Welcome to the NPC Factions Workshop!

This is a small event where anyone can submit factions that they want to create that will be used by us staff in one way or another, such as small events or other plots rather personal or site wide. Anyone can submit one faction that they create along and will be rewarded with a 1/2 WC coupon. If there are any that cant be done for some reason we will be glad to help to make it work out.

Rules: Every person can submit 1 faction using the faction templates. Please include as much info as you can, including any info on the main NPCs that consist of the group. There will be three prompts/themes, please list above the faction info which theme it will fit under. This will be up for a month so take your time.

Themes:
Rogue:This is for any faction that is more rebellious or troublesome in nature such as bandits, thieve guilds or pirates.

Military: THis is anything from sub groups of a country's military like divisions, to mercenary bands.

Artisan/Labor: Any faction that would fit more of a normal lifestyle type of job would fit here. THis includes merchants companies, artisan guilds of any kind and any other path fitting tradesmen

Black Mage Institution

Factions Workshop The_sy10

Affiliation: Magnostadt
Type: Military
Status: Invite Only
Requirements:
  • Entry: Must spar with a tutor and pass their test. Must denounce Magnostdt Academy.
  • Departure: To leave properly, pass graduation test. May leave otherwise, but will considered a flunk and unable to return to join their official Black Mage ranks.
  • Activity: Must complete a job every six months to stay. Once graduated, they no longer has to complete jobs.

Description: An Institution that once was a sect of the Magnostadt Academy, but during the Kou Civil War, left. It is an Institution outside of the main city, with a small town of goi living outside, but part of the Magnostadt nation, though the Institution is an autonomous zone. Its specialty is martial combat, enchanting weapons to better melee combat prowess, and strength magic.

Its students dress within dark garbs or robes, but the official graduated members tend to be suited within armor, completing jobs for their town or Magnostadt city under the guise of Mercenaries to help fund the Institution. It seceded from the Academy due to disputes on whether or not Magnostadt should receive refugees from the Kou Civil War, due to certain sentiments within the hierarchy of the Academy.

Its teachings are rooted within occult beliefs that originated within Reim long ago. It is rumored by some that the Institution studies certain occult history to better understand lost magic types that have long been understudied. However, a few of the Academy students have perpetuated rumors that what the Institution is studying is far more sinister. It is unknown whether or not this is true.

Leaders:
Yin:

Albruna:

Members: All members of this faction will either fall under two categories: students or offical graduates. If one hopes to graduate, they must enroll within a two to three year course, before then being placed within the official rankings of the Institution as either Black Mage mercs or researchers.

Yin leads the mercs, while Albruna leads the research ends of the Institution. It is encouraged for Black Mages to reside within the town of Cantare, but are not obligated, especially for mercs. Black Mages of the Institution are prone to minor discrimination within Magnostadt city.

It is not uncommon for them to be seen as cultists due to their magic roots stemming from a nearly extinct witch culture from Reim. However, they are far from cultists, and are typically atheists, being very pro magic science, but are spiritual with regards to the rukh.

Rusty Builders Guild

Factions Workshop Me08m1A
Affiliation: Meridia
Type: Social
Status: Open
Requirements:
  • Entry: Attend an interview with one of the managers and fill out a mountain of paperwork - for safety, of course.
  • Departure: Hand in a notice two weeks prior to quitting and fill out the appropriate departure forms.
  • Activity: Complete a single D Tier job once per month preforming a direct task for the union or checking in with your progress.

Description: The Rusty Builders are a guild that was newly formed after the rise of Meridia with a business pair named Dasya and Kashvi serving as the founders and the main prospectors in charge of all their operations. They reside in a small, dedicated district within the capital city and operate out of a warehouse built using their specialties. Focusing on the renewal of discarded resources, their aim is to utilize byproducts produced by the crafts of other artisans. Turning trash into treasures once more to provide wares for the citizens of Meridia is their prerogative. Just a little pinch of magic is all it takes!

Founders:
Dasya:
Kashvi:

Members:

The guild operates under two sub-divisions, each led by a prospector with several contractors under their wing. These contractors are senior members who are assigned newer members, referred to as assistants, in order to complete their duties.

A steady flow of members come and go each month. From those who wander in looking for a few jobs to those seeking a career within the guild.

Under Prospector Dasya is the Restoration Division. Their job is to take materials supplied by the guild and turn them into treasures. They are in charge of both designing and creating these goods for the Meridian people. In applying for this division, you must have a creative mind, a passion for helping the Meridian people, and a bit of magical talent doesn't hurt.

Under Prospector Kashvi is the Distribution Division. Their job is to retrieve and deliver goods from all throughout Meridia. They keep a close eye on their inventory and leave no stone unturned when it comes to retrieving the most materials they can find. In applying for this division, you must have good organizational skills, a solid work ethic, and the drive to do your very best.

Black Box Organisation

Affiliation: None (Magnostadt)

Type: Social

Status: Open

Requirements:

  • Entry: Take part in an interview and showcase your prowess as a field or medical agent. If you join the Board of Directors, you must take a Black Box.
  • Departure: Sign a non-disclosure form. If you know about the real Black Box, you must have your memory wiped by a magician.
  • Activity: Post about giving someone a Black Box every two Activity Checks.

Description: The Black Box organisation, or BBO for short, was founded during the Kou-Reim conflict and expanded throughout the Kounese civil war. The founders wished for a world without conflict due to their involvement with these wars, and established an international healthcare service as a result. Unable to prevent such conflicts, however, BBO sends doctors and magicians to patients in wartorn and underprivileged areas. To help their patients, BBO has also designed a miracle drug called the Black Box, hence the Black Box organisation, which cures almost all conditions the BBO has faced.

Founders:
Easton:

Leicester:

Harker:

Members: The BBO takes volunteers for the most part, but also funds medical professionals like doctors or magicians across the world. Those who are not volunteers or part-time workers, but employed by BBO, are then separated into field and medical agents:

  • field agents are sent into war-zones, distributing Black Boxes to those in need and sending data to back to the BBO’s head-quarters.
  • medical agents operate in pop-up clinics around the world, dealing with patients in war-torn or poor areas.

The BBO as a whole is governed by the Board of Directors, whose members are promoted from field and medical agents or the Magnostadt laboratories where the Black Boxes are made. These laboratories are independently funded, but nobody knows where the money comes from.
