The recent events revolving around Reim had brought upon a new air, a subtle breeze that packed the energy of a revolution. The murmuring of the citizens echoing through the slums, through the households, even some powerful faces where not in agreeance with Kou's sudden take over. The hearts of the people both inspired by fear and anger were eager to lash out at there suppressors. They had many good reasons to be angered as well, and the anger festering within them was something that Jahangir Nikator the "King of the Mountain" supported very much quite frankly
Yet and still Jahan moved in silence, he let nobody know of his dis-contempt with Kou or the government currently, instead he was focusing on broadening his influence and understanding of the world without being noticed. In recent terms, he had purchased a hundred acres of land in private plots over Reim. In Remano specifically, he had purchased an old Textile Warehouse, a shanty building in the back of a small area of wooded brush. The area was out of the site of civilians, and only accessible to Tarturus and its members, a specific branch of about 50 members, whom basically lived and operated in secret through the building.
The Tarturus Operatives would along with their many daily duties gather notable information through the entire city. They needed to know everything, who was doing what, where, how and why. They were keeping tabs on notable figures, as well as the growing presence of Kou in Reim. Soon another topic became rather prevalent to them. The discontent of the civilians as a whole, as this was common knowledge for them, it alone was not "ground breaking" news for Jahangir. However it was the offspring of that anger, the meetings against Kou that were really interesting Jahangir.
At some moment Jahan received an anonymous letter, claiming that there would be a reward if he was able to find a meeting for disgruntled citizens. Quickly he made preparations and set up a meeting in the abandoned warehouse Jahan owned. On the night of the meeting man wore almost no Jewelry for once, he wanted to seem more of a common man than anything else. So his flashy attire was substituted for something more common. Simple black and blue robes, and a pair of boots, something that Jahan wouldn't even wear to bed on normal occasions. His face was not covered, while he would not want to cause any more distrust with the civilians, he felt as if it would be better in the long run if the people saw him for who he was.
He would however keep his identity hidden.
When he entered the meeting there were a few eyes watching him, luckily for him being born and raised within Reim's lower and middle class levels he had many associates. An uncle of Jahan, Homer, who was a fine Fanalis and worked beneath Octavious before his passing, was able to vouch for Jahan. Jahan almost cursed his skin color for giving him such a hard time, he if anyone was working for the people of Reim.
As the meeting started Jahan chose to sit back and listen more so than talk, he wanted to know the people unadulterated opinions of what was going on and what were their plans in order to stop it.
"We can not allow Kou to simply have OUR COUNTRY!" men were bellowing, each statement simply leading to an uproar, and then silence brought upon by the fear of being discovered, and then the cycle would repeat.
"The soldiers are doing whatever they please! They've taken food, clothe-"
"Kou is only here to use Reim for war! Soon our whole culture will be erased and replaced with nothing more than military might!"
The arguments continued from all angles, it was more of a rant at this time, and with out a civil leader to the conversation things were becoming discoursed, so Jahan stood up at this point, his voice booming, able to reach the ears of the massive audience.
"Listen Now my country men. Brothers, Neighbors, Farmers, Merchants and Craftmen. While you still have time listen to what I have to say. I will give you answers to reclaiming your country." Jahangir paused and resume talking in perfect sequence, his skills at leading others were remarkable.
"Kou has taken your country, the land your fathers and their fathers have worked and fought to build. They have taken your king, your soldiers and soon they will take your power, your freedom and even your souls" Jahan used the word "souls" figuratively, only to add emphasis to his words.
"We all should know who the real "kings" of Reim are, The "beloved" king Lagi was placed on the throne all to conviently wasn't he? We all know of the dilenma. If you truly want to stop Kou before your homes become their homes, and your culture becomes nothing more than text in a history book. I suggest a revolution. Do not bend nor break to the control of Kou, roar out violently, let it all be known, to every Reiman, and Kou how you feel and that this is your country!"
The room roared at this, they had a direction now a cause, however Jahan was not satisfied with this yet, this was not quite enough.
"Pick your leaders and go out without fear for your lives, for if you do not charge into rebellion now you will have nothing to live for later. Rebel, start a revolution, and spread it. Leave no time for Kou to make an error, make sure that your "king" understands your feelings, and above all never give up. For the day that all of you submit, is the day that this country has died."
With that Jahangir had nothing left to say, he instead decided to leave, giving a last look to the people, whom where cheering and in a uproar. The heads filled with hairs of red, alerted him to a large bit of Fanalis within this group. He would pay it no mind as he exited the meeting, and fled down the streets of Remano.
