ingyi set up the course for Dullahan, heaving barricades for him to jump and the dummies he would take down. It was all rather simple, but repetition and the changing positions of his obstacles would surely help him. Plus, all the heavy lifting would no doubt help her out too!

It took her an hour, but once she was done, Jingyi stepped back to admire her work. There was a race that Dullahan would have to run through, fully with fences to jump and dummies to knock over. She would time each run, and she expected her beast to grow faster with each passage.

Next would be a group of dummies where he had to take each one down, dealing a certain amount of damage that she would time. Sure, replacing each mannequin that the goat was bound to destroy would be expensive, it was all for the long run.

The final thing was for Dullahan to catch Jingyi herself! Jingyi considered herself to be pretty swift on her feet, and it should be a challenge for her beloved pet to catch her while they raced through the maze, after all. Of course, she would time how long it took them to get through the maze, and if Dullahan even managed to catch her!

"Alright, Dulla~ It's time for your training!" Jingyi announced as she turned to face the less than happy goat. He bleated in her face and stomped his hooves before being ushered to the starting line. The redhead grabbed her notepad and pen as she walked to the end line. Checking to see if she was ready, Jingyi closed her eyes and took a breath before yelling, "Go!"

Dullahan shot off like an arrow, starting to run with all his goatly speed. He dashed through the race, jumping over fences and ramming down any dummy he came across. All in all, he was pretty fast for his level, but it still took him almost fifteen minutes to get the entire course down. Jingyi, of course, was ecstatic at the results, but most of her excitement came from the thought of how much Dullahan was going to grow over the course of their friendship.

Again, Jingyi timed Dullahan as he begun on the next activity. Each time he bucked or rammed into a dummy enough to break its stitchings, Jingyi would call for next and write down his time. At the end of it, he received about twelve minutes.

The third course would be the hardest on the both of them, with Jingyi having to keep track of his time while they raced. But, if she had to guess, he wouldn't be able to catch her and it would take him under fifteen minutes at most.

Setting her notepad down, she stuck the pencil by it and walked to the end line. For their training session, Jingyi was free of any and all armor. She didn't even have her gambeson on! Dullahan was going to race her at the peak of her form, and it was going to be tough on the goat.

Man, did Jingyi enjoy being right about things. While Dullahan managed to get close to her during the beginning of the race, Jingyi with her superior speed, managed to outrun her poor beast. While the jumps certainly slowed her down, it still wasn't enough to allow Dullahan to catch her.

At the end of the course, her beloved beast managed to clear it in 10 minutes, but the big fish was gone. Hopefully next time he would be able of catching her! But enough was enough for one day.

ingyi and Dullahan continued to train for a month, but Jingyi hadn't recorded his times. She didn't want to pressure the beast too much, and instead just focused on developing his abilities. For days, after building up their trust, they would go through the courses. Racing through the maze, defeating the dummies, trying to catch Jingyi. Each time she could get the sense that he was improving, but never enough to actually catch her. But Jingyi was certain that one day, Dullahan would be so fast that he could outrun lightning itself.

Over time, Jingyi added more and more routines that Dullahan would have to go through. All for the betterment of his skills and capabilities. He was her partner in battle, and yes, while she was her tamer, the girl didn't want the goat to get hurt because she was lousy. As their training together progress, activities such as practicing his aim with his static was added, along with aiming his bucks and general ramming. It was all very tough on Dullahan, but Jingyi was sure to keep an eye that she didn't overwhelm him.

She was ecstatic when the beast flourished under her training regime. Each day he got faster. While it was in small bursts, there was still a noticeable difference. He jumped higher, he ran faster, he kicked harder. His lightning would hit closer to bull's eye instead of just the corners, and the dummies would go flying farther whenever he rammed them.

The best part was when Dullahan's confidence in himself begun to rise as well. Most people wouldn't be able to see it, but as a new Beast-Tamer, Jingyi saw the growth in the beast's personality. His body language changed, and Dullahan started to carry himself with an air similar to his master. If it could be said, the goat even begun to become more reserved around others and even loosened up around Jingyi. It was a progress that almost brought tears to the soldier's eyes.

To say that she was swelling up with more pride each and every day would be an understatement. Each time she watched Dullahan run through his courses, the redhead couldn't help but grin on his behalf. She would squeal as his bucks begun to break through wooden walls. The girl would giggle excitedly as any dummy he rammed into was sent flying through the air by meters. Even just seeing him soar over the fences in the maze was capable of making Jingyi grin.

Each day was a notable change in Dullahan, and one for the better. They practiced long, from the moment they entered their training field before noon and all the way till the evening. Of course, they would take breaks here and there, with Dullahan gulping down well-deserved water from a special through just for him.

And the source of Jingyi's pride wasn't just her ability to raise such a great beast, but the beast himself. He was doing far better than Jingyi had expected him to do considering that his owner was a novice Beast Tamer, but to watch him go from just a seed to the beginnings of a legendary oak? It was a feeling that Jingyi hoped she could replicate throughout her career and life.

he day of reckoning had finally rolled around for Dullahan; the morn where Jingyi would test his full capabilities was nigh. Everything was set up once more. Dummies were replaced with less damaged ones; the maze was set up exactly as Jingyi had it during his first run.

Back was her notepad and pencil, along with a clock that Jingyi had lugged down to the training area so she could better time Dullahan. If goats could read, Dullahan would have been capable of understanding the chart that his tamer had scribbled, its purpose to keep track of his accomplishments.

First, Dullahan was put through a series of stretches that would loosen up his muscles and ensure the best performance. He ran laps around the courtyard, Jingyi sprinting alongside him to better encourage her beast. The redhead even stretched her body and cracked her joints in preparation for the "big day".

And then the moment of truth. Once more, Dullahan was stationed at the starting line. His hoof dug at the ground, but the goat carried him with the air of confidence that was passed down from tamer to beast. Jingyi, with her notes in hand and a clock under an arm, walked to the opposite side. She set up her stuff and stood at the end line before shouting, "go!"

The goat immediately took off, dashing with ease through the maze. He soared over the fences that Jingyi had provided him with. A slight graze with his rams sent any and all dummies flying. In his rush to finish with the best time he could get, to make his tamer the proudest she could be of him, Dullahan didn't even realize he crossed the finish line until he heard the excited cheerings from his partner. Digging his hooves into the dirt, Dullahan left a trail, his chest heaving as he turned around to face the redhead in question. The goat couldn't remember a moment when she had looked happier because of him.

The next course of action was to take down the dummies that Jingyi had provided with him. With the all the swagger a goat of his ability could walk with, Dullahan strolled alongside his tamer to his next challenge. Dullahan paused as he regarded all his foes; eight dummies set up in a circle around him. In a pause that could be taken as a moment to think, Dullahan came up with a plan. The goat quickly darted to the left, ramming straight into a foe. He then turned, his speed taking up as the beast ran in a circle. Dummy after dummy was sent flying aside of him as he charged. And with that, the second test was done.

The final and the hardest challenged that Dullahan would have to go through was to race Jingyi and catch her. The thought sent the beast's heart fluttering, dark gaze glancing at the woman in question as she scribbled something down. She moved at speeds far faster than any mount Dullahan has even heard of before, and there was no way she would grow tired. His only chance was to get her down at the beginning of the race.

Jingyi left the clock at the end line, along with her notes and pencil. Again, she lacked her armor and anything that would slow her down in a race. His tamer never went easy on anyone, especially her "students".

Lining up at the starting line, Jingyi wished Dullahan luck, only receiving a snort from him in return. She quickly called for start, and just as Jingyi was about to run, Dullahan shocked her with static. It was a little underhanded, and the goat felt bad about it, but a race was a race. Nor were there any rules against it.

Leaving Jingyi far behind him, Dullahan could hear bursts of laughter as Jingyi tried to chuckle through the paralysis. It was an amusing noise to be heard, but the goat focused on winning the race before she recovered. In the end, his quick thinking to stop Jingyi in her tracks was a smart one, for it finally allowed Dullahan to beat his master.

The resulting moments was an excited holler, followed by laughter and lots of hugging. Dullahan never ever saw his master as proud as she was in that moment, even when it came to events that didn't even concern him in the slightest. Seeing Jingyi so proud, so happy, all because of him and how far he came was a liberating feeling for Dullahan.
