Job:

In the horse drawn carriage sat Angelus with his fiancé. It was the end of the rather long day. It had been four days since he had made his debut with his Angelist Party. It brought plenty of fame to Angelus, not just to Angelus, but his new support base whom had resonated with his message. However, with that sort of fame, and with what Angelus was trying to do, there were to be those who opposed his message. If he managed to gain power, that would spell bad news for the Republican faction that has long dictated the policies of Reim. It meant the decline of the puppets of the Council. If the Council was proactive, they were to try to do a better job than Angelus was doing for the nation. However, they were failing. So, truth be told, Angelus was expecting some other entity loyal to the Council/Republican faction to come for him, but did not expect the Council.

In this carriage, Sabina was to lie her head upon Angelus' lap. It felt rather odd, to have this woman he felt no love for just resting her head upon his lap. It was nothing for him to pay too much mind to though. If he was to view outside his carriage window, he could notice the trees had begun to change from just a week prior. Spring was nigh. Yet, right when he had decided to take a peek out his window, he was to have heard a loud snap of a twig. It was quite loud and audible, but he was to dismiss the noise as being from an animal very likely. It was nothing to be concerned of. However, the new political leader did need to be careful. It would be foolish to think nobody would come for him. It was certainly plausible. If he thought himself to be untouchable, he could very well find himself at death's door. Anyhow, the pair were coming to the Cornelius estate now. It was a long day, and the two needed much needed rest.

Angelus had now made his return to the estate. It was to eventually be his own. However, for now, the estate and manor belonged to his fiancé. How foolish the man felt for wanting to wed the woman, even just for political gain. At his bedside was to lie his bag, sword, and shield. It was necessary for protection. Otherwise, he may not be prepared for whoever or whatever may come for him. Angelus had sat by the end of his bed, pondering. It was not of Reim or the events which had occurred which he had pondered upon, no, rather, what he had his mind on was that certain someone. It was a person he felt was special to him. In fact, there were two others he had felt close to, but there was her, that girl, and when Angelus was too far from her, he could not help but feel pain. In truth, Angelus had fallen for her, the one person he ever felt a bond with.

It tore him apart that he did not and could not act upon his true feelings. Nerilla was the young woman's name. However, she was a ranger soldier for him, his lieutenant. It was folly to fall for the girl. Angelus did not realize his feelings, but they existed. No matter what he did, he could not let go of her face. If he could, Angelus would choose to not have those feelings, so he could live not by emotion, but by logic. Yet, over time, Angelus was to only feel more with his emotions, and less with logic. It was what Angelus had hoped to steer clear from.

However, the truth of the matter was that Nerilla, Aureus, Alceus, every single one of them, were Angelus' first true friends. In the military, people from every background came together, to fight, to share meals, to live. Angelus had a longing to reunite with his dear friends. It had partly felt like his dream no longer mattered to him. If he could be by their side, perhaps he could feel happy. As a kid, he never could obtain friends. It had felt like most were terrified of him.

It felt so tormenting to sit by his lone self, so he resorted to training, to trying to obtain some sort of pride from his strength. It fed his ego when that training paid off. Angelus had lived by his ego from then on. Yet, the trauma of being lonely never subsided. It persisted on. Devoid of his parents' love from to them not being there, he did not and could not experience true love, true care. Angelus could tell though that what this woman, his fiancé, felt for him, was not love. It was veneration.

Sabina: "Dear, are you prepared for bed now?"

Inquired the noblewoman, garbed within a nightgown.

Angelus: "Ah, yeah.. I was just lost within thought.."

At the behest of the noblewoman, he was to decide to lie down. In bed, he was to begin to doze off for the night. If one was to stare out the pink hued windowpane, they may notice blurs flash by. However, with the slumbering Angelus rather exhausted, the man could not have noticed that blur which sped past his window. It was to the benefit of the hitman that Angelus was quite tired from the long day. Yet, that did not mean the man was totally vulnerable. In the manor, he made sure to have guards placed within strategic positions. If one guard was slain, then one other guard hiding out within an undisclosed location was to notify the others. If the hitman were smart and skilled, they may be capable of reaching past the first two layers of guards, but not the last two. It played out just how the gifted soldier, Angelus, wished. Nobody could escape Angelus' genius.

By the time the hitmen had got to the last two layers, Angelus knew they were here. It was from a knock on his door that he had found out there were hitmen here for him. Yet, he could realize that the knock was not the usual knock. On the contrary, the knock was quite unusual. It may perhaps be that there was a hitman that had used the other hitmen as bait. However, from behind the door, Angelus was to hear the voice of a guard he knew. Ah, so that was what the hitman was doing? Angelus understood now. It was then that Angelus was to grab his shield with his sword. It was now just for him to open the door, to greet the visitor that had come for him. Upon opening the door, Angelus was to hold his shield up, flashing the hitman with the fuction, Blinding Sheen, the moment he tried to lunge at his target.

Angelus: "Hmph.. Nice try."

Whispered the graceful legionnaire, his blood drenched blade sinking deep into the chest of the astonished hitman. Oh, how pathetic that man's try to slay Angelus was. It could have succeeded. However, the soldier was perhaps too cunning for his own good. It was to take far more than just merely that to bring him, Angelus, down. If he did not have enough on his plate, he now had to deal with silly hitmen, but that mattered not, for he was to come out the victor over his foes. Once the hitman had been slain, Angelus was to proceed onwards to the hallways where the guards may be in combat with the other hitmen. Upon coming to the hallways, his foes numbering three were to come for him. It was clear to them that their comrade was eliminated. Angelus only had to capture one.

If like he was meat, two of the hitmen darted for him. It made this far much easier then. If they came for him, then Angelus just had to ensure his defense could slay them within the time to deal with the last one. Instantly, daggers were to be tossed at Angelus' body, trying to put him down, but he was far more prepared than that! It were to be then that he fed his linothorax magoi, casting a function spell to coat his body with protective magoi. It blocked the two daggers, but now the bandits were to vanish, likely trying to close distance to lop Angelus' head off his shoulders.

It was Angelus' play now though. If the men had done more research, perhaps they could have known that Angelus was capable of beheading the two men the second they came within his range. Angelus fed his blade magoi, which caused the blade to disperse, becoming a cloud of bronze and gold. If the men came within Angelus' range, they were to have trouble seeing where the man had gone. It was futile though to find him though! It was Angelus' win! Fool's Gold, his blade, was to reform, but as a longer blade that was to cut within a 2.5m diameter of where he was. Instantly, the men's bodies were to be severed within half! It had caught the hitman.

Once their torsos had fallen, and their blood spilt, their last comrade was to hit the ground running, desperate to escape. However, Angelus was to close the distance with Alba Gressus, catching the last hitman. Angelus put his blade up to the throat of the man, threatening him to reveal who sent them, and where they can be found. If the man could give Angelus the info, then the gracious soldier may let him live, perhaps, or he may just not gruesomely torture him. It was his choice. Upon receiving the whereabouts of who sent the hitmen, the soldier set out!
