- Old Traits:
- Would like to use the B-tier free Halloween trait and two starter trait points.
General:- Nimble Fingers:
- Trait Name: Nimble Fingers
Trait Tier: D
Trait Requirement: -
Trait Description: Through years of training, the character has obtained deft hand and finger work allowing them a speed and accuracy with fine motor skills a cut above the average person.
Trait Effect: Can swiftly tie knots or retrieve items on your person in an instant.
Custom:- Enhanced Ceremonial Processing:
- Trait Name: Enhanced Ceremonial Processing
Trait Tier: D
Trait Requirement: Magician Primary, Know more than 1 magic type
Trait Description: Either through innate talent or keenness developed subconsciously, Ingram's ability to command the rukh has fundamentally surpassed traditional magician limitations. He can will it to follow separate orders simultaneously with ease.
Trait Effect: Ingram's spiritual partitioning allows parallel casting and synergistic control of any two known basic magic type/equivalent in his abilities.
-Can use magic type A and magic type B without complexity reduction for logical effects from the resulting synced output.
-Can cast a magic type A,B, and A+B effect in a spell following amount and potency rules.
Trait Name: Enhanced Magic Output-Wind Affinity
Trait Tier: B
Trait Requirement: Magician Primary with wind affinity, Physical Trait or class for full effect
Trait Description: The amount magoi that Ingram can harness without issue is much larger than average due to his innate prowess and physical fortitude, greatly increasing the strength of his spells.
Trait Effect: The potential output of wind magic abilities Ingram casts is far beyond the average mage,at their lowest having the strength to gouge the earth, rend flesh, and breakdown large stone structures through sheer impact. Wind magic abilities and combos logically involving it can naturally deal B-tier basic damage. Heat magic cast generates enough force to lift large boulders with ease and always deals C-tier basic damage in abilities and logical combos. The effectiveness of this trait is lowered one tier without a physical class or trait.- Old text:
- In canon physical training increase output for spells across the board but feel that would be a bit overturned for site,
I do personally think it would be more balanced for it to effect one magic type per trait, though I also do think if you trait for your primary magic type it should effect the affinity magic type at lower tier potency kinda like canon and have a V2 below with that version. (Now above if fully approved)
1st addendum: No problem with traits needing C-rank Magician but was wondering if I actually needed to edit anything or if It was more so you confirming I know I can't practically use the Processing trait until I know more than one magic type even though Ingram has the "hardware" IC.
Also wanted confirm if the Output trait was looked and if V2 was cool.
More importantly, I made these to be as strong and practical as I think traits should be without abusing the limits of the systems. These in particular would allow me a -large- scope of versatility flexibility IMO (though standard single type magic can ignore physics logic to the same extent in magi canon,as well as site from what I've seen).
Posting my examples of the capabilities I envision for transparency.- 1st custom examples:
- Processing: Lets say I know Water/Ice and Lightning magic and have this trait to utilize them in a C-tier ability.
-I could run them in unison to make a (salt) water construct undergoing electrolysis for a C-tier merged output status effect (chlorine gas poison in this case)
-Another C-tier spell could have a D-tier potency water and lightning effect while each type is utilized at C-tier complexity.
And as such while they would have to follow potency and amount rules higher tier abilities could get pretty out there. If I upgrade the trait it would add more types that can be used in parallel and unison, which would get even more expansive -though still following the rules.
- 2nd custom examples:
- Enhanced Magic Output- Simply put Ingram's wind magic will be strong as hell IC wise and this gives me a large uumph factor in basic attack output and potential ability indirect clashes.
Let's say I make B-tier ability that launches 4 fist sized wind balls each doing D-tier ability damage. They can all be ability blocked as normal but unguarded logic/fluff damage wise not only do each of these deal B-tier (basic damage durability and clash wise) each one created has the IC force to break large stone statues through contact wind pressure the instant it touches something. This matches B-tier enhanced strength though it's possible it benefits impact scale due to the nature of magic.
System wise I'm 99% sure it fine cause you can achieve a similar effect for cheaper on a enhanced strength or a-tier weapon holder by using a range extension spell. Same for the A-tier ability weapon damage combos.
The part I'd like to you be aware of is the potential indirect clashes and ability possibilities i could access because of it.
Though pretty sure you could always do this I could easily blow away most gas cloud abilities and heavily damage buildings with D-tier abilities. If I get ranger I could possible rider on a heavy catapult into battle.
In the name of simplicity and to show a certain someone the power of fabulous hair trait going to save the Halloween trait for Natalia.
Trait Name: Nimble Fingers
Trait Tier: D
Trait Requirement: -
Trait Description: Through years of training, the character has obtained deft hand and finger work allowing them a speed and accuracy with fine motor skills a cut above the average person.
Trait Effect: Can swiftly tie knots or retrieve items on your person in an instant.
I have scans and examples to back up everything I say here just a pain to attach with my data limit right now.
Now as for my custom traits, I think Knux has the clearest understanding of what I'm going for but i would like for everyone to be onboard with Ingram's
IMO what I'm trying to trait for is really simple,I'm just bad at being concise since I like to cover all my bases. In canon mages can process a stupid amount of rukh orders simultaneously and massively increase the output of ALL magic they cast by increasing basic physical fitness-like high school football training (12 year old Aladdin with his magi power sealed went from candle light to 50+ meter pillar of fire on the same spell with one month of physical training). Also separate from using combination types, learning to communicate with other types of rukh than your main type increases "magoi conductivity" raising output even further.
So closer to canon trait would be this.
Trait Name: Enhanced Magic Output
Trait Tier: D
Trait Requirement: Magician Primary, Imuchakk nationality
Trait Description: The amount magoi that Ingram can harness without drawbacks is much larger than average due to his innate prowess and physical fortitude, greatly increasing the strength of his spells.
Trait Effect: The potential output of magic abilities Ingram casts is increased at their weakest having the strength to move object double his weight with ease. Spells can naturally do D-tier damage on contact following logic.
Which to answer Merrze’s question, functions kinda like an enhanced physical strength trait fluff wise(but better since magic is better in general) and ability wise anytime an ability would do damage it could do it with x-tier basic damage and strength fluff according to tier.
Not going to go with it but Enhanced ceremonial processing is a tricked out version of something done all the time in canon. My goal behind it is trying to reduce magic -abilities- being locked to singular types (even counting combos) since they're Rukh *ordering* abilities that result in magic not necessarily "X-type" magic casting.
In canon we've seen multiple example of magicians using different types of magic in at the same time without it being combination.
- Examples:
Arba dual casting two alma torran spells at the same time and merging the output, Yamaraiha maintaining the barrier, Snicker-doodle using all 8 types in conjunction ( could be combination magic but didn’t seem like it) to make her clones, the artemya queen djinn being able to use all three types at once in the same spell. Alladin using the ugo sand creation while also casting heat magic.Titus showing the component types that go into making the construction combo magic before actually just using it normally.
I posted the limited version with all extra text
So if everything is fine I’d like to have Enhanced Magic Output and Nimble fingers looked at for approval, if the limited version is preferred I’ll type the D-tier version.
