Noir would just hope that the cat would help and also protect her from any incoming attack by using his I Ain’t Scared. After that she would casts 4 black lightning strikes, attempting to deliver a finishing blow to it so she can go to aid her mentor.

These creatures were getting on Adrastos’ nerves. So much so that he didn’t hear Noir calling his alias. The silver-haired man clutched his wand tightly, ignoring the pain that it caused to his shoulder. His eyes stared coldly at the lizards that were in front of him, one charging as the other stood still. “You think you can eat me? You?! Little worms that should be groveling in the sand minding your own damn business… That’s what you should have done instead of blocking our way and threatening to make us food. I’ll flatten you into the sand for such insolence. Bon appetit~!”

Adrastos fed magoi into his wand, allowing him to create a 15m shadow wall to fall on top of the lizards, landing in a way that the spell barely missed its creator by 1m. The blue magician turned to look at Noir and asses the situation. She had sent Haku to him, but the beast would have nothing to do if the lizards were nothing more than a couple of meaty pancakes in the sand. The worm was nowhere to be seen, but was most likely underground, waiting for the perfect time to strike. Adrastos did not have the luxury to sit back and watch with an enemy still alive.

They were caught off guard by the large surprising shadow that soon headed their way, they did not have enough time to realize that it was deadly before it was too late. The massive shadow construct soon consumed them and they had no means of protecting themselves, soon their vision was consumed by it all, it suffocated their vision and soon they were killed by the large construct. When the attack would dissipate they would see that they had managed to kill the lizards, now all that was left to finish was the worm which had buried itself deep in the ground, but soon it would go on the move for its' attack.

As is dug it's way for the earth it used its' memory to remember where they were postioned. It burrowed up through the dirt until it would pop out .5m before the cat and would use Under Pressure to try and damage them but the cat decided to stand his ground using I ain't scared to block the incoming attack but it left the large worm out in the open for the group to attack. As the worm was focused on its' attack the lightning bolts soon shocked it frying the worm leaving it's body spasming for a second, but then all that was left was the carcass of the beast.

Now that they had finished the enemies all they had left to do was go touch the large looming gate that stood before them. They would now be able to move on from the deadly canyon.
