Gilles had taken up the sword of an ancient king quite a while back and figured it was finally time to use it to its full capabilities. She knew that at her current level she could draw out the power of the sword, but she was unable to use it in an effective manner. She had recently began to remember her training from when she was trying to become a full-fledged knight for her homeland of Sassan. She was trained in various weapons such as swords, lances and a bow. Yet, she had chosen her own body as her preferred weapon and found swords and the like to be more bothersome than they are worth. Now here she was going back to her roots and training once again to be able to fully use this sword.

There were 3 main schools of swordplay taught in Sassan, Rat, Raven and Lion. Gilles had been taught these but was only really proficient in Rat and Raven due to her smaller and more frail size. However, she had been told of a sword style that her Mother’s family had used, one that was focused on the heavenly bodies that fill the sky, Luna and Sol. She had only heard of the style so she knew she would be unable to perfectly recreate it but she would use it to strengthen herself. There were two subsets of this style, Luna which focused on more dancelike movement and making small, shallow cuts and Sol which was a more abashing and upfront style focusing on more forceful movements of the blade. This style is what she would be working on to warm herself back into the shape and being of a swordswoman.

She would begin by solely working on her body itself. While she was not out of shape she was far from what she needed to be to successfully perform the movements required by the sword. For about two week straight she would work her body into shape. She would run, spar, pushups, etc. This was in no ways going to get her body into perfect shape soon but it would set a routine for her to get into that shape. Once she had finished the initial training she would begin to retrain herself into how to use a sword. This would be difficult due to the fact she was right handed and that just happened to be the hand she has lost in Kou due to the Dragon that protected it. She would start with thrusts, strikes, slashes and parries, the basic movements of the blade. This is the best way for her body to remember the movements of the blade. This was easier on her due to the blade being small and light to fit her body best. This would go on for a week as well in order to get her body on the basic level for she can train the actual sword styles into herself. She would spend a couple more weeks in her free time training the sword movements while she continued to train her physical body, starting to feel the slight hardness that comes from emerging muscles. But now she was able to start training to successfully use the complicated techniques required for Sol and Luna. She was one step closer to her goals now with this training.
