His #1 Enemy: Life Magicians [ Solo Job ]

He walked through the streets of Magnostadt with a bored glare. He felt a growing resentment against life magicians forming beneath his skin. Not just a particular group of four, annoying life magicians who also doubled as the most bothersome brats in all of history, but towards all life magicians in general and their beyond annoying habit of creating rather chaotic creatures that he always had to clean up after. And one had to admit his grievances were understandable. Not long ago, Ariel had spent four days expelling the city of the products of the four mischief-loving life magicians he knew to be the reason his life truly sucked. Plus, on top of that, he had to deal with Reed all the time thanks to said brats which only further aggravated him. And now another stupid life magician at Magnostadt had stirred up another chaos-creating creature as if to give Ariel another headache. At that point, how could he not hate life magicians?

The answer was actually quite fairly simple and yet it was beyond his understanding and comprehension. For whatever mystery he could never entangle, he had a difficult time actually hating others with the avid ferocity his mind promoted which was probably the reason he always found himself having to put up with Reed’s strange and fathomless cheerfulness. It just wasn't his nature to hate others no matter how much his mind ordered his heart to. It often became the center and main reason for the majority of his grievances towards himself and the cause of many external problems for him.

He glanced around his surroundings with a suspicious glare. Not that he could see much as currently strands of his long hair was clutching themselves onto his face. Despite his struggling and attempts to disarm his dark locks of hair, the strong wind proved more powerful than the pitiful strength of Ariel. Every time he moved his hair out of his face, it merely flew back into its previous place. Not that anyone would be surprised to hear, but as his hair caused quite a raucous among his sight and being a general nuisance, he was cursing loudly, much to the chagrin of passerbyers.

As his focus was mainly on wiping his hair out of his face, he only noticed a disruption of the crowd at the last minute. At that minute, he found himself in a sea of people all pushing against him. Around him, he could hear children shouting, “The trees are alive!” He snorted. Well of course they were alive. Dead trees had no leaves and they had a withering appearance. The bark was rather crumbly and the roots hung dry. With roots to act as anchors, they were also easy to push over. But of course, they had to have been referring to the monstrous trees that he was to bring down.

When he managed to get a defined glance, he couldn’t help but snort. This was what everyone was running from? Sure it was scary looking, but he could tell it was practically useless other than stirring up a little trouble like a typical urchin. “Orbit,” he commanded. With his wand out and pointing towards the cluster of trees lumbering around, the ground around him shifted and changed until from its warped fog, came four, black orbs. Without any hesitation, they launched themselves at the trees. Being slow and easy targets, not a single orb missed their mark and four trees collapsed neatly on the ground.

The last tree came at him and with all its might, it moved its limbs back and flung them forward. Ariel quickly sped towards the tree and into a canopy of its making. He immediately tackled the prototype down. It struggled against him, and being stronger, merely pushed him off like one might push off an overly excited puppy. Ariel twisted to his stomach and pushed himself back. He skidded back as the tree again attempted an attack against him. This time, it employed a long, horizontal sweeping motion. He returned the attack and slammed the butt of his wand into the tree somewhat blindly.
