The Cats Resenting Their Lake Visit [Noir/Endolf]

The final fishman fell in a heap onto the icy platform, its blood actually seeping off into the frozen waters as the Fanalis boy withdrew his sword from the back of its skull. Like the rest of their fallen foes the corpses were dragged off by the large cats that circled the shores of the lake. After the predators retreated with their meal the frozen platform the fighters were standing on began to vibrate as ripples formed on the water still visible between the chunks. Soon the vibrations turned into all out shaking as the water and ice broke from a much larger creature shooting up from it. As it landed Endolf found himself forced onto his behind from the sudden amount of weight appearing at one end of the platform when compared to the center area where Endolf and Noir had spent their time facing the fishmen so far.

Unlike Noir, who still had her back toward’s Endolf’s, the young redhead was more than capable of seeing just what they were up against now. The platform seemed to settle back down, albeit somewhat lopsided with the new foe’s arrival. The new creature was far larger than any of the fishmen were by themselves, standing an easy twelve meters tall with a trident clutched in one hand reaching about a good meter taller than itself and a rather large hook in the other on what seemed to be coiled up around his left hand.

“Me and my big mouth.”

It was all the Fanalis could process after taking in the new fish-warrior that had arrived. Even though he may not have actually said anything about having grown tired of facing small fry like the fishmen before he had definitely been thinking it. Now he was going to have to deal with the karma that was his life. Steadily he rose back to his feet, sword still somehow gripped in his hand. Inching himself backwards he continued until he was once again pressed back-to-back with Noir, his mind trying to formulate some way of going on the offense against the massive creature.

“Um, Noir. We got a BIG problem back here.”

Noir could feel something behind her; it was definitely not the aura from the Fanalis. The ara was much stronger than the enemies that already showed up before, but she knew that it was not strong enough to bring her down. She was confidence with it; she was stronger than that creature behind her. “I understand. Let’s switch place.” Noir suggested but before Endolf could move, Noir pressed her back more against the Fanalis’ back and quickly swap their place by doing a similar move to a pivot. Now the creature was in front of her and she smirked seeing the fish. Without even waiting for the fish to do anything, Noir used her Shuriken again and slash the shuriken towards the sea hunter to deal a strong damage to it. She hoped that it would quickly finish it, so they could quickly finish the battle and revealed the secret behind it.

Ability Used:

The fish was not happy with the people invading his territory, he wasn't going to let them off easy either. He would destroy the platform he stood upon, falling into the water before it could reach him. After this he would use gotcha from the water on the red haired male. This icy depth was his domain, using the skills he was capable of using it would be an attempt to get the boy close enough. Though his going in the water seemed futile, as the girl simply slashed at the air, if his attacked miss the large creature would swim under the platforms heading towards the pair. This would only be a safety measure though, if he grasped the boy then he would try to use a basic slash on him.

The sea hunter: 15m behind Noir in the water, attempting to grab End and attack him if he does, if not he swims under the ice towards Noir.

The black haired girl frowned when her attack didn't deal any damage and she halted herself to do anything else after the fish swam under the water, perhaps she underestimate the fish but she was sure it would be dead instantly if her shuriken hit it. When the shuriken flew back towards her, she caught it and stayed still, knowing that if she attacked recklessly, it would not work out like before. She didn't know what the fish planned, but she knew that she got cats to feed as they were waiting while watching the fight, so better give the cats what they wanted. While still back to back with Endolf, Noir looked forward and concentrated more to what would come, trusting her liger to give her signal as it stood right beside her.

Endolf would find himself being twisted around, his spot being exchanged for his team mate’s once he informed her that a much larger opponent had appeared at her back. From his back he could hear what sounded like something metal slicing through the air as it grew farther away only to be drowned out the thundering impact of something against a platform of ice. The waters began to react violently as something seemed to simply drop into them, water raining down on the fighters as an after effect of the giant splashing. The young redhead craned his head back to get a glimpse of their foe from over his shoulder only to find that in its place were large fragments of ice bobbing in the ripples of the lake’s frozen surface.

It didn’t take a genius for the Fanalis to realize what had happened and where their fishy friend could be. Sure enough the answer showed itself in the form of a large hook, grasping Endolf around his waist from the watery depths behind him. Not bothering to waste the few seconds he had to gather air on yelling or calling out for help he simply filled his lungs as much as he could, knowing full well his next stage of combat would be under the surface of the lake. His back hit the water hard as he was dragged through, several small bubbled of water escaping from the corner of his mouth from the pain.

This whole thing seemed foolish and like something the Fanalis should have avoided. Having only been on a boat when traveling by water, and having lived his life in Reim and in servitude while in Kou he had never gotten the chance to learn to swim. Much less fight IN water. Still, he was determined to try. Using the hook around him to his advantage, he attempted to turn himself around with it, keeping a hand on the metal at all times. Just in time as it would seem as the creature would swing its massive trident. Using all the strength he had, and the metal hook as a base, the redhead pushed himself up through the water and out of the trident’s path while advancing on the giant with his own sword ready.

Speeding towards the hunter Endolf readied his Resentment and slashed out at the creature’s chest with a basic slash of his own.

Stamina/Magoi: 104/124

In the water he was faster than the fanalis but the redhead was no idiot, he had managed to avoid his trident strike. The fish was completely focused on the redhead boy and ignored the the girl on the land above for now. He would attempt to use an upheaval as the boy swam towards him. Something would have to stop the fish or the man would take damage from it's attack. As it was a 3 on one fight counting the liger. This would be a test of how well the combo-ed together and how well they could think of solutions on the spot in the middle of a fight.

It seemed to Endolf that the gargantuan fishman didn’t want him making contact between his Resentment and the creature’s flesh as it instead brought its trident up from under him. That was fine by the Fanalis. In his mind it was his way back to the surface from his almost promised watery grave. He was already positive he wasn’t going to be able to hold his breath for much longer than he already was. Bracing himself the magic seal on the palm of his gauntlet began to glow that oceanic blue color once more, the water around him seeming to appear cleaner like that of a tropical sea as opposed to that of the lake they were swimming in. All around him in a personal sphere the water seemed to become more transparent as his Barrier Wave took form before the fishman’s attack made contact.

Of course the barrier wasn’t enough to take the full force of such an impact, and he wasn’t expecting it to. In fact, he knew from first-hand experience that he would still get a bit roughed up even after putting up his strongest (and only) defensive barrier. But it was worth it because despite the pain he had still been thrown upwards, the light from behind the lake’s surface managing to grow stronger and brighter until he finally broke through and landed flat on his back on one of the floating platforms of ice. Laying there, soaking wet with bruises and other obvious injuries, he grinned like a lunatic between his lungs filling back up with oxygen at the fact that he had outsmarted a simple bi-pedal fish. Now part of him just hoped his partner knew some fancy healing magic of some kind that could keep him in the fight a while longer.

Barrier Wave:

Noir would mount Haku and waited until Endolf swam to the surface before commanding the liger to pull the Fanalis up. The redhead would find himself being thrown on the air but it was all for one purpose, making him sat on Haku. Once he was sitting on the beast, the liger would run until he was 30 meters away from where the fish was and Noir would hold up her bracelet and use Heal All so she could heal Endolf from the damage that he suffered. Then Haku would run until the gap between him and the fish was 15 meters away. Noir would then readying her wand and made sure that Haku was standing at the platform before conjuring Onda D’urto II towards where the fish was at the moment. The electricity from the spell would spread exactly 15 meters, halved to 7.5 meters right above the platform and 7.5 meters under the water as some of the electricity could sneak to the water through .7 meter gap between each platforms.

Abilities:

Unknowing the fish would be surprised by the electricity that snuck it's way through the crack. The large fish would find it's body feeling fried as it was shocked, it's organs and Brain failing. Spasming it sunk deep in the water with no sign, they wouldn't realize it was dead until the round timer would change. With the end of this round a new foe would now appear to kick off the 6th round. They would here flopping across the ice, then moving towards them was a massive seal which would be 20m across from Noir, but the mammal charged with great force. The creature was going to attempt to attack the girl with a vicious bite once it was close, it was hungry after all.

Vicious Seal: 20m charging at Noir and using vicious bite when close

Her plan to electrocute the fish worked and now another enemy showed up. Noir didn’t plan to climb down from Haku for now since she would need to take care of Endolf while he was resting a little bit after receiving damage even though she already healed him. So she stayed on Haku and then brought her wand to cast a spell towards the seal. It was 20 m away from her and he started to charge towards her which would take around 1.6 second for him to be able to approach. Using this assumption in mind, Noir cast forth a series of vines that would wrap around her, Haku and Endolf that would form in 0.8 second by using her Nature’s Scepter. She could just hope that the thorns on the exterior would hit the creature and made him helpless. If her plan didn’t work, then she would sustain her Onda D’urto and she if the seal could handle, she just wanted to finish this battle soon.

Abilities:

The seals attack would collide with the vines, biting through it the creature would quickly retaliate. It would try to move back using a flop, as it moved away from the attack it would be hit but the next oncoming attack. The burst of electricity would strike the seals body jolting all through out it's body frying it. With the attack striking the creature would be killed finished the sixth round, they would feel their bodies vitalized by a new wave of energy. Now the start of the next round would hit off with the appearance of another seal and a sea hunter. With both large creatures thundering, the seal flopping over towards them standing 13m to the left of the redhead boy, the sea hunter standing 15m in front of Noir. The two creatures would work in tandem to do their best to annihilate the pair of warriors, they both permeated death and the smell of rotten fish, their bloodthirsty blanketing them like a fog.

Amazing. That was the only word the young redhead could use to describe his partner. From the moment he had washed back up on the platform she and he feline companion had taken charge, hauling him onto the large predator’s back with herself before using the entire lake to simply shock their foe with a blast of lightning. When the counter above them changed and another foe took the arena the Fanalis boy was certain that the gigantic fishman had been bested completely. Chuckling to himself he could only count himself lucky to have found a partner such as her right as he decided to foolishly charge off on his own.

Sure enough, in preparation for the new opponent, Noir seemed to know exactly what needed to be done. Encasing the three combatant team grew a series of vines that seemed to wrap around them all in a dome. The new enemy, a seal as it would appear, instead decided to chew through the vines. But that in and of itself was enough of a distraction as Noir used yet another lightning attack to fry the large, blubbery beast. Six rounds down. Endolf wasn’t sure how many rounds in total this was supposed to last but they had gone six rounds so far. With some kind of hope Endolf wondered if he’d be able to leave the rest of this, whatever they were involved in, to Noir.

The next round would begin with not only the appearance of another seal but another hunter as well. Endolf could only groan as he shifted into a sitting position on Haku’s back, as if ready to get back into the battle himself despite his injuries.

“I do apologize for acting on my own, Mr. Endolf. I believe you still need some more rest.” Noir calmly said to the Fanalis who was sitting behind her before noticing another seal appeared 13m to the left of them as well as a fish man who was 15m across from them. It seemed like she still needed to fight and it was unknown when it would be finished and how many more enemies that they should fight to reach the end. The black haired girl just worried if all of them couldn’t make it out alive so right now her priority was to survive this battle and after that she could just hope to know the secret. It wouldn’t bug her a lot if she ended up not knowing the secret as long as they were safe. The black haired girl would cast her shockwave again towards the enemies before quickly sustaining her nature’s scepter ability and made another thorny vines to be appeared again hoping it would have enough  range to finish both the seal and sea hunter in one go.

The black haired girl would stare at the sea hunter as the shockwave electrocuted it, burning its body and instantly defeated it. Meanwhile the seal that was standing at 13 meters beside Noir, Haku and Endolf would be pierced by the thorny vine that the girl cast. With a sigh, the magician wondered why they were not as vicious as before. It seemed like something was holding them back or they were simply just didn’t have any more will to fight anyone that invaded their territory. But Noir still needed to be very careful; it might be something that they did to make them feel less cautious. The scenario where swarms of enemies coming out suddenly and attacked them when they were taking their time to relax could happen and Noir didn’t want it. So after defeating the current enemies, Noir still sat on Haku while preparing for the next thing to come.

With the end of the seventh round they would find themselves amazed at how the large creatures were overpowered, One was encumbered by the vies which cut and killed the creature, the other would be electrocuted. It's nerves and organs being shocked causing the creatures functions to fail killing it in the process. With the death of these creatures they would have to face a wave of two sea hunters, who would position themselves near their opponents. One would stand a total of 15m away behind Endolf with it's trident in hand. WHile the other would stand exactly 13m right across from Noir with it's weapon in it's hands.

Noir closed her eyes and took a deep breath when she noticed another enemies appeared, they had the same appearance like the sea hunter from before but now it was two of them entering the arena. The black haired girl knew that she needed to at least at least preserve her magoi but right now her partner needed to rest so wasting some more magoi until the Fanalis was ready to fight again was not a big deal for her. With one was standing 15 meters behind Endolf who was sitting on Haku right behind Noir, and another one was 13 meters in front of the magician. She didn’t expect this to be an easy fight even though she already fought this creature multiple time by now since her magoi was not as many as before when she fought them. With a sigh, the golden eyed girl told Endolf to hold on tight before using her shuriken to create a whirlwind so she could deal a damage at the sea hunter that was standing across Noir. Then right after that, using the wand that she hold in her grip, Noir would point her wand towards the sea hunter behind them and cast Thunder Bullets. She hoped the attack would hit them…

Abilities used:

Endolf couldn’t believe how this was all turning out. Noir had really be carrying him since she threw him onto the back of Haku, taking out multiple enemies at a time all by herself. All the while Endolf had been feeling his beaten body being mended. By the time the third round passed after he was mounted onto Haku’s back he could feel he was ready to get back into the battle and assist Noir any way he could. With barely any effort he dismounted the cat’s back and found his footing on the frozen platform.
 
“Thanks Noir.”
 
It was a simple enough gesture, even if she didn’t know what he was thanking her for. He had to admit, he was glad he had hijacked her podium when he did, she had been proven more than qualified to fight alongside. Taking up his Resentment in his hand again the Fanalis once more turned to the enemy at their backs, yet another Hunter like the one who had dragged him down into the depths of the lake earlier. It was time for some serious payback as far as he was concerned.
 

Sprinting forward at his full speed, up to 15m/s, he managed to get behind the giant before spinning around and slashing towards the tendon of its left ankle.

It was strange, the enemies kept appearing but they did nothing offensive or showing any sign of being hostile towards Noir, Haku and Endolf. She couldn’t help but to think that they were just a helpless creature that was trapped in this mysterious world as well but she knew that she still needed to be on her guard. The sea hunter was easily defeated, the one that was standing in front of them was instantly defeated by the whirlwind, while the other was electrocuted by the thunder bullets that Noir cast before. Endolf then climbed down from Haku before dashing toward the sea hunter that was standing behind them, getting behind the giant and spinning around to slash the tendon of its left ankle, perhaps to make sure that it wouldn’t be able to move anymore. Right after, Noir would command Haku to dash towards Endolf, once again being close with the Fanalis by making the gap between them only 30 cm.

With the abilities striking their targets the pair would move onto the next round. The large fish electrocuted by the magician attacks, and one being sliced by the redheaded male. With this they would be moving onto the ninth round, their numbers would be overwhelmed as this time there would be two sea hunters along with one of the large seals appearing. The seal would head for the man stopping just 12m behind him while the girl would have to deal with the two sea hunters. One would be standing 15m to her left, the other standing 14m across from her.

The giant fell as both Endolf and Noir’s attack struck it, the other one falling with it from Noir’s other attack. Bouncing on his heels he could tell he was fully ready to get back into the battle full-force. As if answering his renewed vigor a new round started, this time with three opponents appearing from the waters for the two fighters, and Haku, to face. From behind him he could feel the heavy impact of something on the platform, rocking it slightly until two more hunters took their places at Noir’s front and side. Knowing full-well at this point that not only could Noir handle herself but Haku wouldn’t be a big enough pushover to allow her to get roughed up by the oversized fishmen.
 

Turning on his heels Endolf sprinted off towards the seal with his Resentment in hand, hooking it back to the chain attached to the cuff on his right wrist as he did so. When he was within four meters of the seal he would jump into the air, swinging his sword and chain around him to create a spherical illusion as he was right above the creature. With his Sphere of Swords in full motion he would bring his sword down with a violent whip on top of the seal as he landed behind it, turning in the air as he attacked so that he could land facing his target. Not wanting to lose momentum he pulled back on the chain, bringing his weapon back to his hand so that he could lunge forward to thrust his Resentment into the blubbery animal.

Sphere of Swords:

Other enemies appeared and Noir was more than ready to engage them even though her magoi was kind of lower than before, it meant that she couldn’t attack recklessly, everything needed to be calculated. She sighed and let Endolf to engage the enemy behind him before commanding Haku to follow the Fanalis. Haku would follow and waited until the redhead finished attacking before he used his claw to deal basic attack against the seal. Meanhwile, Noir who needed to deal with two enemies planned to hold on until Endolf managed to kill his share so he could come to her and helped her. She would use her shuriken again towards the one who was standing 14m across her, attempting to slash them in one go before using her Cat Shifter Amulet to mutating her nail into claws and run towards the one who was standing 15m on her left before swinging her claw towards the sea hunter’s face. However, she wouldn’t stop attacking, right after that she would swing her mutated claw again right at the sea hunter’s neck.

Abilities:

Above it the slashing blade would manage to hit and damage the seal. In order to avoid the man he would Flop. Managing to avoid the incoming damage it would turn around to face the boy then charge at him to use a Vicious bite once it was in striking distance of the boy. The shurkien's slash would fly towards the fish, it would try to clash with an upheaval but it wasn't enough to stop the attack in the path. The fish was killed by the attack but the one Noir would run towards was safe. In order to protect itself it would use a destroy to cause them to both fall in the water. As they were in the water it would swim towards the girl to use an upheaval.

It would figure that Endolf wouldn’t be able to finish off the seal the way he planned. His Sphere of Swords had managed to connect to the creature but the follow-up thrust had fallen short when the creature seemed to flop itself out of the way of his attack. For something so big the Fanalis had to admire how agile it seemed to be. Turning back on itself the seal would start to charge him, its mouth opened wide. The fishmen from earlier used this tactic on him and he wasn’t going to willingly allow the seal to snack on him now like he did then. Steadying himself he waited until the right moment before jumping upwards to DODGE the seal’s attack. Aiming his sword downwards he came falling right back down, aiming to impale the beast with the points of his Resentment.

DODGE!:

The black haired girl closed her eyes the moment she suddenly fell under the water because of the sea hunter before opening them again slowly to see where the sea hunter was. She could hold her breath and dive up towards the surface but she knew her enemy would try to attack her when she tried it, so Noir decided to use more magoi to sustain her mutated claw. She was right and the moment her enemy used upheaval towards her, the magician use the mutated claw to clash the attack from the upward to downward before she gripped the sea hunter’s arm and slashed the sea hunter from upward to downward. She would continue to use her claw to slash the sea hunter’s hand which was holding the trident before waited to see how the sea hunter would react after receiving all the vicious scratches that Noir gave, hoping she could pain the water with red before she dive to the surface. She knew that her stamina was not much anymore and she started to feel the effect of this vicious battle as she became tired.

Meanwhile, Haku who was near the Fanalis seemed to be ignored by the seal, something that the liger was not fond of if it occurred in the battle where he was standing right in front of the enemy even though Endolf was also there. Once Endolf dodged the seal’s attack and finished his attack on the seal, Haku would get behind the seal and leaped on it before biting the back of its neck by using basic attack, if he resisted, the liger would use his claw in the form of basic attack to give a bloody scar right at the seal’s back.

Ability:

As the fight raged on the boy would attempt to attack the Seal and avoid his attack by leaping. But as the creature was faster the boy would not escape unscathed. As he leaped in the air he would aim his bite at the boys foot chomping down on it unless he chose to put something in it's way. But after that his attack from above would manage to land and kill the creature. As the girl  would continue to slash towards the sea dwelling warrior it would try to protect itself by putting up it's trident. The weapon would take the first blow as the girl tried to grab it, but it would push his arm out exposing the creature. In that brief moment it would be killed as the claws penetrated it's flesh. The would feel their energy slightly replenished with the end of the ninth round, now a new enemy would approach. A large, portly whale humanoid would be seen swimming in the water, it's size overwhelming those who came close. The beast would swim until it was 20m away from Noir, the creature waiting until it was struck to fight back.
