Personality:Takumi or Tak as he prefers,is a bright eyed youth with more experience with the worlds going ons than one might expect from a 17 year old boy,which immediately shines through in his personality.Curios beyond what could be considered normal coupled with a splash of headstrong Perseverance has often put the young man in more than a few precarious situations.


This sparked a wanderlust in Tak that he never saw coming till he become older and began traveling.Hayabusa also began teaching Tak his personally developed sword style known as Velvet Hammer, as soon as Tak reached the age of 6,knowing the boy’s Fanalis blood would make him a fine Warrior and one worthy of carrying on his sword style.This instilled a warriors pride and honor that Takumi carries with him everyday.Still the road is rough and Tak is  Not above simple market thievery and general debauchery to get by on the road as an exception  during tough times ,Tak still draws the line at  killing innocents or thieving from families or Merchants in need.


Never one to stay for too long in a single place,Tak  has visited nearly every Country besides Kou,and only due to personal reasons involving old man Hayabusa. The Red haired swordsman is more at home sleeping outside beneath a fig tree or in the back of a bumpy jolting Wagon than in a palace with a four poster bed and house servants.Tak loves nature and feels a certain connection to it which makes sense considering he was found in the wilderness and subsequently spent his youth firmly planted there.


Eccentric and laid back..unless an individual crosses the line,Takumi can often seem a bit distant and off in his own imagination at times and can be very Lazy or difficult to motivate,however once stirred the boy born of the Jade Dragon Mountains can erupt into action with little or no warning,inhabiting a hyper focused and intense demeanor that absolutely bleeds with dogged determination.


Despite picking up and absorbing many cultures since he left the Mountains.Tak can be unknowingly rude due to his youth being spent in virtual isolation from proper civilization,but will quickly and profusely apologise when a mistake is realised.Above it all Tak is a kind hearted young man , who genuinely seeks to learn and grow through his ever changing worldview and perspective,accepting all of the souls born into this fated world and finding cherished friendships  along the way .      


Likes:


Nature: As mentioned before,Tak is a bit averse to Spending too much time away from Nature and is more at home snoozing under the cool shadow of a footbridge then a hospitality center


Sleeping: A huge fan of a good nap at what most normal civilians would think of as  an inappropriate time to be taking a snooze.waking him up from one of his naps can prove to be a very scary experience


Culture: Tak has loved and observed the many countries in the lands, its various offerings and experiences that enrich the young and once isolated Fanalis who often feels like he was warped into a strange land compared to his humble upbringings


Trinkets/clothes: Fascinated with the little trinkets that Old man Hayabusa used to keep around,Tak has taken to collecting small treasures in his travels like the racoon tail that is  tied to his belt, or a small pouch of strangely incandescent river rocks he found near  hot springs in Kina.  


Shadowglass: Tak has a special place in his heart for the shattered sword that was found next to him as an infant and as soon as he ventured forth out of the mountains on his own he went on a year long journey dedicated to finding a swordsmith skilled enough to reforge the Ebony blade,many outright refusing,claiming  it came from master swordsmiths of old residing on the dark continent,Wherever it came from Naming it Shadowglass,it is one of Tak’s most treasured possessions

                     Cowards : instilled with a warriors sense from a young age....Tak despises those who would act as such in the face of adversity

                       


Aspirations: Takumi has a few big aspirations in mind,most of which have been shaped by his turbulent past


Starting a sword school


In order to understand Takumi’s motivation to eventually open up a sword school in the future, one must examine his mentor and surrogate father’s passing with a studios eye.Hayabusa Saito was a former high ranking Kou Military Commander who defected back in the days when the vicious Emperor of the time was slaughtering Nomads on a whim.As a result Hyabusas son and wife were assassinated off the books and he himself pushed to seclusion in the Mountains contemplating his own suicide many times until what Hyabusa believes was a warrior gifted to him by the old Gods showed up not more than a year old with a magnificently shattered Ebony sword laying  next to the boy.


Hyabusa Saito trained the Fanalis for six years,but never expressing his interest in allowing Tak to inherit the Velvet hammer Sword Style,that is until they came.After nearly 40 years of seclusion Kou Assassins seemingly found the humble hermits abode and the struggle was fierce ending in the old man being killed a day after Tak’s 12th birthday.Takumi  escaped to the location that Hayabusa specified if any outsiders started making trouble finding a note inscribed to him there leaving the old man's influence and swordstyle to Tak Officially solidifying the Fanalis conviction to train those in the old man's style once he mastered it himself.


King of the disenfranchised


Creating a traveling group of Loyal sell swords  that protect those outside of the great countries' influence,the people on the fringes of society and the outcasts whos voices still deserve to be heard..Tak has a long way to go before he is experienced enough to lead such a group of heroic individuals but he is hoping that one day he can be .


The Fanalis Corp


The Fanalis Corp are like superheroes to Tak ,having grown up hearing tales of their incredible battle prowess,naturally Tak wants to  join the Fanalis Corps and train and fight alongside his Kin.However he has been training by himself  the last couple years and continues to do so because he doesn't think he is ready,though he wagers that if he can make some noise by entering a few colosseum matches in Reim without kicking the bucket,he could get the leader of the unstoppable Fanalis corp Octavius Flavius  to notice him, and maybe even bid for a spot.


Dungeon Capturer


What attracts Tak to capturing a dungeon is the power it holds less than the riches.The power and influence one could obtain and use to better the lives of all those in the land is invaluable to the young Swordsman.Tak is no fool and realizes that from the mixture of the way that the  old man's stories and travelers paint capturing one of these monolithic structures as a death sentence.So Takumi continues to ready himself so that when the time comes he may  be strong enough to capture one of these mythical towers.    






 Phobias/fears:


being imprisoned :


One of Takumi's true fears is losing his freedom.The young man covets and believes it is a blessing to be able to roam the lands free and unshackled in a world where men look to assert their dominance on and undermine ones life value.The fear of Becoming imprisoned does not simply stop at the prospect of a physical set of bars and a cell.Tak believes one can fall as easily prey to the prison of the mind,whether your own,or someone else's.

Appearance: Surprisingly fashionable ,Takumi can oft be seen wearing semi long ornate flowing robes with strange or enchanting designs on them and borrows  mostly eastern styles  from Kina and Kou since those were the first civilizations he had contact with after his isolation,whether directly or otherwise.Tak wears the silvery blue Moonstone earrings he was found with at birth along with several gold necklaces he had collected over the years in his travels.He wears simple slightly loose fitting pants and a pair of gold colored sandals with little wings  on the heal as if he was emulating the god Hermes.


Not imposing in body mass or size in general Tak appears to be more of a cut and Toned individual,muscles compact and hard like granite with a full six  pack to die for.The majority of The Warriors hair is a typical Fanalis fiery red,however he has dyed streaks of jet black dye through his semi long and often messy mane.Tak’s smile is electric and infectious,finding very little difficulty charming people with his good looks and initially laid back demeanor

History:


Takumi was Abandoned as an infant  within the Monolithic Jade Dragon Mountains,only a pair of beautiful Moonstone earrings and an extravagant looking sword that had been  shattered clean in half to accompany him ,The young Fanalis was found and taken in by an old Mountain Hermit who went by the name of Hayabusa.The old man was shocked as he had not seen a Fanalis in the area for many many years.Inevitably raised by the Old man within his humble shanty home,Hayabusa went about teaching Tak the ways of the world with Grand stories of old that spoke of  the powerful Countries within the world ,their culture and their heroes.



Hayabusa Saito was a former high ranking Kou Military Commander who defected back in the days when the vicious Emperor of the time was slaughtering Nomads on a whim.As a result Hyabusa’s son and wife were assassinated off the books and he himself pushed to seclusion in the Mountains as a high priority wanted criminal within the Kou Empire as well as other countries.In truth Tak only knew Hayabusa for a fleeting ten years or so before the man's sins caught up with him a day after Tak’s 12th birthday.


After nearly 40 years of seclusion Kou Assassins seemingly found the humble hermits abode and the struggle was fierce ending in the old man being killed a day after Tak’s 12th birthday.Takumi  escaped to the location that Hayabusa specified if any “outsiders started making trouble”. Finding a note inscribed to him there leaving the old man's influence and swordstyle to Tak as well as a deed to a small home on the islands of KIna with a key to access it.Upon successfully escaping the Jade Dragon MOuntains,Tak immediately visited the house he was left.


It was dusty and bare besides a small sword rack with a few old dusty blades and a  library of books that spanned the full length of the North east wall.Lying low in the safehouse for a couple months ,the Fanalis would observe in awe and wonder from behind a silly disguise that was probably drawing more attention than it was worth at the all of the trinkets, clothes, food,games,and weapons on the Island country that he had heard about in the old mans stories.


Deciding he both wanted to have his broken Ebony blade reforged as well as see the rest of the world,he soon eagerly offered up his fighting skills as protection from bandits  to any traveling merchant that he could catch and bother within Kina.Most laughed him off after seeing his Sword sheared in half,that is until he lifted a nearby boulder.Securing a job with an eccentric band of traveling  thieves that posed as merchants and became their “muscle” in no time.


Tak traveled with these so called merchants for a solid couple of years learning to properly write poetry,to paint,steal and drink the warm summer nights away while visiting countries he only dreamed of before. Encountering many challenges and duels along the way helped hone the boy’s instinctual fighting prowess as well as introduced him to the dirtier side of combat,as he quickly learned,nothing was taboo in a street fight it seemed.


Wanting to set off on his own despite some long lasting friends that he had made,Tak set off to make a name for himself dueling,while taking any side jobs he could to survive.Its at this point that he had seen a few colosseum matches in Riem while taking bounty hunting gigs there and was hooked.The Fanalis set off training in the ensuing years to come in preparation for his debut in the gladiator esque matches.      



Role-Play Sample:


Takumi was falling,there was no doubt about that.How he came to be upside down speeding headlong into an awaiting Ocean,the water inky black save for the foamy crests forming like crowns atop the deadly waves,was beyond his comprehension.The eccentric looking Fanalis tasted salt and grit as icy water spray whipped at his face like invisible lashes.


Before he knew it Tak hit the surface expecting to freeze,but only burned.The Sea swallowed him up only to eject him out in a burning blaze that shot through a deep purple sky winking with stars.Suddenly those stars began to fall streaking bright white fire trails just as Takumi was.


The white light enveloped all,blinding even Tak until all the colors of the world washed out depositing him into what seemed like a bright white void space.He floated there a moment but was still not able to fully process what was happening.



Sand miraculously appeared below his feet,it felt viscous,gritty and recently baked in the desert sun.Reaching down to grab a handful proved fruitless as he couldn't seem to enclose the fine granules in his impatient grasp.Then the ground began shifting violently and Taks world shook.From out of the sands rose a magnificent dungeon,black as night against the stark white backdrop.


Tak felt a sharp rap against his forehead as he squinted up at the monolith,his eyes fluttered open as another rap hit his head and the image gently melted away like boar fat on a hot skillet. The fanalis had been dreaming of capturing a dungeon again,or was it a nightmare?.


this time fully awake, the filtered light of the late afternoon assaulted his eyes as mrs Fennel did likewise to his forehead via her knobby wooden cane


"Get up you slacker,haven't you got some work to do?!"


The elderly shopkeeper demanded in a shrill voice before Tak yawned waving his hands innocently and slowly rising to his feet with a slight smirk


"Alright alright mrs Fennel,you'll put my eye out with that thing heh"


Don't you Mrs Fennel me yah sleepy beast  


Tak scooped up his travel bag and sword before taking one last swig of beer despite the fly that had fallen into its golden waters.


"Thanks for letting me stay the night mrs Fennel,and if those bandits come by again you stick em just like i showed yah"


Tak flowed out the small shopkeepers store amid a steam of swearsand into the streets of Balbadd, not able to burn the dream out of his mind.Not even sure that he even wanted to,failing to see what it all meant the young man sighed heading for the port of the city hands behind his head casually

“Oh well,nothing a little training in the tropics cant fix”

blade:Made of an organic black steel inlaid with gold that is said to only be found in the dark country


Hilt:made of triple folded black steel and technically the strongest part of the blade

Appearance: The Jade dragon Sword is an extravagant looking weapon that is more hilt than blade,the black steel hilt notably being longer than the blade at 38 cm in length by 10 cm wide and is painted jade green with a serpentine like raised grip texture.Two red ruby shards crests the end of the hilt which is molded into a fearsome dragon head with the ruby as its featured eyes.


The Hilt is very dynamic and features multiple different grip options to master as well as a loop to easily spin the weapon on ones finger.note that the hilt is stronger than the blade,features a hand guard and can parry weapons just as effectively as the blade itself


the remaining blade portion is at 35 cm long by 10 cm wide black steel inlaid with gold and sharpened to a lopsided point so that it is both able to stab and slash.
