job:
So while the construction of the mountain peak temple was underway by the famed architect known as Ustad, the sculptor who happened to be known as Josser would be working on his own masterpiece. He was working hard on making small sculptures and relief carvings throughout the whole construction progress but was also working on the larger, more intense statue.

The statue was going to be a lion that would adorn the roof of the temple. The lion statue would be made out of marble and would end up being able 15 meters long, 10 high, and 4 meters wide. So this would be a large and imposing statue that was meant to symbolize the woman who had founded this country and built it from the ground level up. Ideally he wanted to use red clay to give it a sort of a crimson look but marble would be more intense and intimidating, also breaking away was a bit more up his alley than the adding on that was in clay.

This would take him probably close to 6 months of the year it took Ustad to make the whole totality of the temple. He spent the first couple of weeks searching for the right piece of marble that was large enough for the sculpture. He ended up having to find two large blocks of the stone that he would end up combining together and covering up the seam in order to make it work.

After this he would work on drawing up the piece beforehand, making a very intensive and detailed sketch of the lion, focusing on how the light would his and mold it’s body. After that Josser would begin to work on chipping away at the blocks after he had placed them together so that he could work on the two blocks as a conjoined piece. As the budding sculptor started to chip away he would be very slow and meticulous about each strike of the hammer on the chisel. At first he was just getting  to the general outline of the body, giving himself enough material to work on the finer details and specificities of it without taking away too much of the marble. This process would take up the remaining two weeks of the first month as well as the next entire month as it was a long and arduous process.

After the first generalization of the sculpting process he would begin to have the overall shape of the lion’s body carved out from the stone. He would take a couple of weeks off to rest and focus on more of the smaller sculptures and carvings so that he could stay on top of them as well. During this time he would also check up on Ustad who was working hard with the other construction workers. The sculptor seemed to like and appreciate the company of the architect while Ustad saw him as a nuisance and bothersome but the architect did put up with Josser better than any other person he has met so far.

After this, he would go back to his sculpture, working on the fine details. He added the clear and evident muscles of it’s torso and legs that would the power and speed of the creature following up with the mane and every individual thread so that it appeared to be flowing from the wind. The tail would be partially attached to one of the legs due to giving it more stability since it was prone to break off. As for the face the creator would give it a very stoic look. One of a leader and survivor more so than one of a fighter, warrior or hunter. The lion was male which would be a bit counter to the leader of Merridia but it was not meant to be a full representation of the empress so this would be fine for the architect.

It would not take much longer until he had finished with the fine details and the finishing touched of this particular piece which could truly be seen as a masterpiece. It was most likely a lower level masterpiece but it could still be recognized as such. It took 4 months to make the remaining of the piece after the initial sculpting which was not all that slow of the talented artist.

They would ship the statue in a couple of pieces from the artist fellowship that he made with Ustad, aka the house he took over half of. They would put it back together so that they would not break apart naturally and place it on the top of the temple with it facing the direction of the palace. With this the duo of artists would be done with their first collaboration together.

However, they would have some final problems in their way before they could leave the mountain. The lion that they had to kill in self defense months back was apparently considered to be a sacred animal of the country of merridia. This had caused a few of the more outspoken citizens of the country had decided to take revenge for the creature by attacking the two artists that they deem to be responsible.

So the four angered merridians would appear and would go to attack the tired artists without giving them a chance to talk things out. Ustad would use his technique roofing nails with extra effort put into it to shoot a nail at one of them, not to kill them but take them out of the action. Josser would create a sheet of ice on the ground with third rate which they were on the edge of a mountain that was sloped so two of the three remaining fighters would lose their footing and slaid down falling off the mountain cliff fallng to their deaths assumably. Ustad would use another roofing nail to take out the remaining meridian.

They would then quickly leave, abandoning the two living attackers on the mountain to handle things on their own now.
