Job Overview: The architect known simply as Ustad is finally opening up his own physical business after settling to this new country that he has moved into after his tribe became a part of it. His current task is to come up with a blueprint for the building as well as figuring out what kind of materials to get.
Ustad had not yet settled down in his new homeland of merridia despite being here for quite a while now. The young architect was not someone that was easy to adapt of used to change so it was a bit shocking to come back to his tribe after years of being an apprentice in Balbadd just to discover that his tribe had been absorbed into a part of a new nation that was not there last time he was here. This would possibly upset people but in the case of this architect he did not really care about it. His tribe while being family were just people to him. In his eyes his parents and siblings were the same as some stranger he meets in Balbadd. They may have thought he left to learn for the sakes, but it was solely so that he could create beautiful forms of art. He didn’t even want to create architecture for others to look at, it was solely for himself. This was the type of person that Ustad was, someone who distanced themselves from people and only cared a bout inanimate structures that so happened were made by people. But that was neither here nor there. No the reason he was not used to change was just a part about him, one that he could not rightfully express into words, he only knew that he did not like it. Nothing against his new empress it was just who the man was, neutral to people and a huge fan of buildings.
He would find himself in an inn surrounded by the masses that annoyed him to a great deal. All of them talking to one another and bumping into him occasionally. The worst thing is that they try to have small talk with him and try to get to know him. He hated that and wish that these chatter boxes would get the hint and leave him alone. This is the deciding factor that pushed him over the edge. It was time for him to build his own place and start his architectural business. Ustad was aware that there was a guild of architects in Merridia that he was supposed to go to first before building but that involved initiating contact and talking to them which was something he was not going to do. If the guild wanted in meet with him then they were going to have to be the ones that talk to him not the other way around. But for now he would just focus on his first building. The budding architect had built before during his apprenticeship in Balbadd but it was always for someone else’s design, someone else’s work. This building that was to serve as his workshop and home would serve as his first architecture that was all his.
He would grab a few sheets of paper from one of the many pockets he had on his clothing as well as a pencil. He would start drawing with an intense look on his face. His design was based on Balbadd architecture which would stand out a bit in the rainforest area of the capital but would not be that different compared to some of the meridian architecture. It would be an average size building with a bedroom, laboratory, kitchen and then a main room.. There would be a multifoil arch that would serve as a door way without any actual door since he did not see much point unless he went all out with the door which he did not feel was needed for his building. It would be made of stone of mortar for the most part with tiles of blue white and black forming geometic patterns as designs. Then for the main focal point would be a large blue onion dome that would sprout from the top of the square lower floor. This dome would be the aesthetic achievement but also serve as where his office would be since he could see people coming from either of the 4 windows that he will have facing each of the 4 cardinal directions. As for the geometric designs that would serve as the artistic flourish they would be in a star like patter that covered each corner of the structure with some lines around the multifoil arches to accentuate them.
This would take a few hours to come up with but once he was done he would call it a night and plan to find materials and labor the next day.
