Ronove' - The Necropolis [KILL VIABLE] LbvgxjV

In the Necropolis, the beautiful landscapes fall away to reveal an area of desolation and destruction. Static in the air makes hair raise on end and causes pebbles to float. All around, chunks of buildings and large rocks float as lightning dances through the air, making the trip to a small tower on the opposite side a dangerous one, leaving the adventurers unsure of if they might suffer a sudden shock before they can make their way to the tower and the portal hidden within.

Ani and Zadi would find themselves moved into a desolate wasteland, appearing on a platform overlooking a massive lake. All around, hovering stones and lent to the feeling of a nearly hopeless adventure to the other side. Immediately upon appearing in the Necropolis, no enemies would present themselves, giving the adventurers an opportunity to orient themselves and look around. When they were ready to continue, a treacherous, unstable looking path would begin to lead them across the lake via slick stones leading across the water. In the lake itself, lightning seemed to dance, but it was not obvious at first glance if the water was electrified or if it were simply a reflection from the sky.

OOC Note:  Players will have 48 hours to respond. If within an electromagnetic field, all movement speed will be halved (this includes with the use of any mounts, biological or otherwise). If struck by lightning, the player will suffer C-tier damage.

When they made their way into the next area Ani looked over to Zadi while smiling a bit. She was happy that they had made it this far. After all there were quite a few surprises and Ani hadn't been expecting any of them. While their team work was shabby at first Ani believed that as they went deeper into this dungeon they got better at coordinating tactics. She made a few decisions, and listened to Zadi's opinion when it came down to it. Looking around she saw the sky and at the lake thinking to herself. "Well from what I experienced in my first dungeon this room is dangerous."

She brought this up because she wanted to hear Zadi's experience on this. "I'm not sure if it was the same for your dungeons, but  I'm guessing the lightning or creatures will be incredibly dangerous, in Dantalion the heat was the most intense in the room before the djinn's chamber so I wouldn't be surprised if the lightning was more powerful here." She said making a small observation before looking at the lake rubbing her cheek in thought. Ani would stand there and let Zadi make his observations. She made sure to listen to whatever he would say. If Zadi wanted to rest and discuss more she would, but if he was ready to continue she would begin moving.

The next area seemed far more lightning oriented than the other areas. Everything in this area seemed to be powered by lightning such as the floating rocks, the flowing water, and even the air itself seemed unable to function without lightning. Quite artistic in Zadi's point of view. Anyway, Ani was right, this area is likely to be the most dangerous of the areas so far. Perhaps even the creatures would be more feral than the last. Hopefully the trio's teamwork has improved miraculously over the course of entering this area.

"None of the dungeons I've entered up to this point in time have had much more danger in one area of a dungeon compared to another. However, not all dungeons are the same in terms of danger. The lightning isn't so much a problem. I'm more worried about the creatures able to survive here."

Zadi looked around in an attempt to spot a creature before said creature spotted the trio. At this point, only powerful foes awaited their arrival. Everything Zadi has done to adapt to the general theme of a dungeon has either backfired or not worked at all. The creatures of Ronove weren't smart enough and/or too feral to reason with yet also too powerful to circumvent. Zadi felt getting to the end of this dungeon ought to garner quite the reward for the effort needed to conquer this dungeon.

"Let's move slow, low, and quietly. We NEED to spot the enemy before the enemy spots us. That way we can either circumvent them or surprise them."

As the adventurers made their way across the shimmering, crackling lake, a peek into the waters would reveal massive eels practically vibrating with lightning as it shimmered and coated their bodies. The creatures seemed to take mild notice of the ones traveling across the shallow path across the lake, but made no move to intercept. They would only attack if someone where unlucky enough to fall into their domain. A bolt of lightning struck in the distance, striking the lake and causing a tiny explosion as the bolts skittered across the liquid surface before fading away.  If the pair kept their heads down, they might make it to the other side of the lake without incident, but the Imuchakk woman needed to keep her large stature in mind, a giant was much more likely to be struck than a human, after all.

It would not be until the pair had almost made it to the other side of the lake, nearer to where the lightning had struck, that they would hit a massive electromagnetic field that would drag at their skin, making them move even more slowly.

Ani nodded softly as she continued walking the path slowly and carefully looking around as she walked hoping that she wouldn't be surprised by some random creature coming from nowhere. She crouched slightly with each step and looked into the water to make sure that nothing was going to jump out at her and her partners. Hoyo looked around aswell as they walked and was staying low himself. "Hmm alright, while it's unlikely let's hope we get through this part of the dungeon quickly." She said while looking back at him.

When they hit the electromagnetic field Ani shivered and let out a groan while continuing to walk. She looked around a bit more cautiously since they would be moving around in this area slowly.

The eels in the water made Zadi's spine tingle. Their ominous presence in the water kept Zadi tense as the trio made their way across the lake. Lightning struck not to far away, always a surprise. Zadi flinched and continued, still hoping none of the eels would want to risk flinging its electrified body at the trio. After some more time, the trio eventually made it to the spot where the bolt struck. The electromagnetic field slowed them all down tremendously, but at least they weren't injured because of the epic slowness. Zadi kept his body slightly lower than normal in hopes any number of centimeters would count towards not being struck by a bolt. His eyes stayed sharp, too.

As the pair struggled to make it through the field, they would see that the path widened as the lake ended and, soon, the stifling field would end as well, freeing them to move at normal speed. The wasteland spread before them, chunks of rock floating into their line of vision that could easily be moved to the side with a small tap. Across the desolation of the area, a tower could be seen, though it would not be a quick trip, but at least, unlike the other rooms, there was no doubt which direction they would need to go. Lightning strikes were more frequent here, as well, and could be seen striking down in all directions. Where a strike happened, the rocks would lift and hover and, if a rock itself were struck, it would shatter into tiny pieces, sending more debris flying through the air.

If the pair were especially observant, they might notice that, seemingly embedded in some of the taller crags of rocks were the remains of old structures and buildings, long ago abandoned and decrepit from the lightning strikes. It would be pointless to try and really identify them as anything more than very old buildings slowly wasting away into the environment, but it spoke to the fact that, at one point, this might have been something or somewhere important.

When they had made their way across Ani let out a soft gulp as she watched the lightning dancing across the field and making rocks float into the air she was stunned for a moment finding the entire situation beautiful. "I don't know why, but it's beautiful." Ani told Zadi in a bit of awe before she began to focus on the area ahead of them. Ani crouched still walking across the field with Hoyo and Zadi. She kept her eyes peeled for any enemies or other contenders not wanting to be surprised attack. She also made sure to keep her ears open in case Zadi needed to say anything to her as they made their way to the tower.

The uninhabitable buildings made Zadi remember the buildings of the previous dungeon. That dungeon, who's name escapes the narrator, not only had empty buildings but also large Toran writing. This writing later prompted Zadi to study the Toran language in hopes of translating the dungeon's strange language. Unfortunately, nothing came of it so checking Ronove's buildings for Toran writing wasn't in Zadi's current interest. However, Zadi appreciates his knowledge of the Toran language. If writing showed up that didn't side-track the trio's dungeoneering then Zadi would happily try to translate. Zadi noted Ari's comment, spoke, and thought in silence while keeping his senses sharp.

"Hm...yeah."

"Needs more pink."

The landscape did not become more lively, but as Ani and Zadi walked, they would notice some sign of life in the distance, a seemingly lone figure. The figure held a bladed lance that stood 2 meters high, twice as tall as the human-figure itself. The figure did not move as the adventurers approached, she simply opened her eyes, her hair standing on end in the static surrounding her.

As the pair would come within viewing distance of the figure, they would also notice that, for the first time, the electromagnetic fields they had been coming across was shockingly visible around this figure, yet did not seem to touch it. The lightning crackled and zapped in a 20 meter radius all around the figure as it watched them approach. It would be impossible to tell the intentions of the figure, but it would make no attempt to attack or show any sign of aggression, its expression was completely neutral.

When Ani saw the figure in the distance she judged that it would be wise not to get too close to her. After all this neutral person could be extremely dangerous. So she stopped with Zadi and Hoyo trying to think of what to do. She rubbed her chin for a moment as she looked to Zadi. Preferably they would make it passed her without a fight. She just gave off a dangerous vibe to Ani. After thinking for a moment she looked to Zadi having come up with a plan. "Hand me the stone you picked up, i'll show her both of them and possibly it'll show that we proved ourselves so far." Ani said waiting for Zadi to hand her the stone.

Once Zadi would hand her the second stone she would walk forward with Hoyo just behind her. She would walk within sight distance, but made sure to stay out of range of her electrical field, and electromagnetic field. She held up the two purple runed stones showing them to the figure in the distance. "We wish to pass without conflict!" She declared hoping that she would understand their peacefulness and let them pass. Either way Ani made sure to be ready to move if she tried to attack.

Zadi

Zadi's Cautionary Sense didn't help in this case. The short figure was just too unresponsive to everything that Zadi doubted even attacking would phase the thing. This got Zadi thinking about the electromagnetic field around the figure. Perhaps the field allowed the figure to respond to moving things that come within the field. If that is the case, negotiations would be impossible because such an ability in tangent with electromagnetic fields meant the figure is a powerful guard whose senses need to be restrained within the field, aside from sight apparently.

Zadi became just as nervous about this encounter as he had when seeing the 'injured' harpy. However, the harpy made sure to look innocent and frail whereas this figure with the spear looked doll-like. Zadi made sure to relay some of his thoughts to Ani as best he could;

"Before I give you the stone, know that this thing is probably just a doll. It is completely unresponsive to us so far, but that may be in part to the electromagnetic field. This field is probably connected to this thing in some way, allowing this thing to respond instantly to anything that comes within the field."

Zadi then gave Ani the stone and wished her the best of luck, "Doll or not, I hope it responds to negotiations in a positive manner...good luck."

The eyes of the figure stayed on Ani as the Imuchakk woman approached but stayed clear of the electromagnetic field surrounding the mage. When Ani held up the runes, the mage’s face hardened slightly, though she did not raise her weapon. When her voice rang out, it was like the tinkling of a gentle bell, soft but strong, and carried easily to where Ani and Zadi could both hear her.

“The stones do not prove you passed the test, only that you took the test. The symbol on the stones tell me if you passed or not. My mistress, the owner of this world, has declared that those with purple stones have failed to meet her expectations. You have options, however.

First, you may accept your failure and leave this place, with a small boon for the trials you have endured. If you wish to confront my mistress directly, the stones you presented will determine how many more you must fight through to get to her Chamber. This is no guarantee that she will grant you any further favor, it is simply the opportunity to address the mistress of this place. Make your choice, Contender.”

If you take the offer to leave, each player will be granted 80,000 huang and teleported out of the dungeon. If you refuse and choose to continue, you will face additional challenges based on the results of your rune stones.

When Ani heard this she was a bit disheartened and instead looked up her resolve firm as she had thought it through in her head. She did not want consolation prize. Ani still wanted to prove herself to the djinn. Even if the chance was small Ani wanted to try and meet the djinn's expectations. She had to take this chance at least in her opinion. After letting out a sigh she looked back at her partner giving him a soft smile before she turned her head back to mage. "I'm going to take this chance to prove myself." She said nodding softly while patting Hoyo. Ani thought it would be a bit disrespectful to herself and her partners if she were to give up now.

Zadi had a slight hunch as to the meaning of the stones. There are probably three colors; blue, purple, and yellow. The three color paths indicated such colors and so Zadi assumed there must be colored stones to match each path. Purple lead to a dead end whereas blue lead to the next area. The color yellow has yet to have its meaning deciphered by Zadi. However, doing a little critical thinking, Zadi could come up with something convoluted.

"The only trends I've see associated with stone colors are teamwork the killing of dungeon creatures. Aside from those two aspects, there doesn't seem to be a reason to hand out a purple colored stone. Therefore, a purple stone is either handed out when poor teamwork is displayed or when a dungeon creature is killed. The blue path lead us in the proper direction so in order to attain a blue stone, we should have either done better teamwork or not killed any dungeon creatures. The first area I killed two dungeon creatures and didn't communicate with Ani very well. The second area we killed five dungeon creatures and still didn't communicate with each other very well."

Zadi continued to think about their actions thus far and how they relate to the stone colors. Purple seems to be a poor color to attain whereas blue is the opposite and therefore should be coveted. Yellow is the only mystery to Zadi, but this area of the dungeon may prove useful to deducing an answer;

"Hmmm...poor teamwork or not, getting two blue stones is difficult. One must not fight a single dungeon beast in the first area while communicating with your partner while in the second are one must defeat many creatures while communicating outstandingly. But why not just have two colors, blue and yellow, and just not give candidates a purple stone?"

Zadi continued to ponder in silence as Ani was making her choice. Zadi would follow her either which way, but honestly preferred to satiate his curiosity but continuing through the dungeon. After all, Zadi may have just figured out a pattern;

"Aha! Blue must be attained by not slaying, purple is attained by slaying, and yellow is attained through perseverance! Sure, teamwork is important, but these trials are testing our overall resolve! We must have a blue stone and a purple stone up to this point in time and we will likely attain a yellow stone is be pass this area of the dungeon! Sucks that I lost my cool so early on...damn."

When Ani made her decision, Zadi stuck out both his arms and gave a silly thumbs up with a bright smile on his face. Ani made the proper decision without Zadi's advice! Granted, Ani didn't seem like the kind of person to give up. The group may not have a blue stone, but two out of three ain't so terrible. Heck, with enough perseverance, they may have one of their purple stones transform into a blue stone alongside attaining a yellow stone!

Zadi explained his assumptions to Ani in hopes he was correct, "Good choice! That must have been a trial in and of itself. As for the stones, we probably needed a blue colored stone and a purple colored stone, not two purple stones. Probably my fault that we don't have the blue stone from the first area, you know...cause I killed those wolves. According to my assumptions, we did well enough to garner a purple stone from the second area, you know, for fighting valiantly. If we continue to preserve then our final stone will likely be yellow. Again, good choice, Ani."

Unfortunately, Zadi would likely not be able to explain his assumptions if the emotionless woman attacked because of Ani's decision. The emotionless woman did say there would be battles to come...

The mage allowed Ani to come to her decision and Zadi to speak his peace before her voice range out again, brow arched.

“Be certain of your choice. Every person that wishes to continue on to see my mistress will face at least one guardian like myself. For every test that was failed, you must face another. You will have only another moment to change your mind and then the final test will begin.”

As she spoke, the lightning shimmered around her, two more strikes coming down and, with those strikes, two more mages would appear, each as neutral and serene as the first. It was obvious they took no joy in their job but would also not fail to follow their mistress’ wishes to the best of their ability. Ani would have one final opportunity to either change her mind or to initiate combat with the three guardians.

When Ani heard the challenge she let out a slight breath looking at them all while sighing softly. She thought about it for a moment and decided to ask them a question before she would make one final decision. "Can we decide the form of combat?" She asked while looking at the mage thinking to herself. This time Ani wasn't going to be unprepared she was going to think everything through and then make the wisest decision. After all the Imuchakk was a determined woman, but she also knew to consider all options and think things through even if she hadn't showed the best judgement before.

Zadi

Zadi

With a total of three, powerful figures in front of them, Zadi was a little disappointed by his assumptions. It seems having ANY number of purple stones meant failing a trial. Does that mean teamwork is that important to this Djinn? Or perhaps combat isn't something the Djinn likes very much and anyone who kills a creature of this dungeon is to be failed. Zadi sighed in unison with Ani, probably for the same reason. This dungeon is far more punishing than challenging. One wrong misstep and the Djinn will automatically dislike you. Quite harsh from Zadi's perspective.

Anyway, while Zadi was thinking of a way to defeat the three figures in combat, Ani asked a clever question that Zadi himself would have had a tough time conceiving. Ani's question is probably the only way the trio will be able to "defeat" the three figures and pass this trial. Before wondering what Ani had in mind, Zadi worried if the Djinn would allow the challengers to choose the "form of combat".

"Ani seems to have blossomed from all the trials the Djinn has thrown her way. I might as well start thinking about a form of combat that we are guaranteed to win against such powerful foes...and the Djinn."

At Ani’s question, the mage in the front cocked her head to the side for a split second before uttering a single word.

“No.”

The Imuchakk’s choices up to this point were the reason she had failed both of the tests, the orders of their mistress had been clear, to present a final combat challenge. If the Imuchakk was unwilling to meet the trio at their terms, then they had no problems instigating combat, but their patience with her attempts to outsmart them was wearing thin. They would allow her only this final decision before attacking, as other challengers could appear at any moment.

Ani bit into her lip hard drawing a little blood as she clenched her fists taking a deep breath. It would be selfish of Ani to stay and fight. She knew that if she tried to fight all three of them Ani would die, and Zadi probably would too. The dungeon had weakened them too much. Ani couldn't be selfish and try to prove herself through combat. Looking at the ground she let out a long sigh before giving a weak smile to Zadi and her beast Hoyo. "It would be stupid to try and fight, we would die fighting you." Ani pat Hoyo softly while remaining calm. "We will take the offer to leave." She said in a calm tone doing what she thought would be best for them all.

Zadi

Even with Ani giving her choice, Zadi stayed conflicted. Obviously with Zadi being the companion in this scenario, he would likely have to leave with Ani. Leaving voluntarily would mean Zadi only cared about the spoils of a dungeon, not the thrill of adventure like he keeps telling himself. However, staying would certainly mean death given the circumstances; three enemies similarly as powerful as Zadi, against one Zadi. Even with Ani staying things would be difficult. Zadi didn't know how strong Ani and Hoyo could be, but Zadi guessed that either he held them back or the dungeon's magic had something to do with their strength.

Staying or leaving. Either which way Zadi could be attributed as greedy. However, staying meant dying and therefore leaving is the smart choice. But staying meant even more thrills awaited Zadi, too. Death is a thrill after all...

"Wait! I would like to stay."

Zadi looked to Ani and tried to apologize for his actions, "Sorry, but I have to prove to myself that I run dungeons for the fun, not the riches. This dungeon may be punishing, but I still love it."

Zadi sighed and continued his short speech towards Ani, "At least I could help you attain something better than riches. Use that newfound determination wisely and capture another dungeon for me."

After Ani made her decision, she would immediately find herself engulfed in a bolt of lightning, though this one did no damage to her. Instead, she found herself outside of the dungeon, miles from the shimmering tower with Hoyo and a bag of gold resting next to her. She was completely unharmed and the promise that she was compensated for some of her troubles had proven true, as there was quite a chunk of gold coins in the bag.

Zadi’s impulsive decision to stay, however, ;eft him alone in his battle, facing three pan-faced mages who only waited for Ani to disappear before acting. The mage in the front, 20 meters from Zadi, would use Deadly Strike as soon as the flash of lightning from Ani had dissipated. Meanwhile, the mage two meters behind and to the left of her used Buffer to expand a massive field around the trio, ensuring that if Zadi were to try and get close, he would pay for it. The third mage, two meters back and to the right of the center mage stood ready for anything, waiting to see how the human would react.

Meanwhile, in the center of the pond at the entrance to the area, Solomon and Val would find themselves appearing in the barren, desolate landscape. They would not be anywhere close enough to see the enemies in the distance, though they might have caught the bolt of lightning responsible for teleporting Ani out of the dungeon. The waters were roiling with the movements of the electrical eels beneath the surface, but nothing made an attempt to surface for them. They would need to travel for a while before spotting their goal.

Details:
Ani – teleported out of the dungeon and granted 80,000 huang.
Mage A – Using Deadly Strike at Zadi
Mage B – Using Buffer to create a zone 20 meters in all directions of the mages.
Electromagnetic field still present around the mages, slowing all movements from any type of flight/mobility by half.
Solomon/Val – appearing at the beginning of the zone

As his final words to Ani finished, Zadi got out his Metal Vessel and began to say the necessary incantation as fast as he could, "Vassago, bringer of law without ruling! She who creates order within chaos! O' Djinn of Law and Order, hear my call! Bless me with the power to save life and bring balance to this world! Vassago!"

Meanwhile, Ani was struck by a flashy bolt of lightning, engulfing her and Hoyo. Either Ani and Hoyo died or they were teleported out of this dungeon. Either which way, Zadi didn't have the luxury to think about anything other than the incantation so he simply continued, eventually being engulfed in light and coming out with his Full Djinn Equip. The bolt of lightning disappeared as Zadi's transformation came to a close. The three enemies didn't take much time to attack thereafter, firing a bolt of lightning Zadi's way.

Ronove' - The Necropolis [KILL VIABLE] 3NrHLU3

With his flight speed of 15 m/s, Zadi flew towards his right, dodged the bolt of lightning, and came in close enough to touch both the electromagnetic field and the barrier surrounding the enemy. Zadi continued to fly at 15 m/s around the trio of enemies, but he didn't do anything more than fly low to the ground. He could fly above the trio, but then lightning from above could strike and disorient the King Candidate. Zadi also made to sure to tuck his wings as close to his body as possible so that they wouldn't be hit either. They weren't required to fly after all.

Solomon finding himself in a new location was in awe once more it was not a field of flowers however even in desolation and destruction Solomon would be able to see its beauty, he could still feel the pain and burn on his arm from the last attack however the magnificence of this place dulled that pain, and it was not till a large bolt of lightning struck down from the sky way in the distance that brought him back to reality. “This place is quite dangerous especially for me my friend.” He would say to Val as he crouched down as he did not wish to be the tallest thing in the area. He would notice the tingle that went through his body that raised his long hair; he noticed the hover stones and the lake, which was filled with eels. “Obviously they are the only thing that could live in these lakes, be careful not to fall in, take each step with care and keep your head down.” If only the whole world could look like this Solomon thought to himself, not just this desolation they were in now but of the previous rooms as well, he much enjoyed the environments in this dungeon rather than the world of men that was outside of it. He thought of the many ways that man has destroyed the beauty of nature and pushed the wild creatures aside for themselves, and he knew when he was building his own country he would try to avoid doing so. He was happy however as he moved forward as he knew even if he was not to obtain the power of this dungeon he was given some insight of how he wished to create his country and the trust he was able to obtain from it for Val, and he hoped that he has been given the same.

The human still stayed calm and looked at Solo to see if he noticed. However, it looked like the immuchak was distracted so Val put his hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry, we are almost there." Val then looked at the lake to see the small electric eels. He listened to what the immuchak said and crouched down as well. He nodded toward him to show he understood. He tried to look at teh distance to what happened with the lightning, but he could not see anything. He walked a little bit toward where teh lightening struck and made a gesture toward Solo for him to follow Val.
