Personality:
Zafar is a self indulgent sociopath with no human connections save for brief ones with people he has decided to kill. Every day of his life is lived with one goal in mind, to entertain himself from the boredom of the world. The only thing that really interests Zafar is facing strong opponents. Zafar strongly desires to feel the pain of being beaten to a pulp by a fighter as strong or even greater than himself to a masochistic degree. However this wont stop him from attempting to reciprocate an equal amount of punishment with an equal degree of sadism. Ultimately he wants both himself and his prey to be pushed to the brink of death as only then will the kill be most pleasurable.

The ecstasy Zafar feels when he is taking the life of a strong fighter goes beyond any other physical pleasure he experiences in his life. He craves it much like a junkie needs their fix and is always looking for new prey to eagerly stalk and destroy. There are times where his gaze will fall on people who are not "strong" but otherwise have much to lose and destroy's their lives in less lethal ways. However these distractions are just games to him while he waits for another dangerous opponent to come along.

Appearance: Zafar is a young man with a slim but muscular build with fair pale skin. His hair is a naturally deep red causing him to often be mistaken as a member of the Finalis Clan. The hair is kept at medium length and then gelled back into a wild style. Beneath his golden yellow eyes are two tattoos, one of a spring green tear drop and another of a maroon star. The tattoos have no meaning and merely serve to accept Zafar's eccentric clothing style.

The clown-like decor Zafar wears consists of white loose fitting pants that are easy to move around in and a dark sleeveless shirt with diamonds printed on the front and back. Acting as both accessories and weapons, Zafar also wears a set of brass rings around his ankles, wrists, biceps, neck, and abdomen.

Special Traits: Battle Lust - Zafar receives erotic gratification when faced with the prospect of fighting and killing powerful opponents. This pleasure does not translate to dangerous beasts and only triggers against humanoid opponents who are equal or stronger than Zafar's own tier. Note that this trait does not increase Zafar's capabilities in any way. It simply makes him more likely to take extreme actions and make more sadistic choices in combat.
History:
Zafar Mushtaq's origins are unknown to himself and shrouded in mystery however the truth behind the matter is rather tragic. The boy was born to a simple traveling merchant who could barely sell his way out of a wet paper bag and a doctor who traveled with him. His father was the trader and his mother the doctor and together they lived a peaceful and joy filled life roaming the world and meeting all sorts of people. A family of three sons and a daughter were born to them and it seemed like a happily ever after ending was in store. However all it took was one stormy night and a slippery slope to send their wagon over the side of a cliff ending the fairy tale.

Zafar's mother saved his life and the lives of his siblings by protecting them with her body leaving four babies helpless in the wreckage. A passing assassin on his way back from a mission discovered the four children and decided to take them back to his organization to be trained into valuable assets. Zafar and his siblings were then raised to be tools of death and they were never informed of their blood relation. Over the course of 10 years Zafar and his kin were forced to compete against one another in violent and brutal training sessions until at last they were each given their first missions. To kill one of the group. Zafar followed the orders swiftly and with great pleasure as he had developed an incredible joy in the work they had been preparing for.

After murdering the last family members he had, Zafar became a full fledged assassin and was sent on several missions around the world using his young age as an 11 year old to lure his targets into false senses of security, however he eventually grew tired of killing corrupt old men. There was no challenge, no rush, not like the one he felt when fighting for his life against those he'd grown up with. Zafar began to develop a profound hatred for himself and the life fate had dealt him. He slowly became harder to control as this resentment grew and fermented into a curse towards his fate as well as those who had been training him. Zafar began picking fights with stronger fighters rather than silently eliminating targets as ordered. This was both a way to lash out against the organization as well as against fate which had deemed that he should prey upon weak old fools. It didn't take long for this rogue behavior to land Zafar a spot on the organization's hit list.

Wanted by those who'd trained him, Zafar went on the run for the next 8 years. During this time he traveled the world and slowly picked off his pursuing assassins one by one. These travels took him to Reim at one point where he met a young fanalis slave named Liber Aurelius. Liber's potential was being squandered and so Zafar convinced him to kill his mistress before sending the youth to join the very assassin organization Zafar was on the run from.

Eventually, there was no fully trained assassin's left to send after Zafar save for the organization leader who had adopted him and his siblings all those years ago. Zafar killed the man in an open duel and just barely won, but in doing so earned a freedom he'd never had before.

After wandering aimlessly for half a year Zafar found himself in the Democratic Republic of Balbadd. The differences in Balbadd's way of doing things interested Zafar as residing there would allow him the benefits of citizenship without the oppressive will of some king or otherwise elite fool lording over him. For the past year Zafar had made a living in Balbadd as an entertainer and an underground hitman and enjoying his time by prowling the docks and bars for strong fighters who find their way into town. But as recently as a few months ago, he made his way to Reim in search of stronger fighters.

She has lived life from the perspective of a traveling merchant, a lone child surviving harsh wilderness, a budding magician in foreign lands, a slave, an assassin, a noblewoman, and a diplomat. The many different paths she has walked in her life grant her a perception about her surroundings that can be considered nigh supernatural at times. She holds great insight into those who she has known and met on several occasions and can navigate almost any situation with tact and grace.

It is hard to catch this sly woman off guard and conversely she inflicts such positions upon others almost as if by second nature. Lady Soushui is naturally seductive in her movement and speech and yet maintains a modesty and innocent appeal expected only of naive girls not yet savvy to the ways of the world. It is an unusual contradictory balance that is maintained through careful social subtleties.

At her heart, the woman is kind and empathetic to the struggles of those in positions of less power than herself. Having been in the shoes of the downtrodden, Lady Soushui is intimately aware of the pains and hardships the common man suffers. She often uses her status and clout to improve the lives of others where possible and will avoid making unnecessary sacrifices out of people when within her capabilities.

Beyond her mastery over public appearances, political skill, and humanitarian interests, Lady Soushui is truly a researcher. She is always pushing the boundaries of her magical capabilities and spends extensive amounts of her free time devoted to advancing one theory or another. Her past experimentation in magic has developed several breakthroughs and new spells unique to herself. As an assassin, most of these magics were designed to bring an end to her targets lives, but since leaving that life behind her, Soushui's research has taken a far more benevolent turn. Her accomplishments lie in the fields of barrier magics, clairvoyance magics, life magics and chimera creation, as well as magic pertaining to the generation and promotion of crops.

Lady Soushui appears to be a young woman at a glance, but careful inspection from a well trained eye might be able to spot a few lingering features which mark her as a middle aged woman. Most of these features have been hidden or altered with magic, but not all signs of her true age have been wiped clean.

She usually wears elaborate and flashy dresses in the fashion of her nation, Kou. But sometimes she can be found donning slightly more unorthodox outfits. Regardless, all of her clothing is custom made and tailored to fit her generous curves quite well. Maintaining a look of seduction and nobility at the same time, her dresses offer just enough flesh revealed to the eye that Soushui's charms can be used to their full effect whilst still retaining a healthy degree of modesty.

Lady Soushui was born to parents who traveled for a living and lived a simple life during her youngest years. But tragedy struck when her family was traveling through the northern seas as a great storm blew in from nowhere. Their ship capsized and Soushui's parents were lost at sea never to be heard from again. The girl herself, almost died from exposure to the arctic waters and found herself losing consciousness.

When she awoke, Soushui found herself by a warm fire wrapped in pelts. An Imuchakk magician who had been exiled from his tribe happened to find her and rescued the human on a whim. When she recovered from the ordeal, Soushui asked the man to teach her magic. He staunchly refused at first and tried to hit the girl to kick her out of his tent when she insisted, but her borg activated revealing that she had the talent for it. The Imuchakk had never left his ice cap and others like him were rare among his people and so he did not know how common a Borg was for magicians. Seeing this as a sign that she was a prodigy of sorts much like he thought himself to be, the Imuchakk reconsidered.

After spending two years of tutelage with the Imuchakk, Soushui left out into the world as an apprentice madoushi to try and find her parents. Her travels would take her to Kou where a wealthy nobleman, cousin to the emperor, noticed the girl from a crowd and found her pleasant to the eyes. The nobleman approached Soushui and tricked her into committing a crime which held the death penalty. He then arrived to "save" her from such a fate by offering to take her in as a slave.

Under this man's control, Soushui was forced to learn new magics and was instructed to find a way to use them in order to take lives. She was pushed into training in the arts of seduction, espionage, and assassination. The next fifteen years of Soushui's were spent as a tool used by the nobleman to execute political enemies and dissenters.

There was no escape from this fate even as her master died for she was simply inherited by the emperor himself and further employed in similar ways. She spent only three months as an imperial assassin before being awarded her freedom and a place of minor nobility. In this time she snuffed out several rogue elements within the empire and put stopped a potential civil war before it could truly begin.

With her new freedom and title came a new perspective on life. Soushui traveled to the western edges of Reim to a province that was being run by a corrupt official rather sour about his lot in life. He had been left magistrate of a relatively sizeable plot of land, and yet sadly almost none of it was fertile. Dry weather patterns made harvesting crops difficult and there were no valuable resources within his territory. To make matters worse, the citizens living there were a recently conquered and forcefully relocated group of former nomad tribes.

Soushui used her position and magic to expose the official's abuse of tax collection and ousted him from his position. She requested to be given temporary claim on the lands as its magistrate on the promise that she could improve its production in a short amount of time. Using her skills in persuasion and talent in magic, Soushui convinced the various tribe elders to work together with her as she revitalized the land. In a mere year, its ability to produce food, wines, and silk sprung to life. The province is now one of the largest suppliers of food for the surrounding provinces and is even vital to the capital's comfort during winter months and times of famine.

These accomplishments earned Soushui a greater noble title ranking her up to middle class nobility and marked her as having use to the empire beyond her previous profession. Soushui was approached by an envoy asking her to serve as an ambassador under the emperor's orders. While she almost never meets the man, she has served him as a political scalpel over the past several years. While she still doesn't hold his trust, she does hold his ear and has made numerous suggestions to pacify several tribes without conflict allowing the empire to expand without unneeded bloodshed and gain willing citizens as opposed to disgruntled ones.

Personality:
These are a proud people who live by the sweat of their brow. They have a strong sense of honor and justice and they follow the tenets of their ancestors. These people hold a strong spiritual bond to their predecessors an through shamans, they understand that all life goes back to the great flow after death. They have suffered through many hardships, but maintain a positive outlook on life throughout most struggles knowing that even should their lives end, they will be reunited with their loved ones some day after death.

Appearance: The clan usually wears clothing of Kouen origin made from the wool of livestock, silks, and fibers found in local flora. The mostly have dark hair, green eyes, and small bodies, but there are exceptions scattered throughout their ranks. Most of them have the look of simple people skilled in one craft or another or like farmers. They live off the land and by the sweat of their brow. But some of their kin have the look of scholars or monks about them. These individuals are usually bigger, both in height and in muscle mass as they are the members of the clan's martial arts sect as well as its guardians/warriors.

History:
The clan's origin's date back to before the Kou Empire was even a glint in the first emperor's ambitious eyes. They settled down in the Jade Dragon mountain range and there they lived secluded in peace for many generations. When Kou's expeditionary troops stumbled upon them, they insisted that the clan was already inside the empire's territory even though this was far from the case. An outpost began using them as a source of supplies and imposed cruelly unfair taxes upon them.

Eventually these people had their village burned down by soldiers of Kou from said outpost and are now In Need of a King. They were wrongfully forced to pay a tax to the Kou Empire despite not truly living within their lands. This group of mountain villagers however, had little means to fight back against this oppression. Even the sect of monks specializing in martial arts and magoi manipulation could not fight back against the might of the entire Kou army.

One day, a pair of travelers came to their aid. A Magician named Yakuroro and a fanalis named Dynatos. Since the villagers could not pay the outrageous taxes demanded of them, the soldiers began razing the village just before these two saviors arrived on scene. Using their power, the soldiers were defeated and while the village could not be saved, many of the villagers survived thanks to their intervention.

Dynatos promised these people a new home but has yet to make good on this declaration. Still, the Jade River clan has faith that these men will come to their rescue once more. For now, they are living in the Great Plains and have been gradually traveling westward to escape the ever expanding Kou empire.

The mostly have dark hair, green eyes, and small bodies, but there are exceptions scattered throughout their ranks. Most of them have the look of simple people skilled in one craft or another or like farmers. They live off the land and by the sweat of their brow. But some of their kin have the look of scholars or monks about them. These individuals are usually bigger, both in height and in muscle mass as they are the members of the clan's martial arts sect as well as its guardians/warriors.

The clan's origin's date back to before the Kou Empire was even a glint in the first emperor's ambitious eyes. They settled down in the Jade Dragon mountain range and there they lived secluded in peace for many generations. When Kou's expeditionary troops stumbled upon them, they insisted that the clan was already inside the empire's territory even though this was far from the case. An outpost began using them as a source of supplies and imposed cruelly unfair taxes upon them.

Eventually these people had their village burned down by soldiers of Kou from said outpost and are now [url=http://magiworld.forumotion.com/t791-those-in-need-of-a-kingtraining-sloth][b]In Need of a King[/b][/url]. They were wrongfully forced to pay a tax to the Kou Empire despite not truly living within their lands. This group of mountain villagers however, had little means to fight back against this oppression. Even the sect of monks specializing in martial arts and magoi manipulation could not fight back against the might of the entire Kou army.

One day, a pair of travelers came to their aid. A Magician named Yakuroro and a fanalis named Dynatos. Since the villagers could not pay the outrageous taxes demanded of them, the soldiers began razing the village just before these two saviors arrived on scene. Using their power, the soldiers were defeated and while the village could not be saved, many of the villagers survived thanks to their intervention.

Dynatos promised these people a new home but has yet to make good on this declaration. Still, the Jade River clan has faith that these men will come to their rescue once more. For now, they are living in the Great Plains and have been gradually traveling westward to escape the ever expanding Kou empire.




A Few NPCs Hakuri333
Name: Ryosui, Chiyan
Alias: Jade River Clan Elder
Gender: Male
Personality:
Ryosui is full of life and energy despite his old age and elderly appearance. His kind expression seems to always generate a peaceful aura that brings comfort to those of his clan and doubts to those seeking to bring harm to them. It was thanks to his non-aggression mindset and cunning tact that the violence incurred upon his people had been delayed for as long as it had.

He is intelligent and compassionate but despite all this he holds a seemingly contradictory love for fighting. Ryosui believes that through martial arts and fighting, human beings can come to better understand themselves and others around them which will ultimately lead to greater peace for all. Through battle, one learns much including how to avoid future battles that will bring only suffering.

Elder Chiyan loves his people and his disciples full-heartedly and while he may be cautiously wary of outsiders upon first meetings, if he judges them to be good natured people then that love extends to them as well. Considered to be the source of the clan's happiness by many of its adults, he is both revered and respected among his peers.

As the clan's shaman, he also holds a healthy knowledge of the rukh and the great flow. Ryousui sees it as his responsibility to guide the clan on a path that is in line with the flow of the rukh and takes its guidance to be divine in nature.

This man can be found wearing the wool robes of the clan's monk sect and is adorned with two fine silk sashes that denote him as the clan's elder as well as it's shaman respectively based on their color and a seal stitched into the ends of the cloths. One of these silks is light blue and worn much like a scarf while the other is a dark grey and is wrapped around his waist like an obi.

His father was a strong fighter, but had no talent for magoi manipulation and never possessed the natural requirements to be a magician. Personality: Illius is a brilliant old man that has dedicated decades of his life to uncovering the secrets behind the world's lost history. He has an insatiable appetite for knowledge of the ancient world and this motivation drives him. Unfortunately, in his old age he is no longer able to shoulder the bodily burdens required of those who venture out to long forgotten ruins to conduct excavations. This has left him bitter and even somewhat jealous towards others, but he dulls the blade of his sharp tongue by staying regularly inebriated.

As a drunk, the man is much more amicable but altogether shrewd at the same time. Even with the mist haze of spirits, Pollux is always on the look out for new archeologists and will go to cunning lengths to enlist others into his search for the long forgotten past of the planet.

Appearance: An elderly man usually found dressed in cloaks and robes during his daily routines. His hair is combed back and styled into place save for a couple bangs as stubborn as the man himself which fall forward in rebellion. His body is large and shows the scars of a man familiar with danger, but has long since withered and is no longer capable of what it surely once was.

Illius began his archaeological career based on a question he held ever since childhood.

"What was the world like in ancient times?"

A love for history books spurred his imagination which fermented into curiosity and passion later in life. He learned the swords to defend himself and made a brief start as a mercenary protecting trade caravans before saving enough money for his first expedition. Pollux spent a full week searching tirelessly until all his supplies had run out. Still, the young man combed through the ruins of an old Reim outpost left over from the very first days of the empire. His diligence led to a discovery of an old hidden room which contained a small cache of gold, weapons, and intelligence documents from the time.

Illius returned to Remano with his bounty and never looked back. After many years of continuous adventures looking for signs of a distant past, Illius eventually founded the Historical Society from like minded individuals. When it was time for him to retire from the field, he continued pursuing his passion there as it's chairman. Now he spends his days guiding the younger generation and supporting the society with the fortune he has amassed while simultaneously using them to gather more ancient knowledge.
