Name: Morisato Shigure. His child name was Akira.

Country Affiliation: Wanderer. Formerly from Kina Kingdom.

Race: Human.

Tier: D-Tier.

Class: Warrior (Samurai).

Age + Birthdate: 25 years old. Born in June, 18th.

Gender: Male.

Sexuality: Heterosexual.

Personality: Born as a noble samurai in the Kina Kingdom, discipline was always something important in Shigure’s life. He was raised to be a Samurai Warrior in an environment so strict, that it earned him the nickname of Demon. Despite that, Shigure is a very thoughtful and mature man. He will always place his group and family above himself and everything else. He doesn’t like to take the spotlight and lead, but he has no restriction towards being the iron fist in the shadow in order for order to prevail. Still, he, as a noble samurai, is extremely proud and hates to appear weak and to accept help from others and he can only overlook this trait for the safety of his group and family, when it’s survival is above his personal honor. He is serious and rarely smiles, except when alone, appreciating the landscape and the marvels of the world.

In a sense, he can be seen as a worrywart, always concerned about the well-being of the people he cares about, which makes him, in truth, a very caring person who values friendship and family above all else, even his personal safety. He wouldn’t care about losing his life to protect those he cares about.

Likes:
- Friends, family and group: For Shigure, those bonds are sacred and must be protected at all costs;
- Discipline and order: Those are necessary traits for a true warrior, and qualities that should be nourished by everyone. And he will enforce it;
- Poetry and music: Although he hides it from people, he is romantic and loves music and poetry, although he is not particularly good in any of those;
- Sushi e Ramen: He loves his home food and misses it every day of his journey;
- Nature: The beauty of the world marvels him, bringing him real happiness to see the nature blooming.

Dislikes:
- Rebellion and dishonor: In his mind, order is of utmost importance, and people should follow a strict discipline. Those who dishonor themselves or their groups should pay the ultimate price;
- Onions: Shigure can’t stand onions. Period;
- Kou Empire: Due to Kina’s history, he can’t stand the Kou Empire and will mistrust everyone from that land until they have proven themselves worthy.

Aspirations: Shigure’s dream is to restore the Morisato clan to its rightful position as one of the ruling clans of Kina, in order to bring his country to true prosperity, by establishing a potent military power on it, so it can face countries such as Kou, who for long time demanded taxes from Kina. He also wants to take revenge on the Kawaguchi clan for plotting against his own clan, leading to its shame and destruction, financed by agents of the Kou Empire.

Phobias/fears: Although he doesn’t have a major fear or phobia, there are things that bother him a lot.
- Spears: Ever since the betrayal of his clan, where most of them died, Shigure developed this fear from spear kind of weapons, when he was defeated by a spearman from Kou, with a trust to his back. His fear makes him not capable of fighting to his true potential, because he is unsure of himself, and he shivers a bit;
- Open Ocean: Being in the open ocean, be it on a small boat or a ship, makes him absurdly unease and stressed. Due to his escape from Kina Kingdom, where his boat was sank and he was left lost in the sea for days, Shigure can’t really stand it and only travels across the ocean when absolutely necessary;
- Fire: The lower of all his fears, but something that still bothers him deeply. When his clan was attacked, they set fire to his castle. To watch his loved ones burn to death left a mark on him. Although normal fires don’t affect him, to see something such as a house or something larger on fire, or people burning, is enough to trigger this mild fear and the dark memories from the past.

Face-claim: Hijikata Toshizo – Hakuouki Shinsengumi Kitan.

Hair Color: Black.

Eye Color: Violet.

Height: 172 cm.

Weight: 64 kg.

Appearance: Shigure is a very handsome man. He has a very straight and long black hair, falling all the way down to his waist when not tied up, which is rare. He has dark violet and sharp eyes that seem to be paying attention to every detail on his surroundings. His skin is white and he has very little body hair, and usually keeps his beard perfectly shaved, as he dislikes having any hair on his face. Shigure also has a very deep spear scar on his lower back, on the left side, that almost destroyed his kidney. Whenever he is traveling, he wears a purple kimono top and grey hakama. However, whenever he goes to a serious battle, he uses his clan tradition light-blue haori, cord and headband. In any case, he is always wearing his daisho, the set of swords, traditional to the Samurai, composed of the long sword, Katana, and the short one, Wakizashi, located on his left hip. His Katana is a Kanesada, a very traditional blade, which was given to him by his late father. Whenever he is ready to attack, he touches the guard of his blade with the left hand.

Rukh Aligmnet: White.

Special Features: Nothing.

History: War. War never changes.

Power is something people carve for ever since the birth of mankind. At first, it was a necessary thing for survival, but with time, it became a luxury of a few. The noble cast was created and people were born into power, causing both admiration and envy from the ones not so privileged as to be born among those ranks. Still, even among nobility, there were different degrees of power, and the envy was even greater, for one noble must fall so that another must ascend.

The Kina Kingdom was always a kingdom of warriors. Although a small island with few resources, being taxed by the larger countries, such as Kou, they always had that warrior’s spirit inside of them, and that warrior’s spirit made them the culture they are now. A culture of aristocrat warriors, capable of fighting with pen and sword alike.

The Morisato clan was one of the older and most traditional clans of Kina. Part of a selected among the feudal lords, called Daimyos to actually have the trust of the Emperor and act as their advisors, along with only other two clans. This position of almost infinite privilege had one flaw: they had many unspoken enemies that were hungry for their position and glory. Still, the last head of the clan, the Daimyo, Morisato Matatabi was a fierce warrior, and a man of utmost honor. Unlike most of the daimyos, he had no patience or interest in playing the games of power and politics, and only acted in the best interest of the Emperor, and Kina Kingdom. While a noble choice, it left the Morisato clan blinded to the treat that would eventually destroy it: the betrayal of one of their vassals, the Kawaguchi clan.

Morisato Matatabi had plenty of children, and his clan was big and powerful. He had a total of seven sons, Ichirou, Kojirou, Sanjirou, Shirou, Gojirou, Akira and Yamato, and two daughters, Mayumi and Akemi. As tradition said, the first two male offspring should be raised to be the successors of the clan, the other three should be raised to be their counselors, and the rest of the male offspring should be raised to be generals, while the daughters are tools to bring peace among rival clans, and that was precisely what Matatabi did.

Akira, who would later be known as Shigure, and Yamato were both trained since they were able to walk to be fearless samurai warriors, that would fight and die for their clan, and help their older siblings to keep the prosperity and power the Morisato clan had since the dawn of time, and they never complained about that. They were trained by their uncle, Morisato Masahiro, who was the general of the clan and the best samurai among their ranks. Their style was known as Morisato-ha Shinkage Ryu, a branch of one of the most traditional sword schools of Kina, whose branch was founded by Shigure’s grandfather, Morisato Matamoto.

Masahiro pushed Akira and Yamato to way beyond their limits, while the other siblings received a less harsh training. As the old samurai said, the daimyo must know how to fight, but their generals must be beasts in combat, and feared warlords, and no warlord is born without paying his due in blood.

The hierarchy between the siblings was clear, but it didn’t mean they didn’t get along. Akira knew his brothers, either Ichirou or Kojirou would rule, and he had to be a tool for them to shine, even if he had to work in the shadows, and he was satisfied with that. At the same time, the elder brothers respected the massive efforts of the younger ones, knowing they could trust them to fight with their lives for the sake of the clan.

Still, there wasn’t only war in their lives. Their mother, Noriko, was an amazing artist in the art of calligraphy, ikebana (art with flowers), tea ceremony, music and poetry. The sisters, Kojirou, Shirou and Akira loved that and each of them took interest in certain matters, in Akira’s case, he loved music, poetry and calligraphy, but only excelled in the later.

As he grew up, he began rising through the ranks of the troops, until he reached the position of captain, at the age of 16. Once he acquired the position, he began training his troops, still under the supervision of his master and uncle, demanding ultimate discipline and honor. Among his underlings, was his brother Yamato, who jokingly gave him the nickname of Demon, which served him well. After one year leading his troops, he was finally recognized as an adult, and, as such, he forfeited his child name and became Shigure.

His brothers were now names Matahachi, Masumi, Makoto, Meiyou, Minato and Kenshin, all adults and following their roles perfectly while the Morisato clan continued to thrive.

The problems began to arise when Shigure was 22 years old. Kawaguchi Sousuke, the head of the Kawaguchi clan was one of the trusted advisors of Matatabi and he suggested that he married his elder daughter, Mayumi, to a strong rival clan, the Nakayama. When all preparations were ready, during one diner to celebrate the upcoming union, Sousuke came rushing through the door and informed Matatabi that the heir of the Nakayama clan was plotting to kill Matahachi and Masumi, thus disposing of the two heirs. That would weaken the Morisato clan and, once he married Mayumi, he would be closer to his goal, which was to take over the Morisato clan lands and status.

Horrified by such claims, Matatabi demanded proof, and Sousuke promptly led them to a hidden place in the woods, where they had plenty of weapons conceiled, all of them engraved with the Nakayama clan symbol.

Angry with such plot, Matatabi gathered with his advisors and sons and decided on that same night to slaughter all of the Nakayamas that were there, including the heir to the clan, a decision that was later supported by Kawaguchi Sousuke. However, when they were ready to attack, the Nakayama had fled the land and kidnapped Matatabi’s daughter, which completely enraged them all.

The Morisato decided to wage war against the Nakayama, but they knew they needed the Emperor’s approval. Kawaguchi Sousuke volunteered to plead their case to the Emperor and so he travelled to the capital. A month later, he came back with the Emperor’s approval and the promise of sending troops to aid them when they reached Nakayama fiefdom. With that in hands, the Morisato army marched to war.

However, when they reached the battlefield, the Nakayama army was ready and, to their surprise, the imperial troops were alongside them, as well as the Kawaguchi’s men. Shocked by that, Matatabi demanded answer and they answered that the Emperor had been informed of the Morisato clan’s plot to take over the Nakayama land by faking a kidnapping. They insulted each other’s honor and a fearsome battle began.

The Morisato clan was outnumbered four to one in this battle, and faced a terrible defeat, leading them to retreat back to their fiefdom and withstand a siege. Still, when they came back, the castle and the land were on fire; the Kawaguchi seized the opportunity and stoke when most of the troops were away. Shigure, who had marched to war was absolutely shocked and angry; his brother Kenshin had been slayed and his body was pinned to a three in the entrance of the walls, where the Kawaguchi army was ready to engage the weakened Morisato army. Still, they fought brave, they fought valiantly, and most of them died.

The fire claimed many lives, and so did the sword and spear. When all hope seemed lost, Masumi, the second brother ordered the surviving to flee to the harbor, where he had ships ready for an emergency. When they were fleeing, a spearman attacked Masumi. Seeing that, Shigure jumped in front of his brother and was nearly killed by the deadly trust and fainted. Masumi managed to save him together with Minato and the three remaining siblings and some troops got themselves into one of the ships and set sail.

Two other ships were sunk with fire, and the ship they were in was in a terrible shape, which led to its destruction before it reached the land of Kou.

Shigure, while still severely injured was lost in the sea for a week and almost died. By some miracle, he was found by some Kou fisherman and taken to the shore. However, being now a criminal of Kina, he was arrested by the Kou soldiers and thrown in a cell, where he rotted for another two years. After that time, without being able to confirm what crimes he committed, he was released, now with a deep hatred towards the members of Kou. The only thing he managed to get back was his set of swords.

Ever since them, he had nothing else on his life, other than to search for his two surviving brothers, and try to gather strength, allies, so that he could start his path to restore the glory of his clan, and take revenge on the treacherous Kawaguchis.

Role-Play Sample:
Blood and fire everywhere. The screams of pain and suffering of his people were like the song of the demons from hell. Shigure’s violet eyes were wide open with both shock and hatred as he stared at his castle ablaze. He took a deep breath and, by tightening the grip on his sword, he stared at the enemy coming. ”You will pay for this! You dishonored bastards! I may die here, but I will die as a true warrior! I will take you all with me!!” he roared as he charged against the soldiers coming at him. Shigure’s sword was filled with rage, and his fiery determination to take vengeance on his enemies and ensure that his brother Masumi would survive was everything he had left. The cuts he received were superficial, and with the rush of adrenaline, he couldn’t care less about it. After cutting a soldier in half, he stared back to see his surviving brother who was issuing orders for everyone to follow him to the harbor.

”Masumi-sama! I will keep them here! Save yourself! Save as many as you can!” he said, but before Masumi could even dream to answer, Shigure stared at a terrifying view: a spearman was charging against his brother and his attack would surely kill him. The fear made shivers run down the younger’s spine and, without even thinking, he ran towards his brother. ”No! Masumi-sama, get down!!” those were his last words before he jumped in front of his brother, turning his back to protect him from harm. The spear pierced deeply through his armor, and injured his kidney, but it wasn’t strong enough to go out on the other side. Shigure fell to his knees and, with his eye sight fading away, he managed to stare at his brother, who angrily killed the spearman. ”I… W-would gladly die f-for you again… K-kojirou…” his voice was fainting and, due to the loss of blood, he called his brother by his child name, and that was the last thing he remembered before fainting.
