Tuo was ever so slightly annoyed as he walked around the town. It had been close to a year since the war ended and so here he was in Reim surveying the damage they had caused. In fact, he was quite surprised when he could see several old Kou soldiers around still acting as if nothing happened when truthfully they had almost ended up being destroyed. Tuo silently cursed at these soldiers for just standing around but physically he smiled and waved at them as well as the other citizens of Reim. It was always best to make sure people liked you than hated you.
As Tuo was walking around and greeting a few people, his eyes had spotted a tavern off to the side. it was at this moment his stomach had begun to growl. It was time to get some food, so Tuo walked into the Tavern and was greeted by quite a bit of noise and no egg smells. Thank goodness, Tuo had muttered to himself when he walked toward a table. A few moments later several Kou soldiers had walked in and sat in the middle of the tavern, standing out. The one in the middle had his old uniform on and thus, he was getting a lot of stares and glares. Enough so that Tuo had decided to back away a bit and just watch. He was sitting at a dark corner when an old man had walked in.
The old man had instantly glared at the three soldiers and then walked to the front of the bar, where he sat on a stool and was handed a big tankard of alcohol. Tuo lightly bit his bottom lip as he just continued watching the oncoming chaos. It didn’t take long for the old man to get drunk; which he must be a light weight if he got drunk off one tankard of alcohol, but he was drunk nonetheless. As the man hiccuped he had begun to talk about how his son used to the in the army and was a captain until a year ago when Kou had invaded.
“Well, obviosuly he wasn't a good captain if he couldn’t stay alive.” One of the soldiers had said out loud. Blinking a few times, Tuo was about to reprimand the guy but stopped when the old man laughed and then continued drinking saying his son desired it for marrying without his permission. Taking a breath of relief, Tuo then began to eat his food. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad?
And then it happened the man began to discuss how back in his day he had been in war as well. “Back in my day, Kou was a deep dark mystery, she didn’t like being told no, so what did we in Reim do? SLAPPED HER IN THE FACE!” The Kou soldiers couldn;t handle that part and thus, they had stood up. Sighing again, Tuo began getting up and walking toward them, until he heard the barkeep. “Will someone get this man out of here? He’s making my business smell rancid.” Tuo couldn’t be happier. “Of course I would gladly do that for you, sir!” He volunteered to do this. Grabbing the old man’s shoulder lightly he spoke. “I do believe you’ve had enough today sir, its time to go home.”
“Go home? Rubbish. Who are you to tell me what to do?” The old man spoke. Tuo smiled lightly before speaking in a whisper to the old man. “The one that killed your son.” The old man had then tried to hit Tuo with his tankard only for it to be caught and set aside. “Now now old man, it’s time to go.” Tuo had then forcefully grabbed the man by the shoulder and started moving him outside. Pushing him a bit, Tuo expected the man to try to hit him and well he did but it was simply a glancing blow. Forming a fist, Tuo had reared his hand back and then swiftly sent it forward attempting to hit the man in the stomach.
“Go home and wash, you damned old man.” Tuo spoke as he watched the man fall to the ground. With those words spoken, Tuo started walking back toward the tavern again. He was still hungry and now he was thirsty.
