Personality: Farrah is a quiet soul, never one to speak unless it is absolutely necessary to. She spends most of her time on the periphery of social situations, preferring to simply observe or be in close proximation to people rather than engage in whatever social pleasantries people were normally drawn to. It isn’t a quirk Farrah grew into, it wasn’t even borne from a childhood trauma or incident, she has always naturally been an observer--a watcher--a vigilant analyst of the world, keeping keen observation of the world and its eccentricities. If she does get into conversation with someone, she is still quite quiet, often preferring to listen to the individual and offer whatever response she feels is best and most appropriate. Unsurprisingly, people find it hard to converse with her. Still, she is usually everyone’s favorite guest...despite all her lack of social experimentation, she still seems to have a firm grasp of it. Her parents theorize it was due to just watching people so much. You can almost always count on her to respond with succinct deadpan humor, or to offer (solicited) sage advice for anyone who asks for it. Her aloof disposition should not be confused for a cold demeanor--she is simply just quiet.

  • Reading - A true fan of the literary arts, Farrah most enjoys reading. Whether it be reading up on the most recent philosophy, current events, or how-to guides that give her excellent tutorials to do all the do-it-yourself projects that align with her interests. In her home in Balbadd, she owns an extensive library full of books as high as her house allows. In fact, it is the most popular piece of furniture in her home.

  • Engineering - A relatively new pursuit, but useful nonetheless. Her extensive library of manuals and manuscripts allowed her to bolster her own knowledge of technology and craftsmanship. She’s always loved to tinker with equipment--clocks, foundation of buildings, other assorted things. She fancied herself a hunter at a young age, and after showing little skill with a bow and arrow, crafted her very own type of bow that allowed her to shoot with ease.



Dislikes:



  • Corruption - Raised on the ideals of very idealistic parents, Farrah believes that altruism is the one driving force behind the existence of man. Thus, any and all people who are corrupt in her eyes deserve to be punished for exploiting the goodness of man. This tends to get her into trouble, when she actually speaks, as it is impossible to truly condemn a person to punishment for being ‘corrupt.’

  • Conservatism - Being on the side of more progressive technologies, Farrah despises the reins some take in regards to progression. She has never been one to stick to tried and true methods and she hates the idea that people must stick to the same methods if they still ‘work.’ Still, once again this gets her into trouble with many groups that choose to stick to keeping the sanctity of things the same rather than strive for innovation.



Aspirations:

Innovation - Farrah is motivated by one aspiration in life only--innovation. She strives to make the world a better, more efficient, smarter, so she will use any means necessary to do that for people. Motivated by her inability to pick up the simple skill of archery, she developed a contraption that allowed her to hunt with ease (and make using a bow and arrow that much simpler)! Since then, she has developed gadgets to improve the livelihood of people around her--easier access to higher elevations, easier methods to cook, even a way to preserve food for longer so that it would not spoil. Farrah was driven by the sole purpose of using her irreplaceable gift of innovation and is driven by it. She hopes to one day lead a country to economic and scientific superiority in research and development, showing off her intellectual prowess.

Phobias/fears:

Failure - As studious as she is, Farrah is haunted by the crippling fear of failure. Saddled with the self-imposed burden of perfection, she is, by all accounts, a perfectionist. Details are mulled over in particular detail until absolutely polished to perfection. Even if her piece of work is considered to be something of a masterpiece, she is never satisfied, and a failure that receives validation from other people could utterly destroy her sense of self-worth. Farrah subsists on the journey to perfection and failure is never an option.

Appearance: Farrah is a statuesque beauty, her long, slender, and tan body complemented by her perfectly sculpted legs. She was never really an unfortunate looking child, she has always been simply...beautiful. As a young child, her exploits as a wannabe inventor left her careening around the city of Balbadd, experimenting in self-taught acrobatics and intense physical fitness to test out her inventions, or merely to “gather” materials from dilapidated housing and other run-down materials that could be salvaged for free. As a result, her body was the paragon of fitness--strong muscles to give her the stamina to be as active as she desired, defined muscles, and attractive curves that made her the subject of many a man’s pursuit for Farrah’s heart. Yet, she showed no interest in the simple-minded pursuit of her body that all men shared, she cared for something more, something better, and so her fitness and physique were merely for her own personal enjoyment. Her fashion complemented her body as well: her hair was always pulled back into a high pony-tail, with a cloth headband around her forehead to collect sweat and keep her bangs away from her face. She wore a tight-fitting black one-piece leotard, with black cloth tied around her waist to cover her thighs. Upon her wrists, she wore cloth bracers, so that her arms would be protected by any cuts or bruises from tinkering with more dangerous materials. Her legs were covered by cloth stockings that matched her bracers and on her feet she wore high-heeled boots, purely for the sake of feeling beautiful. She completed her outfit with a black, billowing, and wispy black scarf around her neck. Not only did it provide some warmth when the nights were cold, it protected her face and eyes from dust when she would venture outside the city of Balbadd to collect materials for her inventions.

History: Raised in the city streets of Balbadd, Farrah spent most of her days treating her birthplace as a playground of sorts. She would relax, read, explore the town, or tinker with toys and other knickknacks until they were “improved beyond measure” (her words) all while being the perfect daughter to her parents. She knew very little hardship in her youth--her mother tended bar at the nearest tavern and her father was a celebrated artisan who sold beautiful artwork to the country’s nobles, amassing a comfortable fortune with which to raise Farrah and her two younger brothers. It did haunt her, a bit, to be born a woman--she always knew her father rejected that part of her, even though he tried his best to make her feel as loved as possible. While her twin younger brothers were, for the most part, strong and formidable men, she gained all of her father’s creative brain. At a young age, she, against her father’s orders, ‘tinkered’ with much of her father’s artwork, causing him to scold her in frustration. However, it appeared to everyone that her “adjustments” were actually improvements. Still, her lust for innovation with abandon got her into trouble many times--she tinkered with the carts around town, awnings to block out the sun, or even everyday contraptions the people around her neighborhood in Balbadd used, leaving the village folk confused as how to operate household items they’ve used for years. Her heart was in the right place, yes, but she did not understand the necessity to ‘take it slow.’ The world was always changing, she thought, so why not change with it!?

At the ripe age of nineteen, Farrah matured into a beautiful woman, now a bit of an artisan herself in the city of Balbadd, offering up trinkets and doodads alongside her father in their lovely little family owned shop at the bazaar. She sells pretty well, sometimes better than her father (to his chagrin), and takes home money to support the family. She wants to one day live where the nobles live and cater to the highest of society, hopefully being able to tear down the wall between nobility and common folk. Still, just being a simple tinkerer won’t gain her the notoriety to reach that goal. So, she enlisted as a mercenary under the purview of the Balbaddan government. She is lithe, cunning, and fearless to boot, and if that won’t get her ahead, her augmented weaponry sure would! Life is easy when you make it easy, another one of Farrah’s mottos, but one fears that stepping into the world of government will corrupt such a kind and idealistic soul.
