Lagi

After firing that bow string, Lagi’s left hand would be free and still in some kind of form that directed over to the Slasher Rex (A). It was a free hand, and the fact that two fingers would be together in order to pull a bow string meant that it was a good position for snapping, and Lagi did exactly that.   “Vanish…” Lagi’s follow up was one last Snap shockwave, heading right in front of him. The Slasher Rex would not be able to clash with it, due to using a basic attack against an actual ability, voiding  its actions and possibly send the slasher rex (A) flying due to the power of the snap shockwave moving at 25 m/s.  It was a surefire kill,  Lagi was counting on it.

El Drago  made sure he used his speed to stay in range of the Azure dragon in order to defeat it, which brought El Drago  30 meters to the portside of the madam storm.  He quickly assessed the situation with his intelligence and wisdom of battle,  but had no desire to sacrifice any humans for the sake of defeating the enemy.  El drago would immediately fly back, heading towards the portside of  madame storm  in a second and attack with  its signature move, Drago Estique, while being 5 meters away from the portside.  El drago stayed out of the range of friendly fire but the first  1 meter cube would be fired   purely in range of Sra'Tsl B and  out of range of the magicians at 25 m/s, timed accordingly so the detonation at will  would cover the  Sra’Tsl (B). The desired result would be that the cube would of exploded in a 12.5 meter diameter and stunned the Sra’Tsl (B) as El drago would make a drive- by at 25 m/s and  end up  20 meters in the middle of madame storm in the 2nd second as he continued with his amazing speed to rush to Bahir’s aid with  the second drago estique 1 meter cube. The cube would have been fired once El drago reached an appropriate range with his speed and timely detonated at will so that the shock would  get the Sra’Tsl (A) in its blind spot and avoid clashing with the goop. It would be an even trade and force bahir to sit tight in the goop, but el drago would soon be heading over there to give the frog like creature a hell of a beating if successful.

Yellow, putrid smelling fluid oozed its way out of the wounds of Slimy that had been inflicted by Adrastos' previous spell. The stench was revolting as it tickled at the silver-haired man's gag reflex, but he kept his mask blank and shrugged away the smell as best as he could. Simultaneously, Slimy was struck by Noir's electric spell. Only the last two seemed to have done anything, which told the young magician that despite the damage the creature had taken, its skin was still rather tough.

Adrastos saw the Sra'Tsl take a step back, as if it were now hesitating or contemplating about retreating from the battle. Slimy seemed to have a consciousness, or at least a little bit of intelligence. For a moment, Adrastos was bewildered and wanted to know why Slimy suddenly behaved in the manner that it did. However, within the corresponding moment, the amphibian leaped forward, its repulsive, green claws glinting as it charged.

As soon as Adrastos saw the Sra'Tsl leap forward, he tried to protect Noir as much as possible while casting a 10m Nemesis Sol at the amphibian's location before it could get 2-3m closer. It was a close call as he felt the heat of the black sphere warm his pale skin. As a result of using Nemesis Sol with little energy left, Adrastos felt thick liquid run down his face from his eyes. It was as if he were crying, but when he touched his face and pulled away, the magician saw that the liquid was blood. His vision was tinted in crimson before it transitioned to almost utter darkness. Then, he fell to his knees, barely able to keep himself on his feet, even with the assistance of his staff, Lux Animae Mortem. His body was numb and was difficult to almost impossible to move, and his breathing, a wheezing gasp, was labored.

Above, Adrastos though he heard something large fly overhead and attack Slimy, but with blood in his eyes, there was no way to confirm it. "Did- Did I eliminate it? Is it gone?" he whispered inaudibly, barely able to form the syllables and words.

The amphibious creature acted weird; he was just having this frozen moment after her mentor hit it, but suddenly it leaped forward and aimed its attack at both of them. Neo quickly cast his Nemesis sol before it could get 2-3 meters closer to them, but it was a double edged sword to Neo as his eyes began to let out blood. Noir became worried about her mentor since it usually meant that the person suffered a great exhaustion, but she still had to guard him. Soon, the black haired girl saw El Drago firing a cube of Lightning Magic to the Sra'Tsl (B), fully paralyzing the creature, but she was not 100% sure. Noir quickly cast Lightning Whip and Fulmine Nero again at the Sra’Tsl (B) as a precaution and moved in front of her mentor to guard him, even though her eyes began to drip with crimson tears, and her body quivered with exhaustion. The blood that flowed down her eyes, and the darkness that crept inward and blocked her vision, made it difficult to see. Noir knew if she spammed more spells, she wouldn't be able to continue the fight.

Ari panted softly when the Slasher Rex finally fell to the ground. It had taken more effort than she had expected, but it had finally dropped. As she looked around to take stock of the rest of the team on shore. To her left, Lagi and the evasive coward seemed to be holding their own. Behind her, Madame Trixie and her pirates were holding off an attack of crabs while the camp was set up. To her right, Ayero and Merrze were battling three rather fearsome looking creatures, though it seemed they were making progress. Hoping Lagi would be able to handle the other Slasher Rex creatures, Ari moved to assist her bosom buddy and the girl she had healed after a battle. Ari moved until she was within about 35 meters of the Slammers, taking a deep breath as she cast a 5 meter Slime at Hulking Slammer (A), avoiding the Toxic Cloud as she hoped the girls would be able to defend themselves. Killing it before it killed everyone was more important that wasting damage to block the attack when she knew the two warriors were more than capable of protecting themselves. Their Fanalis speed alone would be of great aid to them, or so she hoped. She had not been able to keep track of the battle while she had been dealing with her own enemies.

Pulling her carpet free, she fed a small amount of magoi into it, flying until she was within 25 meters of the creatures and drew out her throwing daggers, throwing two daggers at Hulking Slammer (B), hoping the knives would find their mark as the creatures targeted the two Fanalis women on the ground. It was not much, but she was helping as much as she could without risking hitting the female warriors.

Planning on dealing a vicious blow to the beast (A), Ayero began to gather magoi into her arm and extend it around her blade. As she was preparing to strike, the Hulking Slammer (B) slammed into her side. Knowing the size of the beast, Ayero fully expected to be thrown a great distance from the force of the massive creature smashing into her smaller body. But the impact felt far less severe than she had anticipated, and a hiss coming from her midsection alerted her as to why. Ayero’s faithful snake companion, Kabu, had twined himself around her trunk and hardened his skin (Snakeskin) in order to deflect the beast’s devastating attack. Silently thanking Kabu for having her back and defending her from what she was not quick enough to avoid, Ayero spun on her heel and delivered a Cross Slash to the Hulking Slammer’s (B) body.

An odd choking sound drew her attention to the Hulking Slammer (A), and she turned in time to see the beast release a cloud of mist from its mouth. Ayero’s upper lip curled in immediate disgust, displeased that these creatures had abilities beyond the obvious. She did not know what the cloud could do, but she was not eager to find out. As the poisonous haze left the creature’s mouth, a glob of slime shot towards the Hulking Slammer (A). More help? Or a wayward beast coming to assist its friends? There wasn’t much time for Ayero to figure out whether friend or foe had released that slime as the Toxic Cloud was closing in quickly. Swinging her arms in a windmill motion, Ayero was able to Veer the cloud off course, away from her and Merrze.

A flash of tan skin and familiar deep purple hair caught her eye in the sky above as the toxic mist was safely dispersed away from the two Fanalis. Glancing upwards, an appreciative smile curves along her lips at seeing Ari both unharmed and assisting in their fight now that her own was over. The fatigue was beginning to set into the Fanalis woman from exerting so much energy and she felt her muscles begin to burn and ache. Snapping her focus back to the battle, Ayero prepared herself in case the fight was not yet over.

Merrze was glad that her comrade Ayero had veered the gas cloud that seemed to be heading their way, she now only had to worry about her own Hulking Slammer, at least for this moment. She didn't know if the other one would be taken out by the attacks that headed at it. She was happy to see the familiar mage who had healed her long ago and taught her how to use her magic amulet. She was happy someone had come to their relief since she was starting to get a bit tired during the fight but she still had a small amount to finish the fight left.

As the slammer rushed in her direction she put her arms up and used Guardian Block to take the blunt of the attack. After she had taken the attack the fanalis would prepare her counter attack against the creature. She would attempt to slash it three times then she would kick it to make sure that it was killed. She was trying to play it safe, after all this monstrous creature had caused her quite the amount of trouble and just wanted it to drop dead. She had little energy left but she had to keep her guard up so that if any other creatures attacked she would be prepared.

Bahir was a little shocked to see that his plan came together. As he slid to a stop, he noticed the Azure dragon let out a pained howl. El Drago must have finished his work with that creature... I wonder if he'll come this way... God I hope he comes this way. He thought as he returned to his feet. His moment of relief would barely even begin before the toad creature was back onto its feet as well. SHIT! The fanalis grabbed four of his spikes and held them in his right hand. Time it right, counter. He needed to stick to the basics.

Unfortunately, the creature had a lot more energy left than the fanalis. It shot out another sticky ooze. The sight made Bahir's heart jump and his fight or flight instincts took over. He tried to leap out of the way of the attack, but he, surprisingly, wasn't fast enough. The massive glob of ooze hit the man hard and knocked him back another meter or so then immobilizing his left arm and two legs.. Before he knew it, Bahir was stuck to some wall of the ship. He was lucky enough that his right arm was still free however. The sound of the Sra'Tsul's feet against the icy deck was accompanied by the sound of El Drago's wings cutting through the air. I've got one shot... Don't let me die, El Drago! The assassin clenched his jaw and launched his sickly sting towards the creature as it was charging towards him, hoping to slow it down just enough so that El Drago would be able to assist in delivering the killing blow on the toad.

The Hulking Slammer(B)'s attack did not seem to affect Ayero as much as it would expect and the reason soon became clear with a hiss. A black snake, wrapped around the Fanalis woman's body, had taken the brunt of the attack. The Hulking Slammer stamped its foot and snapped its head back to swing it into the Fanalis woman, however a flash of silver caught his eye. Ayero brought her sword down in an arc with enough force to rent open the beast's side, crushing several bones in the process. The Hulking Slammer wavered on its feet and let out a roar of pain.

Meanwhile, Ayero had turned around to notice Hulking Slammer(A) begin to spew a toxic cloud. With a quick flourish of her arms she created a current of air to push the cloud away from her, saving herself and her ally from being poisoned. The Hulking Slammer was irritated by the Fanalis' craftiness, but before it could react, a slime-construct attacked from its blind spot. The damage was enough to bring the Hulking Slammer(A) down to its knees, where it would slowly bleed out as it lost the will to fight. The Hulking Slammer(B) would shortly find its tough hide pierced by two sharp objects, compounding the damage it had sustained already, which took the beast out of the fight.

The third of their group had charged towards Merrze, but she raised her hands and defended against the force of the Hulking Slammer(C)'s impact. The forward momentum of the beast threw it off balance, giving the Fanalis warrior time to attack the Slammer with a flurry of strikes from her sword. Each swipe of the sword removed chunks out of the beast's tough hide. With a kick, she sent the bleeding corpse rolling away from her.

The three Hulking Slammers were now dead, thanks in part to the purple-haired magician who had chosen to help them. Now the three of them could catch their breath to observe the battles going on along the shore and across the campside where Lagi and Zadi fought. The battle on the shore was dying down, with Madam Trixie slaughtering the creatures she fought with her twin blades and Vincent manipulating his body into weird shapes to attack his creatures.

As the Slasher Rex(A) unleashed a kick toward Lagi, the Emperor reacted quickly, snapping his fingers. The shockwave of sound that erupted as a result of that simple action pummeled the reptilian creature. The Slasher Rex let out a final roar of unimaginable pain, the sound dulled behind the shockwave of sound, as blood burst forth from its muzzle from its organs rupturing inside. The ground shook as the creature fell to the ground, already dead.

While Lagi had been successful in defeating his beast, Zadi was not so lucky. As the Slasher Rex(B) let out a wave of intense heat, the magician was unable to react in time. Zadi would soon be consumed in the flames and incinerated to a charred husk. With his target dead, the Slasher Rex(B) was free to turn his attention to the next closest person, Lagi. The reptilian creature noticed its ally to one side, dead, and snarled at Lagi in rage. It charged towards the Emperor and attempted to crush the Emperor with its heel.

On the Ships

As the Sra'Tsl(B) leaped forward to attack the two magicians, it found itself consumed in a sphere, void of light. It let out a high-pitched squeal as its dry and cracked skin felt like it was on fire, the heat of the spell melting it into a pile of slime. With the creature defeated, El Drago and Noir would not have to use anymore spells if they chose. If they were frustrated with how tough the beasts were, they could certainly overkill the beast.

Meanwhile, on Grimwald's ship, Bahir found himself caught in sticky ooze. While most of his body was immobilized, the Fanalis assassin still had an arm free to send four throwing spikes at the amphibious creature. Two of the spikes bounced harmlessly off the Sra'Tsl(A)'s skin, however they softened up the skin enough for the others to strike true. The poison began to go to work immediately, seeping into the creature's bloodstream. Before the creature could react, a jolt of electricity coursed through its body, paralyzing it in place.

Unable to move, the Sra'Tsl(A) sent out its tongue at Bahir who was six feet away to lash at the Fanalis. If the beast was unable to move, it was the only option left for the Sra'Tsl.

El drago continued to move at a Heightened speed, flying as fast as he possibly could in order to  kill the beast at 25 m/s. It would have brought him to sustained his drago estique and fired off two more lightning cubes simultaneously  at the Sra'Tsl A in order to clash with its tongue  lash attack and   provide enough of a troublesome encounter for it to not reach bahir in time. El drago never stopped maintaining his speed, so he would have been a good distance upon firing and timing the detonation at will in order to achieve this.
With hopes that a clash has been made, El drago   gave the frog like creature an A tier finger flick  to the head in order to give the being a finishing blow after arriving at 25 m/s

The creature was coming, but lagi wasn’t going to give up without a fight. “If  die here, I die on my terms!” Lagi would say as he raised his bow once more and fired off a basic shot at the  leg of the slasher rex as he moved back to distance himself.  Lagi was really feeling it now, blood filled his eyes after firing that shot. It  never happened before, and he hated the feeling.

The yellow magician quickly grabbed Neo's hand and wanted to help him to stand up as she believe she had to repay her mentor's kindness for protecting her.

Noir noticed that the fanalis man was also attacked and for making it worst, he was alone. Noir left Neo and quickly went after the fanalis man so she could assist him, but when Noir wanted to cross to the Ceres' Roar, El Drago came and attack the creature. With that attack, Noir assumed the creature would be death, but she would just stay still to stand by in case the creature still had not death. They were really far for being safe right now.

As the creatures tumbled, a small smile tugged at Ari’s lips until she turned to check on Lagi and his partner, eyes widening when she saw a pile of burnt flesh where the young female magician had been standing. Ari cursed under her breath, bringing the carpet around and down as she shouted to Ayero and Merrze.

“Hop on!”

Ari would give both of them the opportunity to hop aboard the carpet, giving them cursory looks as she flew over to Lagi, trying to asses any damages they may have taken. It did not take long at all to reach Lagi’s side and Ari wasted no time, keeping the carpet low to the ground in case the two Fanalis female warriors wanted to jump off. She murmured to the rukh, casting the innate spell of her staff once more, a five meter slime forming just behind the creature and bouncing forward to strike it’s back end. Her hands reached for two more throwing daggers, taking care to avoid her allies if they moved in to strike the creature as she threw them forward. She panted heavily, struggling with how much effort she had exerted to try and keep the shore secure.

Bahir groaned as two of his spikes bounced off of the Sra'Tsul. Luckily, the softened skin allowed for his next two to hit his mark. The creature showed the symptoms almost immediately. So the poison is really effective on them? Were his last bit of coherent thoughts until he saw the creature get hit by a cube of electricity. Drago? A slight grin appeared on Bahir's face. He felt relief. Just as he was about to truly relax however, he saw the creature's mouth open and a tongue begin to lash out. Bahir's eyes widened and his vision was taken by a blinding white light.

The fanalis was seeing flashes of his life. Things that he thought he would never see before. The strangest part was, he was viewing them from an outside standpoint. It was a marathon of his life in a mini-series that lasted only a few nanoseconds. One vision that truly disturbed the young man, however, was that of his father. It was his most important job with the man. The one where he lost his dad. He watched as the Reimian soldiers caught up to them and as his father grabbed his son by the shoulders and gave him a pep talk. Bahir didn't note as much emotion on the man's face as he thought there were before, and as he was falling from the cliff, Bahir could notice a grin on his father's face. W-why... The fanalis felt his body go limp. There was no reason for him to care anymore. If the vision he saw was true... his father intended on the boy's death? No. That couldn't be...

Before he knew it, the fanalis's fatigue caught up to him and he lost all consciousness. Leaving him to the mercy of the tongue attack heading towards him. Little did he know, that El Drago wasn't giving up on his rescue of the young fanalis. Not yet.

"Yes, it's gone. You did it, Neo," Adrastos heard his pupil respond, her voice somehow clearer than ever before. Was it the result of him losing his sight temporarily because of the crimson tears that blanketed his eyes and slid down his pale cheeks? He felt Noir's hand take hold of his as she guided him to his feet, but as quickly as it had appeared, it was gone, and all the blue magician could feel was the cool breeze that carried from the sea. It was a familiar absence, one that brought to mind the memory of when someone close last held him long ago. However, the thought was quickly cast aside.

What was going on? Was the Fanalis on the other ship in trouble? Had he not defeated his enemy? What of the others on land? How were they coping? Adrastos clenched his teeth together. Despite surviving so far, he still felt useless. He clenched his staff with so much force that wood splinters dug into his hand. He felt weak and soft still. Adrastos shook his head. You've done your part so far. Let the others do theirs. Since when did you care about others well-fare? If they lost, they lost and they were probably too weak to handle the mission or perhaps made a foolish mistake. Keep that in mind, Adrastos, so that you don't do such things.

Nodding to the airbone magician, Ayero hefted herself onto the carpet with a grunt, limbs shaking slightly from exhaustion.

On The Ships

Shockingly, the amphibious creature's tongue never made it to Bahir. El Drago's spell collided into the stretchy appendage which sent a jolt of electricity that dissuaded the beast from attacking the Fanalis again. The Sra'Tsl was unable to do much of anything in response as a massive dragon flicked his finger towards the creature's head. There was a grotesque squishing sound as the finger made contact and sent the Sra'Tsl flying off the ship, into the distance.

Now that all the enemies were defeated, the treasure hunters would be able to relax for a moment and focus on their surroundings. The first thing that would be apparent was that Bahir would need to be pulled free from his slimy prison. It was evident that the Fanalis assassin had exhausted himself during his fight by his current unconscious state. The second observation that could be made was that the Ceres' Roar was sitting much lower in the water when compared to the Madam's Storm. It certainly hadn't been like that before...

Before the fighting had begun, Captain Grimwald and Jarod had been having a friendly chat with Vladmir down in the cargo hold. The Pirate Queen had taken Abel's concern of the two darkly-robed men to heart and had them split up while camp was struck, after relaying Abel’s fear to Grimwald. If they had expected a reaction, they hadn't expected Vladmir's patient smile and easy acceptance. The man parted from his silent companion without so much as a word, not even sparing a look as Vincent sailed with Trixie and Abel to shore.

Vladmir flashed Grimwald an innocent look, "I'm not sure how you obtained these notions that my companion and I have some wicked scheme, but I swear to you that we are here for the same reasons as the others. Adventure. Treasure. The rush of battle fighting unknown enemies. What is so wicked about that?"

Grimwald ground his teeth and narrowed his eyes at Vladmir's explanation. The robed-man grated on his nerves and he knew that Vladmir was getting a kick out of it. Grimwald started to take a step forward when shouts rang up from above. He turned to Jarod, "Watch him. I'll be right back."

Hurrying to get above decks, Grimwald narrowly avoided being trampled as a herd of deckhands rushed down the stairs. "What's all this about?" He shouted to one of his crew who mumbled something about a dragon. A flicker of worry showed in the Captain's features and he began to take the stairs two at a time when he heard a loud crunching sound.

Turning towards the source of the noise, Grimwald watched as something chewed its way through the hull of the ship. After making a hole about six inches wide, a tiny creature fell into the ship with a trickle of water. The hole was close enough to the water's edge on the outside of the ship that water began to pour in with the lapping of the waves. The tiny creature righted itself on four spiny legs and snapped its jaws at the nearest pirate.

The Shrouded Isle [Event|Kill Viable] - Page 4 5ykUhJh

Grimwald leaped forward and unsheathed his sword in one quick motion before impaling the creature. "Find something to plug up tha-" He was cut off as a few more insects poured in through the hole. There were also more scraping sounds around the hold as more of the creatures tried to eat their way into the ship.

As the nimble insects poured in, Grimwald went to work chopping them down. While a few deckhands ran to find something to stop the water and creatures from getting in, the rest helped their Captain fight back the beasts. While the beasts were easy to kill, they had a vicious bite and their saliva seemed to contain a venom. Quite a few deckhands were rendered in a comatose state after being bitten.

After several minutes of hectic fighting, it seemed that the creatures had stopped their attempts at breaching the hull and the ship had taken a lot of water. To make sure that they had removed everyone of the skittering bastards, Grimwald ordered a search through all the rooms. Whoever wasn't involved in the search began to dump barrels of food out to fill up with water and take above decks to dump out.

In one of the rooms, Grimwald found several beasts gnawing on a comatose Imuchakk magician. The beasts had managed to burrow holes all over the ship. It seemed that Spiritos had retreated to his room and been attacked in his sleep. With a snarl, Grimwald made quick work of the insect-like beasts attacking Spiritos and left the man to his nap. After grumbling to himself about lazy cowards, Grimwald noticed that the water-level was rising up to his knees. They need to act fast before they lost the ship.

The pirates had formed a chain of men up the stairs and passed the barrels up to the deck where someone dumped the water out and then sent it back down to be filled up again. Grimwald wiggled his way up the stairs and noticed a pool of water as the ice began to melt from the dragon's breath. Spotting El Drago nearby, Grimwald had an idea. "Hey! I need you to do something. Can you grab hold of the masts and lift the ship out of the water? We're taking on water!"

Hoping El Drago was smart enough to understand the order, his eyes flicked to the Madam's Storm and finally realized how low the ship had sunk. "I need something sticky to plug up the holes! Dammit! That old man wasn't kidding about the island!"

If El Drago listened to the Pirate Captain, he would shout out, "BRACE YOURSELVES!"

The Slasher Rex had been crippled by an arrow spawned from a holy magical tool that Lagi wielded, so some may argue that Ariella's slime-construct or her throwing knives defeated it. Others may argue that the kiss of steel along the creature's vertebrae from Ayero's blade spelled the Slasher's doom. Of course, none should forget the sickening crack when Merrze's blade met the beast's skull.

Whoever struck the final, fatal blow was of little consequence, the end result was the same. The Slasher Rex would collapse to the ground and the treasure hunters would get a moment of peace. Only a moment, however, as the earth began to shake underneath them. Dirt formed together into the shape of a hand which quickly wrapped itself around Zadi's body. As quick as the hand appeared, it vanished, carrying the magician with it.

The Shrouded Isle [Event|Kill Viable] - Page 4 7xwsoza

The bloody crabs were everywhere and it was all that the Pirate Queen, Abel, and the silent Vincent could do to hold them back. While Trixe's crew finished setting up the camp, the trio fought back the crustaceans. There were a few casualties from the initial onslaught, the crabs had caught them by surprise. However, there could have been more if it wasn't for Vincent's quick reactions. The robed-man contorted and stretched his body into weird shapes to defend the crew, slaughtering some of the crabs with pincers of his own.

By the time the adventurers had finished their battles, Trixie had cut down the last of the crab creatures. She let out a breath of relief, wiping the sweat from her brow, and turned to see that the camp was finally finished. "Abel, check everyone to make sure-"

Her question was interrupted as a tremor shook the ground around them. She spun around when she heard something splash out of the water, By Ceres' bloody tit, what now?! The thought froze in her mind as she saw several large tentacles protruding twenty meters out of the water, flailing around blindly. Suddenly, the tentacles shot towards the camp, aimed for the dead among the pirates. With the corpses secured, the tentacles pulled back into the water and vanished without a trace.

Madam Trixie looked wide-eyed from the sight she had just seen to Abel, "What the hell was that?! This island won't even let us bury our dead?!" She shook her head while placing her fingers against the bridge of her nose. "Abel, take some men and transport the rest of the adventurers over."

When Ariella, Lagi, Ayero, and Merrze reached camp, the Pirate Queen would approach them. She wouldn't fail to notice the exhaustion evident on their faces or that the group was short one person. "Thank you for holding the beasts back. I'm sure it was a difficult task." The expression on her face reflected her sincerity and understanding of their sacrifice.

With a sigh, she gave them an apologetic look, "If you aren't too exhausted, would you mind helping me before you rest? The old man suggested setting up a ring of fire pits twenty meters from the edges of camp to keep the beasts away for the night. If you help my men, it will get done much quicker and we can all feel safe."

One of her crew gave a harsh laugh, clearly shaken by the death of his fellow comrades. "How can we expect that to help?"

The Pirate Queen turned to the man and gave him a tired look. "I don't know, but we can ask him when he gets here with the others." She glanced back at the treasure-hunters and excused herself with a slight nod. If they chose to help build the firepits was up to them, for now she had to stay vigilant in case more creatures attacked. The treasure-hunters didn't look like they had much fight left in them.

El Drago used his a rank strength to apply enough pressure to pull Bahir out of the goop, bt was careful enough to not hurt him. “ Wake up Bahir. If you are still alive, hold on to something. Heck go stick yourself back on the wall if you want. I’m going to lift the ship!” El drago’s loud and wise voice should be enough to wake up Bahir as he gently let Bahir down and went to work like captain grim said. El drago grabbed hold of the masts with his A rank strength and lifted the ship up to prevent more water from coming in, while tilting it so the water drains out the holes. This took a lot of focus and concentration, his A rank strength could very well break the ship.

Lagi was exhausted, but he did notice that the burnt body of the magician was gone. She looked so much like Zadi. “Did I just watch his sister die?” Lagi was in pain, physically and emotionally, he wasn’t able to help her and she was killed. Maybe it was Venus’s fault for being on the island, but Lagi was strong. “he looked over to the other girls with an apologetic look and bloody eyes. “I couldn’t save her, I’m sorry……” There was not much to be said, he had to head back to the camp to see what madam Trixie wanted. When she mentioned the fires, Lagi went into his bag and weakly pulled out some herbs. “These special herbs are top quality for dominance beast users and the like, the scent that it gives off wards animals. If this can help in any way , its yours.
Lagi would then go off to start the fires, using the herbs as well.

Soon after El Drago beat the Sra’Tsl (A), Noir quickly headed to see Bahir’s condition and approached the Fanalis man who turned out was unconscious. The black haired girl tried to pull the man from the goop but it wouldn’t budge at all, she spotted one of the pirates nearby and quickly asked for his sword then quickly went back to continue removing the slime around Bahir. Since Noir couldn’t even pull the Fanalis Man away even though she used all of her remaining strength, El Drago applied enough pressure to pull Bahir out and he did it while talking to the man to wake him up.

Suddenly, Captain Grimwald’s voice could be heard, he demanded the dragon to lift the ship as it began to sink. His voice was appeared again, "I need something sticky to plug up the holes! Dammit! That old man wasn't kidding about the island!" Noir just noticed many holes on the ship aby now and wondered why she didn’t notice it earlier, but thanks to El Drago’s strength, the ship was easily lifted and the pirates could take out the water from the ship easily. She looked at the slime in front of her and assumed it would be sticky enough to close the hole, so she quickly brought the slime and seal the holes with that.

Noir began to search for any other holes around the ship, but slipped her feet and fell down. The girl saw at what made her fall and she saw a puddle, but not an ordinary water puddle, it was a remaining of a little strange creature. Noir grunted as her cloth was now ruined by the filth of the creature and wanting to change her cloth as soon as possible just in case it contained a poisonous liquid. Need to patch the holes first… Noir decided mentally and headed again to find every holes in the ship and patched it with the slime, making sure all the holes was sealed.

Ari breathed a sigh of relief when the creature finally dropped to the ground under their combined efforts. She could see that Lagi and Ayero were both in a nearly dire state of exhaustion, though Lagi crawled back to the camp himself after apologizing for not being able to protect the female magician. She gave him a gentle smile and shook her head.

“It’s not your fault, Lagi. We all knew this was a dangerous job. I don’t have the means to resurrect people and now with the body being taken, I don’t even know if it would be possible.”

She was shaken by the hand that had claimed the body, something about this island was just not right. The powers festering here were far beyond anything she had been exposed to before, and she had grown up in the magical capitol of the world. She lowered her carpet to allow Ayero and Merrze to load up, if they wanted to, turning to the smaller Fanalis girl.

“Let’s go get Fluffy, then head to camp.”

She would carefully fly the carpet back to where Fluffy was paralyzed, helping in any way she could to load the poor creature onto the carpet. She would then fly back to camp and let everyone unload before looking around, frowning in concern at Ayero. She had seen the woman’s snake take quite a hit and worried over the father of Nilexa’s children.

“How are you and Kabu doing, Aye?”

She would listen to whatever her friend had to say before looking around the camp, unnerved by the damage that had been dealt to the pirates and her fellow adventurers. When Trixie talked about fires and Lagi mentioned the herbs, she frowned in thought for a moment. She crouched in front of Lagi, checking him over for injuries before realizing his biggest problem was simply being drained, which she could do nothing about. Ruffling his hair with a grim smile, she spoke.

“It is a good idea, but let’s wait to see what the old man has to say first. Let’s not waste valuable herbs if they aren’t necessary.”

Ari would then make her way around the camp to help set up the fires, keeping a sharp eye out in case of another attack. Right now, she knew Lagi and Ayero at the very least needed to rest and regain their energy. They could all use a good meal and some rest, but it would not do to let their guard down.

Ayero only had a moment of relief after feeling her blade cut into the Slasher Rex’s thick skin, the creature crumbling from the weight of the combined attacks. She grunted as she pulled her blade out from the beast’s back, twisting her head to take count of her allies. Thankfully it appeared that Ari, Merrze and Lagi were still standing albeit tired. The ground began to rumble and groan beneath her, causing the woman to jump back in surprise. A hand emerged forth from the earth and snatched up the charred body of the female magician that had been fighting alongside Zadi before disappearing below ground one more.

What…the hell…. Ayero stared wide-eyed at the spot where the hand had vanished for a few long moments before Lagi’s voice pulled her out of her trance. She remained silent as Lagi lamented the loss of the magician and Ariella put what she was thinking into words.

The adrenaline began to wear off as Ayero climbed back onto the carpet, albeit far less swiftly than before. Ari’s question caught her off guard but the Fanalis grunted in response. ”Fine. Glad we’re alive. You alright?” Her fingers reflexively brush across Kabu’s scales, a seed of dread sitting low in her belly. The warnings had been true, this island was truly dangerous.

Once making it back to camp, Ayero nearly groaned as Madam Trixie asked them to aid in building the fire pits. Her muscles were sore and she wanted nothing more than to curl up and sleep, but the light and heat of the flames would hopefully keep them safe for the night. Deep down, Ayero almost laughed along with the pirate who seemed skeptical. What good would simple fire do on this hell hole? As she dragged herself towards where the men were working, Ayero passed by Lagi and clasped a tired hand on his shoulder. ”’M glad you’re alive.” She continued walking towards the outer perimeter of the camp shortly after the words slipped from her mouth, wanting to complete the task as quickly as possible.

Adrastos Thanatos

Adrastos Thanatos

All around Adrastos, there was still chaos. He could tell by the sound of the few crew members that remained on the ship as the scuffled across the deck. The most coherent voice, however, was that of Captain Grimwald who sounded a like he was on the Ceres' Roar. He barked out orders to those who were able to assist, but unfortunately, the young magician was not one of those people. He slumped backward onto a barrel, or at least what he thought was a barrel and sighed heavily.

Noir's footsteps became muted as she ran aboard the other ship before they were lost within the other frantic thuds of boots across the wooden deck. There was also a groan, followed by Captain Grimwald's loud voice yelling, "BRACE YOURSELVES!" Being of no use, Adrastos close his bleeding eyes and rested his head against the object behind him. He felt exhausted and weak. He wondered if he'd have the strength to move or if he'd be left for dead, but quickly shut himself up. There was no way he'd give up so easily after coming this far. No, he'd see this through to the end, and hopefully, long after this hell had passed.

Adrastos slipped into a light meditative state to calm his nerves and distract his thoughts. With luck, time would become a blur and they'd reunite with the others, or at least whoever was left.

The redhead gave a slight chuckle of relief now glad that the fighting was over. She was exhausted, she had never had to fight something so strong so the entire situation provided quite the challenge for her. She wiped her brow and looked up into the sky, she was saddened by the fallen comrade but this wasn't a place for the weak afterall. They had only got on the island and they already fought such monstrosities, what else was on this so called island? It was more like a slaughterhouse for the weak and unprepared. She had been cautious before but she was not going to risk letting her guard down at this point.

She was glad that Ari had agreed to help get Fluffy since he was currently immobilized. She loaded him on the carpet and petted him on the back as if to say that everything was going to be okay. He groaned a little but considered to lick Merrze to show his appreciation. He stretched his tongue to Ari and licked her to show appreciation also.

"Thanks for the help, I could've carried him but this was actually a big help so thanks, this way he can be a little comfortable and I'm not straining myself"

When the arrived back at the camp the redhead was tired and didn't want to work but she didn't show it so as not to seem lazy. She didn't want to do the work but she would do it anyways so that she could help out. She grabbed the stuff and headed to to go put up campfires, hopefully it wouldn't take long but she would do as much work as possible before she would stop.

Nothingness. That's all the fanalis could see, feel, and hear. It was a feeling that he didn't enjoy. It felt as though he was completely out of control of anything and everything. His body wouldn't respond, he couldn't smell anything or hear anything. It was a terrifying feeling. Not something he enjoyed at all. Eventually, there was something that seemed to have ripped through his feeling of nothingness. It was a large force being stopped quickly. It caused the young man's body to rock forward slightly. Then a tight grip around his entire body. What the fuck was going on?!

The last awakening factor was an incredibly loud, booming voice. "WAKE UP BAHIR!" The fanalis's eyes snapped open and instantly drew his Shadow's Fang. He looked around, panting. Nothing... the toad creature was gone. The ice had melted... what happened? Putting his dagger away, Bahir stood and sighed, wobbling a bit. He then heard Grimwald's voice and noticed that El Drago was grabbing onto the masts of the ship. ...Oh fuck. He gripped the rails of the ship, making sure he didn't fall as the ship was lifted and tilted somewhat.

On The Ships

With El Drago's assistance the ship was quickly drained of water, allowing Noir to hurry along and plug up the holes with the sticky ooze from the Sra'Tsl. Captain Grimwald gave them both an appreciative grunt, losing his ship would have made getting off the island troublesome. As the ship was gently eased back into the sea, one of the deck hands shouted out. Captain Grimwald walked to the bow of the ship and saw Abel with a few crew members on a boat to pick up the rest of the treasure-hunters. "Alright, we'll handle watching the ships from here. Abel will take you grumps to camp so you can rest and recover your stamina."

Vladmir hobbled up onto the deck of the ship with a sly grin on his face. The pirates had accomplished nothing by separating the two Alchemists, in fact it appeared that Grimwald had saved him from having to fight. He noticed Adrastos on the other ship in a wretched state. The silver-haired magician was bleeding from the eyes, a tell-tale sign of magoi-exhaustion. With an outstretched hand, Vladmir offered to help Adrastos onto his feet and would support him onto the boat.

Before the boats disembarked for the shore, Artemis was helped onto the boat to accompany them. The elder man's expression was a mix of fear and displeasure. He had never in his life expected to return to this terrible island. That his experience may save the unfortunate treasure-hunters who had been dragged along was a small pittance. Accompanied with the elder man was the remainder of the archaeologists from the Reim Historical Society. Tyrus' face was pale, sharing Artemis' terror after having seen the terrible flying creatures make off with his friends.

Base Camp

The firepits were quickly built around the perimeter of the camp, with everyone devoted to the task with a sense of urgency. Thankfully, it appeared the island was giving them a respite from further attacks for now. Ayero, Ariella, Merrze, and Lagi were ushered to sit by some smaller campfires where they were provided food and drink while they waited for the others to join them. Once the others did, they would also be given food, drink and a warm spot to rest their bones. The mood around the camp was somber, none of the pirates feeling very festive after watching some of their allies fall.

If any magicians were to look away from the jungle and towards the sea, they would get a better view of the stream of Rukh beneath the water. From the angle at the beach, they would notice a stream the curved underneath the fog, which was met by another stream that met the curve at a point, like the edge of a square against a circle.

As night fell over the Shrouded Isle, its inhabitants could be heard stirring in the forest. Off in the distance, a howl lifted into the air, encouraging a symphony of sound to erupt from the shadows. Trixie's men looked up, narrowing their eyes to see beyond the flames into the darkness, their faces a mask of stone to hide the rising tide of dread in their chest. They kept a tight grip on their fear, lest it run away with them.

Trixie looked around the camp with a grim face, gazing at each of the treasure-hunters to gauge their wounds and determine their state of mind. She tore a chunk off a sliver of jerky she held and stood up. "With your help, we survived the island thus far. I want to thank you for putting yourselves in harm's way to protect my crew, for the sacrifices you've made. Tomorrow, you'll be traveling deeper into the island, so you'll definitely want to get your rest. First, we should discuss our plans."

She gestured to Jarod who produced an old, crudely drawn map of the island that was frayed and crumbling at the edges. She took the map and moved closer to the treasure-hunters so they could gather around and look at it. On the eastern edge of the map, a red X covered symbols that indicated a rocky terrain. Trixie gestured to Artemis, "You mentioned that ancient ruins were hidden on the island. Where would we find them?"

Artemis gave her a sour look and slowly pushed himself up, bones creaking as he got to his feet. He shuffled over to the map and studied it a moment before pointing near the center of the island. "That is where you will find them."

At the mention of ruins Tyrus walked over and checked out the map for himself. Unlike before on the ship when he was giddy with excitement, his posture and attitude was serious. This adventure was no longer a fun expedition, but a dangerous job that required him to keep his cool. "This is where my team will be going, then. The treasure is just a bonus, our goal is to learn what we can about the ruins. Can you recall anything specific about them?" He looked towards the elder man with his lips pressed tightly together.

Artemis shook his head, "We never managed to get inside. By the time we had got close enough to see it, there was only a handful of us left in my group. When our master died, everyone booked it, treasure be damned. I do remember feeling a powerful...energy radiating from there. Scared the shit out of me, it did."

Tyrus stared at Artemis for a few moments before nodding his head, "Sounds like we'll need some of you folks to watch our backs. I know some crumbling ruins might not sound as fascinating as treasure, but you never know what you could learn." With a sigh, he excused himself to speak with his team and prepare for the morning.

The pirate queen fiddled stroked the hilt of one of her blades as she considered Artemis' words. She bobbed her head as Tyrus walked away, "Then we'll need two teams. Since there's only seven of you remaining, it looks like one group will have to deal with having three members. Since Artemis makes it sound like the ruins will be dangerous, the four-man team should go there to protect the archaeologists while the rest go to collect the treasure.

If you have a preference for whether you'd want to go get the treasure or collect the ruins, volunteer now. Each of you have fought together now enough to know who you would work best. If I can give you some advise, I would make sure to divide yourselves so both teams stand a chance of surviving."
Trixie gestured to Ariella, Ayero, and Lagi. "I don't know about the rest, but from what i saw of your fight, you three seem to be the strongest ones here. I caught glances of your battles while I was fighting."

Abel arched a brow at the Pirate Queen with a mischievous grin, "Oh? Is that why I was picking up your slack? You were fawning after the pretty ladies?"

Trixie snorted and punched Abel in the shoulder, "With you flailing with your sword like a floundering fish? I think not, I'm pretty sure I was picking up your slack. And I still had time to check out the pretty ladies." The Pirate Queen winked at Ayero and Ariella before getting serious again. "So, I think at least two of you three should go to the ruins. I'll leave it to you guys to decide and if you are still unsure in the morning, I'll pick your teams for you."

With that she stood up and rolled up the map before stretching out her limbs, "You guys figure it out, but don't stay up too late. We'll hold the camp and the ships until you come back so we can leave this godforsaken place as quick as possible. Good night." She raised a mug of ale into the air, waiting a moment to see if anyone joined her in a final drink, before downing it in one long gulp. With that she headed to the perimeter to keep an eye on the camp, making sure no one got attacked while they slept.

Deeper in the camp, Vladmir and Vincent whispered to themselves, sending furtive glances towards Artemis and Adrastos. They had found what they had come for, the location of the ruins. Now that they had it, they had no use for the pirates or other treasure-seekers. Vladmir spared one last glance towards Adrastos before the two men dissolved into the darkness.

OOC: No posting order. Please reply in 48 hours. The next post from Solomon's Proxy will signal the morning and the start of the next part of the event. As Trixie stated, you are given the option to choose your teams, however it is not necessary if you'd rather SP choose for you. Note: All magoi, health, and cooldowns are now refreshed. Adrastos  remained in his meditative state until he felt a presence come closer and reach out a hand. The blue magician reached out to grab the hand that was outstretched  and took it firmly. It wasn't Noir's hand, but someone else's, one he did not expect to feel, but was grateful nonetheless to it. The hand belonged to Vladmir, who then assisted him in getting to the boat that would transport them to the camp. Adrastos uttered a small thank you before remaining silent.

Once at camp, they were allowed a small break to rest, recover, and discuss the plans for proceeding with the mission. There were no bodies from what Adrastos could see, but their numbers had decreased by quite a bit. The blonde magician from earlier was nowhere to be found. Was she one of the dead? What even happened to the dead? Adrastos looked over the grim expressions of the pirates and fellow treasure seekers. Everyone had been through a lot. Hopefully their fear and grief would not hinder any of them from performing at their best.

The meeting commenced without hesitation. There was talk about needing to be prepared to the next day, ancient ruins, treasure, and even the strongest ones in the group, but only the ruins stood at the forefront of the blue magician's mind. Powerful energy..? What sort of powerful energy? There was knowledge there. Powerful knowledge. Important knowledge. Adrastos hungered to know what made these ruins so important and terrifying that would make the people asa scared as they were. Out of the corner of his vision, movement caught Adrastos' attention, however, when he turned, there was nothing there, no monster or person. His silver eyes looked around. Where was Vladmir and Vincent? Were they what he saw move out of the corner of his eyes? Adrastos decided to focus on what was going on in front of him. He'd find out about the two later.

Madame Trixie announced that they needed to decide on two groups. With there being only seven left, one team would have three while the other would have four. Adrastos cleared his throat. "I'll go with the archaeologists and assist in protecting them," he volunteered. His eyes watched the others as they made their decision. When his eyes landed on Noir, they asked silently, 'What will you do?'
