It wasn't always safe in the city, especially at this time of night. Jahangir was doing a patrol , a usual nightly thing for him. He had goosebumps tonight, not the type of goosebumps that would make a man run away in fear. No Jahan had the type of Goosebumps that told him a fight was going to happen soon. That was fundamentally the difference between the sane and the Jahangir, he didn't know fear. He actually embraced the idea of nearly dying, while he would prefer to continue breathing for it was one of his favorite activities.
He wouldn't hesitate to risk his life, for whats the use in being alive if you dont live and all of the fun things in life were dangerous to Jahan. The night wasn't a beautiful one tonight, the moon was big but ugly, grey clouds surrounding it in the oddest of ways. There was a chill requiring Jahan to wear more clothes than usual. He was dressed in Black and midnight blue, two thick long sleeved shirts and a midnight blue sash wrapped around his torso. He wore a Black hooded cloak which was detailed with a blue arabic design around its trimming, and golden coin like adornments which hung from the trimmings dangling just inches from the floor. Nobody would dare rob the man however, this was a part of town that he was known to come around frequently, and beat the hell out of thieves just as frequently.
Jahan could just about gallivant freely upon whatever streets he felt like, nothing could really stop him, well nothing that didn't want to be punched in the face repeatedly. Oh and he could punch things in the face really really hard. There was a slight breeze blowing by that Jahan could feel as he walked the streets, he was looking around for rival gangs, and guards. He simply needed to constantly keep a good tab on the streets, hell he did work here. With Typhon having been recently disbanded Jahan had simply decided to do things his way. Typhon was now a private militia, its family like values were still in tact but they were under a different name than a guild. They also were doing things in secret in order to avoid any potential bull crap that the government could give him. From what he knew the council men that had recently forced him to disband Typhon had been eliminated by someone.
This further aided to Jahangir's goals, from the looks of it just about anyone could be the ruler of Reim. You didn't need to be a very careful and responsible individual as he observed from all of his dealings with Lagi. Nor did you have to be a reasonable person from what he got from Roark. Even more so you didn't need the power or common sense to keep yourself alive as he took in from the recent incident with the dead council men. So it was simple, Jahangir had finally decided that he would take control of Reim and he would do it in the most efficient way possible.
Jahan came back to reality and began observing his environment. He could hear the sound of screaming in the distance. So he increased his pace. People were running in the opposite direction of Jahangir, fleeing from some sort of danger.
"Monster! Monster"
Many of the people yelled in terror as Jahan passed them. He weaved through the crowd without bumping int any of the running individuals. It was a shopping district of Reim one that was usually heavily guarded to avoid thieves, and also heavily populated from shoppers. If something was happening here the guards had to be on it pronto, and if not then this would become a disaster. Jahan wondered what it could have been "A terrorist attack? Wait no impossible these people were screaming out monster."
Jahangir made it to the scene of the crime and there was blood everywhere, a couple of dead civilians and even more dead guards.
"Well at least they tried to do their jobs"
Jahan could respect that for the most part they were pretty useless. either un aware of the people complains, or just uncooperative. A lot of it had to do with their higher ups not allowing them to do their jobs freely. However in these times when they did do their jobs, and died for it Jahan had a warriors respect for them. One of the guards picked himself up of the ground coughing up heaps of dark colored blood as he did so. The man was in bad condition and it didn't look like he would make it out of here alive.
Jahan sprinted to the mans side and knelt beside him.
"What happened here? I'm the ex-guild master Jahangir Nikator I'm here to help."
The man tilted his head only to stop and cough up blood, he was un able to face Jahangir. Most of the damage being dealt to him was to his neck and lungs, he must have punctured them at the least. Jahangir leaned closer leaving his ear near the guards mouth in order for him to be able to speak easier.
"They were monsters... C-Chimeras I believe. Two of Em'." The guard coughed spitting up more blood.
"They headed towards the back streets in the direction of the schools." The guards words wer getting shallower and harder to here, Jahangir screamed for a medic to come, but it seemed that any life magician in the area was spooked by the monsters. The man coughed again for what seemed to be the last time.
"Watch out for the tentacles" The man uttered before his eyes rolled back. Signaling he had spoke his last words. They were odd but any person who used their last words to help Jahan earned a seat in his heart.
"Rest in peace brother"
Jahan Then ran towards the back streets he was picking up speed before reaching a full sprint. Whatever the hell these "Chimera" were they were going to die, they had no purpose killing people in Reim. In HIS Reim. Jahangir's kingly personality was beginning to evolve into something different now. At first it was just a "Gatsby" like charade, stemming from his own pride, charm and arrogance. Now however it was different. He didn't like the way things were headed for Reim. He felt as if he was the man whom should truly be in charge, and his actions would have to show that. He also felt like this was probably the best time to start taking matters into his own hands. Kings protect their people so he would protect his people.
Yet we shouldn't get to out of hand, I wouldn't go as far as to say that Jahangir was a completely benevolent hero or ruler. While he surely didnt have any malicious intents, the boy sought to usurp the throne through a whim. His only reasoning behind his actions was his feelings in which he wore on his sleeve. This wasn't a reasonable, nor a responsible reason to take charge of Reim. Than and still this was only the start of Jahangirs journey, and possibly he would evolve once again on his journey to becoming the king. Jahangir began hearing a loud thumping sound that he could only identify as heavy foot steps.
He turned a corner and then faced his foes, two monstrous creatures. They were large, far bigger than Jahan was, Their bodies which were deformed, and discolored a sickly shade of brown and green were veiny and muscled. The creature had large worm like tubes, thick and literally pulsing liquids through out them scattered about their bodies. That things face, if it were even considered a face was hideous. Its mouth was morphed, the skin appearing to blend with its neck, its chin not visible anymore, It had a single blackened eye ball that was enlarged to the size of baseball. Its skull protruded Green spike like appendages and from his other eye socket a giant worm like....Thing protruded.
Jahan laughed at them, not sure if they were intelligent enough to understand speech or not.
"Well I guess I'd be mad too if god made me that way"
The creatures were not happy with that though, the taunt caused them to react and loose their tempers. The beasts inhaled deeply, a sick screech echoing through the back streets. They exhaled and "Screeched", the attack sent Jahangir flying 20 meters back. The boy caught himself by flipping and skidded across the ground a bit, he used his sword as leverage stabbing it into the ground to stop himself from being pushed any further. He stood up dusting himself off.
"What are ya tryin' to sweet talk me?" Jahan said smugly while shrugging his shoulders, he took steps in the direction of the Chimeras. He then sped up into a run, increasing his speed to 10 and then 15 m/s in little over a second he met the Chimeras again and started close range combat. They swiped at Jahangir but he was quicker and jumped above the creatures, umm fist. He retaliated against the closest Chimera with a kick to its face, which dealt D-tier damage due to the Chimeras Thick Skin.
Jahangir grunted feeling that the chimera had eaten the attack with little difficulty. He Back flipped over the other Chimeras fist, and weaved through their attacks. The monsters were proving to be a more difficult fight then he prepared for. He also had to be careful if he were to use his stronger powered techniques for it would greatly damage the neighborhood surrounding him. He had to carefully line these guys up before he used "Gathering of the Heavenly Gods" or the damage to the city would be detrimental. Jahan waited and dodged attacks, he lined the two up with an empty portion of the street and then let all loose. He Used "Gathering of the Heavenly Gods" punching one of the chimera at 25 m/s sending it flying down the street and dealing A tier damage.
