Job Details:
Job Name: Investigating the Black Spiders, Pt III
Job Rank: D
Job Location: Reim
Job Rewards: 50 XP/3,000 Huang
Job Prerequisites: Unity Corp/Pt II
Job Overview: By the end of the meeting, you find out there is a small base used for recruiting on the outskirts of Remano. Scout the location and find out anything you can about how this base connects to the Black Spiders. Gather communications from Remus but make sure you don’t get caught. Once again, do not remove anything, either memorize or copy the information, then report back to Sly for the best way to proceed.

"How long were you there, Shadow?!" Bahir chuckled as the two spies walked into the Unity Corps main office. Bahir sat at his desk and leaned back into his chair as Shade sat across from him. "For a while. A few minutes before the slave trader got there. You never closed the window. You need to remember the details.. The fanalis smiled and scratched his chin. Shade gave the head of the information sector of the Corps with a rather spiteful glance. The look was greeted with a smile from the fanalis, knowing that the irritation his Captain felt was only temporary. "It'll be alright. Alright. Report. What do you think about the information we gained?"

Shade sighed and began to replay the recon mission to his boss. The two spies seemed to brainstorm off of each other for a few minutes. How they should go about scouting the base that they found out about and what they should do about the possibility of the officials being bribed by merchants and slave traders. Especially the officials that were seeking senate seats. The entire situation gave Bahir a headache. Since Lagi was gone, he had to deal with all fronts of this job. The mind of these politicians infuriated him a bit. He honestly gained a bit of respect for Lagi and the council members, realizing that these were the kind of people that they had to deal with on a regular basis. I wonder... if I would be able to... He shook his head, keeping himself on track with the task at hand. He needed to figure something out sooner rather than later.

"Thank you, Shade. I'll deal with the rest. Let the captains know that they should be ready in case we need to move out. Until then, keep up the good work with training." Shade nodded and bowed before exiting the office. Bahir sighed and leaned forward and rested his elbows on his desk. I think... Hm. I know what I'm going to do.. The fanalis stood from his desk and headed towards his quarters. The meeting wasn't for a few days, he'd spend his time relaxing ntil then. No need to stay worked up.

The day that Bahir was waiting on finally came. The slave trader was going to meet with the Black Spiders... and so was Bahir. The fanalis dressed in his former attire, resembling the Bahir that first came to Remano. He was wearing his dark purple pants and midriff shirt, with a black cloth tied around his forehead. Though it was lighter, this outfit almost felt unfamiliar to him. Wow... has it really been that long? He thought to himself as he grinned, a little impressed with how his clothes fit. They weren't as loose as they used to be, but it wasn't because of him gaining any fat. His training started to show in his muscle definition and increase, however slight it may have been.

His moment of vanity over, Bahir left the palace and made his way to the slave trader's hideout. HOping that the man would pass by there before going to meet at the Black Spiders' base. Bahir hid in a nearby tree, waiting for a little more than half of an hour until he saw the man approach the building. Bingo. He thought to himself as he watched the slave trader enter for a few minutes and then emerge once more. Bahir was glad that he didn't take any action towards the man before. He seemed to be able to get a lot of information from this poor slave trader than he expected. Once he headed down the road, Bahir slowly and quietly lowered himself from the tree and began to tail him.

The fanalis made mental notes of the path that they were taking and what was around it. It surprisingly didn't take long before they arrived at the base. Bahir raised his eyebrow at the building. He had seen it before, but he couldn't remember what it was used for. No matter now. Whatever it used to be used for, good or bad, it was a pain for Reim now. This place harbored an organization of slave traders, an act outlawed by the Emperor. It was pretty ballsy for them to continue operating in this area.

Bahir found cover a good distance from the building. He hid in a thicket so as to not be seen, but observe the comings and goings of the building. Apparently the slave trader was a bit anxious, seeing as he was a bit early to the get together. After he entered the building, Bahir stayed in his hiding spot to watch. There were a large number of men and women to approach the building from different directions and after a couple of hours, they all began to leave. Bahir waited patiently until the mass of people went their separate ways and cleared out the building. A few minutes passed and one last person was seen exiting the building.

Wanting to make sure that no one was there, Bahir waited for another half hour. The sun had just lowered below the horizon. This was Bahir's cue. The fanalis quickly made his way to and inside of the building. He stood in front of the door, his eyes darting back and forth. He didn't see any other people there at the moment and heard no other movements. Clear. He thought to himself as he swept the building. He seemed to come up on a desk on the top level of the base. The office was clean save for a few letters on the desk. Narrowing his eyes, Bahir approached the desk slowly. He stood over the wooden furniture once more before looking around once more to try and make sure no one was inside. Once his suspicions were eased, the fanalis looked through the letters on the desk. They spoke of finding slavers and trade merchants that would ally with their cause... and each one was signed by "R" with an insignia stamped to the paper. Bahir could only assume that the "R" stood for Remus Roma.

Just as Bahir was about to leave, he heard movement just outside of the door. The fanalis looked around quickly and darted towards a corner at 15 m/s, using his Shadow Blend to ensure that he wouldn't be seen. Is this... He thought to himself as the door to the office opened. Unfortunately, Bahir recognized the individual. It was the man that met with the slaver before. Apparently this was his office. Bahir watched as the man grabbed the letters on the desk and shoved them into one of the drawers. The man sat at the desk for a moment and began writing another note. Once he was finished, the man yawned and stood to take his leave. Before Bahir could step from his hiding spot to read the letter, however, the man returned and slid it into another drawer.

With no other option, Bahir waited on the man to leave. He was stuck in that office for a few more minutes as the man made sure that any revealing documents were put away. Once the man left the office, the Shadow decided to wait in his hiding spot. No need in getting caught. With a few minutes of no sounds of movement, Bahir emerged from the shadows and went over to the desk. He slid the drawer open carefully so he didn't shift the contents inside of it. The last letter was there on the top, unwrinkled and completely... well... mostly legible. His eyes scanned over the parchment quickly and he grinned. So this was an interest meeting? Hmph. He thought to himself as the letter reported the turnout of interested slavers, merchants, and officials. Bahir closed the drawer and left the building quietly. He had all that he needed.

Sly shuffled the papers on the desk awaiting Bahir’s arrival. He had received a message from the Fanalis about possible new developments on the Black Spiders and was eager to hear what his brethren had discovered. Bahir impressed him, he did not dally in fulfilling his requests, even though Sly knew the man must be busy with Lagi out of the country. He would need to remember to take Bahir out for a drink when this was all done.

Bahir's first priority was returning to his office once he reached the palace. He didn't stop to speak to any of his corps members or the royal guard placed throughout the large capitol. Once he entered his office, the fanalis shed his Shadow garments and returned to those that befit his rank of Second-in-Command of the Unity Corps. The clothes weren't as welcoming in his mind as his classic attire, but he donned them nonetheless. If for anything, to instill the pride of his the corps into those who were under him. Next, Bahir began writing a report. He gathered the intel from Shade and documented what he heard and read himself. It was time to present everything to the man who requested his services.

After he prepared everything to be presented to Sly, Bahir left his office in a hurry. He walked through the large palace until he found his way at the Fanalis Corps's wing. The assassin knocked a single time on the office door which he knew Sly to be behind. When the man would be granted entry, Bahir would enter and greet the other stealthy fanalis before presenting him with a folder holding the information that he gathered from following the slave trader.

Sly looked over the folder Bahir had handed him, scanning over the information and committing the details to his memory. So, it definitely seemed that the Black Spiders were trying to push and expand into Reim. It also appeared they were trying to worm their way into the blooming Council. They needed to nip this problem in the bud, and quickly.

“Great job, Bahir. Based off of this, I want you to check out the base they mention here, in this document. It looks like it could have information on which council members we should be extra cautious about…”

He slipped the mentioned paper over, showing Bahir what he was talking about. If they could get information on which Council members were vulnerable, it would make Roark and Cassandra’s jobs much easier.

“Keep in mind, the more we snoop around, the more likely they will begin to suspect something, so make sure you are careful. These types of people don’t react kindly when they feel their business is threatened.”
