Lagi decided to  go about mingling with the rest of the guests. It was his duty to make sure that he didn’t show any kind of weakness during the party, event though it would be seen as a front to most. “Alright, I guess I have a lot of work ahead of me. “Lagi would say in his mind as he continued to devote most of his time to  his guests, asking if there was anything wrong and making sure that they were properly accommodated. It was hard work for the king, this ball room served as a battlefield with his opponents being the other royals from other countries. Even though he was treated as a proxy, he was still the king of Reim. He wanted people to know that his ambition and aspirations for his country overtook the mere title that Kou bestowed upon him to belittle his importance. Lagi was important, even more than they think he is.

After listening in on Yakuroro's discussion, Liber wasn't sure what to think. Much of it was about things the fanalis would never fully understand as the rukh were a mystery and invisible to those of his kind. But he did understand the implications of what Yakuroro was saying about King Lagi being a potentially dangerous element. The Imuchakk was walking a fine line between rebellion and justice. This meant that he had quite the resolve in regards to facing down Lagi El Nagi, perhaps Liber would put some money down on the match should it ever come to fruition. Such ponderings would have to wait for another time though. Yakuroro emerged and noticed Liber whom didn't even try to act like he hadn't been eavesdropping. Instead, he gave Yakuroro a smirk which dared him to do something about it here in this public place without a staff on hand.

When the Imuchakk took his leave, Liber sighed and headed off into the crowds where he would try to listen in on more conversations of nobles and ambassadors. When chaos began erupting elsewhere, Liber would take notice that something was up. If only due to his close observation of the ball security. But he didn't want to get wrapped up in any scandals or suspected for crimes he did not commit, so instead Liber pretended not to notice and continued his subtle surveillance. After a while, Liber made his way over to the place where most of the publicly accessible alcohol was at and began fixing himself a single drink to numb the disappointment of having failed to learn of anything interesting after Yakuroro's departure.

Adius hefted his sister up as her eyes began to flutter down, more than used to her sleepy antics while intoxicated. He looked to Ayero with a chuckle.

"I hope you don't mind, but I am just going to take her back to her room. She is useless at this point and I don't want her here with a killer on the loose. Will you be safe?"

If she assured him she would be fine, he would then leave the room with Ari tossed over his shoulder, pausing briefly at the room his father and other men were in to let them know where he was headed.

Adamus gave his son a brief nod, trusting his son to protect his daughter, even with her slung over his shoulder. When Iatsu addressed him to ask where his wife was, he frowned. He had not seen her since the commotion started, but they often came to events together and left separately. It was entirely possible she was out visiting with people or back at their room getting rest.

"That is a good question. I will check the ball room for her and return promptly."

He tried to ignore the twist of concern in his gut as he went in search of his wife.

Nodding in affirmation to Adius, she too laughs softly. She was a bit glad that Ari seemed to drift off to sleep seeing as how the girl had a rather long and jarring day…at least now she could rest peacefully (hopefully).

”I’ll be alright. I’m going to head back to the ballroom, but I think that the night will be ending for me shortly as well. Safe journey, you two. I’ll try to stop by in the morning and check on Ariella.”

Retracing her steps back to the ballroom, Ayero recounts the night’s events to herself. Things had started off fine, but she couldn’t help but get an ominous feeling from what had gone on upstairs. It was no wonder, considering that two people had died but for Ariella to be as shaken as she was, the circumstances must have been particularly grisly. Shaking her head, the Fanalis woman tries to forget the whirlwind of events. She had both seen and dealt her fair share of death, but it was never pleasant and was always avoided if necessary. Figuring that the best thing to do would be to sleep this party off, the young woman makes her way toward the exit before a familiar head of red hair catches her eye.

Curious to see another Fanalis in attendance, she makes her way over to the man, recognizing him as she drew closer. ”Liber? I didn’t know that you’d be attending the ball as well.” She addresses him before her eyes sweep downward to the table, noticing that it was stocked well with alcohol. Thinking that she could use a drink to help ward away her less than savory thoughts, she pours herself a glass of wine and downs the contents embarrassingly quickly. But that doesn’t stop her from refilling her glass once more and retaining her grip on the bottle of wine.

Watching the wine pour into his cup with a slightly bored expression, Liber found himself trying to count the ripples as they splashed around inside the glass. Even with the kinetic vision of an assassin it was a futile attempt, but trying impossible feats was a decent enough distraction from the lack of intel on Kou to be had. Setting the wine bottle down, Liber let out a yawn before bringing silver cup to lip for a small sip that let him savor the wines flavor against his delicate taste buds. "Mmm..." The fanalis found the flavor favorable and turned away from the table just in time to see Ayero headed his way. The fanalis man was about to try slipping away before he was noticed, but it was too late for that. His eyes met her own and he was spotted.

Liber simply wished not to be a damper on the woman's evening, he did not wish to offend her by slipping away when she'd clearly recognized him. So the assassin remained where he stood and greeted the young woman with a smile and a light bow of his head. "Good evening Ayero. I'm not sure why I came here myself. I've just been a shadow on the wall the whole night...at least the wine is good." He replied, raising his glass and gesturing to Ayero.

The man rose an eyebrow as he watched his fellow fanalis down and entire glass to herself in one go only to keep a firm claiming grasp upon the bottle she'd poured it from. "Been an eventful night I take it?" He said noting that the direction she'd come from seemed to be where much of the guard movement had been headed towards not too long ago. Liber didn't know for sure, but he guessed that she had bore witness to whatever had taken place to get the ball security buzzing around like so many annoying flies.

She grunts in response to his explanation while pouring the second glass down her throat, suddenly feeling far less lady-like and finding the dress she wore far more uncomfortable. She raises a brow when she lowers her glass, finding his answer a bit odd. Who just shows up to an expensive party without a reason? Then again, she couldn’t be sure that the other Fanalis didn’t have a fortune stashed away somewhere. After realizing that she really didn’t know much about Liber besides his battle ability, the woman pushes his reasoning for attending the ball into the back of her mind. She didn’t need something else to worry her tonight.

”Mhm.” She affirms with her lips lingering on the glass before filling it up once more. Ayero had a suspicion that if she were not at a fancy party, she’d forego the glass entirely in favor of just drinking straight from the bottle. She exchanged words with Liber for a short while, polishing off the bottle and becoming staggeringly inebriated rather quickly. It wasn’t that hard to tell when the woman had too much to drink as her normally neutral face was plastered with an ever present grin and her movements became more unstable.

Even had she not replied, Liber could tell from the way she was drowning herself in wine that Ayero had indeed had a long night so far. The fanalis male was tempted to make an excuse to make a swift exit at first, but his compassion got the better of him and he lingered to grant Ayero familiar company in hopes to help take the edge off in a manner that was better than alcoholic overdose. Unfortunately, even with his presence, the woman was still quenching an insatiable thirst for inebriation. It wasn't long after exchanging words that Liber got to witness her gradual descent into a plastered posture, face awash with drunken bliss. With a sigh, the young man offered to take her home no longer finding the woman in any shape to leave the party by herself. Spying and eavesdropping had been fruitless anyways save for the brief spill of information Liber had snatched from Yakuroro. Giving up on any further espionage, Liber offered Ayero a shoulder and tried to take the bottle from her. After failing at the latter, he simply began to task of escorting Ayero back to her inn.
