It looks like that past can't be escaped. At least, not for Bahir. It seems that what people say is true: "What's a thief, always a thief." The only difference is, Bahir is not a thief. He is in fact an assassin. It wasn't until recent events occurred, that Bahir realized that he wasn't as polished as he used to be. That needed to change. Being mediocre wasn't going to cut it. If he truly wanted to retake his claim as an assassin, he'd need to improve himself, or at least build his skills to the point that they were while he was under his father's tutelage.

Today was the start of the new Bahir. The boy stood in front of the gates of Remano and stared off into the city. Where's the furthest place that I can think of. Hmm. That food place! He thought to himself. He grinned and leaned his head to both sides and rolled his shoulders. He started to count down from three in his mind. Two.. The young man bent a bit at his knees, putting himself into a starting position. One.. The young fanalis exhaled slowly and tensed every muscle in his body, getting it ready for GO!This moment! Bahir utilized his explosive first step and burst out running.

Approaching a light group of people, Bahir cut between a few of them, weaving in and out of them with ease. Before he hit a more congested area of the city, Bahir looked out of the corner of his eye and saw a low-ish window. He leapt for the opening and gripped the ledge with his left hand. He joined his left hand with his right and pressed his feet against the building beneath his hands. He looked behind him at the building across the way. Pushing off of the building with his legs, Bahir shot towards the roof of the building and rolled to his knees. Pushing from the ground, the young Fanalis began again. Leaping from rooftop to rooftop with an eerie silence about him, aside from an occasional grunt.

It wasn't too long before Bahir had reached the food place that he set as his target. He sat on top of the building for a while, catching his breath. Once he regained his wind, Bahir stood and jumped from the roof, landing in front of the entrance. The people around the building looked on at the young man startled and confused. Bahir, however, didn't pay them any attention and walked into the restaurant, eating his fill before heading home.

A few weeks later, Bahir was seen walking through the streets. However, his clothing was a bit different than they were when he first appeared in Remano. Lately, Bahir had only been wearing his dark purple midriff shirt and his baggy pants. Slowly getting rid of the cloak for his daytime apparel, but today he was in all white. A white sleeveless shirt and white baggy pants. His pants had a few patches in them here and there, but it was all generally quite impressive. He also chose not to wear his headband today and to let his hair do as it pleased. It was still spikey, but it didn't go in one general direction. It was a wild mess! Nevertheless, the young fanalis didn't pay it very much attention. He walked the streets with a smile, as if nothing was going on.

Unbeknownst to the people of Remano, Bahir was testing his eavesdropping skills today. For the last few weeks, the young assassin had been training his free running throughout the large city. In those weeks, fortunately, the young man had become quite familiar with his surroundings. He knew which alleyway took him to different places he could hide, which buildings had ladders attached to allow easier access to their rooftops, and the obstacles that are usually in the way on the streets of Remano. Now that he knew the layout of the city, he figured that he could get a feel for the citizens. Understanding why some would be upset and why others were happy. Even though Reim wasn't his country, nor was he rooted in its affairs, but the fact of not knowing why people seemed upset with the King and the lack of Kou presence bugged him. He just had to find out as much as he could.

The best way he thought to do this was to play the role of a good citizen. He walked along the other people of Remano and smiled and spoke to them, casually. A few, "Hi I'm new here!" with a dash of "How are you sir/madam?" Wash, rinse, repeat. There were a few people that he didn't really get a reaction from, but he surprisingly got a good deal of talking out of a few people. Not as much info as he liked however, but he would just have to try again.

The next day, Bahir was once again out on the streets of Remano in his all white clothing. This time, the gifts he was born with were going to come into play. He was sure of it. As he stood at a few shops, his ears twitched. Actively listening to people around him, even if he didn't seem to be paying attention to them. Remano didn't seem to be that different from how it was before the new King. Aside from the changes in taxes and them getting rid of slaves, but those seemed like IMPROVEMENTS from how the city was. Hm. If they've gotten rid of slaves it will be much harder to find him.. he silently mused. His thoughts occupying him and distracting him from what he was doing. The owner of the shop yelled at Bahir to snap him back to the present and with a quick apology, the Fanalis paid for two rolls and ate them as he walked away and down the road.

Wanting to end on a "high" note, Bahir strolled into a rather crowded pub. Usually he would stay away from these sorts of places, but he wanted to know more. He knew that people wouldn't talk about most things on the streets, but in places like this pub they were a bit more secure. There were a lot of people, it was dark, and there was a LOT of alcohol. It seemed like the perfect place for people to really talk about their displeasures with the King and Kou. Bahir sat himself at a table, eating his second roll. He received a glass of water from a server and gave her a tip. He didn't want anything else. As the night went on and more drinks were sold, the people's true intentions started to show. How they were displeased with the idea of being Kou's conquest, how the King was just Kou's puppet. All of the concerns about the Kou empire came to light for the young Fanalis and he didn't have to do a thing to obtain this information. Relying on his gifted senses was all he really needed to effectively spy on this city.

Before the young man stood to return home, he heard of something that really irked him. There were people talking about certain individuals around Remano that incited the people by allowing them to speak with a moderate sized group of citizens about the dangers of Kou and the unsatisfaction with the current King. There were even rumors of some of these men planning a revolt on the Kingdom. Bahir figured that it wouldn't last very long, nor be that effective, but the idea of how it would be stamped out is what really troubled him. With the people already making up their minds of not being too thrilled with the King, if he was to take military action against a revolt, it would just drive a portion of the citizens further away. That would turn out bad for Lagi. Clearing his throat, Bahir stood from the pub. The conversations were starting to irritate him and he decided to leave before he truly got angry. I may have learned a little more than I wanted today... "I need to sleep... I wonder if everything is dry and aired out by now.." With that, the young fanalis returned home and fell to his bed. Hoping for his mind to process everything from the last couple of days while he slept.
