A gust of cold wind blew the smoke-coloured leaves down the alleyways, through the shattered windows which belonged to houses newly abandoned, shards of glass covering the empty eyes of every wrecked home. Doors hung on to their loose hinges and groaned with despair at every sway; one of them was in particular disrepair, but a purple-haired woman ventured through it despite this. She carefully pushed aside the broken door, ducking under the splinters that erupted from the bent door frame, and sat down at a makeshift which did not fit with the rest of the area’s decor. Hearing her footsteps into this building, a man dressed in a bartender’s garb ambled over to her table; his usually lively eyes were overtaken by purple bags, while his charming smile had lost its warmth.

‘What would you like to order, Tiger…’ He attempted to crack a joke with a smile as weak as the black coffee he used to make. Zubaidah’s eyes watered as she looked upon the ruin of a man that Huijin had become and brought him into a tight embrace. ‘Oh, Lion, why did this have to happen to you and your bar… I’m just so sorry that I couldn’t help, I wasn’t strong enough…’ Huijin wiped a stray tear from her cheek and looked at her dead-on, a strange expression of pride in his eyes. ‘This is not your fault, Zubaidah. Do not blame yourself at all for this, it’s so very unlike you - and completely untrue. Now, dry those tears, I didn’t let you use the bar just for us to cry, did I. You have a meeting with someone, do you not?’ His genuine smile melted to the tears in Zubaidah’s eyes, and returned her back to her usual self. ‘If that’s the case, I advise you are not here when he arrives. He is known to be intense, and I do not know what he thinks of those who know too much of his plans.’ Huijin nodded in agreement and wandered to the back entrance; but as he reached the fractured doorway, he stopped but did not turn back to her. Rather, as a single crystal-clear tear fell from his mournful eyes unbeknownst to Zubaidah, he gave a single request to her:

    ‘Come back once you’re done.’

There was nothing more than a bit of a rumor that Lagi heard about, so nothing to do with the bar that he last met Zuzu at. He wasn't too sure what happened there, but it seemed to Lagi that the owner of the place managed to run into a little bit of trouble. He was alive, but what bothered Lagi was the fact that things like this can deter Zuzu from doing what was needed to be done. In the world that they now lived in, it was apart of the sad choices that they made for the sake of getting ahead in life, the collateral damage that mostly occurs tends to hit you where it hurts.

"Maybe I should do something?"

He said this as he used Viper's fang and increased the poison dosage.

A little later, Lagi would arrive at the place with a few of the dark hand members. Zuzu was preparing for her own stuff from the last time Lagi saw her, he only provided the resources, muscle, and possible mentorship with her choices. Anything else was mostly her show, with the fact that she also chose to take the slaves under her wing with pure kindness and compassion towards them. Lagi had no qualms about that, he only hoped that her soft heart won't be broken by the tough choices ahead of her.

"Greetings and salutations, Requiem Jynx has arrived."

If there was one thing that the pair wasn't used to, it was the black skull Requiem Jynx mask that was attached to Lagi's head. With Orie being apart of the mask for it to creep up on Lagi's face at any given time, it became the new signature look for Lagi. On top of that, he did use the face changing potion a few weeks ago as well, so the only thing that would be recognizable if they could see was the chest heart tattoo.

Seeing the damage done to the bar, Lagi would whistle.

"Wow, whoever did this probably wanted to make a statement, think they were onto us or something?"

Whistling as he twirled, the Dark hand members spread about the bar, being somewhat of a guard.

"I decided to invest in this place by having it sell El Ragu exclusively. I was mostly doing the military drug pills due to the fact that the war was going to allow it sell like hotcakes, but this bar being the first of a select handful to sell a valuable and popular product opens doors for the man. Long story short, The dark hand would have an invested interest in making sure this place is still standing in Kou with less trouble. If that friend of yours agrees to this, that's an immediate extra bouns sign for this place to be repaired before the week is over. "

Lagi then sat down at the head of the bartending space, prompting Zuzu to sit next to him. He was showing compassion in his own way, it's just that for a lot of the things that he "Wants" to do, it had to be masked with the intent of possibly doing something else for the sake of gaining something else. He needed the reason to protect him if he was going to do so. On top of that, overhearing everything with his superior hearing of danger sense, he felt it was a good idea to offer.

"So, besides all of that. What's the plan? How have you been? I almost thought you would have second thoughts and split town. "

As she sat upon a varnished wooden stool, a remnant of this bar’s old glory, sipping a earthen flask filled to the brim with fiery whisky - a parting gift from the man with the hair like a lion’s mane. Full with this liquid courage, she swallowed this unfamiliar feeling of sadness and welcomed the masked figure with her character lasciviousness, her crimson lips smirking at the man as he remarked upon her uncharacteristic loss of faith in her aims. With a gentle wave of her porcelain hand, she beckoned him over and upon his arrival, she flicked him lightly on the forehead,

‘How cheeky! I would never do such a thing as abandon my own revenge part way through, I am a lady of culture who finishes what she starts. I doubt you honestly had lost faith in me staying here, though, otherwise you would not have made your way out here on a whim such as that. You knew that I would not back down, despite this grievous situation that has occurred, I still have the same confidence as before.’

Taking Lagi’s invitation, she softly shuffled over next to him and bent over the bartender’s counter to fish around for a refreshing drink she could offer him, her delicate hand grasping a familiar bottle - some of his own alcohol, El Ragu. An amused expression twisted her mouth into a smile, as she tossed the branded drink to him.

‘There must be some divine irony at work with this, that a bottle such as this should be the one that would start and finish our journey together, my good Jynx. But enough with these extended pleasantries, our business is much overdue to be discussed.’ Rummaging about in her glossy leather satchel, she retrieved a bundle of ink-stained documents, scratched with lines - maps drawn with the expert hand of a cartographer. ‘These contain some of the most accurate information in our target’s location, according to our source. The resources which our investigative group has gathered is definitely paying off on account of money invested there. Sadly, we will be unable to extract anything more from that despicable Biming. I doubt his jaw is in the shape to be used...’ Her smile took on a darker shadow for a moment, before quickly dissipating, as she demonstrated an area where all of the black lines seemed to indicate a certain space.

‘Our resident cartographers are sure that this must be the area here, which has been confirmed by multiple sources. However, of course, it is guarded by an irritating amount of mercenaries, and so I have called upon your organisation to help. I wish for your connections to escort us there and ensure our safety into the premises. I am sure you could’ve doing it by yourself, but I need you to be in as good a shape as possible - we cannot allow an ambush to even scratch you. I’m sure you understand my precautions.

Seeing that Zuzu had everything drawn up, the only thing left for Lagi to do in this case was following along. It was a likely act of tightening up security for the sake of maintaining an individual's wealth or valuables, what they probably considered precious to them was worth the bodies that were placed in the area. Of course, Zuzu's revenge came at a top priority, with robbing them coming second.

"So this is the area huh? Am I guessing you already scouted the place and knew about the security there already? For you to call me with the intent of using my power to break through, the only thing really left to do is just that, right?"
Taking a sip of some El Ragu, Lagi would wipe some of the drips from of his mouth as he looked at the write up that Zuzu had placed for Lagi to use as a form of information.

"I can get you in, with our weapons possibly smuggled in as well. They might leave us alone for a while if we look unarmed, especially if it's all set up as a trade meeting."

Lagi would say this as he sustained viper's fang and made some more poison with a high-end dosage.

Zubaidah’s snarky expression faded into a dark grimace as she listened to Lagi’s proposition, a displeased look in her steely gaze.

‘That is surprisingly naive of you, Milord. Are you honestly of the belief that this organisation which manages to track down even branches of the Hand hidden in the farthest corners of Heliohapt would not know of our affairs here in their home country of Kou? They have managed to alter the events of cities and have a reach that extends over the major trade routes and, if I were to guess, influence over local governments. Surely you would have guessed that they already had men after us? I thought that those threatening-looking men of yours were to deal with those impolite intruders that have been circling establishment since you arrived!’

In response to this acknowledgement of their presence, from each door and from each window emerged a figure wearing a mask, cloaked in black. In an instance, they had formed an impenetrable circle connected by razor-sharp blades. Zubaidah made no attempt to retrieve her spear which was hidden behind the counter, but rather dropped onto her good knee and hung her head low, as if in defeat, and offered her surrender.

‘While it may hurt my pride to admit such a thing - I must say that we are most definitely outnumbered here. I ask that I am spared here, for I was only an informant, that man with the creepy-looking mask is the guilty party!’ With a subtle wink to Lagi, she added, ‘Do what you like with him, I’m not too bothered as long as none of my hairs are touched - it takes quite the treatment to get this signature bounce, and it cost quite the amount of huang.’

Tuning in to her response to Lagi's arrangement was somewhat offensive, he, in any event, imagined that it was an entirely smart thought. Why did Zuzu think of it so differently? Perhaps it was the fact that the stealth approach from when Lagi used to be in the unity corps continued to gnaw at him, it was as if there were a multitude of persona's that were biting for control. Even at the core of it all, the silent voice continued to whisper its desires in Lagi's ears. It was almost maddening, there was never a time he couldn't hear it.

"You shouldn't underestimate the power of the dark hand, let alone my own. I have no real desire to play a game of tug of war with this frivolous organization that you are in odds with, but my movements are more or less like a viper's fang. Much like this poison...."
Lagi would continue to mix his poison of viper's fang throughout the conversation, still keeping the high dosage. " With one bite ...we should.....wait.... we're being surrounded right now?"

That was the sounds he was hearing with his danger sense? Lagi could have sworn that it was patrons that were trying to enter the bar but discouraged themselves at the last minute, he didn't think that they would dare attack here for a second time with people actually being there to fight back.

The figures wearing the mask were met by the members of the dark hand drawing sharpened blades of their own, moving closer to Lagi and Zuzu for the sake of protecting their boss.  Zuzu spoke some more about how they were being outnumbered for the time being, and that was only because Lagi didn't start getting to work as of yet.

"Sigh..."

Raising up the el ragu container and bringing down it in one go, the dark cover sedate ruler would put his head back with a sharp burp as he broke the glass against the bar rack. "Figure you heard the woman, yet I'm not a simple slaughter!" All things considered, Lagi rapidly tossed the broken glass shrapnel toward one of the covered aggressors with A rank rates and quality, crushing through the veil and piercing the skull. It was a startling move from an out of the blue solid individual, however that rough assertion of obstruction was all that could possibly be needed to cause a fight amongst Lagi and his men, and the veiled aggressors. Zuzu from the most part was disregarded at the time being, presumably to be caught and grilled later. When they were done, Zuzu's body may be found at the base of a stream, yet Lagi wouldn't let anything happen to her.

The activity was going on in seconds with Lagi's noteworthy speed and quality being one of the defining moments of the fight. They were being chopped down with each stroke of Lagi's  duality sickle, arm's and legs were executed with the quick strokes that originated from the man. Four Kunai were likewise tossed in the ways of adversaries that Lagi couldn't get to, bailing his men out with coordinated headshots of B rank kunai tossed at A rank velocities, hitting crucial organs and diverting sufficiently then to be chopped down. Amidst the battle, there were two master professional killers that appeared to deal with themselves quite well, really prevailing in mortally injuring a portion of Lagi's sidekicks.

"Son of a...."

He went over to engage them quickly as they both used lightning step in order to show off their own speed in order to catch  Lagi off guard. One of them tried to combine that with lightning strike in order to aim for the neck as the other one was avoiding projectiles being thrown at him. But little did they know, the path of the assassin was also something that Lagi followed, as well as tracking the steps of his opponent with his danger sense. As Lagi utilized his nameless walk, he quickly flowed out of the way of the attack towards him from the exert's attack, bringing down his elegian gauntlet's molten fist through the back of the Assassin to deal A rank lava damage and mercilessly burn through the body.

"Ahhhhh!!!"

The charred and dying screams of the man were somewhat of a desparingly induced spectacle, he was literally as Lagi's arm went through his chest. As the life started to leave the man's body, Lagi waved it around as a joke.

"You wanted this right?! Isn't this what you want?!"

The ferociousness of the dark hand lieutenant was quite intimidating, even distracting the other expert for a while.

As she kept her guise of surrender up, plastered onto her face was a thin smile that was hidden from view as she listened to the merciless slaughter that was instigated by her request for the assassins to attempt to fight against the unstoppable beast that was Lagi. A bloodbath of unfathomable speed had begun, with the pair of masked assassins darting among the accomplices of Lagi, hitmen affiliated with the Hand, targeting their vital points - but the situation turned to for the worse when they turned their attention to the great bull which was awaiting their move. It was no surprise that, when unleashed from his chain of resignation, they stood no chance against Lagi. With savage timing and brute strength, he punctured organ walls and pierced through bone to leave a warm body on the floor spilling crimson from a gaping hole in their chest, with their companion thoroughly defeated and in no shape to retaliate.

Seeing Lagi’s armoured fist draw back a second time in preparation to obliterate this other figure, Zubaidah quickly sprung to her feet, seizing and swinging the barstool behind her into each side of the second assassin, winding him severely with two bouts of C tier damage. She did not finish there, but rather swung the barstool once more, this time into the path of Lagi’s fist - not with the thought of physically stopping him, but to warn him that he had done enough and that anymore would not be useful. Discarding the barstool so she could straddle the now unarmed assassin, she covertly removed their mask, shielding their identity from Lagi and his men with her body, to reveal a young boy who had scarlet tears welling in his anger-filled eyes. He seemed as though he was about to protest against this rough treatment or utter some coarse insult against them, but Zubaidah ensured he did not do so by stuffing his mouth with spare cloths. Yet instead of harming him, she whispered a word, to which there was a begrudged nod in reply, before taking the cloths out from his mouth and fixing the mask back to his face. She slapped his pert arse as he scrambled onto his bloodied feet, before declaring he would be their way into the heavily-guarded compound of their target, winking in reply to the confused expression on Lagi’s face.

Unfortunately, I'm running on quite the timetable, so I have no real time to play nice with these people. Lagi would say as he swiftly moved over to the last assassin and kicked one of his legs out with his superior A rank strength. The leg would have easily been shattered as the man went to the floor, screaming in agony in response to what Lagi had done. He probably thought it would have been over once Zuzu tried to use him as a bargaining chip, but it wasn't over.

"There is no telling on whether this person would betray us or not, so it's a lot easy to for us to make sure our point comes across when it comes to "beneficial relationships" like these." With the man weeping in pain while holding the shattered leg, the blood from the blow and possibly ripped flesh from the bone of his leg piercing outwards had caused a bit of a leak from where he laid. In the meantime, Lagi started to mix up some poison with his viper's fang as he taunted the man with it, increasing the dosage. "Know what this is? It's poison. I basically have enough to kill everyone in this room, imagine how many of those dosages your body can take at once? Do you want to play that game? If you live, well, I'll be impressed enough to let you go. But if you don't want to risk it, you have to understand that your life is meaningless unless you can provide results. You will answer all the questions, and you will provide all kinds of information. For every lie or dishonest quote, a piece of you comes off, which you will be forced to eat. Do you understand me?"

A twisted giggle followed the young boy that Zubaidah had just brutally humiliated in more ways than she truly realised. But that was merely done as a playful joke, not with actual malicious intent, which contrasted with the horrifying display that she was met with from the masked Lagi.

*Crack.* That was not the sound of a porcelain hand playfully hitting the firm behind of a boy. A sharp release of shrill air, that attempted to escape as a pained scream, faltered to become a mere gasp. A formerly luminous red that had shone brightly within arrogant eyes seceded into a blank slate of white. A jagged object with an ivory colour erupted from a crimson pool midway down a broken leg. That was the sound of a limb being irreparably severed. *Crack.*

While Lagi ferociously taunted this tormented soul, further inflicting pain in both body and mind, Zubaidah tried to resist her urge to let loose the rising bile whose acidic bite cut her throat, inducing tears to well in her burning eyes, hanging her head low to the scarlet-soaked floor. As she had many times with this fierce beast of a man, she slowly slipped under her well-practised mask of a woman who was unfazed by this brutality, but she faltered as she held the chipped facade to her features. With a burning sensation overtaking her calm mind that tried to subdue her emotions swelling within her, to replace it with the robotic and logical mentality she had expressed in times like this, she roared in opposition and shouted through her veil of partial consciousness,

‘You disgust me, Jynx! Why must you torture this man past the injuries you have already dealt him? The objective we sought to obtain has already been acquired through that one I subdued only a moment back! So why do you threaten this man who has already failed in his mission? The damage we have given him is already a permanent mark upon his body!’

‘I do not care if this man is the one whose dagger takes my life, for I have an idea of chivalry that you shall never understand… Nay, you knew of such compassion in a life you left behind. For whatever reason, you have discarded any sense of morality you might have had by hiding behind your dull masks and cowardly disguises. You no longer have a consistent persona because you rejected the person who you used to be and tried to fill that hole by pretending to be someone you are not…’

‘You pretend to be a monster.’

Lagi couldn't believe what he was hearing, or better yet, he thought his ears were betraying his mind. For a minute, he thought that Zuzu actually got around to having the balls to criticize them about an action he took when she did absolutely nothing to promise no sort of guarantee from the other individual. It was just words, that was all she had, and it was nothing to go by.

"You have quite the nerve to be talking to me like that when all of this has everything to do with you and for the sake of revenge. The [people who he works for, caused you all of the grief that you've been experiencing throughout your life, and now that you are given the chance to rectify the wrongfulness that was done to you in the past, you criticize me for doing what i HAVE to do in order to get it done? Really now?!"

Lagi Looked at Zuzu dead in the eye, this was no laughing matter.

"Regardless of any of your goals, revenge is obviously one of them Zuzu, revenge! Will you ever be satisfied with just this? Would you have liked to let him go? Crawl out of here with any sort of promise he needed to make to you to leave with his life and then go against that? We have nothing here, we definitely have no leverage for any sort of promise to be ensured, but what you have through me is POWER! This is power, the power that I cultivated throughout the years, bled for, cried for, suffered for, nearly died for, to use at my leisure for the sake of a destiny that may or may not even exist for myself. YES! USING THIS POWER IS A RIGHT! I used it in the name of friendship, the friendship I "thought we had". ..... and yet you think I'm too dumb to see that you were using me, even now?"

Rolling his eyes, Lagi would walk away.

"Do with him what you will, I'm sure he will agree to everything with how serious I am. You are the only reason why he's still alive, all this does is proves it. I'll leave a few men behind in case they get curious or bold. And one more thing.....if I lost sight of who I was, you would have died in the sky that day, or maybe survived the fall and would have gotten eaten by the beasts of that jungle. But thank you for showing where we stand now, maybe you are right? I should just choose....and go all the way."

With that, Lagi made his exit.
