Job Details:

“Keep your head up, Sir Khareem... You don’t have to lower your pride...” The swordsman stepped towards the chief and offered his hand to lift him up. The chief couldn’t lower his pride right now as the village was now in the verge if extinction and the villagers were panicked as well. They needed someone who could keep his calm and integrity, someone who wouldn’t step back no matter what. This kind of scene would just make the villagers lost their trust to their own leader, that was what Tenma believed. ‘No time for internal problems and trust issues right now...’

The black haired man would then help the chief to stand up and started asking question, “Do you have any clue of their whereabouts?” He looked right into those weary eyes which looked like would lose its light of hope in another minutes. “...I am truly sorry, young ones... for I don’t know any clue about it... The only thing I know is only most of my men were fallen at the eastern side of the forest, but there was nothing there and no clue pointing to their hideout.” The tone of his words was pitiful, filled with sadness and depression. But the swordsman didn’t say anything else, he would just looked at the redhead and nodded towards him, signaling that they would go to investigate the eastern side of the forest near the village. He will then averted his gaze back to the old man, firmly tapping his shoulder and left the tent. But just before he stepped out, the chief opened his lips, “W-wait...young ones, at least tell me your name, please...” Tenma raised his eyebrow again, wondering why the chief was so— ‘Ahh...’ He noticed the pity from the chief’s expression, showing that even he was not sure if those two would made it alive and only wanted to know their name to give them prayer later if they didn’t made it alive. ‘Typical...’ The one eyed man chuckled before saying his name, “Mikazuki Tenma... The heavenly demon of the crescent moon.” He reached to his flask that was filled with Sake and threw it to the chief, “There, drink some of it. You’ll feel better!” After that he exited the tent, waiting for Hiro to come out as well and said, “I need to make some preparation, so see you outside the village gate in 30 minutes.” He smiled to the Fanalis and waved his hand before he made his way to somewhere that quite far from there, any place that no one was there and he could be alone to unleash his true self.

A chuckle escaped his lips then it followed by a laughter that sounded as dark as the night, the swordsman lifted his arms and cupped his face with his big palm as if covering his laughter. He felt crazy, he couldn’t seem able to fully control himself today as he recalled how he almost killed one of the guards before. Those desire kept coming out, tainting his sanity and taking over his body slowly, attempting to change him into something wretched. He moves his hand a little to the side, touching his eyepatch and pulled it down to show the bright crimson orb stacked neatly beside his golden orb. The pain in his red eye was not as painful as that night, but he could feel it twitching in pain in every second, like he would be blind in another second. He needed to kill, needed to feel his Katana cutting through the meat and bones and needed to see or feel the blood gushing out from his victim’s body.

“No... She will be there...maybe...” Tenma inhaled some air and exhaled it slowly, trying to control himself again, “I need to control myself... or she will be afraid of me...” He couldn’t imagine how he would continue to live if one day, when he managed to find his sister, she rejected him. He had thought several things such as killing both of them or just ending his life, and for him, the last option was much better. No matter how much of anger he felt if his sister rejected her, he wouldn’t go as far as killing— ‘Dammit... Tenma... you made a vow... don’t you dare thinking to kill her...’ He gritted his teeth, feeling the insanity crawling out from his mind and exhaled air again through his lips. He closed his eyes, emptying his mind for a while before finally putting on his eyepatch to cover his crimson right eye as if covering his own darkest desire. His hand reached to his Katana and he slowly caressing Myou’s handle before he opened his eye that now was full of determination. “Time to go...”

His feet brought him to the outside of village gate where he promised to meet the redhead by bringing three water bags that were hanged on his waist. If Hiro was already waiting there, both of them would made their way to the eastern forest around 3 km from the village. They would enter the dark path between the tropical trees and exploring around, searching for any clue that they could find. There was not any visible clue right there at a quick glance but the swordsman could smell something that he knew really well, blood. But he knew in this kind of forest, such smell was common, not to mention that there might be any wildlife living here. Tenma looked at his companion, wondering if his friend had something to say, “What do you think, Hiro...?”

"Hmm?" Hiro let the sound be released from his voice, he looked up to a warm cloud covered sky. He looked from side to side and looked at a man on horse back. He had given his name, and seemed to be cautious. The words were fuzzy but he felt calm and loosened his grip on his spear and tilted his head slightly to see how the woman next to him was adjusting to the situation.  A companion? She was nervous, and scooted closer to Hiro. She wrapped her arms around his head. Was that her way of protecting herself? Hiro scanned the man that sat before him. He didn't seem all that threatened, but it would be unwise to provoke a lion that's near its den. But....Where was he exactly? Hiro could feel as he raised his eyebrow at the other man. This would turn out to be an interesting turn of events. Hiro saw that the man had two follows. This put an involuntary grin on his face. The man before him was confident much so that he again loosened his grip on his spear once more, he sat his weapon down completely.

The man couldn't help but stare, shocked. They had broken words, but Hiro for whatever reason could not hear them. At this point he was getting used to that part but he could see the man's face so vividly and saw that it was completely awestruck. "Lord Zianhan does not like Shao, and it is quite possible that there may be blood between us later on. Because of that, I keep as many of Shao's fools away from our city, while We stay away from his. Keeps everyone alive just that much longer. I never got your name, Sir." The man said, Hiro's mind registering the entire thing the man said. He was familiar with those names. They were both regional lords but Hiro could not remember from where. As if Hiro was about to say something to the man, it was he became deaf and mute and the memory began to fade away from mind once more. Again, Hiro awoke from his little day dream and looked over to Tenma, asking for his input.

To be honest, Hiro's mind was blurred and he seemed confused. Although the chief had addressed him, Hiro did not say a word, he merely walked out of the room as if in a trance. He had took his a reward but that was all. Then when Tenma told Hiro to prep for the next part of the mission, the silent warrior nodded his head acknowledging what had been stated. "Lords Zianhan and Lord Shao." He thought to himself. The names seemed so familiar that it had such an impact in his memory more so than the blurred words and faces. Who were these men? Hiro went to the tavern like place in the village and grabbed himself a drink as he rubbed his eyes. His focus has been off more than usual as of late and knew why. All the blasts from the past as of late have been bothering him even while he was in battle. Was he getting closer to the truth or was he fading even faster?

After inhaling his drinking like that of a crazed animal, he stood and walked out. He went to meet with Tenma, bringing with him, his usual equipment as well as bags of water to help with the heat. Once they met, he walked with Tenma quietly starting the mission right away without a word. They didn't speak with one another until the found themselves a clue. Hiro bent a knee next to Tenma, whom of which already started looking into it. Tenma looked back to him and asked Hiro what were his thoughts. Hiro used his keen sense and looked down and found tracks and took a big inhale of air. The smell of blood without of following of rotton flesh meant the blood was freshly spilled. Which would mean, they were either too late or....Before he could finish his thoughts the sounds of screams echoed only his tuned ears could hear. He could hears the faint words being said of what they were going to do to the screaming woman. How they just wanted her to keep on struggling. That there was no hope for her and that no one cared since she was given to them.

"There's no one here but us and you, pretty little thing."

"Struggle all you want, there is no escape."

"There is no one that cares enough for you to save you."

"There is no hope for you except through me, your master."

"TENMA!" He shouted out at the young man, keeping his spear tight in hand as he charged expecting the young man to follow. "The camp is nearby. I don't know the exact spot but I can hear a screaming woman's voice!" Hiro shouted again. Normally Hiro would take the stealth approach and take the bandits by surprise or remained a level of calm in his mind. But something spiked within his mind. His blood was rushing, his mind scattered, his heart raging and burning with monsterous thirst for blood. Hiro let out a mighty roar as he charged into the small encampment of men. "TIME TO DIE!"

Hiro threw this spear into one of the men, but that didn't stop his momentum. He ran and spun kicked one other of the men doing a complete 540 spin round kick slamming his shin into the man's jaw. He lands on his other foot elegantly continuing his spin. Continuing to use this momentum, he spun and spotting his next victim. With speed he hooked kicked a third bandit that was near the other two spending him flying several feet away from the camp. Hiro stopped and took in a deep breath when he finally stopped his attack. He walked to the one bandit he threw his spear into and twisted it left and right. The man's screamed echoed throughout the camp. Hiro knelt down to the man having familiarizing his voice as the torturer.

"There is no one here but me." Hiro whispered to the man mimicking all he had heard from the torturer and would be slave owner. Hiro dug his spear deeper into the man's shoulder. "Struggle all you want, there is no escape." Hiro said as he twisted his blade again. "There is no one who cares enough to save you." He said twisting the other way, the man's screams muffled by Hiro's hand. While Hiro becoming progressively louder. "THERE IS NO HOPE FOR YOU, EXCEPT THROUGH ME!" Hiro roared into the man's face and the bandit's eyes filled with tears and of fear. His body was shaking with pain, while Hiro in contrast, his eyes filled with anger. With the hand that covered the man's month moved down to squeeze his neck tightly. With a quiet whisper, "Your executioner." Hiro allowed the man to let out one final scream as Hiro painfully pulled out. Then squeeze tightly with a mighty grip and felt the life of the man fade.

He stood up quietly, his rage sated and his mind calmed once more. He looked over to the woman passed out from the pain she had to endure. Hiro picked up the woman quietly and as gently as possible. As he used one arm to hold her, Hiro used his free hand to move her hair and see her face. Slightly waking he could tell that she had been through much from this one day alone. So much more could of happened if it weren't for him and Tenma. Once she realized that the duo had came to save her. The woman's eyes filled with tears as and fill into the man's chest. Hiro held her tight as he began to walk back to the village, knowing Tenma would finish off the rest and trek back to the village.

He didn’t say a word as the Fanalis dashed off after hearing woman’s voice, thinking that this man was truly a beast himself as he was able to hear something that he, a normal human couldn’t even hear even though he focused his hearing. Hiro lost his calm, the one eyed man could see those icy wall around his companion broken and only left the raging flame engulfing his mind. The swordsman knew it was never good when someone lost it, especially it was his companion who lost his own control over himself. But he wouldn’t interfere, he noticed that Hiro had something in his mind ever since they met at the first time, something that made the redhead ended up to enter some sort of trance, even though other might not notice it, the black haired man could see it by using his sharp observation skill.

‘That’s to be expected… He is a Fanalis… But…’ He decided to not gave it a thought and observe Hiro as he start his rampage, slightly looked around the camp to find a woman that the redhead mentioned before only to find a woman weakly lying on the ground. He would slowly stepped inside the camp, planning to leave all three bandits for Hiro to deal with so he could take care of the woman, bringing her away from this madness from the redhead. But he stopped walking and only stare at the unconscious woman, his face color changed into a whitely ghost and his golden eye widened. ‘…no…. don’t tell me…’ He said to himself, several time, repeating that same exact words into himself over and over again. The woman had this kind of similarity with his little sister, those black locks and slender figure, but then again he wouldn’t know how she would look now as it had been several years since the last time they saw each other. She was just a little girl back then, and he remembered that one day when his little sister weakly collapsed because of the fever.

The scene before his eyes now made him remember that one small fragment of his memories, seeing that captured woman who was clearly passed out after being tortured made him recalled something that he shouldn’t recall while he was in the mission. Now his focus broke, shattered into pieces as he couldn’t help but to halt his step, not sure what he was supposed to do. ‘What if… that woman is really her…’ He snapped back as Hiro roared to the bandit’s face, making him aware of his surrounding but still not regained himself, he only stared as the redhead taking the last breath from the bandit before walked to the woman and picked her up. Tenma was trying to say something as he opened his mouth, but his voice wouldn’t come out and hesitation filled his mind too. He was afraid… afraid that if that woman was really his sister, she might reject him… But he was not sure, that woman surely was giving the same vibe as his sister back then, a strong, but fragile little flower. So he just standing still and didn’t say anything as the Fanalis walked back to the village while bringing the now conscious woman with him.

Several minutes passed and Tenma still not moving from his spot, needed some time to clear his mind and stop the tremor on his hands.  But he felt some presences approaching the camp where he was in now and still didn’t do anything, he waited and waited… feeling his blood boiled inside and his bloodlust raising to the peak. The swordsman could feel it, the murderous intent from them was massive, probably because seeing their fallen comrade weakly laid on the ground. ‘…1….2….3….4….5.’ he counted, and the exact moment when he finished counting, he reached his Wakizashi, lifted it up and used it to parry the slash that was aimed to his neck. The one eyed man could feel it, letting him to not being under control and letting all his madness loose by using the Wakizashi to deliver two downward diagonal cuts and slashed the bandit.

He spotted two more bandits charged towards him right after he turned his back, one of them attempting to thrust his sword to Tenma’s abdomen and another one sending slash, attempting to cut his arm off. The black haired man chuckled and laughed while reaching for his Katana with his right hand, making him wielding a full set of his weapon at the same time. Both of his hands moved in the same manner, lifting it so he could perform Joho Giri, sending 2 slashes from each weapon he held right now. The pressure from the clash made the bandits had difficulties to fully grip their swords and giving the chance for Tenma to dash towards one of the left and sent two front kicks, knocking the man and using his Katana to stab the throat, ending his life by doing that.

There was a glint of fear inside the last remaining bandit’s eyes, he wailed and his body was shaking hard. Tenma stepped slowly, approaching the man with the twisted look from his eyes, while dragging his blood covered Katana with him. “Hey…” He called, but his voice didn’t made the bandit calmer, “Don’t worry… I won’t hurt you…”But his tone was not even giving any warm feeling, it was cold and almost empty.

“I will just… split your body into several pieces…making you feel the pain while I cut you slowly…” The man screamed in horror as Tenma lifted his Katana and performed Tameshigiri III, the punishing move from ancient east. “…” he didn’t move away from the corpse, didn’t even bother to wipe the blood that splattered to his face after he beheaded the bandit and cut him into pieces. Strange… he didn’t feel any pleasure from it, like he needed to kill more, making his desire to feel blood to be fulfilled. ‘…whatever then…’ he murmured under his breath and planning to head back to the village soon but stopping himself to go any further as he heard a whimper. He noticed one of the bandit was still alive, but he was weak and possibly couldn’t even fight back. So the swordsman approached the bandit and brought him along to the village, the bandit would whimper again weakly but Tenma would hush him, “Sshh… you will be useful…” A wide smirk appeared on his face while he said so and proceeded to head back to the village so he could interrogate more.

It was an overcast night. Clouds blocked the moon from view, all but eliminating the light. Hiro stalked the alleyways between houses, looking for something cleanse his mind. The houses and shops had long since closed for the night, and stood locked with windows closed. All except one. There was a second story window that was cracked open with faint candle light flickering from inside. Carefully the battle torn man with red hair made his way across the street towards the destination, turns out it was like a moth to a flame, in his case a man to a tavern. After seeing what he did, what he said, even having save the woman. It felt wrong but it felt natural to him. He sat soundly on a seat at the bar, ordered himself a drink. The warrior placed his elbows on the hard wood counter, his hands weaved through his blood red hair slowly as he warrior thought to himself.

"Is that....The true me?"
