Hunting Fun [job, Tororkun / Mononku]

Job Description:

It was early in the morning when Tororkun woke up, he got out of bed and stretched before getting dressed and going outside, he was heading towards the center of the village to discuss a job. Standing in front of a rather large hut, he knocked on the door "One minute." The man on the other side said. Tororkun waited for a bit before the door opened "Alright well then I assume your here to help with the wolf meat right?" the man asked "Yes I am." Tororkun replied "Alright then their should be a man named Mononku helping you, I hear he is a hunter so the two of you shouldn't have to many problems." the man paused "Now I think he is supposed to meet you at the East gate." he added. "Collect the meat and hides right?" Tororkun asked "Yes, meat and hides." the man answered, Tororkun nodded "Alright then see you when we get back.". The man nodded and said "Good luck to you." as Tororkun turned and headed Toward the East gate.

Tororkun arrived at the East gate, where he decided to walk a short distance outside of the village and look around, there where a few small hills and trees dotting the landscape. Tororkun decided to walk around a bit heading farther out, he saw the pass the wolves where supposed to be, hopefully this Mononku knows how to draw them out. After a few more minutes walking about Tororkun decided to head back to the gate and wait for his partner to show up.

Mononku had spent the morning scouting out the pass he was to hunt some wolves in. Last night after going to bed an old man had started banging on his door when he finally answered it the man offered him a job hunting a few wolves for their meat. Mon had informed the man that currently he couldn't take on to many wolves and the man said he was already taking that into account and told him to meet his partner tomorrow at the east gate. So now we're back to what he's currently doing, observing the pass for anything that could get in the way or help, but no it was a regular old frozen pass with plenty of space to fight but absolutely no place to hide 'Ugh, oh well guess we'll just do it the old fashioned way.' he thinks to himself observing the area, watching from a good distance where he could barely make out any shapes he can see a small pack of what he assumed where wolves walking into the pass. From this distance he couldn't make it out clearly but they where all medium sized wolves. 'Probably a hunting party for a larger pack.' he assumes as he begins to make his way back to the village. As he enters the front gate he sees a shorter man there waiting for someone. "Hey are you supposed to be the guy I'm hunting with?" He asks approaching the man and sizing him up.

TororKun looks up to see a slightly tall man who he assumed to be Mononku "Yes I am." Tororkun Responded. After Mononku had relayed what he had seen at the pass they left to take up a look out position on a overhang Mononku found in the pass, once they where closer Mononku directed Tororkun up a small path to a small cliff that over hung the pass. After looking out from their perch for an hour or two they saw a small group of wolves reentering the pass, they where decent sized, Tororkun watched the wolves walk down the pass closer to their location the three wolves where walking in a tight triangular formation. Tororkun didn't think they knew where they where but he wasn't to sure, once the wolves where almost directly below them Tororkun accidentally knocked a small rock off the side of the cliff alerting the wolves.

The wolves immediately took up rather offensive stances and began their way up the path toward the overhang "Dang it!" Tororkun said. One of the wolves had climbed up onto the overhang, Tororkun quickly picked up his Kanabo and took up a defensive stance next to Mononku who was up and ready for combat as well. The wolf circled the two before another one shortly joined it on the overhang, at this rate they where going to be surrounded Tororkun took up a defensive pose in readying up for a potential attack.

'Oh come on!' Mon thinks to himself looking at the wolves that where now circling them 'Tell him to be careful and what happens he kicks a rock into one of them.' he thinks as he stares down the wolves he could tell the wolves are either small or aren't fully grown standing at 65cm high, he estimated them at maybe 39kgs in weight. Mon grips his spear tighter thinking of what they could do, the wolves didn't look like they'd take to much to take down judging by the way their stomachs where sinking in he could tell they probably haven't had a meal in awhile. Making them even more dangerous as they are probably desperate meaning they'll fight with the same desperation. 'Oh well currently we need to take out at least one of them before the one climbing up makes it.' He thinks "Tor I'm gonna try and take out one of them watch my back." he says staring down his target then suddenly lashing out with his spear performing a quick rapid strike on the wolf in front of him. The first thrust the wolf managed to dodge if just barley, but the second one hit spot on running through the wolfs chest cavity, and the third went straight into it's neck. As Mon finished his attack the now lifeless body of the wolf fell where it was. The other wolf seeing it's pack mate fall ran straight at Mon clearing the distance between the two in a matter of seconds. As this was happening the other wolf finally made it up to them.

Tororkun saw the second wolf charging at Mononku, he gripped his kanabo tightly and when the wolf was in range he preformed Striking Giant bringing his kanabo down onto the wolfs front shoulders. The wolf hit the ground and lay motionless, however the third wolf was by no means being quiet as it charged the two Tororkun tried to move out of the way but he was to slow and the wolf slammed into Tororkun biting his forearm "Grrr." Tororkun growled in pain before lifting his forearm the wolfs hind legs still on the ground he was still biting down hard, Tororkun used his free hand to hit the wolf in the side with a Mauling Giant causing the wolf to let go and fall to the ground laying there limp. Tororkun caught his breath as he looked over his arm to see the wolf had bit down about an inch into his arm, before tearing a bit off the bottom of his shirt to tie around his arm to stop the bleeding, looking over at Mononku who gave a nod Tororkun helped Mononkun drag the wolves together. They still needed to be dressed for their meat and hide. Tororkun had never really skinned an animal before seeing as how he never really caught many animals and the only time he prepared anything it was a fish, however Mononkun being a hunter and all must know. "So you know how to dress these right?" Tororkun questioned.

"I do indeed, however I left my skinning knife back in my hut." Mon answers, he then takes a look at Tor's arm and he suggests that he would carry two of the wolves and Tor could carry one. On the way back Mon gave Tor a brief explanation of how they would skin the beast from the skinning to the cleaning however being only a hunter he could only explain how to do basic skinning and cleaning. When they finally reached the village he lead Tor to is house, and pulled out two skinning knives and advised Tor that they should start now or else they'ed run out of sunlight and have to wait until tomorrow to finish. The skinning took a while as the two swapped stories of the few adventures they had. Mon had to help Tor only a few times with the skinning, but he could tell Tor wasn't exactly one for this type of work. When they had finally finished skinning them they took the now skinned wolves back out of the village to clean them so that the smell wouldn't affect the villagers, this was the most gut wrenching part, and Mon wasn't surprised when Tor gagged at the sight of the beasts innards after that the two finished the task but Tor was a little green in the face through it all. "Well that's just about it so we should get this meat over to the old man." Mon said as he finished pulling the meat off the last wolf Tor just nod's as they leave to find the old man. "I appreciate you lads doing this for me. Though are you sure his bite will be okay." the old man asked feeling a little concerned for Tors arm "He'll be fine." Mon said "Those wolves barely punctured his flesh." he explains. As the two left Mon turned to Tor "Well theirs still day light I guess we can blow off a little steam now." he said as the two neared the center of the village.

Tororkun nodded "Yea I guess we could." Tororkun responded, the two grabbed some dinner at a small restaurant where they spent some time talking. The two discussed their professions and pastimes and they talked a bit about their past however eventually it got late and the restaurant closed. Eventually the two parted ways and they each went home. Tororkun stepped into his house and changed shirts and properly cleaned and dressed his wound before he took some time to heat up some water for a bath. Tororkun sat at a chair by the fire waiting for his bath to be finished, he let out a yawn before walking over to his bookcase and reading over a chapter on some types of large game 'Must be a pretty interesting job.' Tororkun thought to himself placing the book back onto his bookcase. After checking and seeing his bath was ready Tororkun washed himself clean, making sure not to put his injured arm into the water to prevent any possible chances infections, after his bath Tororkun got ready for bed he thought about the wolf bite for a bit he knew he still needed to get stronger.

The next morning Tororkun woke up made some breakfast, afterwards Tororkun went out behind his hut and began practicing his techniques getting bit reminded him that he wasn't there yet after an hour he took a break and went back to the small restaurant from last night to get some lunch and think over what he was going do next.

As the two go there separate ways after eating Mon can't help but think this job went relatively smoothly 'And I also got some good black mail for a later date.' Mon thinks remembering Tor kick the rock off the ridge causing them to get in that situation, well time to go home and get some rest, he thinks as he heads home and prepare's himself a bath from a barrel of water he has in his house for such occasions. 'Now lets see tomorrow I need to get some more work done, I'll probably go fishing.' He thinks as he drifts off to sleep. The next day he gets up and heads into the village looking for a place that sold fishing spears if any. He wanders aimlessly until he finely finds a shop just to find out that they where closed for the day.
