Well, that was one of these bastards down, and now Zander was stuck with the joyless job of having to deal with the other one. He wished he had somewhere else he could put the torch for the moment, but if he left it on the stairs it would probably roll down them and fall off the edge into oblivion. He would have to keep it with him, and hope that the wind wasn't enough to put it out.
Running down the stairs after his partner, he moved sporadically, using his agility and his speed to keep him from moving too long in the same direction. He would go straight, then diagonal, then diagonal in the other direction, weaving about in a pattern-less hodgepodge in an attempt to keep the skeleton from actually getting a hit off on him.
Even if they fired, they would have to be aimed at where he was, and so he was going to have to follow the rule of "Be where they're not, don't let them shoot where you are." He hoped he was doing well at it, but he couldn't tell until he got out of this battle without a scratch.
Finally, he got to within range of the skeleton and decided to let him have it. Building up his strength into his legs, he propelled himself at the enemy just like his predecessor had done. However, the difference here was, he was still moving as he did so, turning his body into a whirling dervish. Even if it was to fire at him, there was a chance that in his rotation he would be able to get off with a grazed injury. Plus, like this, it couldn't see his head, and there was little chance of it scoring a direct hit. It also guarded the torch from destruction, but it did put the fire worryingly close to his scarf.
