New book, who dis? [Zadi/Social/Closed]

Sitting at a desk in a small cabin-esque room, Dylan Peak had opened up both of his journey books. He was familiar with the clairvoyant nature of these magic items. They were used to communicate with people from far away distances. The man he had robbed had not just one of these, but two. He must have been quite friendly with people as well as quite powerful and wealthy. These magic items were nothing to scoff at, but now he had access to them. Dylan would have to use some tact and cunning to make the transfer of these books as official as possible, without arousing suspicions of their friends death.

Dylan's little corner desk had stationery as well as many inks and books of reference. His scythe was propped up in the corner of the room as he dipped his quill pen on his tongue then into a tub of ink.

"How are things going?"

A vague question, he now had to determine the relationship between the previous owner and the person with the other side of the book, and then he would have to make the transfer to himself as inconspicuous as possible. Worst comes to worst, if Dylan found no use for these people, he could simply return the books to the owners.

Resting in an undisclosed location, Zadi checked his Journey Books for any messages, specifically Farid's linked book. Farid hasn't communicated with Zadi for the longest time, concerning the blonde warrior. Farid was a strong and capable human being, so him not being around anymore would put quite the dent in the group's potential activities. Thankfully, a message did come through, but an odd message considering the messages sent previously. There must have been some communication issues between the books because Farid responded with a question rather than an answer.

Why is he asking that? Is he being sarcastic? Hm...messages disappear from a Journey Book after some time, but could Farid really not have opened his book until now? Strange, to say the least.

Zadi decided to respond as if nothing was fishy about Farid's response to Zadi's inquiry about joining the Kou Civil War. The message could have been lost or simply vanished before Farid had a chance to read and respond. If that was the case, then perhaps Farid asking "How are things going?" wouldn't be so out of place.

I'm still alive and breathing if that's what you mean. The group has already convened and decided to help Gao Yuan Zu's efforts to reclaim his country. We could use your help considering Yoshiro's growing influence. However, you aren't obligated to help one side or another. Feel free to do what you will, but I would like a response as soon as possible.

-Zadi

Zadi wrote a mouthful but he really wanted a response from Farid. His presence in the war could help Gao Yuan Zu gain more influence, especially considering Farid's skills. Granted, one person doesn't make much of a difference in the end. Perhaps Zadi was simply worried, for whatever reason.

Dylan would take a look at the other book for a moment, wondering if they were possibly a pair, but it was evident that these each were connected to other people. It would be quite some time, but he had received a message.

The magician would take his time understanding exactly and not in a rush to reply with a message. The redhead managed to make out that the previous owner was part of some group that happened to be just down his ally. Dylan had decided to help both factions, trying to support the weaker faction as much as possible. Now that Yoshiro's troops had rallied, it would be perfect for Dylan to take the time to support Gao Yuan officially. This would also be great for Jingyi. The writing from the ally was also not completely formal which means he could also be a bit more casual.

A group that was trying to ally themselves with Gao Yun. How convenient. Within the hour, Dylan grabbed his pen and jotted down some more stuff.

"Ah, how convenient, I've already done some work for Gao Yuan. We'll have to collaborate further. The tide of the war has turned quickly." Dylan wasn't going to mention that he was playing both sides, but he also had to make one more thing to secure himself. "I go by a new alias now, Dylan Peak."

Farid is stranger than I thought. Is he undercover for some reason? Or was he undercover beforehand? Or maybe he's a con man which would explain his merchant knowledge. Hm, whatever, at least he'll help out.

Farid's message was weird, to say the least. A different alias? Why? Odd turn of events and Zadi couldn't tell what was really going on, so the blonde warrior just kept cool and made the most logical conclusion; Farid Issah simply didn't get Zadi's previous messages because he was busy with something related to his change in alias. Not the simplest explanation, but the simplest explanation would mean Farid isn't well and his book was stolen, too. Well, if Zadi and Farid ever met again, the blonde warrior could just use his clairvoyance ring. Zadi replied back believing he was writing to Farid.

Convenient indeed. Anyway, I'm busy right now, we'll have to met up with the rest of the group later. If you know any promising individuals, feel free to consider inviting them to the group's next meeting. Until then, stay safe.

Dylan breathed a sigh of relief, it had seemed as if everything was going according to plan. He was content and he had even gotten another piece of the puzzle. This man was named Zadi, there was a group and he was allowed to bring people in. Jingyi would be a good candidate but he wasn't sure exactly what the group was for, but their current goals were aligned with his own.

He would leave the book alone for now, but he was happy with the results of the communication. Assuming further communication would be detailed once more information about the meeting was revealed.
