Following their run in with invisible attackers and, as far as Yaku knew, and enemy strength magician; the rest of the main hall was relatively safe. Yakuroro and Zadi were able to reach the doors at the opposite end unmolested and thankfully they still had magoi to spare. Even if Yaku was feeling a little banged up. The Imuchakk groaned as he rubbed one of his shoulders and looked down at the set of stairs leading into the black abyss below.

"I don't know what this place is but...it clearly isn't safe. We should be careful about going down there..."

Yakuroro sought to ease his concerns by pulling his magic carpet from his waist so it would unfurl and offer a ride for the two magicians. "Get on Zadi, we'll keep off the ground for now..." Yakuroro jumped onto the carpet and waited for Zadi to join him before floating 10m above the staircase while descending it.

Yeah, thankfully Yaku wasn't facing Zadi when Zadi used his Burst spell to knock out and kill all, if not most, of the invisible enemy...or seemingly invisible. Maybe Zadi was just hearing things, cause he did hear a few dead screams from bellow the bridge. Sounded pretty terrible, too. BUT, Zadi ignored it out of shear fright. He didn't want to cause his little human heart to explode with adrenaline...

"Yeah, those strength magician enemies...or whatever they were...they almost got me if they hadn't accidentally killed each other in the process of hitting you. I just got lucky, hehehe..."

Zadi got onto the flying carpet that Yaku unraveled from his waist, making sure to get a good grip with his rear end so that he wouldn't slide off, hahaha! He set his staff across his crisscrossed lap and was ready to go through the rest of this dark and dangerous place...

Hellhound:

The creature, silent like the greatest of predators, hunched back into the darkness. It could see the carpet carrying the strange creatures, floating down the staircases slowly but surely.

The Hellhound itself was sat atop a ledge, invisible to any eyes in the near pitch black darkness. As soon as the carpet came above it, masking it's presence from the would-be dungeon capturers, the monster released a black fume from its mouth. Said fume would instantly make everything around the beast go pitch-black.

The two fleshies would be blind by the time the creature made its move.

The Hellhound jumped up, releasing a powerful roar as its arms came rushing in from the side of the carpet. The creature itself couldn't see what was sitting atop the piece of fabric, however it slashed wildly anyway, supporting its entire body mid-air with nothing but its front arms.

With one clawed hand digging into the carpet, the secured Hellhound slashed its other in both directions rapidly, hoping to nab anything on top of the flying object.

The canine's arms were each about a meter long, so hopefully they'd be able to snatch him up some prey for dinner.

Now that they'd suffered an assault, the part of two mages were proceeding with more caution than before. The flying carpet was carrying them at a slow pace for now, just barely 1m/s. There were no words spoken by Yakuroro as his blue eyes peered into the darkness trying to make out a bottom to this seemingly endless stretch of stairs. The Imuchakk could hardly see much further than a few meters, but at least his eyes would see the stair case which was like their lifeline. With a maximum flight height of 60m, the flying carpet would simply plummet into darkness if they tried to go on either side of the stairs leaving only two directions of travel. Forwards and down into the darkness, or reverse ascending back the way they came, Yakuroro was prepared to do either at a moments notice. When the stairs he was watching as an important lifeline suddenly vanished by encroaching darkness, Yakuroro immediately willed the carpet to fly in reverse back up the stairs at top speed.

The carpet would quickly accelerate to 25m/s allowing it to swiftly fly out of the beasts range before it even let out its might roar. It would only take two seconds for the carpet to escape the black fog but they would continue to retreat 50m away from the source of the strange darkness. "It looks like another attack Zadi. Be ready!" Yakuroro advised his friend as he held his staff forward and began building magoi. They would take this thing down together...whatever it was.

The two magicians were slowly flying through the Midway of the Dungeon, trying to examine every little aspect of this mysterious and ever so dangerous place. It was just to perplexing to wrap one's head around...for Zadi at least. He just couldn't think of anything but 'death trap' at this point in time. Anyway, black fumes started to form around the two magicians and Yaku's flying carpet. Zadi started to feel that tingling sensation on the back of his neck, the one same one he got when hearing those footsteps...and that sensation...was and still is...fear. No matter how simple or plain-as-day the situation may be, basic fear of unknown things kicks into all human beings. However, it seemed that Imuchakk also got that sensation...maybe. Zadi didn't say anything, but the carpet was going at full speed away from the black fumes. Yaku then told Zadi to get ready...for something. Zadi build up his Magoi in the off chance that the fumes were some sort of being in and of themselves...

"Yeah...and I think this time...we're prey rather than scum..."

As soon as the beast leaped, it started to fall just as fast. It missed the flying carpet by just an inch, releasing what seemed to be a mixture between a whimper and a confused grunt.

"Arooooooooooooo....." Is the sound that the Hellhound let out as it fell to it's destruction.

All that could be heard after about five seconds was a loud "thump" and whimper, signifying the creature's demise.

[You may now roll the Go dice and attempt to escape the Midway]

Yakuroro and Zadi were both ready to blast magic at whatever manner of beast had created the ominous black obscurity. Thankfully it seemed to depart as quickly as it had revealed itself. As the hellhound fell, the range of it's cloud would fall too before the stairs ahead were perfectly visible again. The crash of the beast at the bottom took disturbingly long, but it also meant that there was indeed a bottom after all. Relieved to hear to dungeon beasts death fall, Yakuroro looked to Zadi and lowered his staff, "Did you hear that? Whatever that was, I think it fell...We should move fast lest any more surprises show themselves. Hold on tight Zadi." With Yakuroro's warning, he grasped his jade green flying carpet and willed it ahead down the stairs at top speed.
