The Magicians Path Into Dedication [Noir/Adrastos] Desert_ruins_by_blinck-d304j7r

The magicians would feel a tugging on their bodies as they were pulled into the dungeon. They would feel their bodies being forcefully moved at a quick pace yet it wold not put a strain on their bodies at all. Everything would be a blur, but soon things would start fitting together to form the surrounding of the dungeon, the would see hues of brown and tan creating the background, they would be dizzy for a moment but their senses, in general, would come back soon and once that would happen they would be able to fury examine their surroundings and grasp a basic understanding of the place in which they had arrived.

The sun which was would be close to setting soon shined on them, though it was not very high in the sky the heat of the desert was still very real and would be noticeable to the magicians, they would still have a few hours before the sun would set but they would probably want to move soon. As they looked around they would notice the obvious crumbled buildings but of course that seemed to be of no real significance, to them, but when they got closer they wold notice that there were strange markings on it for some reason, for them it would be hard to distinguish if it was actual writing or if it was just a design.

The buildings seemed to increase in frequency closer to wear the direction to were the sun was setting, it was obvious that there was a reason for this but it would be the groups decision if they wanted to move on and go to were things would lead or if they wanted to discuss things.

It was a strange feeling that she felt when she got pulled into the dungeon, she couldn’t describe it with words. But it felt like she was just going through a wrap, even though it happened so fast. She could feel her heart beating very fast, almost like it was going to explode. Could it be that her excitement caused this? She couldn’t help but start to look around the area after shaking her head from a little dizziness she felt and noticed crumbled buildings. “Neo, Haku, are you alright?” She looked at both of her companion before pointing at the buildings, “I want to go look at the building… Please come with me.” She said, but she noticed the sun would be setting in a few hours and was slightly worried about it, “But can you handle the heat? If not, then we can continue our path.” If her mentor agreed to check it too, the black haired girl would quickly grab her mentor’s hand, tagging him along with her to approach the building so she could see this strange markings on the building. With the thirst to know what the meaning of the markings was, she took out a book from her bag and a pen, starting to copy some of the markings before moving on before the sun set.

The sensation of being stretched and pulled against his will was unnerving to the blue magician as he was dragged into the dungeon along with Noir. Disorientation was apparently some sort of side effect to entering the dungeon, making it difficult for Adrastos to concentrate on anything. Fortunately, everything became more clear while the area molded into what would be the interior of the dungeon itself.

The fact that the inside was that of a desert wasn’t much of a surprise, but it was still awe-inspiring, especially for a first-timer such as himself. His silver eyes scanned the area, taking note of the dilapidated structures and the shimmering of the air due to the intense heat. Adrastos opened his mouth to speak but was interrupted by Noir taking hold of his hand and taking him with her to one of the buildings. Upon closer inspection, there scrawled into the building, were markings of unknown origin. but what they meant, if anything at all, was a mystery.

Adrastos looked down at Noir, his eyes narrowing just a bit as he scrutinized her. “Noir, I know you want to obtain knowledge, but you must not wander off. This is a dungeon, not a field trip,” he said as he looked around once more, watching for anything that may approach. “If you wander off or do anything foolish, this will end up like the Shrouded Isle where your life was in danger and you nearly died but instead, was saved by the compassion of Ariella who sacrificed herself. There is no telling what sort of dangers lurk within this place. Keep that in mind.”

Adrastos turned his gaze back on his ally. “I suggest we keep moving. Staying in one place can be dangerous and I’d like to get a good idea of our surroundings.” If Noir listened to his suggestion and continued on, he would follow her without question. If not, then he would keep his guard up and watch their surroundings.

Surrounded by the crumbling structures they Noir and Adrastos had begun their journey through the perilous dungeon, as they would venture they would begin to notice their surroundings, they would notice how tiring the traveling would be, the sand made it difficult to move fast and the dry exhausting air would make them feel as if they were being dehydrated while travelling, it would be a gruelling travel for the pair of magicians since they did not have trained bodies that were used to this sort of weather, if they were not to take care of their bodies during their journey soon the weather would take a toll on their body and cause strange things to happen.

While walking along the ruins, the group would come across what seemed like a block in their path, standing in their path were two collapsed buildings causing a blockage, they were old and crumbled, there was no way for them to tell what had caused them to collapse on each other, maybe they just broke from age or were destroyed by something. They could walk through them, they could see whatever was inside or they could always try to find a way around them or such to move on.

While the blockage not very long it would still take a couple of minutes to walk around, the quickest route would of course been to go through it but there were things that might get in the way, while it may not have been a big deal which direction they went they would still have to decide which way they would want to take.

While they would decide what to do the sands slightly shifted around them, there seemed to be no breeze but there was the chance that it was subtle, no matter what they would choose to do it was obvious that moving would be the best choice, the sun disappeared more and more by the minute, if the heat didn't get to them then who would know what would happen next, whether they moved on or rested depended on how they wanted to handle the world in which they were in.

The female magician looked down after hearing her mentor’s suggestion, it was indeed her own fault that the kind hearted purple haired magician got killed but that wretched beast. “I understand… You are right.” She said, agreeing with the man as she didn’t want anyone else to die because of her recklessness and wrong choice. She wiped the sweat on her forehead, reaching into her pocket and took out a hair band before tying her hair up. The heat was already worse and she was sure it would get much worse than this, she would take another hair band and handed it to her mentor, hoping he would take it because probably his long silvery hair made him feel hot. After giving Haku a several loving pet, Noir would walk through the collapsed buildings, matching he walkig pace with Adrastos and Haku. True, it wouldn’t be wise to just wander around aimlessly and since the air in this strange world would be worse than the current, the black haired thought that they would better be quick.

Adrastos took the band from Noir so that he could use it to tie his silver mane back out of his face and off his neck. With that distraction out of the way, he grabbed his wand─it had once belonged to Vladmir until Adrastos stole it from the poor Alchemist's cadaver─from its holder on his belt. With a flick of his wrist, Adrastos created a small sphere of water to hydrate both him and Noir. "Drink some. We'll need to keep hydrated so we don't collapse from dehydration."

After Noir would take a drink, he too took some water into his mouth, allowing the coolness to wash over his mouth and reinvigorate him. Then, he followed Noir as she walked into the collapsed building, apparently deciding to go through them instead of around. His silver eyes looked around cautiously. "Be ready for anything, Noir, okay?"

The magicians who had entered the broken buildings to get through would notice a slight change in temperature as they had entered, it was the shade now making them slightly cooler. Even though it was obviously cooler they would notice the room was still hot, but nothing compared to the outside, in the current room they would not find themselves slowly being dehydrated by the heat. There was one downside to the area that they had entered, there was little light source coming in from the way the structures that had once stood there had collapsed on each other, there was some illumination but there was a good chance that by walking through they would bump into things if they did not have a proper source of lighting to help them get through the area, otherwise it would be like hunting in the dark.

The magician Adrastos had made a wise decision in making it able for him and his partner to be hydrated, while it may not be an issue at the moment it would eventually get to the pair, staying hydrated would be useful for the travel after all the amount of time they might be travelling was not certain so it was entirely possible that trekking through the massive and scorching desert would be detrimental to their health.

Now as they would have the moment to travel around it was their choice if they wanted to rest within the cool place or continue on and try to get though, after all it seemed there were no benefits to resting here except a chance to cool down and possibly eat some food before continuing their journey through the dungeon. As they were deciding what to do their would her crumbling noises, of course there would be though, after the structures were old and had already collapsed before so it wouldn't be a surprise if it were starting to fall apart more, hopefully, none of it would fall on them.

It was apparent that they would need to be cautious when going through the building since it seemed to be falling apart, sure it was unlikely that crumbling parts alone would hurt them unless there was something there to inflict harm upon the contestants. Nonetheless they now had more opportunities by coming into the building, it may have been a race but conserving their energy was also something important.

“Thank you…” She said to her mentor before drinking the water, sighed a little when she felt her throat was not dry anymore. She would reach for her wand too and create a small sphere of water, bringing it to her Liger’s lip so he could cool himself down. As she entered the broken buildings, she stopped walking, knowing that it wouldn’t be wise to just walk aimlessly in the dark when they didn’t really know what might happen. She would look at the silver haired magician and said, “Neo… could you please use your light magic to light the way?”

She wondered if they should get some rest now that the heat was not as scorching as the heat from outside, but she knew that the building was broken and it would be bad if suddenly the building crumbled when they rest. She would stop walking for a second and said, “We need to rest for several minutes…” She knew it was a wise choice considering that they need to preserve their energy so they can survive in such a harsh terrain. Noir looked around while sitting on the ground, keeping her guard just in case something would happen.

Adrastos nodded and commanded the rukh to form a sphere of light at the end of his wand upon Noir’s request. The light illuminated the crumbling building enough so that they could see and no long be stumbling within the dark. When she had requested to rest awhile, the blue magician didn’t complain or object. It wasn’t his place since he wasn’t the teacher anymore.

Adrastos remained standing even when Noir sat down; he felt that he needed to be on his feet so that he could act more quickly in case any danger revealed itself. “Only for a little while then,” he said while his silver eyes scanned their surroundings. “We just need to make sure we don’t stay too long. I’m not sure about how sturdy this structure is. It seems to be very weak, so who knows if it’ll fall down on us.”

Now with a light illuminating their path they would now be able to travel through the dark place, as they would see out of the corner of their eye small shifting figures, they seemed to be hard to keep an eye on, they moved quickly making sure not to make themselves noticed, it was as if they were messing with the adventurers whatever the creatures maybe, by the looks of it there seemed to be four shifting shadows, they ignored the adventurers though it was strange behavior as they did not show themselves to the group and at the moment they showed no sign of attacking, it was like some sort of game to them possibly.

As the pair moved through the collapsed building they would step over crushed rocks, there were broken old weapons by the looks of it and old ores signifying if the area had once been a place for smithing, they were only of course able to notice the metals for the fact that they had reflected the light back at the pair. As they looked they would notice markings on some of the broken items resembling the ones they would have seen during their time on the shrouded isle, their significance was unknown but they were marked on broken slabs strewn throughout the room.

As they reached the end there stood three creatures in their path, they stood 8m in front of the group blocking the path, The stood there making sure they would not be able to exit. In the middle was a sand trapper and standing to the left and right of the creature were sand goblins making sure they would not be able to pass. The monsters watched wondering what they would attempt.

As the light lit up the area, Noir would be tempted to explore the room because of the interesting markings on the broken slabs. But Haku started to let out a growl when he sniffed unknown scent in the area and became silent as soon as Noir pat his head, knowing that the black haired girl already aware of something that could appear. The female magician felt it too and looked around silently while slowly sitting up before staring at her mentor to give him a signal if he had not realize that they were not alone in the area. She slowly maneuvered her hand, reaching to her wand pocket as slow as she could while looking around. Her breathing became a little bit slower as she calmed herself and grabbed the wand, bringing it up so she could be ready to attack if something coming to attack them. But much to her surprise, when they reached the end of the room, there were three creature standing there, as if already waiting for their arrival. Noir stared at those three creatures, staring at them like how they staring at her and her mentor as well at her liger. She would tug Neo’s sleeve and whispered, “Seems like… they are studying us…” But she never let her eyes to left those three creatures. They were not attacking, but simply just guarding the exit… Noir didn’t know if she should just attack or not. They didn’t show any intention to attack at all and maybe, the black haired girl could try something else. So she inhaled a little bit, lifting down her hand to not showing her wand and asked to the three creatures, hoping they would understand. “Umm… Excuse me… Could you please give us a way through?”

Thanks to the light, the jaunt through the decaying structure was easier than if they braved it while under darkness. At least with the light, the two magicians were able to catch the swift movements in the shadows, unable to tell if they were dangerous creatures or merely shadows dancing deceitfully. The former was most likely the most accurate assumption, but if they were in fact monsters that lived in the dungeon, why did they act so strangely and not attack?

Other things grabbed the attention of the silver-haired magician, such as the strange markings that were scribbled on the shattered weapons. They were similar if not identical to the ones seen on the island of hell, the Shrouded Isle, but Adrastos understood no more than what he did while on the island. Considering this, there was nothing he could learn from the writings, so they were placed at the back of his mind.

When they reached the end, three figures, a cloaked monster and two little goblins on either side, stood in their path, their eyes suggesting that they would not allow the magicians to pass, or at least had no intention of allowing it. They were also observing the pair, making the silver-haired man’s skin to crawl. Adrastos would have attacked right then and there to eliminate the creatures in their way, but Noir stopped him just by talking. She was going to try the more non-violent approach by asking to pass. He wouldn’t lie, it was a good idea, but given the way the creatures looked at them and simply stood there, he doubted they would listen. Not only that, but Noir had lowered her wand. Adrastos wouldn’t follow suit, deciding to scrutinize the three creatures with his icy cold stare and be alert for any ill fortune they may try to inflict.

The creatures that blocked their path showed absolutely no signs of life; they stood like statues with fixed gazes, and did not feel as if they were a threat to the magicians. Adrastos cautiously walked closer, his silver eyes narrowed in suspicion. As he continued to close the distance, they still didn’t move.

Why were they her blocking their path yet not attacking? Weren’t they here to stop the pair from advancing? Either way, an opportunity arose and there would be no other time to take it other than now. “Come on, Noir,” he said, waving her forward, “They don’t look like they’ll be moving anytime soon.”

Together, both him and Noir would continue on their journey through the desert within the dungeon, bypassing the the current wave of monsters and possible traps that laid in wait within the immediate area. There was no time to waste for time was of the essence.

She was still gazing at the creature, waiting for them to react after she asked for permission to go through, until Adrastos called her name. She gazed at the creature once more and replied, “I guess so…” After she walked closer to the creatures, they didn’t even move and only sat there, staring at them. It felt like they wouldn’t do anything other than just staring at them for the moment, so Noir nodded towards her mentor and carefully walked past them to pass through their immediate surroundings. It was a strange occurrence, but then again they were inside a dungeon; weird things might happen, and she was sure that there would be even more strange things that would happen in the future. Noir knew she needed to be prepared at all times. With a light sigh escaping her lips, she bypassed the first group of monsters and any possible traps in the current area while continuing to walk beside her mentor and her liger.

As the magicians walked by the creatures they would hear a slight snickering from the creatures that had allowed them to pass through. It was strange that they had been allowed through but they would feel an ominus aura coming from the creatures, it was strange behavior, it was a weird occurence but anything was possible in a type place like this, it wasn't completly out of the realm of possibilty that creatures would not want to engage in combat because they didn't want to. There might have also been the chance that they only wanted to scare them away from the current area but the pair would never know most likely, they would just be left curious.

After the pair had passed the creatures they would be back into the empty desert, as they were soon outside they would notice the sun was setting and nightfall would soon fall. Unless the pair had experince to desrts or have some sort of knowledge they would have no idea what would happen when night would fall, soon they would notice as the sun was sinking that the tempature would start lowering to cold levels which would start to cool the magicians. It would be no big deal but surely the rapid dropping tempature of the unfolding night would make the young adventurers feel as if they were freezing.

Ahead of them they would see a large standing gate standing alone with nothing surrounding it and nothing behind it, the massive door was 50m but they were still able to make out the shape from a distance, they would have to walk there but their journey in the room would be reaching it's end soon, they had not faced much adversity nonetheless they had both done lots of walking, and as neither of them were used to training their bodies physically they would start feeling minor tiredness but nothing that would affect the group in the slightest.

Something odd they could hear tho was a pitter patter of little feet, if they were to look behind them they would have noticed that a small creature had followed them out of the ruins, it kept itself at a distance and did not make any noise but it kept it's eye on them, if gave them a strange look, and it gave no specific aura so they would not be able to tell the intentions of the creature.

As she heard the snicker as she went by the creatures, Noir would stop for a little bit and gazed at the strange creatures that just sat right there like a lifeless statues. ‘…snickers…?’ She gulped down a little bit, wanting to examine them but she should not waste more time; so the black haired girl exited to the vast desert. The temperature was changing, it was much lower than before and she could feel the cold wind caressed her cheek. Haku would rub his body on Noir’s leg and growled softly to the girl, wanting to remind her that he could easily adjust his body temperature so he could surely protect both of the magicians from cold. He was big enough to be their leaning place too, so whenever they were ready to rest and sought for some warmth, he would be there for them. Noir gazed at her liger with a loving gaze while giving him a light scratch behind his ears that was enough to made him purr like a kitten.

In front of them was a strange looking gate and after deciding that they should head there, Noir called her mentor, knowing that they better walk near the liger. They would start walking towards the gate with the liger act as their heater by walking in the middle and increasing his body temperature. But as they walked, Haku would suddenly stop as his nose sniffed something. He would maneuver his body to turn back and both of the magicians would notice that a small creature has followed them. Again, a strange looking creature showed up, giving them this kind of creepy, strange look. Keeping up her guard, Noir reached for her wand and gripped it tightly, preparing herself if that small creature suddenly became hostile or for any danger that would appear. If after several second the creature has not made it moves, her small hand would pat the soft fur of her liger, signaling him to keep walking through the gate while she said to Neo to guard their back as she looked around, maintaining their safety. Only when they finally arrived in front of the gate, Noir would see if the small creature still following them or not, wanting to know what the creature would do, or to see what kind of intention that it had.

The snickers that slithered past the lips of the creatures as the magicians passed was unsettling for a number of reasons, but no question screamed louder than why. Why did they let the pass so easily? Why didn’t they attack? Why did they snicker? These questions gnawed at the back of Adrastos’ mind as they pressed forward, into the darkening day that gave way to chilly night.

The night was certainly cold, colder than what the silver-haired magician was used to, and the walk did nothing to help him either as fatigue gently tugged at him as if he wore a leash. Still, he pressed on alongside Noir’s liger, grateful for its thick fur and body heat to keep them at least a bit warmer than if they were without him.

However, as they neared a gate-like structure that stood out of place within its surroundings, there was a strange sound emanating from behind. When Adrastos turned, he saw that one of the goblins had followed them. The creature’s intentions were foggy because it showed no signs of aggression, but it also did not retreat. The goblin’s beady stare sliced through the chilled air, causing Adrastos to tense and grip his wand tightly. The creature reminded the silver-haired magician about Vaughn, a child whom he had met while in Reim that always offered an innocent smile while hiding his true colors deep inside. “I’m not liking this,” he murmured to Noir.

The creature stepped forward revealing itself more giving the magicians a clear image of what it was, the moonlight shone on its' face revealing it to be a small cat. It looked at them with beady eyes shivering in the cold. The small feline seemed like it feared them but showed some sort of bravery by stepping up to the adventurers. The cat opened up it's mouth as if it were to make a meow but as it opened came out a small feminine voice from the cat, it's words shook showing how afraid the creature was, almost like it was a sort of squeak.

"P-p-please d-don't harm me, kind people, I just wanted t-to follow you since you seemed so strong. Y-you guys walked past those creatures like it was nothing so I w-was just following you and hope to see how you can be so brave. I just wanted to learn so that I could learn to stand up for myself so I could be able to get m-more food."

Whether or not they acknowledged the kitten they would soon be upon the gate, once they arrived upon the gate they would notice a large area surrounding the door which seemed to be locked but besides it there was some sort of lever that would most likely be used for opening the massive door. As the looked at it the area seemed strange, though, there were a bunch of tiles laid out in front of the gate and some seemed like they were lower sunken into the ground than the others. It was as if something had smashed onto them or if something large had stepped on them. Maybe there had been some battle there or maybe there was a reason for the strange layout of tiles in the desert, all that was certain was that it was strange.

The cat strolled up behind them still shivering and seemingly scared but it spoke up again to inform the group, it was strange for an introduction from a dungeon creature but it did it nonetheless.

"B-by the way, my name is Thyme and I am the explorer cat, I h-h-hope that we can be friends."

Noir eyes widened when she saw the small creature revealed itself under the moonlight, showing its feline features that it has and looked afraid. She still held her wand tightly, not sure if the kitten would bring them any harm or not until she listened that the small cat actually could speak. It looked cute for her though, and the cute feature that the cat had made Noir had this rosy cheeks, ‘Cute…’. Haku would growl to Noir softly, as if telling her that she should listen to what the smaller feline want to say until the end. The reason on why the kitten followed them was a little odd for Noir, as she assumed that dungeon beast was supposed to be strong enough to get their own food… or not, maybe? Maybe this poor kitten didn’t know how to do it and she remembered on how she took care of her liger back then, teaching him everything she could in order to make him able to get his own food properly. But she didn’t know what kind of hidden intention that the cat had towards them, so maybe the best option was to just let it follow them and see how things went.

Without any doubts, Noir would step closer towards the cat and motioned Haku to come with her. “Neo… come with me to pick up the cat…?” If Neo agreed to do so, once they were close enough to the cat, Haku would approached closer and licked the smaller feline, growling a little bit signaling that the feline could mount him to at least getting some warm emitting from his body. Pleased to see how nice Haku was to Thyme made Noir proud of him and petted his head a little bit before she gazed at the kitten, “My name is Noir, he is Haku, and the silver haired man is Neo… Pleased to meet you, Thyme…” She had this kind and warm gaze at the little cat even though her expression was blank and there was no smile at all carved on her face.

After that, she would notice some strange things around the gate and would carefully observe it, “I wonder what happened with these tiles, some of it sunk lower than the others… Maybe it will trigger any traps if one step on the higher tiles…? Or perhaps a giant stepped on it? Strange…” She cupped her chin, thinking of every possibility that might happen. Then she noticed a lever right beside the gate, assuming that it might open the gate, the black haired girl tugged her mentor’s sleeve. “I will push the lever, but… I’d suggest for us to get ready of what might wait for us inside the gate…” And she would push the lever after that with her right hand while holding her wand tightly in her left hand, heart beating fast because she couldn’t assume on what might waiting for them inside.

A small furry kitten was the creature that had followed them, not the goblin as he originally assumed. It was a tiny thing, shivering against the crisp air of the dungeon’s desert. However, unlike the typical cat, this one spoke. Adrastos wasn’t sure how to react to a talking kitten, but Noir made it seem like it was a usual occurrence to meet a cat that was capable of human speech. So far, this whole dungeon was a nuthouse. It wouldn’t surprise him if people went insane and died without a trace of sanity left.

Noir had introduced her and her comrades to the cat, still using one of Adrastos’ alias’. A part of him had to remember that she still did not know his real name, and that the truth was still in one of his pockets, written in fancy script lettering that he learned thanks to Akina. Maybe one day she’ll learn the truth before it was too late, but the timing was always wrong. There was always something happening, someone interfering.

Adrastos ignored the kitten’s comment on them being ‘kind people’ since he was by no means kind. Instead, he studied the gate before them, noticing the sunken tiles in the sand. He wondered what could have caused them, and was skeptical about the lever which Noir was about to pull. Despite that, Adrastos made no move to stop his comrade, figuring that the only way to move forward was to pull the lever. He gripped his wand tightly within his right hand and prepared for whatever was to come.

Before the girl would be able to get to the lever she would find that she had stepped on one of the elevated tiles causing it to push into the ground, as it pushed into the ground a clasp soon sprung forth from underneath and grabbed her foot sinking it in place. She was 10m away from the lever but would be unable to reach for it in her current condition. She would have to break the trap in order to keep moving though she could always have her companion to such for her but no matter what it did need to be broken by something.

"Mraaaww~ are you okay miss?"

Thyme meowed in concern for the girl, he looked at her and noticed it was because she had stepped on something, the kitten looked around trying to look for some sort of route but for now it seemed hard unless something where to leap across and try to get to the lever, otherwise it would take slow and precise steps to avoid the trap tiles.

The male magician would notice that his partner was now in a predicament, but he would also now know that the higher raised tiles seemed as if they were booby-trapped making getting to the lever hard. There was a chance he could try to get to the lever for his partner, but it would require him to get to it of course and if by walking then there was the risk of accidentally stepping on one of the traps if he were to not be careful and attentive while traversing the area. At least they didn't have to worry about enemies at the moment it seemed, but as the wind howled and the night only got colder and harsher two knows what could happen if they waited out in the area too long.

The black haired girl gasped when a clasp sprung and grabbed her foot, making her lose her balance and fell on the ground. Haku growled and attempted to approach Noir only to be halted by the girl, “Stay there, Haku. There might be more traps around…” The liger could only watch, understanding the black haired girl’s mean to prevent him falling to same kind of trap. Haku would then growled softly to the kitten, suggesting Thyme to not do anything reckless for now and should try to find the way to help the female magician or assisting the male magician to pull the lever.

After looking around for a second, Noir gazed at her mentor, “Neo, could you make your way to the lever? Bring Haku if you think he can help you to avoid the trap…” She pleaded, she was too far from the lever and judging from the situation, she knew that she should free herself soon. She didn’t want to be late as she didn’t know what kind of thing might happen if she didn’t quickly destroy the trap. It felt like the thing that chained her when she was a slave, and she didn’t like it. So with a little flick on her wrist, she casted Fulmine Lancia, producing two lightning spears towards the clasp to dissolve it. If it was destroyed, Noir would slowly stand up and observe of what her mentor could do to go towards the lever after motioning Thyme to stay close to her by sitting on her shoulder.

With Noir going first and accidentally stepping on one of the tiles, it was clear to the blue magician what the tiles did: they sunk into the ground due to the weight and sprung a trap that would latch onto the object that triggered the device. Even without Noir’s suggestion, he would have maneuvered himself around the tiles with expert caution.

The reason why the magician did not ask if his comrade was all right was most likely because he had faith that she could get herself out. She was a resourceful young lady and didn’t give up, a quality Adrastos quite endeared and understood that it originated from her slave life. However, he couldn’t think of her with the obstacle they faced needing to be surpassed.

Adrastos, with precise footing, would place his foot on the first tile, pressing against with his foot without putting all the effort a full step would have, then proceeding if there wasn’t a trap. His eyes studied the ground for any signs of patterns, but there didn’t seem to be anything evident, making this a bit more difficult than he would have preferred. The task was a bit time consuming, but they had to keep moving. Each minute within this dungeon at night put them at risk due to the descending temperature.

Once he got to the other side where the lever was at, assuming he had not stepped on a tile, Adrastos would pull the lever and watch for any signs of what would happen.

As the magician had slowly pressed his foot on the tile he would notice if he listened closely that something was moving beneath his feet, that sound was most likely one of the types of traps that had preoccupied her partner. The tile he stepped on was also a raised one like one of the tiles that his partner had stepped on putting herself in her current position, it seemed that the raised tiles had been linked to traps, but it was uncertain about the sunken tiles, they showed no signs that traps were there but they were lower into the ground so something must have caused them to be lower than the others.

The girl found herself freed from the trap now that she had broke it but now she would have to be cautious as to not step on another one. After all it was not sure if all the traps were the same, there was a chance that if the black haired girl had stepped on another one that it could end up in here being hurt. Communication would be important if they both wanted to move on, sure even if her partner had opened the gate how would she get across, hopefully, they would both figure out how to get across. As they would decide what to do Thyme has jumped away from Noir and landed on one of the tiles.

"Guys it seems like not all of the tiles are trapped, maybe there's a way to tell."

The cat looked forward wondering what to do next, he wanted to work with the pair and help them. After all they were not alone and it was best to work together on a solution.

The female magician observed what happened when her mentor slowly stepped on one of the elevated tiles, the silver haired man didn’t proceed to fully put his weight on the tile and the black haired girl assumed that maybe that tile had a trap too. It wouldn’t be wise to keep being outside because of the decreasing temperature, so she really needed to think of some other way to reach the lever. While she was thinking, the cat jumped away from her and landed on one of the tiles. She got ready to save the cat in case he activated a trap but nothing happened. This was strange, was this tiles were some kind of a puzzle? She didn’t know, everything was odd here and that was to be expected.

Perhaps they could use the same method as what Neo did to proceed, but she needed to know first, “Neo, what makes you stop pressing your foot on the tile? Do you feel something?” Once she heard the answer, Noir would motion Haku to stay first, assuming that the liger was too big to cross the tiles and might accidentally activate the trap. Then she would give her idea, “Neo, Thyme, perhaps we can try to use the same method. Three of us can try to slowly press our foot on one of the tiles, the moment you hear something moving beneath you, stop pressing and mark it so the other know it shouldn’t be stepped on.” She could just hope that it would work; considering the temperature would still decrease and she didn’t want everyone else to be frozen to dead.
